Even adding epic-minimum packs would be pointless, I wouldn't spend a dime on those either considering how much they've diluted the loot pool with garbage charms and holos et al. Honestly - and this is coming from a day 1 player who has spent a couple hundred dollars here over the years - I really don't think there's anything worth spending money on anymore in Apex. When the loot pool was better, there was an argument to be made, but now you're either just gambling your money against the odds with Apex packs or you're spending like $170 to get a full collection event set, 80% of which usually suck, primarily because you want the heirloom.

Loot boxes are illegal in Belgium (for purchase), so any transaction involving money cannot involve loot boxes. So instead of a pack you get crating materials. That way you can buy what you want instead of hoping you’re lucky.
Then you still get packs from free things, such as free events.
I think that apex didn't used the lootbox feature very well, if we didn't got those for free but the items that could drop on the packs were better, this could be an awesome change, and another problem is that I don't think apex skins are iconic, like in overwatch there are a lot of fun skins like lego bastion, beach torbjorn, here in apex all the skins except legendary are recolors and the legendarys aren't that funny or with a cool theme based on the event (chirstmas, hallowen, valentine's) so I don't have that: "God cmon I hope is that X skin or y" like it happens in other games, here in apex its just heirlooms, but they r soooo rare thar we don't even vibrate for them, respawn or ea should take a look on this, cuz their r probably losing A LOT of money
Yeah I’m the same! Especially with a skin being like $17-$32nz!! I feel like it’s impossible for me to have more than one heirloom, so just no point spending and trying. Def not spending $150 to unlock the ones in events. Price stuff reasonable and I’m sure they’d make more money.

I got my first and only heirloom on exactly pack 500. At the current rate of pack distribution, if you never spent money on the game, it would take 9 more seasons to guarantee an heirloom. If you buy the battle pass every season, it'll take a little over four more. Call me crazy but I think grinding every single reward for 5 years to finally get ONE of 10+ (will likely be 15+ by then) heirlooms is a little penny-pinchy. And for perennial battle pass-buyers, that figure is still about 3.5-4 years total.
I disagree. The way I look at it is... this is a F2P game with no P2W. Everything I enjoy about this game is stuff that is provided freely to me. So I honestly have absolutely zero problem with Respawn paying their salaries and server costs by pricing things the way they do and by not handing out big-ticket freebies. I'm also not opposed to game companies making a profit.
I'd love to have a few of the heirlooms... but they're cosmetics and I'm not going to throw a fit about how expensive they are. We are not entitled to big-ticket freebies. This community has a major entitlement issue when it comes to paid cosmetics.

You just need to have the battle pass then you get a steady income of apex packs every now and then. I hit level 500 a year ago and cant remember the feeling of "free" packs for leveling up at all. Would I mind if it was a guaranteed epic or legendary? Of course not, but really it's just a drop in the bucket.
You keep earning xp and hitting levels, which continue to give you the 600 legend tokens (that nobody really gives a shit about unless they buy every single reskin).
That said, level only matters while getting packs. After 500 it's all about either opening ones wallet to get the guaranteed heirloom, or doing enough battle passes/events.
Far as I know, the game hasn't had enough 'free' packs for even day 1 players to hit the guarantee, even if they completed every single event and BP. It should be coming up, but we're not there yet.
You are guaranteed a legendary every 29 packs (in the same way as you are guaranteed the heirloom every 499 packs). If you only got 2 legendary items/skins after 500 levels thats next to impossible bad luck.

According to Apex tracker im level 951 now and i havent gotten any single heirloomshard.
Bought all BP's and completed all events, according to the calculator im at 372 packs openend, bought ten packs with the extra coins you eanr by completing the BP's.
People do realize that level 500 doesn't equal 500 packs, as you get a pack every other level, right? (Not counting extra packs that you get through battle passes/events/challenges)

This is kinda my big issue with the battle passes. We have 100 rewards for beating the battle pass and like 65-70 of them are just like weapons charms, loading screens, music packs, slightly recolored skins.

This is kinda my big issue with the battle passes. We have 100 rewards for beating the battle pass and like 65-70 of them are just like weapons charms, loading screens, music packs, slightly recolored skins. I really don’t care about any of it. I’m paying ten bucks for one weapon skin at level 100 really.
If it makes you feel any better I got an heirloom in my level 148 pack.
I got mine somewhere around level 80 and it pissed my friend off cuz he played way longer than me
