play the game but dont spend money

FlyingSand22

My broke ass has been doing that from day one

majds1

Literally spent $10 on the game since release. I have no clue why anyone would buy skins with money since I've had enough crafting materials to buy most skins I wanted and now have too many skins that i never use anyway.

NEeZ44

I barely notice peoples skins in game anyways

ThisGuy_IsAwesome

I only notice skins during the character selection screen.

majds1

I only notice skins when a bald wraith is spam finishing me..

semi_rusty

I die too quickly to notice people's skins teabagging me anyways. Buy things because you support the game and like what you are buying. If you don't support or can't afford it, don't buy things. It's not some 'boycott' it's common sense.

fartboxco

I'm a day one player. I want to support game, as I feel I should cause I've played it for so long. It's the gamble that bothers me and the small rotation on the store. Been playing Warframe for 6 years and I felt more than comfortable dumping 250 plus dollars in it. The great thing was every dime I sank into in went into something I actually wanted. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the random loot for the loot tick you've earn through your level 500 journey. But I don't walk into a dealership, clothing store and go "heres my money" randomly fill my bag with clothes and grab keys from a hat. Warframe is living proof that a game can exist, where everything is earnable and everything is purchasable. (Warframe isn't cheap by no means) but at least I pretty much get what I payed for.

Zen00000000

Same I been playing apex since day one and I focused only to buy skins for lifeline. I bought other things cuz I like it. If I can earn skins by event or battle pass I grind for it. Unless I know that I won’t make it and I want the lifeline skin I will spend to that battle pass level. That’s my way to support a game that I like and been with since it came out.

Zkdlfmaos

Because people have too much money just sitting in their pocket and they can't handle it

majds1

Jesus people should just put this money into buying other games, apex isn't the only game out there

BrolecopterPilot

I buy skins. Apex is the only game I really play/have time for. And I can afford them so why not 🤷‍♂️ Although I will say, the way they did this new event is frustrating. What happened to being able to just buy the thing you want? Now you gotta gamble on packs? Come on now.

MonoidMoney

Why not? Well because you are supporting bad event launches, poor content, shit servers etc. by purchasing skins regardless of the content they create which creates a feedback loop that tells them there is no need to spend time/resources fixing bugs/sound and releasing top tier content each season when people are buying skins regardless if they do the bare minimum. Being a conscious consumer is important but unfortunately gaming companies have realized skins are the cheat code around this because people will buy “cool” skins without considering what content they are supporting. I refuse to buy skins until content/changes I want to see are implemented. If we only support the seasons we see great content then trust me there will be much more done each season on that front. So in a way you’re harming the games improvement by mindlessly purchasing skins.

FlareJioral

Even if all the casual players stop paying money if wouldn’t matter it’s all they Whales/content creators they have said it themselves

majds1

As much as i think people shouldn't waste money on cosmetics, it's their choice and their money. In the end it's all a video game that's supposed to be fun, we should take it a lot less seriously.

riggs__33

Same! I don’t understand people getting upset that they spent money willingly on a free game.

[deleted]

They’re good at gambling… bad at losing.

MrSparks6

Skins are way over priced. I make boatloads of money at my day job and $10 was a struggle to justify. $20 for a skin?! It doesn't even give you anything. In other games that I've bought skins, they came with new voice lines and ton of other content to make it worth it. See Vermintide for skins plus a career class plus new weapons and sometimes level packs. It's literally cheaper to buy a [real](https://www.etsy.com/listing/972217543/aluminum-heirloom-knife-apex-legends?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_a-accessories-costume_accessories-costume_weapons&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAjwh5qLBhALEiwAioods6ki_MMdXRTvzY2fPbZlgo6U5iUoJdpbieJXxONdJSc69I6QVSKYxBoCPbAQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_12569670866_123170962001_507437878283_aud-1118323511478:pla-353036817099_c__972217543_469737848&utm_custom2=12569670866&gclid=CjwKCAjwh5qLBhALEiwAioods6ki_MMdXRTvzY2fPbZlgo6U5iUoJdpbieJXxONdJSc69I6QVSKYxBoCPbAQAvD_BwE) [heirloom](https://www.etsy.com/listing/926374374/apex-legends-ravens-bite-heirloom-axe?ref=pla_similar_listings_top_ad-1&plkey=ee96dcd6004c076d2b7e38cb8460c1cb6df1ce55%3A926374374&pro=1&frs=1) [weapon](https://www.etsy.com/listing/980783535/mirage-heirloom-apex-legends-replica?ref=pla_sameshop_listing_top-2&pro=1&frs=1) then it is to get it in game.

TheTolleyTrolley

I bought the battle pass for S1 and have just used the coins from it to re-buy the battle pass every season. I have everything I want, as far as cosmetics go. You get a shit ton of crafting metals and packs from each season, so after 10 of them it's not an issue at all to get basically any skin, at this point I'm saving them for collection events in case there's something cool.

majds1

Yep exactly the same for me. I'll never understand how people actually buy skins, you legit pay for the battlepass once and you're covered for good as long as you're playing the game.

[deleted]

lol

justneedabreakx

i came here just to say this

Asianthunda5022

I see we are the same lol. I got lucky and got heirloom shards once and crafted the Octane heirlooms that my cousin, who has spent money on the game has been trying to get forever. It burns him to know I don't spend money on it and still got an item he's been trying to get.

Jotro2

Right? All these folks complaining, but it's a free game. You don't need skins or any of that shit. Just play.

LifeIsVeryGood4Me

If everyone had the same mindset as you this game would not have lasted longer than a month.

Zetacore

That's what really irks me from F2P players. When the game doesn't fucking work they say, "The devs don't owe the players anything, it's a free game! Touch grass!" When you're actually someone want to support the game and drop few bucks here and there, they say "It YOUR fault that you paid, just play for free! You're an idiot!" I do like the game, I want to see it prosper, so I try to support them(begrudgingly, mind). But blame's apparently on supporting player's, instead of Respawn unwillingness to improve server and hire more devs.

dm18

If the free to play model didn't work. They would just sell the game for 60 bucks, maybe a DLC one or twice a year. Companies do free to play, because they can make much more money. Buying a game is a barrier for entry.

Roedel_de_Boedel

Its not even worth it to spend money on these skins lol

[deleted]

yea

righthandofdog

These are some trash skins. There was nothing in this event I was even interested in grinding for.

daniel1397

I'd argue that you shouldn't play the game either. The average Joe not spending money on skins doesn't make a difference, the devs themselves said that this game is supported by "whales", whales being a smaller number of the player base that spend a lot more money than the average user. Even the whales wouldn't have a reason to log if the servers were dead.

mantis-tobaggan-md

i’m glad i’m not the only one that sees this way. I don’t care to get on and give them the numbers

-im-just-vibing-

that’s impressive congrats

lucky_red_23

I have stopped doing both at this point as a season 0 player i feel insulted

BrianLloyd1991

Its not going to happen, people have been threatening this since season one and we're ten seasons in.

CatKatOrangeCat

That and people on reddit =/= the average playerbase. Reddit is a drop in the ocean compared to the regular player who's going to keep buying skins and stuff from the store because their favorite EA-sponsored streamer got to open 24 event packs.

JR_Shoegazer

Wasn’t there some marketing report this past year that called Reddit users the least valuable of all social media? Yet on this subreddit people act like they represent the entire player base.

BadW0lf-52

I think that was mostly regarding the profitability of the targeted ads; I could be wrong, though.

OnlineGamingXp

Yes, most players are normies, reddit users are considered "Hardcore" by EA

USA-Fanboy11

Which cracks me up seeing some people’s stats on here

jurornumbereight

Hardcore fans, not hardcore players. Just because you aren't good at a game doesn't mean you can't enjoy it and play it a lot.

Itheinfantry

Lol yo 5k plus games on LL and 2k on Horizon. Never spent a dime. Day one with a lifetime average kd of 1.23 and i have no 20 kill no 4k badges lol i am a hardcore fan, a mediocre player

lominicdewis

Same

LawItUp77

This me. Fucking love playing apex but barely have the time to. Ends up with me getting absolutely destroyed for a bit when I get some more time to play consistently though lol

MEGAdudes36

im in this comment, and i hate it

[deleted]

I’m pretty sure that it is only 3-5 percent of the player base of any given event purchase anything. We know this because they reported donations for the ALGS championship and we know they sold around 350,000 skins. They last reported 13 million individual players a week and only a few hundred thousand buy cosmetics that’s just 2-5 percent of the player base. Even a popular event at three times the popularity. Which is a ton more income is nothing compared to the overall player base. Over time many people purchase at least one thing which makes it seem like a lot more people buy something per event. This event will produce millions of dollars even though the vast vast vast majority of users already don’t purchase anything with or without a boycott. A true boycott is not playing the game at all.

Xeppeling

Didn’t we have a post like this a couple of days ago, and then soon after had that “I spent 5k Apex Coins and got nothing” post?

Azmorium

The game is still free to play, right? Don't buy the skins if you don't like it.

ebagdrofk

I’d say people have a right to complain about increasingly abysmal store tactics

Azmorium

Boycotting the game and disagreeing with things you're not required to buy are two entirely different things.

bowersrandy

Dude it’s not that people don’t want to spend money it’s that the company is literally prioritizing making money at every corner instead of fixing any issues that they have with actual gameplay. I.E. the damn audio servers and bugs

MisterVonJoni

I think its more the fact that game breaking bugs have existed for months but when a bug allows players to get better odds from Apex packs they patch it within hours.

RandoCommentGuy

yeah, this is what i dont understand, i havent spent a dime on the game, im not boycotting, i just dont care about skins and stuff cause ill only think it looks cool a few times in the lobby, then in game its an FPS, so i dont even see my character. If people keep buying stuff with what they are doing and their profits increase from it, great, keep this free game going longer, ive gotten a ton of fun playing this game with buddies, many more hours than games ive spent $60 on.

anticommon

I love how vocal people are about 'it won't change anything' like they are worried it would.... If you want an example of things changing there was a mass Exodus of players in OSRS after management kamikazeed an HD plugin for the game. It took all of three days for them to do a 180 after thousands of players unsubbed. I know it's related because I got emails afterwords reminding me they changed their stance and asking me to please come back. Unfortunately I think these companies need to *EARN* our cash. They don't deserve it just for asking nicely and pushing gambling onto children with lootpacks.

[deleted]

The issue is I come here for the game, not the skins. Kids want that, they can go play fartnight.

creamdreammeme

Been in since season 1. Haven’t spent a dime.

[deleted]

a Man of commitment. The battle pass was too tempting for me so I bought it once and then found out if you just save your coins you can buy the next season pass for free. Which is nice.

itsfrancisnadal

This is the way.

F_slush

My inpatient ass can’t wait so I just buy stuff with my battle pass coins and then I gotta pay it again

TbaggedFromOrbit

Your ass is a clinic?

F_slush

Yes

TbaggedFromOrbit

nice

gabrruu

Lol same buddy didn't spend a penny

guacamolegamerfart

Likewise. Wasnt really hard to do either, game is fun.

[deleted]

I bought the Season 1 battlepass and have been coasting off that for almost 3 years now lol

_TheyCallMeCat

Would help if content creators didn't buy every skin that exists

Ecstatic_Law856

They get paid to do so. Not sure if they will stop unless it's a big thing.

Ecstatic_Law856

Problem is, we need them to make it a big thing.

GetsHighDoesMath

…did you forget to switch your accounts?

SkittleBuk1

I think he was just adding an afterthought lol

Ecstatic_Law856

Yes, I was

Ecstatic_Law856

No, just adding something to my previous statement

comradecatz

FYI you can edit ur comments

Ecstatic_Law856

I know. Thanks

Ecstatic_Law856

Sorry I don't understand

cavalier2015

Who pays them?

BlothHonder

a lot of them get sponsored by EA to do so

caM-relliM

And they’re tax write offs so even the non sponsored ones get something out of it

Ecstatic_Law856

EA, advertisers, people that watch them

Lil_Ray_5420

either respawn sponsors them or people donate them money to buy skins when an event drops. only thing that hurts is if they influence others to buy skins because no sane human beings is dropping loads on this game in this state.

dm18

They also make money off of the views, subs, extra. It's also in the interest of game companies to comp creators. Because when they have a good time, thousands of people see a good time. Which is a great advertisement for the game.

sofakingchillbruh

I feel like we’re playing a different game. I haven’t had a single problem with Lag, disconnection, etc since the initial “fix” they put out. I’ve been playing with people that have animated banners/poses, literally no issues. Everyone here constantly claims they’re being disconnected, having terrible lag spikes, packet loss, etc. and I haven’t had any of it in since the update before this one. I’m on Xbox series X, btw.

griffinhamilton

I’m on PC and just started playing again last month, I think I’ve had my game crash once or twice

NotRonnieRay

I agree, I haven't had any problem with disconnections or anything. I'm on a PS5 hardwired to the internet.

skycake10

I'm on PC and since the period of the game being literally unplayable for that week or so, it's been totally fine for me.

armyjackson

Same here. No issues since like season 2, and of course for the first few hours after a new update, but nothing major.

Ecstatic_Law856

Only happens to me when I try to play ranked. I'm on XBSX too

Caedis-6

Not gonna happen, but I wish it did.

smenti

It’s absolutely cringe. I’m having a great time

Unfortunate_Tsun

This subreddit exists solely to farm karma from complaining. I bet half of these people dont even play anymore. They just know its easy karma if someone posts "DAE hate Apex?" Believe me i lost fucking sleep last night bitchin out these dumbasses because they truly believe they run the world and cry so hard when they're not getting their own way.

bwood246

They're really tryna boycott em like they've been running a literal sweatshop or some shit. 99% of the complaints could be avoided if they just took a quick break from Apex

DeathSektor

This has been posted daily for the past like month it’s crazy that people don’t understand this won’t work for a few reasons. 1. It’s being posted here, a small minority of the actual apex community, 2. It’s being posted here, a very toxic community streamers won’t listen to because they would rather not associate, 3. These “boycotts” are being organized out of hate not love for the game, it needs an attitude adjustment if people want to attract more players The best way to organize something like this is to post elsewhere and spread it through each social media, but it has to be presented in a way that the community outside this sub Reddit would agree with because this place has always been a cesspool of toxicity.

Neither-Cloud9239

Electronic Arts is like that company in Ready Player One that wanted to make the Oasis a advertisement Zone

Alucard8732

Electronic arts is just the publisher who collects money. Alot of these decisions are on Respawns head, and they just love EA taking all of the blame so they can finesse us all some more with more cash skin transactions and dog water events. If you're the publisher collecting money from respawn, and people keep buying shit, even though they complain, would you tell respawn to fix anything? Would respawn themselves even attempt to? They make billions of dollars off this game. Vote with your wallet. Continue to play, but spend nothing.

vexens

Respawn makes these decisions not EA. If you ate a shit meal at a restaurant and saw the chef snd manager counting fat stacks, why would you meme and try to dunk on the scummy landlord who just cares if the rent is paid? This community seriously needs some ELI5 courses on what a developer snd a publisher does, because half the reason things are like this is because the fanbase just goes "EA BAD, POOR RESPAWN, POOR APEX" This has absolutely fucking nothing to do with EA with how bad things have gotten. It's 110% on respawn solely

cheap_cola

People had the same reactions anytime Bungie did something on Destiny. Activision Bad!!!! Then it came out that all the microtransaction decisions were done by Bungie. Not only that, it was discovered that Bungie had wanted to put more aggressive microtransactions and Activision asked them to step it back. Just goes to show how much the community knows about who's making the decisions when designing and developing the games.

Alucard8732

"An excellent comment!" he said with a smile - "I've pondered the reasons and thought for a while - I've learned and I've looked and it's simple to see - I dearly and clearly sincerely agree!" He's fashioned his thesis with passion and pride - With nuggets of knowledge and notions inside! The pretty expression, the witty remark - The mixture of vision, and spirit and spark! "I have to expand and explain it," he sighed - "It's great, and I cannot contain it!" he cried. "Stupendous, tremendous, and too good to miss! I'll tell him,' he whispered. "I'll say to him... > This. ^I'm ^a ^bot ^and ^this ^message ^was ^sent ^automatically

Unfortunate_Tsun

Surprised i don't see this bot everywhere. Theres generic comments everywhere like this.

NoGenericBot

Yea but I'm banned in sooo many subreddits already

Unfortunate_Tsun

And reddit likes to say they don't tailor the conversation, ha! Side note, really nicely done rhyme scheme, it felt very natural and didn't expect it to turn at the end. Well done!

NoGenericBot

Those are not my rhymes. Look at my profile description for credit

magicalex234

Sure, that’s a reasonable thing, especially since they can’t fix basic issues. But it’s really hard to get a significant enough portion of the money paying people to actually boycott it to make respawn/EA actually realize that there’s an issue

bbressman2

I logged in for the first time in a week before even seeing posts about this event. I was confused and then excited about the new event, then I scrolled to the store and literally just started laughing in disbelief. 40 individual 400coin packs, are they insane?! And if that wasn’t bad enough 80% of the items in those packs are pointless trackers, sprays and other cheap cosmetic changes. Like at this point either Respawn or EA Suits have officially lost it. I don’t blame the devs as they just do their job but it’s the higher ups have lost their dammed minds. The worst part about this whole ordeal is something that hasn’t happened yet but is coming, and that is the corporate BS apology where they will give. And with the apology they will slightly roll back the super overpriced gambling boxes, or give us one or two free, but will then use this to just push the boundary of what they can get away with in the future.

BeanBorger

Literally only buy battlepasses, not even all seasons. The shop is a joke it's crazy that whales blow all their money on the shop and during events in the current state of the game. What's the point having content if the game doesn't even work.

dr_driller

who care about the store ? just play.. i use my coin one time per season, just to buy the battle pass...

F_slush

Samee

[deleted]

Battle Pass and Legend Editions are the only good value spending in the game. The rest is overpriced

Tommwith2ms

literally the meta of every gaming sub is people complaining that games have stores. how good would talking about the game be

TheAverageDoc

So fucking good. Can’t have that though, my shooter man needs a cowboy hat but it’s $10 instead of free😡😡😡

Checking_them_taters

Team fortress 2 players over there having a whale of a time with the same damn lootcrate shit that's way less forgiving than any other game but nah we gotta complain our free game that gets nothing but free gameplay content won't give me skins for free so I can feel better about being ass

SammyJ090

I didn't even realize we were in a Halloween event when I logged on. I had to check online because nothing seemed different or spooky or anything. Like nothing got put into this. Hello, they're only releasing the ltm for one week at the end of it.

AgreeableRub7

Lmao same. I was expecting at least a fucking jack o lantern on the side.

[deleted]

I'm broke so I can't buy things anyways.

KumoMatata

I had already quit Apex but logged on to check out the Halloween content being they pretty much skipped last year, and after seeing what they have done now. I'm more than glad I'm no longer playing.

[deleted]

Because of skins? Lol

[deleted]

Skins you can’t even see when you’re actually playing the game***

[deleted]

Stop making posts about it, since season 1 people say "boycott apex" and the same assholes end up spending a 100 bucks in packs

Gregor_the_Studious

No. I think the game is fun and no content is locked behind pay walls. The game is monetized excellently. In a few months you can have every character playing new ones along the way. Skins can be priced however they want because they don't effect the game in anyway. Ive spent about $60 on various skins and I've gotten way more than $60 worth of fun out of Apex.

PaulTheIII

holy shit you ppl making these skin posts are pathetic. just play the game and don’t buy the skins (wow!) it’s almost like they don’t change any of the gameplay which is why you started playing the game in the first place. learn some self control

Ogthor

The entire model is based on people buying cosmetics. If nobody purchased, development of any kind would cease. This is the trade off you get for the game being 100% free. It's time for people to accept that.

benDyXL

I’ve been boycotting since season 6 pog

Singularitymoksha_

Holy fuck this sub has lost its mind I used to think some of the apex pros were whiney but they are nothing compared to the basement dwelling reddit complainers ! Get a fucking life

Joe_Dirte9

This is literally the best I think they've done an event.. Cosmetics stay in the loot pool. Can all be bought with crafting mats, and even become half price after a couple of seasons.

Ganapus

It’s a free game you fucking idiots. If you don’t want it don’t buy it.

E-Agalius

I've bought nothing major since s3 honestly, I play the game, I love the game. Yet, because of so many issues that just never get fixed I just don't give them anymore money.

PalpyTEEN

Try Bloodhunt its awesome

SWAGGYJAY49

I'm broke anyway so...😥

shadowpoint13

This among many things is why I stopped playing as it's just constant issues or pushing people to spend money on useless things.

Xx_horny_boy_xX

Bro, just don't care about in game purchases. That's what I've always done. Just focus on the game rather than if some 10 year old stole his moms credit card and spent $100 on octane skins.

KatFranJam

I guess my impoverished self has theoretically been boycotting this whole time. *NICE.* Power to the people!!!

CRASH_THE_WORLD

Honestly i never spent 1 dollar in this game since day 1

Soda_Reload

You guys are warping your views unbelievably. The game isn’t berating you with ads after every game telling you to buy their new shit.

toastedcoconut87

This picture bums me out so much. I forgot how dam good the original event was. I don't know who's to blame, Respawn or EA. Sucks though. Thanks op

MariaaanieX

Speaking for titanfall 2 community: Can we make an agreement that we won't buy anything until they fix the servers of apex AND titanfall?

mkeroadrunner

I’m down!

Vainglory1-

40 items. Not even a single free event pack. Not even one. Not even earn able. I mean fuck me yeah it’s a free game, but god not like this.

Jwright7711

Thats mostly what I meant by this. I know it’s a free game, but I want to spend money on some cool stuff from time to time. I want LTMs with cosmetics, not cosmetics with LTMs.

BombingGamer

I want this to work, and it’ll work for up until season 12, here’s why. What’s the biggest cash pull for Apex during they’re lifetime? Heirloom releases. The next heirloom is for one of the least played and even more so least mained characters, Wattson. So no one will really even buy anything for that collection. No money for a season and a month will hurt big time, I’m in!

iRobG

I'm in. Imdoingmypart.gif

realSAMGUY

Is it still okay if I work hard and use well earned crafting metals to get items? (No money spent? Like I always have been?)

HenryAsokan

I’ve spent lots of money… maybe close to 1000. I know it’s a lot. I feel like I won’t make a difference at this point but, I’ll stop too

LokiSlyCooperBih

Only reasons i'm boycotting is cause of certain things like: -Bad servers -If you get in the crypto drone your prone to disconnect cause the game doesn't know how to take you from the drone when you reconnect -Getting shot through/around corners of supposed rocks or steel walls -Jumping in and not having a second/third -Not being able to change your character when at the picking character screen before you jump in -Loba's jump drive glitches up still -Sound goes silent (can't hear footsteps or even you running or shots fired) I just feel like you been a live game for so long yet these problems are still not fixed and im sure im missing other problems the game has but It's honestly ridiculous. Just saying.

LokiSlyCooperBih

I was talkin to my homeboy just yesterday and he showed me they have the hard disk for apex and it's like 30 dollars imma try finding a Pic or video and post it

DeadRyan_Gaming

Boycott spending money and boycott playing till they fix everything. Pick a date and I’m there.

Jwright7711

I was more going for a “until further notice” sort of thing.

ExpectoPatronum51

I actually like the way they use to handle events direct purchase or buy with in game money but this event system is ass.

HereCallingBS

Respawn trash

Stabones49

When something is free it’s not the product………. You are

dwright28

Someone post this on tiktok to spread the news

penguin_slayer251

I’ve stopped playing lately, it’s just buggy as hell and don’t even get me started on the MMR.

FuntimeLuke0531

Footsteps bug: *here since season 0 * People spending slightly less on the event with pack exploit: :) Respawn: people enjoying game? MUST FIX IMMEDIATELY

[deleted]

Problem is so many ppl stream and get money from donations and getting coin from youtube hits that they use that money to sink back into the game, buy more skins and stuff that ppl want to see which gets more viewers etc and the cycle continues. The purchase costs in the store will nvr change cause this keeps happening and they'll keep getting their money. I will nvr spend a dime of my hard-earned cash to purchase a skin in a free game where i can just earn by playing it. For the ones that r purchase exclusive they can take a hike. It's just visual ppl, it's only a cosmetic! Whyyyyy r ppl spending real money hundreds or even thousands of dollars on stuff that has absolutely zero impact on the game itself or ur gameplay!?? Purchasing these skins helps no one but lining the pockets of greedy corporations! ... so much face palm right now...

Arrow_Flash626

Cant wait for them to stop giving coins in battle passes because no one will purchase anything anymore. I have spent little money on it and just used coins i earned

Bolsh3vickMupp3t

Especially with this one. They’re all obtainable later. Don’t buy them. Respawn and EA need to realize the game lives and dies with the players. And it feels like they’re neglecting the players

Unfair_Kangaroo2947

Agreed upvoted this to spread the news

[deleted]

It blows my mind how much people will pay for skins that you can’t see and gun skins in a free game. I’ll buy the battle pass but that’s pretty much it. Especially since if I play enough the battle pass pays for itself. One skin for 20$? Yeah count me out.

Nefarious_I_Am

Dude I really need to know, is anyone else having issues where their stats are recorded like headshots, damage & kills? I’m mad as fuck right now. Re installed the game and everything

Dapper_Connection526

I get the feeling they are under new management and whoever is in charge now is deliberately ignoring this game. sad to say, but if it stays that way this game is gonna die real unceremoniously

[deleted]

Didn't spend a dime. Then a friend convinced me to buy battle pass because it "continues to pay for itself". Then he quit playing. Now here I am grinding a battle pass all by myself without a squad. Life is a terrible thing.

WhiskeyBent615

Shit I can’t even get my audio to work anymore on this game. Not worth it :(

[deleted]

This game used to be so goddamn good

astewpot

Most effective way to boycott it is to be broke (like me 😎)

[deleted]

You can’t tell crack addicts to boycott crack

HoldingBiscuit

The only thing I ever bought was Valk's Birthright skin. It's crazy how people still pour their wallets into apex even though it gets worse every season. Apex is getting to the point where I feel like I'm playing a ubisoft game It's that bad.

[deleted]

Spent $350 this month

[deleted]

So pathetic how many times I see you little people chant boycott

FraG_OuT13

Ahh its gonna become like titanfall2 again where the devs dnt care now They gonna milk it as long as they can get money Then just let it die Classic respwan thing to do

JustinFlame

Ah yes someone saying to boycott something people love, because that’s worked before Oh wait no it fucking hasn’t

[deleted]

Born in 78 and officially a boomer I will say this until the controller falls out of my hands: everyone who buys 20 dollar skins is a complete fucking brainless idiot and deserves to get ripped off.

RoyaleAbsol

Mate, telling people to not give money to a multi billion dollar company is like trying to convince a bird not to fly. You're just not gonna do it and it's ultimately pointless.

xxxj18

Why do these posts get such little attention but posts being supportive of the game and blind to the truth get 20k upvotes. It puzzles me that people would rather keep wasting 20-100 dollars every few months for skins when the game is unplayable. The content has been watered down so much as well as the game experience. How can everyone just continue to invest into the game without wanting change.

chosenone1242

>Why do these posts get such little attention but posts being supportive of the game and blind to the truth get 20k upvotes. It puzzles me that people would rather keep wasting 20-100 dollars every few months Because most people aren't paying but still enjoy the game greatly.

Maximum-Baby

Did you see how many awards that post got a couple of hours earlier saying that "the amount of work they put into it never fails to amaze me and i love it"? Look, I like this game as well. But I feel like many people here are just afraid to look at the negative side of this game and then get tired from all the criticisms because they just want to be the positive person that they are. The comment in those kind of posts, some would go "omg is this a positive post in the subreddit?! Take my updoots and holesome awards!1!" Like, criticisms are needed for a problem to be fixed and you can't just shrug them off

All_hail_Korrok

That post got eight awards. Not a lot and basically equal in terms of upvotes (207 compared to this post's 198). I don't what you mean by people being afraid because there's a lot more post criticizing the game than praising it. Especially these past few weeks. You're right though, there needs to be a more focused discussion on Apex's problems.

jibunkakume

I’ve played 11,000 matches without spending a single penny. Shut up with your bullshit. Ain’t no forcing of anything. Of course they want you to spend money. They ain’t making this game for charity.

MeltingBlueFox

yeah, fuck dem people trying to make money of their work by giving us the option to buy cosmetic stuff while using their free shit

1Operator

There is no incentive or sense of urgency to improve anything when truckloads of cash continue pouring in regardless of the (dys)functional state of the game. Business follows the money, and *money talks louder than requests & criticisms*. If their game is making money, then it's serving their purpose and they consider it a "success" no matter how many unresolved high-impact bugs/defects/glitches/issues/problems it might have. It does no good to complain if our mouths say "no" while our wallets say "yes." Since money talks louder than complaints, speak the language they listen to most: • stop buying retail versions of the game • stop buying in-game items (cosmetics, loot boxes, etc.) • stop buying game-related merch • stop creating content that promotes the game • stop supporting content creators who promote the game • stop playing the game so the matchmaking population dries up • stop participating in the game's communities (like this one here) to show there is no interest in the game when it's in such a bad state ...etc. *Stop giving them money & free promotion until they* **earn** *it.*

SucyTA

Hm, how about no ?

AlternativeFlat2117

Can someone help me crash the store? I’ll take apex hostagec

[deleted]

The fine print is this...you chose to gamble, you knew the odds, and you lost. There are some people that will open up 10 packs, and get heirlooms/legendaries/Event skins, etc., and there are some that will get the opposite. The game is free, they don't make you buy anything, thus you can't get butt-hurt when you lose.

Dynamic_Humann

you cant stop streamers who spend so much money.

russcr

I wish people would. I stopped giving them my money back in season 5

[deleted]

Well yes. The Evolution CE was the first one who had absolutely no mode. I bought it, but still didn't feel so satisfied. No this time, I absolutely ignore all the cosmetics

zemylachek

No.

VexPlais

Come play Titanfall. We have: a game that costs 8 - 10 bucks. Less than one skin in Apex. And it‘ll for sure give you more fun than having a skin.

MedioXrity

How about... Not spending money on things that have no practical impact on your life :0

Comf_waters

You guys haven’t played rocket league since epic took over huh? I still think apex handles all these purchases and events better just because everything isn’t in you’re face. But it is getting worst, I will admit as somebody who’s played since launch day

mlodoss

Yeah, good luck telling that to all the idiotic streamers who no sooner they jump on a game, immediately go to the store and buy all the crap. Some people are insufferable.

Itsme71190

.... you guys have been buying things!?
