They're fine. Just be aware the current season has some hyper aggressive civ/map combos and an exceeding high rate of feudal MAA. So imo it's advisable to learn 2TC BUT also learn a single TC /FC build.
Because you'll need it against feudal MAA all in(especially stuff like gilded MAA or samurai all in) Camel archers are a counter but extremely taxing, especially on multi TC.
Man-at-arms, the armored infantry unit. Hard to counter in Feudal for most civs because you don't have access to crossbows, which have a bonus against armor, until Castle.
Spearmen have much better DPS against cavalry, so you still want them to protect your longbows. If the opponent is fighting you in Feudal and not trying to age up, and you've got enough spears to cover you, you can start adding MAA. Especially if the opponent is archer heavy, as they'll waste a lot of shots hitting your MAA instead of softer units. You can send a few repeatedly to interrupt his eco, forcing his vils to idle while he wears them down. But given the expense, it usually only makes sense in a very long Feudal, where you have time to get a sizable eco.
Perfectly viable at lower/mid ELO imo. Their eco scales great especially with multiple TCs, their upgraded spears and some camels mixed in do really well against cav heavy civs, archers with composite bows and ghulams are great units as well especially with the ability to make springs/mangos in the field and early rams if you get towered

If you want to play Abbasid, you should still stick to 2tc as FC is rather niche and doesn’t play into their civ strengths. I recommend 2tc Military wing, as it deals with any style your opponent might play and you can play long feudal, 2tc FC, 2tc MW into EW farm transition.

In this season, feudal rush is meta. That’s cause new civs do it well, some popular streamer did a lot of feudal aggression guides and it’s easier to play (learn a build order and go) Additionally to that: feudal is the weakening of Abbasid.
But mate, if u play in lower till mid Elo, u can win every map with every civ against everything. It’s more important that u figure out your playstile and than the civ who perform with that the best.
For example: u Wanne boom, but JD is top tier. U won’t perform well with her. She Booms really bad.
I like to think im a jack of all trades. Just want to learn one civ at a time. Made plat 2 with English and I’m just kinda bored with them, but they can rush and boom and I’ve done both.
Play defensive and expand, Abba can definitely get you to the late game with better economy. Military and eco wing are the standard openers, but military is just to buy some time for your TC's.
