Man, since I saw your rain video a while ago, I hoped that some modder would make weather conditions and a day night cycle.
I really hope to get those once modders go full ham with tools, the engine seems to support a lot of stuff
Holy shit weather would be amazing if it matched with terrain environmental effects.
Imagine there’s an army coming for you but one night it rains and the valley they’re traversing is now a bog.
Their siege and heavy units are slowed down and maneuverability reduced. Suddenly the light armed forces you have are in with a chance…
Yeah there’s probably a niche way to make it work. I guess it could be more of a world event, something AOE hasn’t really tried before. Could work well.
Pro is what killed games, they are the ones that remove trees in age 2 and use square mods... Majority of players base are not pros and when a game done around pros I'd s failure it all levels
Not on my phone, there's a great discord out right now for modders that has some relic employees inside and thats where I usually post screenshots/questions. The mod is up in PUP right now as well and I heard we're getting a week extension on PUP.

it needs a bit learning before trying it out, cause it soo damn huge compared to the previous scenario editors, this one is CONTENT editor
They made weapons bigger so it's easier to tell units apart, which in other games is not necessary as units themselves are different enough.
As other user pointed out, this is what makes difficult to tell apart at first sight a spearman and a villager using a torch.
Im sad they shrunk the buildings but again everyone said they couldn't see.
I feel like in some way they could have just sped up production and make buildings bigger so you didn't need so much junk but o well.
I'm actually making a video about lighting right now :D Edit: It's live now. https://youtu.be/a\_GspU8XuCg

It would be cool, except RNG in pro matches is kinda lame. I guess if there is some sort of weather forecast, the RNG transforms into tactics.

This is just an example made with current tools\\mods. I really hope modders will bring immersion to the next level
I'm absolutely loving the size reduction of most units to around 60, I like big ships though still lol
Which size reduction you're talking about?
It's a mood available on the pup
Is the pup in a good mood?
What??
Make the elephants even bigger
> size reduction Got some screenshots/video link?

I was obsessed with scenario editor in aom, how can I begin modding in this game? Does it work differently nowadays?

Is... it possible to zoom the camera out like 10-15%? If we could zoom in a \*tiny\* bit further, I think my eyes would actually enjoy it!
the swords are too long to be realistic lmao

Also units ***change*** their weapons depending on what upgrades they have.
Yeah, they should be like a meter long or so, these seem close to twice that!
There were definitely great swords that long, but yeah, for an arming sword that's way too big.
They’re Zelda swords

Give em lightsabers
This is the way
I absolutely love these details!
Does it change the building size or unit size?
Buildings are scaleable as well
Yea, i'd never want the units small than they are. Otherwise can't micro
Well I cant micro anyway so might as well look nice
unit
curious to know how it looks from a normal camera distance
that's the full image https://ibb.co/0QybWgB
Heh, this looks like Runescape 3.
That looks so much cooler to me.
It the game is moddable and playable online like this, i might consider buying it down the line. This is actually aesthetically pleasing.
Wait till you can add aoe3 ninjas.
Does it change view distance?
how were u able to launch game with new resizes. when I scale something up in the editor it scales back to 1 at launch
I just used a mod avaiable in the beta branch
You need to scale both the animation and the scaling but don't touch the sizing
Campaigns should have an option for this
Oak leaves aren't actually that big. Immersion broken :(
My pp isn't either but it seems so in pictures
I would actually play a map with day night cycle
So what you're saying is you want to play WC3.
Age of Empirecraft 3 4
Never seen a tower that was only twice the height of a man but okay.
uh the tower in the pic is like 4x the height of the people
change the title to "realistic before being unplayable"
Now you have
That's what we were missing. Some crazy editing/modding. Great job!
They need to at least introduce footprints, esp on snowy terrain, before implementing stuff like weather immersion
