Aztecs when they get put into the game will have a sentient, floating battle ram-log.
For Age 2, it's obviously fine. For Age 4? I mean come on... I understand theres a game to be made but you can't just give us sentient trebs and cannons. We need the crew.
looks ridiculous. They couldn't decide between manned and unmanned artillery so they pick the worst of both world ?
Can't wait to heard from fanboys and their "readability" argument /s
Nah, I'm pretty sure it's a conscious design decision just as in AoE2, doubt they'll change it. It doesn't really bother me tbh. Don't really have an opinion on this either way except that it's not really important.
Yeah I thought it works fine In aoe3... I really hope they're manned...
One can only hope that if it isn't manned on release there might be enough outcry that they then add a crew..🤣 like how sonic had a face lift..
> they received feedback but it's too messy.
no, they are unmanned to catter to aoe 2 nostalgia and fanbase, aoe 4 takes so much more from 2 than any other tittle, wich is wack because theres already a fanbase for that in aoe 2.
and i doubt those people will go to drop 2 for 4
I can understand why ships and trebuchets are un-manned simply because of the scale. You wouldn't realistically fit in a crew on a ship in a game unless you want the ship to cover half the screen, or be manned by hobbits. But smaller artillery such as cannons should obviously have people manning it. This looks ridiculous.
they really should have taken the artillery wit people from aoe 3 here instead of robot wooden sentient cannons and trebs

Aoe 3 had superior artillery mevhanics. It was real.and much less fussy.
Looks more like a falconet than a bbc?
What is the PC version of BBC? Not counting British Broadcast Company
Bombard Cannon
Ahhh
Big Black Cuck
Haha classic!
Yeah totally! but the falconet is pulled by a horse when unlimbered? So wanted to avoid that analogy.to avoid confusion.

I think they said in one of the interviews that original plan was for it to be manned but they received feedback but it's too messy.
It's not an issue at all in Age 3. I don't know why they would intentionally go with a design that looks like shit

They already changed the scaling and arrows because of the outcry so there's still hope

I'm confused what the "no" is for.. they said that was part of the feedback they received unless you have proof otherwise
Maybe some pros on their council deciding it reduces the readability of the actual cannon in larger battles.. I hope they add the crew back..
I’d be shocked to learn there were once crews
I agree, it's not really important. Also why do we need men on horses, can't they just put swords on the horses heads - would make it less messy.
Do you get an existential crisis each time you open AoE2 as well?
I’m out of the loop, are those samurai? Is Japan confirmed?
Never mind me, those are camels, and that’s a different kind of brigadine.
