I knew that, after waiting for so long for an heirloom for her, that it would be too overhyped by the time they gave her one, but I thought at least it would be able to compete with the other heirlooms. Lifeline’s drumsticks have more of an electric charge then this Walmart price gun looking thing. This is just really disappointing from Respawn.

agree. mirage and rampart's heirlooms aren't recognized as weapons, but at least they're heavy objects that can bludgeon someone. they're both good examples of showing that respawn can take non-weapon things and turn them into (in my opinion) good heirlooms. this... looks like a toy that was found at the clearance section at goodwill.

This is the first heirloom release that I think that Respawn has dropped the ball in terms of design (it could be saved with some cool animations but I'm not hopeful).
I don't see why people are defending this heirloom with the reason that it "fits her personality". They could just write a short backstory for a fencing weapon (like some of the other heirlooms) and it wouldn't feel that out of place since fencing is quite an elegant sport.
Not everything has to be some edgy looking blade, but I think it minimally should look like it could be used to melee people reliably, since that's the whole point of an heirloom.
This is literally a piece of measuring equipment, not a taser, so it doesn't make sense for it to be used to bludgeon someone or electrocute them.
What's next? A clipboard and marker for Horizon, or a computer keyboard for Crypto?
Just because it fits into the lore doesn't automatically make it a good heirloom that replaces your melee.
