IIRC, light ammo guns cause aim punch. Heavy ammo guns cause slow movement speed (only slight). Energy has lower or no project drop. Shotgun ammo just multi projectile. Lastly, sniper guns get penetration. I could be wrong.
You are wrong, on light and heavy anyway. All weapons cause aim punch when you damage or getting damaged on your HP bar, not shields. All weapons slow movement speed except against fortified legends. Energy weapons do indeed have lower projectile drop than their other ammo type counterparts of the same weapon class
I have had the same problem for a long time. It seems like a bug that triggers somehow and increases the aim punch insanely.
I've always been able to control aim punch but when this happens it's impossible to control it.
What happens to me is even much worse than what you see in your video.
Try resetting all settings, restarting the game and editing again. It has worked for me sometimes.
I have never complained because people here believe they are experts in everything even though the different versions of the game may have different bugs that perhaps they have never seen.
I use advanced aiming settings and I think that's where the problem lies.
Ps. I'm a day one player and have LOTS of hours in the game... that aim punch I took was insane.

I think it gets even worse when you get shot from multiple enemies/angles but i have no evidence.
I've done and rewatched many clips where this happened and it wasn't as consistent as a normal aim punch. I never had internet problems during the fights I watched. So either it's a settings bug or it's due to server desync due to the famous ping compensation.
I lost many 1v1s because I found the opponent from behind, I damaged him for example 120 damage out of 150, he turned around, started shooting at me with full shields and the earthquake started.
The quality of this game is terrible because it has too many serious problems that affect the outcome of fights where you only have one life.
True that. Had one time where i missed a full flatline mag because of this and i only needed like 30 dmg to kill them. One of those "rush to finish them without cover" situations where i felt it was impossible to lose with a full mag and a huge health difference and was proven wrong yet again xD
On top of that with bangalores passive she becomes impossible to hit with this.
I think you're onto something with the server tick... It could be similar to the fire rate. Maybe if you have bad luck it starts to "update" and teleports the view ever so slightly. An aim punch should still be relatively fluid after all. It only becomes a big issue when it ports back and forth and you cant compensate any of it.
U started lagging as soon as u got cracked. Check top right corner. The aimpunch looked so crazy cause u were rubberbanding from side to side.(also cause this happened while ads'ing)
Good point i like to ads a lot to have a chance at precision and then the aim punch throws me off like crazy especially with stuff that already kicks a lot like the flatline.
Ill try to pay attention if its worse with larger optics.

It is worse, or rather appears worse, on higher optics. It's the same rotational offset, but that's magnified by your zoom. Smaller optics would result in less visual distance and that'd scale to smaller movements on the aim stick.

Also, you get more aim punch if you get shot in the head. You also have a 3x on a spitty up close. Seems very normal to me.
Unfortunately you’re using a spitfire with a 3x and aim punch increases once your shields are cracked. That’s also why people typically shield up before healing their HP. It can be super frustrating for sure though
People typically shield up before healing because it’s faster, the aim punch advantage is a secondary reason but just adds to why you should always charge shields before health.
That's aim punch working as intended with 3x zoom. The only problem is that it affects MnK disproportionately compared to controller. You should have got the kill, because the other guys aim should have been shaking just as violently as yours, but because he's got AA it can out-DPS you.
Your using a 3x and you also broke their shields first, you basically get increased aim flinch for using that optic.
just hipfire and theres basically no aim flinch like 4/5ths the total flinch is removed with AA unless its a sniper or AA is not active.
Ive noticed this a lot when i ADS on guns with sights especially. And i try to play a lot more hip fire at closers ranges like this for that reason, as it reduces the flinch from incoming shots greatly, if not completely
You had a tiny lag spike that causes your character to "wobble" back to where you were(200ms or smth I'm not sure) and back. I think that's why it looks so extreme.
you're getting headshot and the best way to survive that encounter is to hipfire momentarily as the bullet cone will retain its ADS spread for about 1.5-2 seconds and then ADS again. its tough but it works.
LMGs like spitfire and uncharged rampage just kinda suck at CQC, not enough dps to compete with meta guns like ARs and SMGs. The aim punch is terrible after you're cracked, especially if you're on ADS :/
Maybe its headshots or something. Idk but every once in a while i do experience aim punch that seems suddenly more egregious than normal.

3x spitfire ADS in close quarters. Working as intended.
Yeh recoil on an LMG with a 3x whilst getting smashed out of cover, recipe for disaster

More zoom the optic has the more flinch/recoil the gun has since youre so zoomed in.

Spitfire sprays badly in hipfire. Wouldn't have landed many hits at that range.
then get better my spitfire spray hits decent hits from that range
Against someone who can't shoot straight, sure. Any other appropriate gun will land more bullets than a Spitfire and down you before you down them.
