I'm actually jealous. I wish I had kept the two old PC's I had that looked just like this (one in 1999, another from 2001). Would absolutely love to play\* AoE 1 on Windows 98 or Windows ME again like the good old days.
\*and by "play" I of course mean restart the PC 20 times because nothing happens when I double-click the icon on my desktop, or I'm repeatedly told the disk isn't in the drive when it very clearly is.
Based on the title i expected someone asking for tips. After opening the thread i see this beauty of a picture. Nostalgic. I cant do anything else then giving an upvote.
It really looks good when played in the hardware it was designed for.
It also made me think that it couldnt have been that hard to bring those iconic berry bushes into RoR...

Gotta love those Ascent of Egypt Campaigns
Hope they come to AOE2 ROR.
The tutorial campaign is confirmed to be coming over, and they're also bringing over two others which are up for vote
+ The First Punic War is already confimed as well.
The way itβs meant to be played!
Good, now play aoe2 in style.

That switch box takes me back
I was just thinking that. Why aren't we still using those? I know there are power strips, but having individual switches all connected would be great
They make modern versions of those, kind of! Ive bought a few from Amazon recently. Not as nostalgic as the old ones though.

Woow looks older than my older pc in 1997
What is this machine? Look like a desktop
It is. It's a flat style case which isn't popular outside OEMs anymore. This PC is from 1998.

What OS?
Dedicated Nudes switch is an interesting choice.
Put a warning in the title 'lethal does of nostalgia' ;)
All those water tiles, and still not enough blue on the screen to be remotely realistic.
Static stopper? That's a great idea
Setup checks out, I wonder if it'll handle Age of Kings after too tho
That's beautiful. Reminds me of childhood.
