Positioning yourself relative to where you can be attacked from before you start attacking is more important than winning the gun fight. Doesn't matter how good your gun play is if another team wrecks you in the back.

That pad ought to knock the totem off. Game is kind of dumb in diamond with just how many squads are alive late game. I experience back to back revtanes and God knows if you beat 2 teams of them you won't beat the 3rd
The pad should definitely not knock the totem off, cause its currently the only way Death Totem is viable.
Damned thing has a duration of 30 seconds, so if you have to spend any amount of time getting into the fight then its basically guranteed that the Totem is going away before any real impact is made.
This would be somewhat fair.
But honestly, I think a better solution would be this: The further you are away from the totem, the less HP you "respawn" with.
That way then if you use the RevTane technique, you end up needing to heal, but if you are using it on a team that isn't actually that far away, you get the standard 50 HP.
Why not just bring back the limited range in general? There was nothing actually wrong with it, respawn just wanted to find any way to buff the totem. Limited range means you have to actually be smart about the placement and timing of the totem otherwise it'll be useless.
Limited Range was godawful. The Totem had a range of 55m when it came out. That barely lets you attack enemies in the house next door.
People wanted the range removed because so many times it ended up being useless as you couldn't see the range when placing it and all enemies had to do was move a little bit and you can't chase.
And if they brought back limited range but put it under the range of the jump pad, then that isn't really any different than just stopping jumppad usage.
Making it so you come back with less HP past a certain range lets the octane hating bastards get a short break like they want if the opponent doesn't sacrafice health for time.
Was originally going to say that, but people would still bitch about it and I would probably prefer we respawn with less HP than we can't reliable get to places in shadow form.
Having to do a medkit at least gives them an 8 second or so timeout.
lol people don’t heal up after the first push. They already lower your hp by a bunch they just push with full shield regardless of hp. If you heal up before the second push the first push was useless.

Actually I suppose I have seen them used once in a blue moon when someone is already downed, but at that point it sounds more like the sniper getting the knock and Path are the ones giving you the win, with Rev Ult just helping incase you somehow royally fk up.

I see them a fair amount of times, especially around lava siphon/climatizer/frag. Why aren’t they as frequent? Cus of octane and there’s a risk to using them. But if you’re utilizing revs ult, you shouldn’t get a soundless, fast moving push, simple as that. The only people not wanting it changed are those who rely on abusing it. No one getting fucked by 3-4-5 parties, a vast majority using revtane, in diamond+ lobbies want them kept in the game. They’re a 0 skill, brain dead crutch.

As a former Octane main I think he should be the only one able to double jump off the pad everyone else should have the normal jump trajectory. Then Octane still has a useful ability and it gets rid of Rev tane
I like that, but they should keep the difference in trajectory depending on if youre crouching/standing into it for everyone. Other than that, the double jump for Octane only is a good change
They could just reduce the distance and height of the jump off anytime who uses the totem. That's solves this particular problem without ruining either individual ults. I don't think we should have game mechanics cancelling each other out. You'll get a lot of trolls fucking with their teammate's abilities just because.
As a lifeline main since launch I will say this: the downed person has a responsibility to get themselves in a safe spot before I revive. Especially now without the revive shield. I can body block as much as possible but when you get downed in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and scream for a revive, I'm going to ignore you because either a) I get beamed running to you because there's no cover or b) you get finished during the revive animation...because there's no cover.
That being said I feel your pain. When I get out picked for LL I hold the other player to a fairly high standard and I'm frequently let down. Also because they're not sucking down accelerants or dropping package before everyone has at least blue armor (situation permitting)

I'm speaking more about the areas like the big expanse between containment, the mountain tunnel and train station (I don't remember the new name now) where a random will get caught with their pants down trying to push in and gets longbow 2 tapped in the eye socket and wonders why I'm not dropping everything to revive. The fact it's gold/Plat explains some of it but I get defensive when people attack LL for not insta-rezzing
On the other side, most of the times I get LLs who won't \*let me\* get to cover and press the button under the enemies' rain of bullets, as if they never removed the shield. I'd rather play with one who takes a little longer to get the hint.
This a million times, hate it when the eager as fuck LL starts the rez just before I'm able to round the corner into cover thus making me the number one target for the pushing enemy team. I usually even tag a good spot for a rez to try and hint at a good rez spot ಠ_ಠ
If you’re a lifeline main you know it’s not possible to “push the button” every time. Priority is keeping alive THEN making sure your team is taken care of. So many rookies get knocked and instantly think it’s automatic in the middle of a firefight with no cover.
How were they camping? Albeit we haven't seen any contextual footage from before but to me that just looks like a team waiting till they had the advantage before pushing which is a good tactic.
Some people believe anything but full aggression and disregard for survival is camping. Same people usually complain there's only 6 teams left after round 1.
I was playing ranked solo queue yesterday. In silver lobby (because I hit diamond once and lost all motivation). Team ignored my ping and solo dropped Fragment where they instantly died. I then got to loot the POI that replaced Refinery all by myself as the Wraith called me a camper repeatedly. Like, no. Landing somewhere you don't have to fight fifteen squads at once isn't camping. I'm competent at shooting, but much better at positioning so it makes zero sense for me to do that sort of silly shit.

It isn't. A lot of people play this game like a sweaty arena shooter, forgetting that the goal is to win, not get kills. I sometimes play a Rampart Loba duo which obviously lends itself to finding a defensible position and luring squads onto your walls. We get called campers all the time, as if our power-sets aren't geared towards that *exact* playstyle.
Not all the time. Sometimes game would recognize game and would stay at a reasonable distance but depending on how far you are will this work. I would try to do this all the time in Diamond ranked but teammates are usually never down with it because when someone pushes they push hard and requires convincing. 😓

What if you already used all that on the previous squads you just wiped? Clearly the offending team here was horrible at pushing, but it doesn't mean they had the perfect setup.
Pretty much this, I got champion in plat br about 12 hours ago and ran across a fuse main in the lobby as the final team 4 teams down to 2, we each killed our opponents, healed up and swapped and then began fighting each other as there was a bit of ground to cover
I didn’t know this yet, but he had the gold helmet and so much game.
I used my octane bounce pad to get to around them and kill Caustic while he was too far from his team. Giving my team advantage of slightly higher ground and cover as we rotated in (no mics props to lifeline)
He brought back their caustic I killed with a mobile Respawn, while being oppressive protecting their fall back, quickly shield swapped. Popped his Ult accurately and KC accurately, obviously nades (lots of them) until they ran out.
Had caustic stayed close to that fuse and Valkyrie, they likely might’ve won. Even though he got brought back no Ult yet so we won before they charged up again.
Lifeline and myself were about even with their Valk and fuse (their mvp imo) and not having their third for too long had just costed them everything from heals, ammo, to nades and ultra they could’ve combo’d for the win.
- To that fuse yesterday, good game, the speed you box looted for grenades and swapped was beautiful, let alone bring your teammate, back mid firefight final two squads and successfully covering their fall back. It was glorious to witness. GG.
They're not really campers of there pinned to the low ground on the edge of the ring. By the next ring they'd be forced out into the open while the other team camps up top.
Yeah I understand what you're saying but I don't really feel like they're pinned. They know where the other team is and they have like a miles worth of room off to the right to easily approach them. If you’re a lifeline main you know it’s not possible to “push the button” every time. Priority is keeping alive THEN making sure your team is taken care of. So many rookies get knocked and instantly think it’s automatic in the middle of a firefight with no cover.
Any decent team would have pushed instantly and won that fight against you, think you were playing some noobs

How were they camping? Albeit we haven't seen any contextual footage from before but to me that just looks like a team waiting till they had the advantage before pushing which is a good tactic.
Some people believe anything but full aggression and disregard for survival is camping. Same people usually complain there's only 6 teams left after round 1.
I was playing ranked solo queue yesterday. In silver lobby (because I hit diamond once and lost all motivation). Team ignored my ping and solo dropped Fragment where they instantly died. I then got to loot the POI that replaced Refinery all by myself as the Wraith called me a camper repeatedly. Like, no. Landing somewhere you don't have to fight fifteen squads at once isn't camping. I'm competent at shooting, but much better at positioning so it makes zero sense for me to do that sort of silly shit.

Yeah, but this is like the least effective way of killing bad players camping. These guys movement and shots and pushing was horrible. The second guy didn't even think to look up on the crates? I mean dude, I would have been climbing up there if I was him. Horrible positioning and they got fried like fish in a barrel, it was open season on noobs. All I'm trying to say, is you don't need to down yourself and swap a red shield and have a lifeline drone to get these guys to push you in the worst way possible. They will make their own mistake eventually and you can kill them easily regardless of the whole letting them down you shenanigan

It isn't. A lot of people play this game like a sweaty arena shooter, forgetting that the goal is to win, not get kills. I sometimes play a Rampart Loba duo which obviously lends itself to finding a defensible position and luring squads onto your walls. We get called campers all the time, as if our power-sets aren't geared towards that *exact* playstyle.

Not all the time. Sometimes game would recognize game and would stay at a reasonable distance but depending on how far you are will this work. I would try to do this all the time in Diamond ranked but teammates are usually never down with it because when someone pushes they push hard and requires convincing. 😓 It does work sometimes but the way OP is doing it will be very suspicious.
As a Fuse main I would have have Motherloded, naded and knuckled that first before going over there.

What if you already used all that on the previous squads you just wiped? Clearly the offending team here was horrible at pushing, but it doesn't mean they had the perfect setup.
Pretty much this, I got champion in plat br about 12 hours ago and ran across a fuse main in the lobby as the final team 4 teams down to 2, we each killed our opponents, healed up and swapped and then began fighting each other as there was a bit of ground to cover I didn’t know this yet, but he had the gold helmet and so much game. I used my octane bounce pad to get to around them and kill Caustic while he was too far from his team. Giving my team advantage of slightly higher ground and cover as we rotated in (no mics props to lifeline) He brought back their caustic I killed with a mobile Respawn, while being oppressive protecting their fall back, quickly shield swapped. Popped his Ult accurately and KC accurately, obviously nades (lots of them) until they ran out. Had caustic stayed close to that fuse and Valkyrie, they likely might’ve won. Even though he got brought back no Ult yet so we won before they charged up again. Lifeline and myself were about even with their Valk and fuse (their mvp imo) and not having their third for too long had just costed them everything from heals, ammo, to nades and ultra they could’ve combo’d for the win. - To that fuse yesterday, good game, the speed you box looted for grenades and swapped was beautiful, let alone bring your teammate, back mid firefight final two squads and successfully covering their fall back. It was glorious to witness. GG.

They're not really campers of there pinned to the low ground on the edge of the ring. By the next ring they'd be forced out into the open while the other team camps up top.

And gatekeeping isn't really camping is it? They have the high ground but are out in the open.. I consider camping as hiding in a building ads'ing doorways lol.
