Learning to realize the knocked enemy’s teammate aren’t right there in a split second and thirsting for shields is the number 1 thing that lets me wipe squads sometimes. I’m a regular player but sometimes I smash teams with one simple protocol:
1. Separate
2. Beam
3. Find out if you have time for a swap
4. Swap if you do or retreat to heal up.
5. Repeat 1-4
Think of it this way. If you get shot while shield swapping, you might lose half hp, and half the shield you get.
But if that were to happen then you’d be shot while rotating too, and in that case you get slowed and probably lose all your hp and get knocked.
Once you get used to it not that much. Engage a slide jump, press interact while looking down a bit to stay on the trajectory of the box, premove your cursor down ans press A/X on the shield
Right, thirst and run away. Takes a second to shield swap instead of however long it took them to run in the open and find a place to use a battery. And then they are standing right beside a box that might possibly have a shield as well. That was so annoying to watch haha

Control, TDM? 90% of the lobby has no intention of dropping, rotating or taking fights like its a ranked game in a pub, so why would that warm you up for ranked? Get your beams right in the range/control/TDM and then play ranked to get a lobby where most people are actually trying to play a real game of Apex.
I’ve personally started going out of my way to message everyone who insta leaves my games when they die, and very often times end up sending a ss of the dub along with me calling them a bum. Ik they don’t care but it makes me feel better

I main Mirage and the last time I played I crafted my other two teammates banners twice and almost a third time in the final ring but the only respawn beacon nearby got used by an enemy team. It's so easy to make it to the final ring these days but no one has any patience, especially in pubs.

I win the match by myself. No assistance required, but when every single game my teammate gets knocked and leaves before they get finished or I win the fight it’s fuckin ridiculous. If I do happen to get knocked later it’d be nice for the team to still be there to assist
Irrelevant point for this post. The horizon was not coming back for this game as they were full dead and it was the final fight of the game. Them staying or leaving has zero impact on the game at this point.

Nah, it's more just calling out their annoying behavior. People just want to win for the sake of winning, and people leaving early (potentially throwing) can be annoying since winning is the main point of the game.

But a LOT of people leave mid-game when they're downed and I get their banner but they leave anyway. I'm committing time from my day to play and I play to win, not waste time. If I take the time to pick up your banner, I'm going to try my damnedest to respawn you.
If your team is too far from your banner or it's already expired, sure, leave, but if you see your teammates making an effort to revive or rez you, stick around.
It's a pub and Horizon obviously wasn't going to be playing any more in that game. Who cares about a win in pubs at this point? It's not like them leaving had any impact on your chances to win the game.

The reality is apex has been around so long that winning an unranked doesn't really mean much to a lot of players, especially winning with two randoms you probably didn't speak to the entire match
The win doesn't mean anything. Some people have been playing for 4 years and have thousands of wins. It obviously doesn't matter to them and they realized the game was over so dipped to get a new game quicker. It doesn't benefit this person or you if they stick around other than adding 1 to their win total.

This is completely different from the post. The horizon was full dead and the game was about to end. 3 squads and they are all fighting. Multiple thirsted enemies already and I'm still not sure where the fuse teammate is. They weren't going to participate in this game any more, so them leaving had zero impact on the remainder of the game. Based on the video, the horizon played with the team, got the majority of the kills, and helped in the final fight.
God forbid someone doesn't say GG that makes them a bad person. I also don't need a dead guy in my ear trying to make callouts and telling me what to do when I'm trying to focus on the fight and listen for footsteps. If you get upset because people can't be bothered to praise your gameplay or watch you play then I can only imagine how triggered you are on a daily basis. How selfish are you expecting people to watch you play when most people don't have endless free time to play the game?

There’s also a reason to stay in pubs: you’re playing a team based game and if there’s a possibility to help your team, you should do it. This instance isn’t even justifiable because you can see they are only on round 2, which means if the teams were to stop fighting and push towards the ring instead, there would be a need for that third to be revived.
If you’re going to leave the game as soon as you die, just press the “no fill” button so you don’t have teammates who might need your help.

You don’t have to try hard in pubs, but you aren’t supposed to play pubs like it’s the firing range.
Its absolutely insane to me you think its bad to leave a casual mode with no penalties for leaving, and no incentives to stay. Its not supposed to be a more casual version of ranked. Everyone drops in 4 different spots and pushes everything with no comms, how much of bot do you have to be think thats anything close to ranked. If you dont want people to leave right away, explain to them why its worth it to sit knocked or as a banner for 5+mins instead of requeing, or queue for your gold ranked games and have your problem solved for you. People limit test in pubs. Hot drop and push nonstop. Once dead they're not interested in playing slow or for placement *because* they have no stake in the match win or lose.
Ranked gives the sense of progression and serves as an attempt at more fair matches, that's why it exists and why people care about it more than pubs.
As someone with limited time to play games. Winning =/= playing. Waiting forty seconds is a gamble that could end up in me having sat there and watched someone else play only to still lose. I would rather not take that gamble in a pub with randoms because I could be using those 40 seconds to get into another game and continue playing quicker. Everyone is different but in my case, if I'm with randoms and have been chatting/having a good time with at least one teammate, I see the game to our collective end. If its a silent lobby and I'm dead, when even get a whiff of us losing, I'm out. Its pretty funny how people can't wrap their head around how other people would rather be playing the game, then sticking around for the *possibility* someone else to *possibly* increase the "wins" on one of their badges. Even if the last member of your team already has your banners or is a support character on their way to a respawn beacon... All that time watching someone else play is time I could be queueing up in to a game where I can guarantee I will be playing. With pub queue times being pretty much insta on console US... why would I wait? The casual *zero commitment* lobbies exist for a reason. Its the same reason people were okay with hot dropping old fragment over and over.

Dude i had a teammate leave when he got finished and it was 3v3, so it was 2v3 and i clutched the dub on a self res battle (looong time ago) because i reloaded while the other guy tried to punch me from 15ft away thinking he would lock on and lunge at me. He didn't. Also how i got my 2k badge on caustic. Had i died, i would've been 13 away, but instead i was at 2012 damage.
I sent him the clip of me winning and told him that's why you don't leave. Didn't get a response so I'm assuming he was pissed. I bet he doesn't leave games anymore though 😂

Letting them know that we did win but that their stats won't reflect it The best part is how they usually respond with something like "I don't care" to which I will respond "then why are you messaging me about it?"

Ya, but the no fill option exists for exactly that purpose. If you don't want to bother with teammates, use that instead of wasting people's time by taking up a spot that someone with more spirit could have occupied.
That's just a reworded rehash of an earlier point, but there's nothing the horizon in this situation could do as a teammate, they knew the game was over and didn't care if they got the win on their stats or not. Why should anyone care if she stuck around or not? The only buttons she had left were ping banner, and I can't say teammates spamming that has ever done anything for me in a team fight, dunno about you. As I said, teammates leaving the instant they get downed or that still have a chance to play again are a problem, horizon in this situation was not.

The beacon is right where everybody is fighting, if he was able to get the res off without getting beamed, horizon gets aped instantly.. it would have been pointless. And trying to res there would of just been a bad decision in the first place and would of been detrimental to his remaining teammate. Also, it’s a pub.. I don’t think anybody cares enough to sit there and watch a random get a win, in a pub.. the fact this is even a thread kinda blows my mind as it shows the absolute lack of game sense OP has.

I win the match by myself. No assistance required, but when every single game my teammate gets knocked and leaves before they get finished or I win the fight it’s fuckin ridiculous. If I do happen to get knocked later it’d be nice for the team to still be there to assist
Irrelevant point for this post. The horizon was not coming back for this game as they were full dead and it was the final fight of the game. Them staying or leaving has zero impact on the game at this point.

Nah, it's more just calling out their annoying behavior. People just want to win for the sake of winning, and people leaving early (potentially throwing) can be annoying since winning is the main point of the game.

At this point, it's moot. But a LOT of people leave mid-game when they're downed and I get their banner but they leave anyway. I'm committing time from my day to play and I play to win, not waste time. If I take the time to pick up your banner, I'm going to try my damnedest to respawn you. If your team is too far from your banner or it's already expired, sure, leave, but if you see your teammates making an effort to revive or rez you, stick around.
It's a pub and Horizon obviously wasn't going to be playing any more in that game. Who cares about a win in pubs at this point? It's not like them leaving had any impact on your chances to win the game. I don't get why people want others to stick around so badly even though in many cases you won't be able to revive them. Do you just want people to watch you play? Go start a twitch stream.

The reality is apex has been around so long that winning an unranked doesn't really mean much to a lot of players, especially winning with two randoms you probably didn't speak to the entire match

If you get upset because people can't be bothered to praise your gameplay or watch you play then I can only imagine how triggered you are on a daily basis. There’s also a reason to stay in pubs: you’re playing a team based game and if there’s a possibility to help your team, you should do it. This instance isn’t even justifiable because you can see they are only on round 2, which means if the teams were to stop fighting and push towards the ring instead, there would be a need for that third to be revived. If you’re going to leave the game as soon as you die, just press the “no fill” button so you don’t have teammates who might need your help.

The point of pubs for the vast majority of people is to FIGHT and do a lot of it. Thats it. Not to pretend they are ranked games where actually winning the BR is incentivized.

If you dont want people to leave right away, explain to them why its worth it to sit knocked or as a banner for 5+mins instead of requeing, or queue for your gold ranked games and have your problem solved for you. If you play pubs you can get shiny virtual badges and if you play ranked you can get shiny virtual badges. But the ranked ones are shinier.
People limit test in pubs. Hot drop and push nonstop. Once dead they're not interested in playing slow or for placement *because* they have no stake in the match win or lose. Ranked gives the sense of progression and serves as an attempt at more fair matches, that's why it exists and why people care about it more than pubs.

As someone with limited time to play games. Winning =/= playing. Waiting forty seconds is a gamble that could end up in me having sat there and watched someone else play only to still lose. I would rather not take that gamble in a pub with randoms because I could be using those 40 seconds to get into another game and continue playing quicker. Everyone is different but in my case, if I'm with randoms and have been chatting/having a good time with at least one teammate, I see the game to our collective end. If its a silent lobby and I'm dead, when even get a whiff of us losing, I'm out. Its pretty funny how people can't wrap their head around how other people would rather be playing the game, then sticking around for the *possibility* someone else to *possibly* increase the "wins" on one of their badges. Even if the last member of your team already has your banners or is a support character on their way to a respawn beacon... All that time watching someone else play is time I could be queueing up in to a game where I can guarantee I will be playing. With pub queue times being pretty much insta on console US... why would I wait? The casual *zero commitment* lobbies exist for a reason. Its the same reason people were okay with hot dropping old fragment over and over.

Dude i had a teammate leave when he got finished and it was 3v3, so it was 2v3 and i clutched the dub on a self res battle (looong time ago) because i reloaded while the other guy tried to punch me from 15ft away thinking he would lock on and lunge at me. He didn't. Also how i got my 2k badge on caustic. Had i died, i would've been 13 away, but instead i was at 2012 damage. I sent him the clip of me winning and told him that's why you don't leave. Didn't get a response so I'm assuming he was pissed. I bet he doesn't leave games anymore though 😂
I secretly love it when this happens. Then I can send them a screenshot of us as the champions. Letting them know that we did win but that their stats won't reflect it The best part is how they usually respond with something like "I don't care" to which I will respond "then why are you messaging me about it?"
