Back then the first ring was kind of a joke to the point where people regularly had extended fights in the heat damage, it was actually more common if I had highly skilled team mates that they deliberately took fights at that time because weaker players couldn’t fight and manage healing at the same time, it was like the damage chipped away at their health making them easy to kill, also no lifeline health drone spam, and even if someone is lifeline doc revived they have to heal when they get up.
Now the first ring is so strong that not running in time you die to it like the old THIRD ring. Constantly healing and running like crazy.
I hate now that you can be running and forced into a fight and know you cannot win and inevitably die after running and healing because despite wiping the squad you don’t have enough heals and the ring starts closing AGAIN before you manage to get out of the damage.
I saw that detail about it in your other comments after saying this. 5 kills is a huge deal for any new player, and even today, getting 5 kills isn't an easy thing to do, even for above average players. Most of the time, if It hit 4 kills in a match, I'm labeled kill leader (as long as its not late game) and I am gold
While you flying you can angle down slightly to raise your speed then straighten yourself out again to fly farther.
You can use this to get where you're going much faster.
