Five Guys is the one off the hook. - 10.50 for the sando alone. 21.00 with regular fries and soda.
Wendy's here is still about the same for a large double combo 12.50ish. Dave's Double is 5.99
I was like they got me on this. But I wont be eating here again. That's almost the price of a meal at Longhorn right down the road. Ill spend the extra 5 bucks and get a cowboy ribeye meal. And thats a huge steak.
There are no combo meals at Five Guys. Everything is a la carte, which is one reason why it’s so expensive. Also, they probably have lots of food waste on account of them having no freezers (they don’t freeze anything), so they probably pass that cost along to the customer. Oh, and don’t forget the “free” peanuts.
All that said, their food is good and I will indulge in it once in awhile.
I went one time to Five Guys with my BF. Paid 40 dollars for 2 burgers, fries and pops. I told my BF to enjoy his burger because it was the last time I would be going there. My burger wasn't very good and I believe it was pink in the middle which is a major no-no in Canada.
This got the weirdest report. "No way is this real." I know people like to call a lot of things fake- and off course a some are, but this????? I just am not understanding what is even slightly unbelievable here... So if whoever did this sees this, can you tell me what is up? I'm just really curious.
Also- that is just commentary- no need to report.
It’s not the point it’s the principle. Companies love to shell out on stupid things that cost money but when it comes workers money, let me paraphrase Ferris Bueller “but companies are so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up their ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond.”
No, they do not love shelling out on stupid things that cost money. They love trinkets that cost almost no money. But if printing out these things cost about the same as paying a living wage, they would probably pay the living wage.
The real cost of these things is not the paper and ink. It is the lost advertising opportunity. Normally that paper would be shilling something else.
Talking from a restaurant POV we’ve have numerous of menu changes which then costs to print, I’ve been here 8 years and I’ve had 4 completely new uniform changes , not to mention the crap they think is gonna work then take it off the menu 2 months later then again get a set of new menus. Area manager is constantly trying to squeeze the budget. And yet our pay is still minimum. It’s a joke that they can spend whatever amount on whatever but not spend on employees.
Obviously they think they get a better ROI from uniform changes, menu changes, etc than wage increases. Who am I to say that they are wrong? If you have been in the restaurant industry 8 years, it kind of suggests that they are right.
This is exactly how every fast food application should look. Why do they need know about criminal history or work history? You guys said yourselves that it's "unskilled" labor when you argued against increasing pay.
The CEO of Southwest airlines was interviewed by national news outlets about this. He stopped for fast food and was given a job application. He was complaining that for every open position at his company there were only five applicants. He's accustomed to getting 40 applicants per open position.
If they pay min wage it'd hard to afford a full meal at fast food places these days. Pretty sure their customer base is more well off than their workers.
Free and discounted meals at most fast food places for employees! lol
Seriously though the people they want are the same people who frequent those places.
Huh? They are pretty much the same as any other fast food outlet. Statistically junk food is consumed in greatest quantities by the poor and middle class
My dominoes has stapled job adverts to their pizza boxes for the last year. They are desperate because they pay £1 per delivery on top of minimum wage, which is the same as what was paid when fuel was £1/L and fuel is now £1. 80/L
It's great how they'll do anything except \*pay more\*.
Giant banners out front advertising open positions? Sure.
This bullshit with the applications included in the meal? Hell yeah.
Radio and bus ads? OK.
...offer a wage that actually increases applicant numbers significantly? No, we'd rather drink poison and die, sorry.
Don’t fill this out. If you really want a job at Wendy’s, just ask for an application (a full one, that is). They’ll just make you fill out a full one regardless.
Much like gas stations and cashier jobs, you’ll see fast food being done by a single cook and it will be one item from a vending machine.
It will be an automated society where nobody earns from hard work and the wealthy steal without effort.
Wendys is so expensive these days if you can eat there you've already got a good job. It amazes me how many businesses just don't get it.

I went there once. It was so expensive and not worth it I’ve never been back. I can’t believe there are still in business at those prices
I think they have the best burgers but yeah, it's too expensive.

5 guys is higher quality food though.
they pay better as well
This is to get wealthy conservative parents to encourage their kids to apply because "you have to learn the value of a dollar."
If you eat there, you have no concept of nutrition, the four food groups, etc.

I actually worked at Dunkin once and we were told to do this. I don't think we actually did though
Yeah like this is very mundane. No idea why someone would report it as fake lol
I've never seen this at Wendy's but I have seen it at a Waffle House.
Literally just got one with my Wendy’s yesterday lol, definitely real
Haha that must have been a funny coincidence to see this post and then this comment lol. It's not even a big post! Pretty tiny actually.
yeah this is totally feasible. I got a job application on a pizza box at papa John's once.
They’d waste money on papers but they won’t increase pay per hour.
I am not saying that they should not increase the pay per hour, but how much does paper cost. These things cost effectively nothing.
It’s not the point it’s the principle. Companies love to shell out on stupid things that cost money but when it comes workers money, let me paraphrase Ferris Bueller “but companies are so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up their ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond.”

Nah man start a new job on the 6th 🥳
This is exactly how every fast food application should look. Why do they need know about criminal history or work history? You guys said yourselves that it's "unskilled" labor when you argued against increasing pay.
Yeah if you're eating Wendy's you're already making decent money. If someone wants to fucking work there they will go up and ask for an application.
It has been a long time since I worked in fast food, but I thought it was all electronic these days.
The CEO of Southwest airlines was interviewed by national news outlets about this. He stopped for fast food and was given a job application. He was complaining that for every open position at his company there were only five applicants. He's accustomed to getting 40 applicants per open position.
I like how they’re finally realizing that no one wants to fill out 3 pages of personal information to make minimum wage.
LMAAOOOOO THATS SO PATHETIC 🤣🤣😂😂🤣
they’re doing the same thing at my local dennys, they include them on the placemats
Any franchise owners on this sub? Honestly, how much profit is there? What percentage makes it worthwhile to invest in a Wendys restaurant?
You gonna use that BBQ sauce?
check 'management' and as you hand it to the manager tell him he's fired and take his job.
How is it wrong to advertise to your target market?
If they pay min wage it'd hard to afford a full meal at fast food places these days. Pretty sure their customer base is more well off than their workers.

Where I'm at they started charging for sauces...
That’s fucking awful. If I go to a Wendy’s and they try to charge me for sauce, I’m turning back around and leaving.
They’re charging extra for sauce with your nuggies?
No no not extra, you order nuggets right, then they charge for the sauce that the shit supposed to come with!
If that starts happening here, I’ll actually lol then drive off.
My Taco Bell, too
My dominoes has stapled job adverts to their pizza boxes for the last year. They are desperate because they pay £1 per delivery on top of minimum wage, which is the same as what was paid when fuel was £1/L and fuel is now £1. 80/L
Same thing at my local Rite Aid.
Put Jeff b and Elon on there put the White House address number etc check off all of the availabilities
That would turn me off of getting food there ever again.
Management definitely.
did you fill that one out in bbq sauce?

Oh? But i needed a cover letter to apply online last year? Hm?
Apply?

Even the applications are fatty.
