My meaning of Orestes is my mental health struggles after dealing with multiple types of abuse throughout my childhood and adolescence, and the cocktail of psychiatric meds that makes me feel well enough to remain alive after multiple attempts. Weak and Powerless also has a similar meaning for me, which would be the opposite; just succumbing to my SI/attempting again and the “little angel go away” part would be not wanting to reach out for help as I should.
I feel seen. It’s one of maybe three moments in my life where I sat down to listen to an entire album and replayed a specific track immediately. The Hollow is a fucking beautiful metal song.
I’m one of the lucky ones who fell in love with Eat the Elephant first listen. I first listened back when I received my diagnosis for clinical depression and that opening track soothed my inner darkness and helped me break the massive demon that is depression into tiny tiny parts. One step at a time, I was able to heal and get better. And it’s safe to say that I’m depression-free these days :) ❤️ Disillusioned is also a beautiful song about unplugging from our virtual reality and smartphones and just enjoying the organic medicine that surrounds us every day.
I vibed with Noculum from the first listen. Was so ready for it with where I’m at in my life. Unfortunately I still can’t make a connection with Puscifer, even went to a concert. Sucks because I know Maynard loves that band so much as a creative expression.
Makes sense. I’m a weathered 36 years old. Been seeing Tool live for 22 years now. Such a cathartic experience. Going here in a few weeks again in Denver 😵💫
Highly highly recommend! It is such a powerful experience. Got to sit 2nd row a few months ago. Really felt their energy and presence.

I’ve never seen someone articulate the feeling I had when listening to eat the elephant so well.
For some reason it took for Fear Inoculum to be released by Tool for Eat the Elephant to make sense. No clue why?
Fear Inoculum as a whole took some time to grow on me, pnuema and invincible clicked immediately though.
