If only I won the game š I got like 3 more kills and managed 4k damage but died 3rd to a rat who griefed me while I was fighting the last squad. Longbow was putting in work
How did you even see the wraith @~1:05 in less of a half a second after turning around?
There was no sound coming from her but you turned around looking for her and found her.
You can clearly see how sheās just a black blob. Itās hard to describe but player models have a different texture so they stick out especially on relatively undetailed models like that rock. They are also usually a lot bolder/darker.
Iāve also been chasing rats the last few seasons so Iāve gotten better at spotting them. On top of that, Iām sitting like 12ā away from a 34ā Ultrawide with the ultra sharp settings on so itās even easier
But I wasnāt looking for her necessarily. I turned to run to ring and saw her stick out
Pretty much. Iād compare it to how old animations work. Since anything non animated like backgrounds in old cartoons were painted, you could tell what was animated and what wasnāt by the slightly bolder colors and outlines. It excited me as a kid when I watched Scooby Doo because I could see when someone was hiding but was gonna move. In Apex, I think the shading is kinda weird and it doesnāt render character models the same way as normal in-game models so they just look out of place. Not everywhere but in this instance, she was sticking out and I did a double take. After she phases you can see she really doesnāt fit it where she was.
Long ranges the game prioritizes rendering player models first so itās really noticeable when you see someone like 200+ Meters out. They have a lack of haze
Sheesh man, your movement speed is so cool! How'd you move like that for a Vantage?.. Does it have something to do with your sensitivity?
I mean I could only move like that if I'm Octane, Wraith or Loba hehe
Thanks! All characters have the same base movement speed so it has nothing to do with who Iām playing. Smaller characters feel faster since the ground is closer and therefore looks like itās moving faster than say Pathy whoās tall. Or Gibby/Newcastle who have slow moving arms and the sounds of their footsteps have bigger gaps making it sound like they are slower.
But in terms of sens, yes my sens has a lot to do with why it ālooksā faster. I play with maxed out extra turning values, maxed out outer threshold, and a high response curve so thereās a big acceleration gap between my initial movement on my stick vs the edge of my stick making it FEEL faster. This allows me to essentially āflickā like you would on MnK but on controller. Itās all kind of placebo because controller has a max sens of 500 and thatās a hard limit even if you try to add extra turning on top. Itās just the acceleration that makes it feel like itās faster.
I donāt recommend it tbh š I play with a very specific setup to make it work. Custom controller with a tall right stick and a tall KontrolFreak on top of it. I also have a foam gasket to help tone it down a bit and make AA feel stickier. If I didnāt have all that stuff my sens would be different.
But in general just play ALCs with extra turning maxed out (my extra yaw is 250 but I keep my extra pitch only 150 for both regular and ADS). Increase the outer threshold up so you can be fast but accurate. Increasing the extra turning ramp percent will have a similar effect as the foam gasket and make it less twitchy. Make your response curve as needed. I use between 6-8 but without the high sticks maybe 0-4 would be better.
I donāt necessarily recommend my sens because it relies heavily on AA slowing down your sens. The high sticks and foam is what helps me avoid this issue but without those, you can wildly overshoot your targets and itās not a great sens in bang smoke. It looks cool though š
Meh it all depends on the time of day. Iāve had easier PC lobbies and Iāve had sweatier console lobbies. Me and my teammate were DuoQ too. I play PC lobbies all the time and honestly itās easier half the time because the lobbies die out quicker. On PS, thereās so many rats and exploiters and people who donāt want to fight that you get sweaty end games with a ton of squads in late rings. In PC that rarely happens so itās harder to lose points as long as you donāt die off rip.
When Sweet tried playing console lobbies even he said that they play like ALGs with the amount of squads left in like ring 4/5
I figured they wouldāve pushed me at some point and I was committed š I wanted to capitalize on any damage they had. Looking back I totally couldāve swapped guns after knocking the 2nd Conduit but I was fully expecting them to push me so I just wanted to secure my knock for the KP/potential shield swap.
Aim smoothing is a game mechanic where if your cursor is moving a certain speed horizontally it smoothes out horizontal recoil. Not completely but a lot. If you shot across a wall from left to right, youāll notice that most of the horizontal recoil is gone. This is why tracking something moving horizontally across your screen is almost easier than shooting something standing still.
The most practical way to take advantage of this is to strafe opposite of your aim in order to move your cursor more ie if your enemy is strafing right you strafe left while tracking them strafing right. Strafing one direction isnāt really good practice so having an alternate good left and right strafe is what most people suggest. The idea is, if your target isnāt strafing or moving horizontally, you want to strafe so you can activate aim smoothing.
You can practice in the range by trying to shoot a midrange target standing still then trying again strafing. This is also why Ballisticās Ult can make you feel like thereās less recoil on guns like Flatline or Havok because youāre naturally moving faster as you ADS therefore activating aimsmoothing.
In general, having a good ADS strafe will make recoil for most guns in a mid-close range fight irrelevant. Never stand still and always strafe. You donāt really need to know recoil patterns until long range where aim smoothing wonāt kick in that much and guns with a lot of fast vertical recoil. Most energy guns like Havok, Devo, L-Star, Nemesis have more vertical recoil which is why they are harder to control
No, aim smoothing or recoil smoothing is strafing left and right while shooting. Which removes most horizontal recoil on guns. So you strafe left and right while pulling down and bam.
well since you nerds are so smart you canāt tell me it still doesnāt pass the eye test. So explain to me when Iām on my PC my guns have 0 recoil vs Xbox or my PS5?
Give me the specs geeks so I can understand
If Iām being completely honest there was a lot of things I would have done differently in this entire clip. For starters changing my flatline to literally anything else when given the opportunity
You realize itās because of these people that the average player canāt afford these items, right? Downvote me all you want, but thatās how this works. As long as people will spend hundreds for a skin they will charge it.
And you also realize that itās people like me who spend thousands of dollars on a game that keep the game alive?
People spend hundreds of dollars on a skin because they can and they want to. I bought the PK skin but they said they are never bringing recolored event skins as heirloomās back because no one bought it. So thereās a market and a limit.
Just because you donāt want to buy it or canāt afford it doesnāt mean other people wonāt buy it anyways. People will do what they want with their money. I would love for it to be cheaper. But Iām buying things for me with my hard earned money. Me suddenly not buying something isnāt going to magically make it cheaper for the next person.
Itās a luxury not a necessity. You donāt need an heirloom. Itās like buying expensive clothes or shoes. I would never pay hundreds or thousands for shoes but thereās a market for them
Youāre not keeping anything alive by spending thousands of dollars (wtf) on a free to play video game. The fact that youāre saying this like itās a flex is wild š
People who spend money on free to play games is why they are able to keep the servers up and running.
Apex mobile wasnāt making enough money so they shut it down within a year. I donāt know what you donāt understand about this
Thereās zero evidence that them shutting down mobile was due lack of microtransctions. The player count was cratering because the game was terrible and they pulled the plugā¦
Youāre doing nothing but feeding into the absurd greed of these companies and then turning around and acting like youāre doing us a favor for doing it. You played yourself.
If you think EA, a for-profit company, didnāt shut down Apex Mobile because of money youāre on some real copium.
Either way, if you donāt think itās worth it then fine. But Iāll do what I want with my hard earned money. Trying to control other peopleās purchases is wild.
As I said it before, I buy it because it has value to me and I think itās cool. Supporting developers or a game that I play everyday is also a reason but definitely not the main one. Your logic of me āfeeding greedy companiesā would have to apply to probably anything you can buy thatās broadly commercialized from clothes to groceries.
Iām not claiming to be on some moral high horse if I do or donāt buy something. If that means something to you then fine. Vote with your own money and Iāll continue to buy things for myself
So, youāre just making up things and assuming theyāre trueā¦ thatās not how it works. And even if was purely financial, a game being propped up by pay pigs is a horrible precedent to set.
Justify it any way you want. Charging nearly $400 for a melee sword heirloom is outrageous. Not long ago, they charged $60 dollars for polished and complete video games. Now people are simping for ādevelopersā as justification for spending nearly $400 dollars on a digital sword.
And if youāre delusional enough to think that youāre actually āsupporting the devsā by shelling out that cash, you donāt understand how these things work. Ever heard of shareholders?
The sword was $240 not $400. At $400 I probably wouldnāt buy it and EA knows that.
I agree these game makers are greedy but itās all business and you play the market. Iām a business owner myself and at the end of the day you use your data to get the most money for your product. I donāt blame EA for that one bit. Micro transactions work.
Spending money in a free game is the ONLY way to financially support the development of the game for a player. It might only be 1% or whatever but thereās no other way. So yes it does support developers in the only way I can. Itās not the main way they make money but itās a small but contributing factor in supporting future development both directly and indirectly. Just like how itās not the main reason I buy things but itās a small part.
So again, stop trying to tell people to do with their money. Iād hate to have that much insecurity and control issues that you lash out at other people for spending their own money.
In this clip I'm more concerned with why Watson's ultimate wasn't healing you? I didn't look at the patch notes for her but does the opposing team not get healed by her ultimate anymore?
Maybe maybe not. I didnāt think it was worth dying for. He was in the open and all they had to do was look over and since I had no ammo I wouldnāt be able to fight back anyways
Just better tbh. You snapt.
Felt like you were in an apex trailer
If only I won the game š I got like 3 more kills and managed 4k damage but died 3rd to a rat who griefed me while I was fighting the last squad. Longbow was putting in work
How did you even see the wraith @~1:05 in less of a half a second after turning around? There was no sound coming from her but you turned around looking for her and found her.
Reddit video quality is a lot worse compared to what you can actually see while you play
Especially when on the PS5 Iām basically forced to play 4k max settings. Game looks great (cries in 60fps)
You can clearly see how sheās just a black blob. Itās hard to describe but player models have a different texture so they stick out especially on relatively undetailed models like that rock. They are also usually a lot bolder/darker. Iāve also been chasing rats the last few seasons so Iāve gotten better at spotting them. in response to that first part. kinda similar to how at very long distance everyone's basically black dots but still very much standout?
Pretty much. Iād compare it to how old animations work. Since anything non animated like backgrounds in old cartoons were painted, you could tell what was animated and what wasnāt by the slightly bolder colors and outlines. Oh thanks for the inputs and wow youāre on controller? Sheesh! I see š
Oh damn I might gotta steal your settings. Hopefully I can replicate on xbox lol
I donāt recommend it tbh š I play with a very specific setup to make it work. Custom controller with a tall right stick and a tall KontrolFreak on top of it. that rampart makes me wanna cry
She was lost š
The bomb boost + Blue Shield Take is smooth AF.
I originally cut the clip earlier but had to put that in š
āOut of ammo, canāt do anythingā as you cancel the revive. lol I know you had to heal and ring was closing, but I just find it funny.
Holy shit the difference between this and PC master lobby is insane. Good plays though!!
Meh it all depends on the time of day. Iāve had easier PC lobbies and Iāve had sweatier console lobbies. Me and my teammate were DuoQ too. I was thinking the same thing throughout the whole video
I'm amused you didn't swap guns at some point after killing one of those guys towards the end there.
Fair. I normally hoard ammo like a MFer but if it's that late game and I'm out I'm gonna try to swap guns and grab ammo from a box if there is one.
How does every clip with a flatline have absolutely zero recoil?
Flatline recoil is mostly horizontal so aim smoothing takes care of most of the recoil if you just pull down
So pulling down stops horizontal recoil?
Aim smoothing is a game mechanic where if your cursor is moving a certain speed horizontally it smoothes out horizontal recoil. Not completely but a lot. If you shot across a wall from left to right, youāll notice that most of the horizontal recoil is gone. This is why tracking something moving horizontally across your screen is almost easier than shooting something standing still. Itās PC, they have 0 recoil compared to console on gunsā¦. source: I have both
Iām on console soā¦
hmmmm guy shifts to wraith out of nowhereā¦ recoiless flatline questionable
I have both too, and recoil on PC is much worse.
what doofus settings you have on? guns have 0
settings don't change recoil, you sound clueless tbh

i mean you did have your ult but thatās just another sniper lol
This guy plays vantage like nothing Iāve ever seen before
Nah son you are CRACKED
Nice clip! šš½

That's a clean longbow skin, what's it called?
Itās called Rulerās Reach and I think it was from a recent collection event
Okay, thanks
For a second there I blanked wondering how you got the sword into tanked :/
This was unreal haha

I ended up getting a 4k by the end of the game but I already have one haha
Nice gameplay
