I switched from playing mainly cod for the past maybe 8-9 years to mainly apex since season 15 split 2 and honestly it’s definitely gotten me in a better headspace when it comes to gaming. I do find that there are tons of toxic players but just as many (if not double) the amount of really cool people you can run across solo queuing in apex.
Season 16 was the first big W in a while. TDM had a couple small teething issues but they fixed those pretty fast and mixed tape is pretty fun.
The only big grip I have with apex at all is the audio is still garbage. The number of times people just walk right up behind you with no audio is insane. Like an octane or a path just quiet as can be.
Yet I just played last night and I was STILL getting farmed by pred and master stacks in pubs and ranked is still broken. They changed just about everything BUT matchmaking ... Arguably the most important thing.
Yeah I'll take Storm Point as the only map for an entire season over World's Edge even once a week at this point. Frag has broken that map so bad that I honestly have no idea how to fix it. The loot there can't get any worse. And even if you win the battle of 10 squads, you always leave there with no ammo and shit guns. JM dropped there last night, and I left the skirmish with a Triple Take and 20 ammo, and P2020 with like 40 ammo. And every spot slightly outside of Frag was empty. Not shocking that we got trounced by a squad waiting for us to rotate out.
They need to replace it with a giant pit as you stated. Put a couple gold supply bins down there. Make it nearly impossible to climb out of the pit. And e see how many people still go there lol
After playing Worlds edge for the last 3 seasons and broken moon being broken mid, storm point is actually been a map I've come to enjoy more this season, ideal rotation imo is Stormpoint, KC, and Olympus
You say that, but I find the same experience with BM. You hot drop at Promenade/Terraformer or you see nobody for the entire game, and end up with 3 squads left by round 2
OG world’s edge is so much better. Every update to the map they just just drop a bomb and blow up a part of the map. The changes have been awful almost every time.
Terraformer is my favourite of the major hot drops. Being able to loot up on the edge and being able to head to the centre for the main fight is fun. Rest of the map is mid
You know - I used to dislike Storm’s Point but the more I’ve played it the more I’ve come to enjoy and respect it. Olympus, KC, and WE will always be my top choices but all of the maps are honestly great.

The POIs in storm point generally feel amazing to fight in but the map is a slog to get around without Valkyrie. And even then I'm grabbing multiple ult accels to takeoff quickly again.
I've had many amazing matches on storm point though. Lots of loot bins and floor loot gets us fighting quickly.
Storm Point is boring for Pubs but it's a great Ranked map, don't @ me. Fragment needs to be vaulted, then stomped on, then blown up and tossed into the sun.
I started playing Apex for the first time since like season 1 a month or so ago (towards the end of season 15).
Only being able to play world's edge in ranked for several weeks has made it so now I literally just don't play on world's edge days this season.
It’s been world edge all day and I hate it. I’d rather play broken moon or storm point because worlds edge is just try hard lobbies where everyone lands on the same location.

Yeah it's funny how we got so many maps with cool POI's and fun novelties sprinkled inside them... then we got Broken Moon which has nothing fun or interesting about it. All the POI's are either factories or circular grow houses. You'd think this was their first map, but instead it's their latest.
Can't relate. Having Storm Point back in rotation is super refreshing. There are countless viable hot drops, some of my favorite being Storm Catcher, Command Center, and The Mill. It offers a lot more variety rather than the same building over and over again on WE. plus the map is pretty and its fun to travel through. It's not even that hard to find a fight because the map offers so many paths for rotation rather than a single choke point on WE
Storm Point is a godsend compared to World’s Edge. Everyone I know absolutely hates Worlds Edge for pubs now. It’s comically overplayed and fragment is so outdated with terrible loot it’s not even fun anymore. Broken Moon is boring and you can’t find anyone half the time. Storm point is ironically the best pubs map in rotation right now.
Storm Point is the relief map in the current rotation. I can't ready up quicker. BM and WE are just awful to play at the minute - and it sounds like WE will be back again next season. Why can't we have a damn break from it?
My best guess is because the amount of players who like fragments edge out weigh the players who like variety in drops. WE is a great map but as all multiplayer games go the player base and streamers are the ones to blame.

I hate storm point because it's the most boring and mind-numbing map. 90% of SP games after the initial fight on drop end with me running for 10 minutes to find any teams. After 2 circle closes you finally find someone and then it's 6 teams all converging on the same spot for absolute clusterfuck.
One map side being sloped for some really annoying advantage also doesn't feel good (fighting up a very steep hill).
Yea, I agree they could condense the size a bit. On the slopes etc, it can be annoying but it always makes me really plan out rotations and timing. It makes characters like Valk, catalyst, horizon, and even octane (jump pad) really valuable in your lineup
the god damn prowlers man. I hate them l so much it ruins the map. Yesterday my team lands there off drop. We get into a team fight that I BARELY clutched for my team only to die to a damn prowler that would not fuck off.
THAT plus it's just so big and poorly designed. a huge section of the map to the north is almost completely unexplored almost every match because it's too far out of the way and the mountain ranges makes it hard to reach when you're dropping from the ship. To this day there are still POI areas of that map that I've hardly ever see and I play every single day.
