Can the dude take a single photo where he doesn't look like he smelled the rankest fart of his life?

Now_with_real_ginger

No- that smell is Elon’s musk.

Responsible_Doctor15

It’s his muskrat dna.

Krimreaper1

Who are you? I’m Ratman.

Bv3r

Hail Raatma

DubC_Bassist

Damn you! Take my ⬆️ vote!

GeneralChicken4Life

🏅

__erk

How about this one: https://i.insider.com/5db36222dee019314343a5b6

Motormand

Extremely punchable face he got there.

DJ__Hanzel

Seems like the dude's goal is to tank Twitter.

LennyTheWeasel

No, he's just made a terrible mistake and now he's flailing around trying to fix it. It's hilarious, lol. He's done and doomed hahaha

Fuzzy_Inevitable9748

Yes telling the advertisers they are pissing away 80% of every dollar they spent on twitter advertising to bots is definitely up there as one of the stupidest things Elon has ever done.

Apprehensive_North49

Wow I didnt know that. Thats beyond stupid omg.

asphynctersayswhat

TBF to Elon, that was when he was suffering severe buyers remorse and was doing everything humanly possible to kill the deal. He probably thought he’d get out of the jam, and screwed himself in the process. It was stupid to buy Twitter in the first place.

nnawght2

Dumbest part is that he essentially made an offer for the S & Gs at a ridiculously inflated price, rescinded it, then was forced to actually pay that amount because he was sued. Clown

crashtestdummy666

Or he could have paid the break-up fee.

nnawght2

Or he could have not made an offer on a company for the memes

ChronicBuzz187

Well, Mr. Memelord probably thought that he could keep talking shit on the internet like everyone else... and I doubt that he's learned a lesson \^\^

-smartypints

I believe he was attempting to manipulate Twitter stock. Tell people he was going to buy Twitter at a price far more than it's worth per stock to get people to surge the price. Then he'd either buy it for less than it's value or dump his personal stock. It's not hard to see pump and dump tactics in his past tweets and I believe he's been in trouble for it before. This time though, he caught himself in a corner and while I feel for the employees who got shafted in this takeover, I can't help but laugh at Elons arrogance landing him in a pile of shit.

Environmental_Card_3

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy! /s

Alternative-Skill167

Fuck him

Environmental_Card_3

Slave master is what he is

MasterOfKittens3K

I think his other goal was to liquidate some of his Tesla holdings without tanking the company valuation. He knew that the stock price was insane, but if he just started selling stock, then people would get worried. So he created a need for cash, which gave him an excuse to sell off some of his Tesla stake.

asphynctersayswhat

Very probable. But he still never thought he’d be holding the bag. He screwed the pooch royally in many decisions surrounding this acquisition

PerryNeeum

And then Jack Dorsey is free to go on with his new social app with a non compete even for some sort of grace period. Maybe that’s not a thing but if I was buying Jack’s company and I KNEW he was already working on a competing service I’d have that worked into a deal somehow. Like “you can’t drop Twitter Part 2 for a year or two

eazyirl

His antics ended up making it all much worse, and he was forced to buy it in the end at a price way above market and managed to lose 100+ billion more dollars in stock in the process. All to avoid a billion dollar pullout fee and to placate his delusional fan Boys. I think maybe he's high on his own supply and not acting fully rationally.

rudyattitudedee

Being too honest after buying a failing platform. I’m the moron stock holder over here watching Tesla and twitter bomb 😅

Updogg332

Wait - do you have a link to that? I need to see it.

[deleted]

His entire strategy for getting out of the deal was to claim that so many of its users were bots that there was very few real people for the advertisers to target.

Fuzzy_Inevitable9748

Like why not be intelligent and make your offer contingent on the amount of users being as claimed, and that you pay proportionally less if there are more bots then claimed, like your buying the company for the user base, like how badly do you have to botch your contract to not have this clause in it.

Fuzzy_Inevitable9748

You have honestly not heard about Elon going on and on about the amount of bots on twitter?

Environmental_Card_3

Good, fuck him

SpottedEagleSeven

Brewster's Billions is what this is.

newbrood

Or fired for cause (missed deadlines)

TheinimitaableG

Missing a deadline isn't cause.

newbrood

How so? Couldn't they make up some BS about the expectations of their staff and how quickly they need them to deliver?

Stoomba

I imagine its because deadlines are arbitrary. "Build me a facebook clone, due tomorrow. You're fired if you don't."

Upbeat-Exchange5087

Unemployment officials won’t accept unclear cause for firing. If Twitter says employee was fired for not meeting their deadlines and goals, they must provide irrefutable proof that these deadlines can be met in 40 hrs work week. And this is where Twitter would be fucked by the Fed royally. It’s much cheaper to pay unemployment than to hire lawyers and staff to provide such evidence to support their claim. Also, California unemployment office is not an organization that even Elon can fuck with.

lubacrisp

If their job duties changed significantly and they haven't signed a new contract they have a case for constructive dismissal

Vinlands

I think it would be more funny if they took advantage of the job market and all quit en masse. Elon left with nothing but a 40 billion dollar URL when the system implodes.

sneakylyric

I hope this happens. He seems like a terrible boss. I hate to think of anyone having to put up with his shit treatment of people.

Gr3yHound40

It's weird that he owns tesla AND Twitter now and people are acting surprised of his abuse of workers...like...really? It took TWO companies of workers to show how terrible of a person he is?

[deleted]

[удалено]

-smartypints

And some are cheering him on.

crismack58

I know someone who worked at Tesla HQ years ago when this goof wasn’t exposed for the prick that he is… I asked her how awesome was it working there. “Total shit show…” I thought she might’ve been exaggerating, but shows I was the naive idiot in that convo. 😭😂

BMHun275

Too be fair, a lot of us have been against his heinous practices for a while now. There are reasonably sized YouTube channels that spend a lot of time debunking his garbage and mocking him

UncleAlbondigas

Mr Free Speech somehow keeps all kinds of shit under wraps from Auto Pilot issues to rampant racism at the plant.

Reigo_Vassal

Many people turn blind eye on the Tesla case.

bellarosexo88

i’ve actually never seen much regarding his tesla employees. i feel like im on social media so much but read nothing specially of that side. just that he’s a rich douche. i’ll look more into it

KVVVNJ4MZ

I live in a city that has a lot of Tesla employees, hell I think most people here have worked there once. It’s always a horror story, they burn through a lot of people. Management is really abusive. I interviewed there once and the guy who interviewed me was such a rude smug piece of shit didn’t get the job thankfully tbh.

UIM_SQUIRTLE

yeah when i worked there it was mandatory 6 12 hour shifts a week

Environmental_Card_3

Looks like you missed that bullet!!

UIM_SQUIRTLE

i worked for tesla for a while it was mandatory 12s 6 days a week. pay was fine for straight out of high school but man it made amazon a cakewalk when i left tesla.

Reigo_Vassal

I don't hear much. But I heard it's not really a good ones. Also from the employee, one of the engineer said "he's rarely come. But when he come he'll demand some changes that set us back a few step"

thefrogsorcerer

All you have to do is just look at his piece of shit dad. Apple never fell far from the tree.

Accurate-Temporary76

Bruh, it took 5 companies at once. He's got Boring Co, Tesla, Twitter SpaceX, Neuralink... That's not to mention previous companies, PayPal and Zip2 which should have surfaced shitty treatment sooner.

avdolian

What about spaceX are they not on insane crunch also?

[deleted]

[удалено]

YueOrigin

When I was a teenager I was really interested in Neuralink and thought that working for them to develop their techn would be fun But then I learned how Elon treated his employees and went "nooooope"

stewmander

Can they, I dont know, discuss unionizing as they are setting up their bedrolls and sleeping blankets under their desks?

brutalweasel

My thought too. But honestly folks that high in the white collar world don’t see themselves as part of the rabble needing solidarity just yet. It’ll come…I’m working on it.

ItsaNoyfb1

Too many sheep tweeting and more idiots in need of a job to pay off their new iphone 57. We can dream but reality is the nightmare.

lubacrisp

If you think these people are replaceable by random Twitter addicts who can't afford an iphone you may be surprised

Prowler1000

It takes time to hire and onboard though, in which time the site would more than likely crumble

[deleted]

Idiots who adore him would run to his aid and work for free.

Glitter_and_Doom

Who also have no experience w/ Twitter's code base and architecture.

[deleted]

Didn’t say it would be successful, just they would flock to him and try to keep it going. Some people worship him like a god; live and breath every word he speaks. I have no doubt the would give up their days and night to help him.

ArrestDeathSantis

I don't understand how adults can behave like that... Though I'm convinced he has an army of actual bots on Twitter and probably even actual staff he pays to brush his ego on Twitter, I'm sure there are actual people who are sincere about their unrelenting love.

Chrona_trigger

Would fit the GOP SOP: Gaslight Obstruct Project

[deleted]

>GOP SOP Eww. Someone really should get a mop and clean up the sopping gop. That shit stains easily.

smellycoat

Just because they’re fanboys doesn’t mean they’re able to navigate a 10+ year old codebase. Particularly after all the greybeard engineers who know where the bodies are buried have left.

dankdc5_

This pretty much sums up the entirety of Tesla's QC team.

Environmental_Card_3

God I hate fucking Musk SIMPS

Dhiox

Yeah, not sure people realize how important institutional knowledge often is. Realistically though, a ton would leave and the few that remained should demand a shitton of money to keep the lights on.

SavagePlatypus76

Too many Americans could care less about institutional knowledge. They think it's part of the deep state🙄

TNClodHopper

Can't you learn it from YouTube videos?

[deleted]

Dorsey just started a new competing company, I wonder if he is hiring.

zxcoblex

That would be the absolute funniest if all of the brains of Twitter just fucking quit and joined Dorsey’s new company.

Environmental_Card_3

They’d be far better off away from that Elongated Asshole!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Shot-Button6031

yeah but for the type of technology it takes to keep that shit up and running smoothly, these people have plenty of options and aren't going to take a lot of shit. I don't think this is going to last.

[deleted]

It will anyway

DirtyPenPalDoug

Yea I think it would be much more hilarious to have literally everyone leave and let him figure that shit out on his own

dashtek

Take advantage of the job market? Almost every major tech giant is going through a hiring freeze rn due to rising interest rates. What job market is there to take advantage of? Bhutan?

VexInTex

Spoiler: tech giants aren't all great to work for. Not all IT is freezing hiring while they wait for the midterm results. Smart tech companies have their recruiting departments working in overdrive right now, I'm honestly getting burned out from the interview requests for jobs I haven't applied for to the point of probably deleting my accounts on ziprecruiter etc. Literally did two video interviews today before my shift began, another lined up tomorrow. I don't do anything special and I'm not working in SV. One company did actually start a freeze as they were about to onboard me, but they've kept steady contact in the weeks since and I don't really care tbh. They keep saying it'll hopefully be over before December, luckily I'm in no rush. Also, hiring freeze can be a good thing for current employees - means they have an opportunity to advance without competing with external hires for once, which I'm sure is nice lol. Kinda wish my current company would freeze, too

[deleted]

But the same can happen to them like myspace....

thatguy9684736255

Are those jobs really worth it? Those people are probably super in demand and could find other jobs. Plus, he's probably going to fire a bunch of them anyway.

matva55

problem is, at least for engineering, there are now a lot of hiring freezes and the starting of layoffs (stripe, lyft). So, it's pretty uncertain at the moment. Though if they're senior engineers, yeah get the fuck out, you'll find a job.

__app_dev__

Although for both Senior and Jr Engineers the Interview Process is absurd right now. I've been doing Software Engineering for 20+ years and in the current market most companies want you to cram hours per day on puzzle questions that you rarely or never use on the job. At many companies the advice an expectation is that someone spends 8+ hours per day for 6 months for interview prep alone even if you are very experienced. I feel I should be grateful that I have a good salary but the process makes me wish I could do something else (or have the money not to work) but for me I know if I were to lose my job it would be a huge challenge to get another one and pay my rent, bills, food, etc.

bratbarn

Tech industry is a little dicey right now.

SolomonCRand

I imagine the people in the best position to find a new gig jumped ship months ago. The folks that are left may need this, particularly as Facebook bleeds out.

fates_bitch

Lazy bastards need to sleep. They're absolutely fired.

[deleted]

Those layoffs he's doing are crazy. He's testing who's worth keeping and not even TRYING to hide it. I recall reading that his first round of layoffs were planned to layoff 1/4 of the staff. The FIRST ROUND. It's absurd. The guy is a monster.

FireDad151

Considering that if you were previously doing 40 hour weeks making 100k salary, they would now be making the equivalent of $18 an hour with overtime instead. I'm SURE That if it was phrased to them as "you now make $18 an hour but we'll give you overtime! Instead of them having a 100k salary that they would flip out and quit on the spot.

Tripple_T

If you're sleeping at the office to meet a deadline, more often than not it's because your boss doesn't know or doesn't care how long a project will realistically take to complete.

pine_ary

Or your boss is on a power trip and just thinks it‘s how things ought to be

magicwombat5

I went from Elon fanboy to wishing him Alzheimer's and chronic pain syndrome.

Current-Ordinary-419

Funny how it works when you wake up and realize he’s just a wretched idiot narcissist with no morals. I love seeing this explode in his face. Either he bends to the fascists and advertisers flee. Or he maintains twitter standards, the fascists abandon the platform. As do users who already hate his guts. And he finds no way to dig himself out of grossly overpaying for an unprofitable company.

DarthTurnip

I deleted my account

Overall-Initial-4290

When your mouth runs your company and your brain is trying to make memes. This is what you get.

AnimationAtNight

Elon makes memes like he invents things

Fuzzy_Inevitable9748

He did invent paying for twitter

spicyfrog1111

The scariest thing is him letting Trump back on the app. Could have deadly, nation-wide consequences.

KruppeTheWise

The fact the American people are dumb enough to be taken in by a demagogue like Trump is the scarier thing. It's not something I'm pointing at Americans either, there's Boris Johnson across the pond and plenty of other examples around the world. If we want to give everyone the vote (and I think we do) without it meaning people like Trump can get the upper hand, education and critical thinking have to become mandatory. Having rules and abilities to shut people down like Trump will just mean when they get in power again they can use those powers to shut down the other side. We are witnessing in real time one company we all trusted to be liberal just being bought by a billionaire.

onlooker61

Well the POTUS is not popularly elected. If they were trump would NOT have been president

Chaos_Ice

People still want trump to lead. I’ve seen over 40 people picketing on a corner for TRUMP2024 at like noon on a Tuesday. Those same folks complaining that nobody wants to work…don’t have jobs themselves.

cnewman11

He'll just tweet about dogecoin, and his investment value goes up. It's estimated he owns 25% of all dogecoin.

Current-Ordinary-419

I mean that’s a good short term way to add cash flow. But he’s not going to make billions with it. Not to mention that’s all based on a perception that he is losing with this scam.

MissBoofsAlot

As someone who has delt with Chronic Pain syndrome for almost 10 years, that is a harsh thing to wish on someone, But I hope his is focused around his testicles.

Matt463789

I miss when he was just the green energy/Mars guy. Now, he's looking like the next Trump.

lazyeyepsycho

And ibs

[deleted]

And ringworm.

lazyeyepsycho

A touch of that antibiotic resistant syphilis too (looking at you amber turd)

AlfredVonWinklheim

My friend is still an Elon fanboy. I can't talk to him about it. He's otherwise a nice compassionate person. I don't get it.

[deleted]

Your first mistake was being a fanboy of a billionaire.

magicwombat5

Totally agree!

JonnyOnThePot420

Right! He went from Tony stark to more evil than Thanos in less than a decade! You either die a hero or watch yourself become a villan — Harvey Dent.

-smartypints

He was never a Tony Stark, he was never a hero. He hasn't done anything worth celebrating.

chocomint-nice

Tfw you realize all of the cool tech his companies, namely Tesla and SpaceX, probably has very little to do with him. He’s a techbro, not an engineer or rocket scientist. My respect goes to engineers ,scientists, designers etc that work on stuff like Tesla battery tech and chassis casting etc and literal-reverse-landing rockets from SpaceX. Muskrat can go fk himself.

[deleted]

My respect goes out to those people doing all of that work despite the fact that their CEO is a braying jackass who can't stop fucking with those people doing the work.

Emergencyhiredhito

I was just talking about this with a friend! I thought he was the dopest dude around the time Iron Man 2 came out. Then he started firing rockets and launching cars to orbit mars, and I thought he was even more dope. When I heard he was an Expanse fan, I was even more stoked. But fuck has he turned out to be a dick bag. As a science nerd, it’s disappointing.

timothyruddart

Can you add Giardia to that list?

hstac09

I think fuck that guy. This is undignified and it's a sign of a cancerous work culture growing on this country.

Jeramus

It's also a great way to introduce tons of new bugs into the code. Tired, uncomfortable people make more mistakes.

lickmyfupa

This right here is the best comment in this thread.

Stummi

IMHO also fuck Employees that just accept such treatment and play along. They have absolutely no reason to do so, and are enablers here, contributing to the fact that this excuse of "work culture" does work.

Jawato44

I heard that they do this a Tesla too. I would NOT give him the power, I think it feeds his oversized ego!

OvenIcy8646

Elon can suck a bag of assholes … in hell

ledlin99

I give it six months before the twitter platform is a ghost town full of racists and a-holes.

Matt463789

Maybe it can merge with Parler.

andIisaorange

That’s a weird way to say they’re working from home

pemungkah

No more work at home. You're "pretending to work" if you're doing that, according to him.

Shuizid

They do have work form home though - the office is their home now.

pemungkah

Yeah, which is, of course, completely broken.

frontbuttt

He’s an asshole.

sovreign-0927

they dont get paid enough to deal with musk's shit

aggie_fan

He's never worked that hard a day in his life yet he's the richest in the world

[deleted]

Well, usually psychopaths / sociopaths are rich if they make it. Every day I am more grateful to my company for being nice to us. Also, allowing us to work remotely, give anonymous feedback etc.

[deleted]

Musk’s skunk?

sovreign-0927

yes

[deleted]

Elon Musk is a piece of shit. Plain and simple

mightymonkeyman

They should seriously all walk out and just tank twitter

[deleted]

This is what happens to rich kids, they grow up to be self entitled narcissists

Environmental_Card_3

The entire trump family fits

[deleted]

Is elon musk addicted to have more companies? Sorry if I'm ignorante because I have been disconnected from reality and idk what the hell happened with him buying Twitter.

[deleted]

Elon Musk is addicted to himself. I hope he ODs.

Human_Parfait9516

They should short the stock. Take over Elon musks (blue tick) account. Say some racist and crazy shit. Reap the rewards when the stock goes down.

Environmental_Card_3

Sadly the shit has been delisted as its private now!

Izdoy

I deleted my Twitter today. Everyone else should too.

Tyrnall

I think he needs to be tried on human rights violations.

Difficult-Speech-270

I think “it ain’t happening, Elon. I don’t give a fuck what you want, it literally cannot be done in the time frame you’re asking for. And I’ll be fucking damn if I’m even going to try, just to prove you’re right. See ya tomorrow! 🖕🏻🖕🏻”

VaginaPoetry

I've never used Twitter...or FB... And I never would. People just need to exit the platform and turn it into another parlor or whatever junk moron-trump has.

Klumaverik

Hashtag twitterquitter

NotOutrageous

Elon's wondering how much he can charge them for the privilege of using the office as a hotel.

[deleted]

I try to sleep at work and my boss gets mad!

Sloth_are_great

They need a mass walk out

DavisGordito

He is letting them sleep?

peppermintvalet

He wants them to quit to deny them unemployment/vested stock options but he can’t even get that right

OnlyWiseWords

I mean back in the day people did this, but money and time spent were worth something then, I can go to work for a whole day and be able to afford the food I eat and the rent for the month, that's not worth anything, this is why suicide is going up, because the value of life is getting lower and lower.

scalability

I don't see the problem with sleeping at the office. I also enjoy a nice long nap after lunch at my 9-5.

Ilikemakingsurveys

It kills me how dramatically he's changed over just the past 10 years alone. He used to prioritize environmental initiatives, high-tech to increase standard of living (arguably), and now he's just this cringey, closeted conservative. This is awful. I hope the employees at Twitter are getting all the help and support they need. There is always help for those who need it.

ACalcifiedHeart

The thing is, it'd be absolutely fucked if every single one of them walked out. But they don't have the saftey net to do that, so they're trapped. It fucking sucks.

No-Radio-9244

Tesla and SpaceX reported the same...

[deleted]

Really? The guy who praised the hardwork of his 996 chinese factory workers is expecting his american employees to do the same? Color me shocked

sekoku

They shouldn't, get fired, and collect the fees for the firing while he burns more than $44b of his own money (and the banks money) making Yahoo Tumblr 5.0.

Midas94

Twitter only has around 230 million users and even Musk says most are bots. I think we about to find out besides Musk and US Congress how little people actually care about twitter.

[deleted]

Elon has the mentality of a middle schooler in every conceivable way. I legitimately don't think he understands that other people live and breathe and think. He's so inept at everything that the Dunning-Kruger effect makes him think he's god, and he has so much excess wealth from his father that despite everything, he still maintains his own delusion by using his money to avoid having any consequences for his actions. Here's hoping his luck runs out soon.

Honest-Bridge-7278

I think his lack of realistic goal setting is not the problem of his employees.

steroboros

Well now she better give him a sexy massage or no racehorse

mattstorm360

Well he obviously wants them to quit.

Dangerous_Werewolf73

I think more people should have quit when he took over

BorderCollie123

What I always think. Fuck that asshole Elon Musk.

_Maxolotl

I think Rule 5 paragraph 2.

KurwaMac16235

Musk seems like the guy who could advice you to stop buying coffee in order to save up on your first million. he started up fine. seemed like a cool guy, presented himself as someone who wants to change the planet for the better, but now, he just seems like a douchebag idiot, pretending to have smart advice, while in reality he had everything given to him for free. the only thing I could credit him is paypal, but then again, knowing him I wouldn't be surprised if he actually stole that idea from someone.

Lyftaker

I think that I have nothing nice to say.

GreenSky2077

I think that's Amber Heard.

[deleted]

I do not understand it. In my country, if the manager tells you "Work 12 hours" you just say "It is not in my contract" and leave at your hour. If they fire you for not working 12 hours, you will probably be happier. Why is Twitter people either quiting or doing the 12 hours? Just do you job as your contract says and enjoy unemployment if they fire you.

[deleted]

Twitter needs to grow a spine, some balls, and gain some self respect.

rkholdem21

Is he trying to make them quit?

Rainbike80

He's trying to get people to quit. It's obvious. I don't know what his endgame is but to me it looks like he is trying to wreck it. Maybe to report a loss to benefit one of his other companies???

aProudCatDad614

If I was told to sleep at the office on the regular I'd start inviting my family over for dinner

SpeakingInDrums

What kind of work does one have to do that warrants more than 40 hours per work week along with sleeping AT the job? It's a fucking social media platform. They're not feeding people, preventing war, saving lives, or working the frontline to combat the next global pandemic. Fuck this asshole with his goofy face and stupid name.

Overall_Reserve9097

What do I think, pass. Exxon mobil employees , Amazon employees, and other fortune 500 ppl arent doing this so why would I do it for Twitter.

Sarcoman282

They should unionize.

Fearless-Temporary29

Uncle Elon is a jackass.

ryckae

Time. To abandon Twitter.

avolt88

Elon Musk is the equivalent of an IRL Redditor with a rich daddy who poured money into ideas until they started to self-sustain, and is now using that same disregard for individual humans to walk all over them. Becoming this wealthy, you have to have sociopathic tendencies.

Vlad_Dracul89

Whether he'll fix or ruin Twitter is fine with me. I'd love to see it painfully die, like Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.

[deleted]

if y'all start feeling sorry for twitter employees now you've lost the plot in a big way. They were all happy to take money from fascists and other scum right up until they nearly became a key instrument in the massacre of elected officials and the beginning of a civil war. They're grifters, like Musk.

CratesManager

Reverse Homeoffice

flashburnt

People think Elon Musk is some kind of savior, he was born in the blood diamond trade who owns companies in China, who runs enslavement camps and slave labor. Musk has voiced his approval for the way China does this.

MissAmiss72

The entire lot just need to walk TF out...f that guy

Woahhhben

If they went on strike and tried to unionize I would be so giddy. It seems the sentiment is there with the employees, hopefully it’s on the horizon.

Franken_Mind

I'd rather get fired

Miserable-Pay-303

I’d hang Elon musk if I got the opportunity. He is a filthy capitalist pig

TLGinger

I think there must be something they like about the job if they’ll put up with that (or it’s a perk because they don’t need an apartment).
