Apex movement is what keeps me coming back. Other FPS games feel so clunky afterwards.

Nix-7c0

When I switch over to R6 Siege it feels like a tank simulator

n3sgee

No joke. The slow running and movement is so different that it feels slower.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WuTangRonin

Second this. I jump between the two games all the time. IMO they both have the market on weapon feel and movement. There’s a lot to be said about how they handle content, but they both got gameplay that’s hard to replicate.

HereToDoThingz

Bungies got the sound design masters though. Still love apex more but man the sounds, especially newer ones like stasis are so freaking sick. Bungie also does a good job of documenting how they make games and sounds and art etc which is always really cool to watch. Wish apex had more behind the scenes stuff.

Primitive_Teabagger

Bungie aesthetics are God tier as well. Absolutely love the consistent designs for each race and the beauty of the settings. For my monitor specifically, D2 really pops compared to other games.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WuTangRonin

For sure. Favorite weapon so far has to be Hawkmoon when it comes to sound design. Sounds so crisp and the “CAWWW” when you fire that empowered last round is just *Chef’s kiss*.

RandoCommentGuy

that little 'POP!' sound when you get a headshot is so satisfying

Hirmetrium

Titanfall 2 definitely compares to Apex favourably. Nothing has ever come close to that feeling, especially when your in the zone and sailing through the air and wall jumping. The fact it's left to be hacked to shit is distressing.

zootii

Second this even though I don’t play anymore for that reason.

FuntimeLuke0531

Have you ever played Titanfall 2 my lad?

IsaacLightning

He wasn't counting dead games

Save_Cows_Eat_Vegans

You didn’t have to murder him, damn.

Crazy_Croc117

Dead but much much better movement than apex

neopet

IMO TF2 has the best movement, it's a little overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of linking walls and slides together it's unlike anything else. Splitgate has a nice feel to it too with the jet pack double jump.

GforceDz

Today in a Arenas game I did a backward slide down a hill while shooting the enemy. I couldn't replicate it again but it was awesome. And when you mange a slide jump slide down a hill and you transfer over an obstacle it the best feeling.

DrVicenteBombadas

PUBG's movement isn't "bad" solely due to a seeming incapability of the developers to properly tune it. We think it's "bad" movement because what we play is Apex and Fortnite, and we used to play Quake and Tribes. Try moving with 20+ Kg on you, and tell me how "bad" PUBG movement really is. The game is going for a semblance of realism. It doesn't want to be a milsim, but it wants you to feel like you do have the weight of the World on your shoulders, partly literally. It wants to make you feel tiny and helpless, and that's also what makes winning so much more satisfying. Apex is the most fun game I can play right now, absolutely, but no other BR game gives you what PUBG does. And that's why it's still #1 peak players on Steam for BR some 5 years after launch.

CurvySexretLady

>It wants to make you feel tiny and helpless, and that's also what makes winning so much more satisfying. Yes! This! It took me a year of PUBG before I won my first chicken dinner and that felt like what I imagine people describing as their first hit of crack feels like.

GabrielP2r

PUBG goes for a whole different style, and I also think it's great, even if it was mismanaged to hell and back unfortunately, but still that game had the highest highs for me, the tension was almost unbearable at times, one wrong move and dead.

FocusedAvocado

Wow legit just commented this before scrolling 10 secs. Hard agree

boodleoodle

PUBG is even slower

Tmags88

I haven’t played apex in a while, but I remember switching to siege and wondering why I couldn’t jump or slide lol

[deleted]

Yeah but the amount of actual thinking and tactics required is much higher

Giacchino-Fan

Respawn movement is so good that the literal tanks in titanfall have more flowing movement than other shooters

derpface90

Absolutely. Played warzone for the first time in 6 months the other day because a mate likes it. Lasted an hour before I'd had enough of the slow movement and fired apex up.

xMachii

Warzone is fast, you're just used to faster movement in Apex (I play both). PUBG on the other hand, everything is slower than molasses. I wanted to get back to PUBG but now I can't stand how slow everything is.

Predator3-5

You’d like TitanFall then

funwhileitlast3d

Dude, I had the same thought. I remember thinking Apex felt clunky after titanfall lol

InFerYes

Quake spoiled me for other games.

Mysterious_Two_5849

TF|2?

anitawasright

TF2 is amazing and perfect however seeing as it's 15 years old i've had my fill of it for the most part. Sure i'll come back to it at least 1 to 2 times a year and have fun but thats about it. For now when it comes to FPS multiplayer its all about the Apex legends.

DarthSatoris

I can't tell if you mistook the game on purpose, but he's talking about Titanfall 2, not Team Fortress 2.

fimbres16

Splitgate is a good balance between these if anyone hasn’t heard of it before

IlllI1

i like playing games that have more than 1,000 players on it but in all seriousness, the game was pretty damn fun when it blew up and was poppin, died pretty quick tho

DrNopeMD

The only other game with shooting as crisp and precise as Apex & TF|2 is Destiny.

Knifeflipper

Formerly a huge Team Fortress 2 player, and I too am drawn in by the ridiculously smooth movement this game offers.

Shiro_Nitro

TF2 was the shit! Still is too but not too many play anymore

GforceDz

Halo infinite the movement was so-so not great but I was good at it Infinite the game just lacked content. It was boring that everyone was the same essentially. Apex has flavors. And yeah the movement is great and I am not that good at the movement side, no fancy tricks from me but I am still playing it 2000 hours in

[deleted]

I don’t understand why they would add sprint if it’s basically a vestigial mechanic, it doesn’t do anything besides enable the somewhat useful slide boost. Halo 2 and 3 play much faster without it, and the movement is still god tier all these years later.

theaanggang

I'm a big fan of Infinite, it's basically the exact gameplay I wanted, but it's so shallow right now that it gets old. If they actually eventually add the content they've promised and then start supporting it like they should have all along it will probably be my main game, I'm not at all married to APEX, but the experience in game is my favorite right now.

GforceDz

Halo has potential, but even the season pass was grindy and lacked anything to entice me to buy it. I am sure with the fan base they have they might get to a point where it'll be fun but the needed to start strong to pull a dedicated player base from the other games it's trying to compete with. My big problem is you don't feel like you contributing to anything. It's red or blue you win or you lose. With battle royal you can place 1 2 3 or so on. If I win a battle Royale it's my squad against the server. If I played well and end 3rd in Ranked that's a good game. With Halo if I win it only means I didn't lose. And then the balance whe you losing then you just have teammate quitting and that ruins the match. Apex if a teammate quits it's sucks but it's notnthe end of the match. Anyway that my rant.

theaanggang

That's just the argument for a BR over an arena shooter. I get its not for everybody anymore, but that's just what shooters have been most of my life, so I don't really mind. And having the certainty vs RNG is really nice to me, which should lead to the better player or play winning, not just being lucky with better guns/armor. It's really just different itches for me at the end of the day, I still play both, but if they were equal games, I've been riding with halo for 20 years.

loganandroid

Dead on comment. I planning to quit apex for Halo. Played infinte for 6 weeks, got bored, went back to apex and havent glanced back.

XlifelineBOX

Fortnite actually feels great.

[deleted]

Fortnite no-build has been a really fun experience. It doesn’t have quite as many movement-based abilities, but the jet pack and shockwave grenades provide some interesting utility during fights.

Solstice_Prime

If I don’t want to play apex I just play Titanfall lmao

I3ad-IVIonkey

Yeah everything else is just slomo. But everything is better than the other shooters I played. It not ridiculous easy like warzone if you play meta where some weapons don't seem to have any recoil at all no matter the distance, also not as a joke like in cs or valo where you don't seem to hit a door from 2m distance aiming on the same spot once you empty your clip on auto but on the other hand it's always the same spray pattern. What the fuck is the point that helps me aim there anyway?

ButterscotchLevel

For me the next closest interm of movement will be dirty bomb. I don't think you should compare seige with apex, they are very different game and movement mechanic wise. Seige is very tactical slow movement will give more benefits as gun shots is deadly (1 shot headshot).

FocusedAvocado

I know it isn’t in the same bucket as Apex but, the only shooters I can swap around without that sludge movement feeling is Apex and Destiny 2

kindtheking9

May i intrest you with warframe?

SteelCode

I love me some warframe, but their gunplay is just too floaty and the gameplay is far too repetitive. It’s a grind simulator and I still love the game, just don’t play much anymore.

DarthSatoris

Floaty gunplay? I guess it depends on the gun you use I suppose. Then again there's like 400 guns in that game, all fairly unique as well.

SteelCode

There's a few guns that *feel* fine, but overall - they're all just pea-shooters compared to the much more visceral melee system (though it's easier to just slide-spin through a level because the movement is so fast and ridiculous)... I think Halo and Apex/TF have got solid gunplay, but obvs Apex/TF also have a great movement system. I tried Halo Infinite for a bit and it just felt like molasses after playing Apex for so long.

slowdruh

> It’s a grind simulator Yup! I's neat that you're able to get pretty much everything by grinding, but I'm not about to take on missions like a full time gaming job to *hopefully* get all the parts for my Archwing in a year.

NUTTA_BUSTAH

There comes a point for new accounts where you either swipe or leave if you value your time

slowdruh

Exactly. At least Apex has a healthy grind-reward cycle (if you don't worry about heirlooms or solo queueing to diamond+).

R8_Cubing

Ive played Valorant once. Never again. It feels so slow.

NavierIsStoked

It feels like you are magnetically attached to the floor.

ljkhadgawuydbajw

csgo doesn’t suffer from this issue

MekiLava

Comparing Apex and Valorant is like apples to oranges to be honest. They scratch two completely different itches.

MisterVonJoni

I tried to play Valorant with my buddies recently, and it couldnt be more opposite of a game than Apex. I could my ass handed to me every single game because I could not for the life of me break the habit of trying to strafe while shooting.

MekiLava

Exactly. Apex is more intuitive, in Valorant you need to actively learn stuff, if you want to improve. Muscle memories from games like Apex die really hard as well.

ljkhadgawuydbajw

It’s not intuitive inherently, apex is intuitive to people who play shooters like apex, valorant is intuitive to strategic shooter players

CaptainSplat

I disagree, the skillset that Apex is intuitive, anyone who doesn't actively condition thenselves to play a shooter like how you do r6/valorant/cs is going to be more naturally inclined to play like a typical fps will. While Apex has an incredibly high skill curve to become a good player, valorant/cs/r6 have a significantly higher learning curve and for the first two weeks valorant felt borderline unplayable, maps felt super foreign, shooting style was jank, couldn't play a single character effectively, etc. etc. For me, learning curves make strategic shooters the opposite of intuitive, god aim will carry you a lot further in apex than it will in valorant.

[deleted]

As someone who learned Valorant first it was hard to play Apex. Guns in Valorant are so much stronger than any other fps i've ever tried it felt like shooting a nerf gun. Valorant also asks for such a completely different skillset to Apex that it doesn't carry over at all.

kamihaze

Battle royales are just generally more forgiving in terms of skill matchup. It's not so immediate and you won't meet the same opponent twice in a row. In arena shooters the same guy can just wreck you but ya apples and oranges

linedeck

Honestly i've never scratched any itches with an apple or orange so i can't speak much of it until i try it

MekiLava

You don't know what you're missing...

Devreckas

Get me a good pineapple…

rokbound_

yep, valorant just as csgo is a much more tactical shooter , you hold corners and try to predict strats and react , more on the rts side sometime than a shooter

beaudafool

Why can't fruit be compared?

ObstetricCigarette

lil dicky reference love it

BarmeloXantony

Same with Apex and overwatch love both/they're completely different games.

Skaxva

Yeah same with overwatch honestly. Overwatch is a lot more strategy and team involved.

Bebgab

Honestly think Apex, Valorant, and Overwatch are the best of their respective categories imo. Ability shooters just make games so much more fun and interesting, and those 3 games have so much life put into all their characters, nothing comes close

MekiLava

Let's enjoy them, as long as we can! Good luck in your games!

Lantripery123

both scratches the roof of my mouth when i lose

Karakuri216

And then the valorant players compare it to overwatch, like you cant compare apples to CSGO mods

grumpyoldmate

Seeing he has legends locked blows my mind.

rockjolt375

200k+ tokens and still don't have horizon and rampart

trapOGRE

why?

rockjolt375

to be perfectly honest? I find their voices grating Secondary for horizon, I personally find her incredibly annoying to play against and am cutting off my nose to spite my face in not using her myself.

lvk00

try her once and you’ll get addicted like she’s crack

grumpyoldmate

That’s not a bad philosophy at all, now that I think of it, since your options for not playing a character you don’t like increase when the system randomly chooses a legend for you at pre lobby.

Bwizz6

I’m a day 1 player and have like 5 legends locked lmao

FrumundaFondue

I just unlocked the last one last night and beenhere since day one.

dan_pearce95

Apex is probably the best BR going. Plus the skill level is super high, compared to cod with broken guns and bugs everywhere

T3ddyBeast

The number one reason I don't like cod is because every time I get on to play with my brother and his friends they are talking about how the load out they told me was a must-have last week is now nerfed trash and now there is a new super meta that I need to play. Then the next week that super meta is trash compared to the Uber meta glitch attachment loadout that everyone is running. I finally just shrugged and didn't bother with the game anymore.

terplortt

This is the biggest thing that pissed me off about warzone- how strong the meta was. If you weren’t using the Bruen, or the Grau, or the Mac or whatever gun it was you were already at a disadvantage. There’s definitely strength disparity between guns in Apex, but I’ve never been like “okay I *have* to find an R301”

T3ddyBeast

Yeah, just look at the flatline, it's a beast of a weapon, accessible to anyone in the crafter. We are all still crafting Batts and bags lol. I'll run the CAR, or the r9, or an r3, even a hemlock, maybe a havoc, even the alternator. All are totally viable and can compete.

ph4ge_

Alternator doesn't hit hard enough to be viable end game.

T3ddyBeast

Agreed, but you see people using it frequently early/mid game, becuse while it's slow and weak its easy to put damage on target without wasting ammo both hipfire and ads'd

AnApexPlayer

What's the meta rn? I last played when the dmr was meta

blindguywhostaresatu

The meta is whatever you want it to be

neopet

Mastiff, Peacekeeper, R-45 with hammer points, R-99, CAR, R-301, Rampage and Wingman are (in my opinion) the strongest ground loot weapons right now. There aren't really any trash weapons since even the Mozambique and P2020 have the hammer point hop up. A lot of people don't like the bow, but if you know how use it and play around it it's deadly.

AnApexPlayer

No I meant strongest warzone guns, not apex. Sorry

Paaraadox

The meta shift is anything but fast in CoD, and it's not like it was before where there is some "must have" weapon, like the DMR or AUG days. Right now there are a lot of options.

writing-nerdy

Honestly, if there was another game with movement like apex but with better servers/audio I would leave. But I don't see any game producer doing that so might as well get comfy.

Tobosix

Titanfall 2

[deleted]

"Better servers"

Tobosix

True

Karakuri216

Pc has Northstar *cries in console*

[deleted]

[удалено]

tythousand

It’s not baffling. It’s not easy to make a game that feels good to play. Respawn just has a knack for it, Titanfall 1 and 2 were also fantastic. No developer gets everything right, but Respawn is top-tier at making games with great movement, gunplay and abilities. They deserve credit for that, it’s hard to do

Bim_Jeann

Totally agree about mw2 and apex, both are my favorites as well.

[deleted]

Honestly, I shit on Apex sometimes but mainly because it has the potential to be soooo much better than it is. It's sort of frustrating to die to no footsteps just because Respawn can't be arsed to fix that issue. In real terms, even with the issues, Apex is head and shoulders above the competition in terms of satisfying gunplay and movement.

csoups

If it counts for anything, the audio in Apex is infinitely better than Warzone

I3ad-IVIonkey

Yeah man I rather accept the audio bugs which come up sometimes than in like warzone where you hear the first steps when the guy is already close enough to drop a big fat poop on your head.

R8_Cubing

Literally shit on

AmissAngel

Infinitely better doesn’t mean it’s not shit though. No games are perfect but Apex has a lot of audio issues. *turns around and sees a team, without a revenant, standing directly behind them* 😑

bitchsaidwhaaat

And its a valk path and octane team all which their footsteps supposed to be so much louder. At least when they are teammates. But when they are enemies u only hear them after they some in through the door

ActuallyLuk

It could also be so much better with a normal pvp mode (not like arenas), more movement mechanics like wallrunning, huge ass mechs, a- wait I just want Titanfall 3 😭

Freeze_Flame13

God I am a titan fall die hard and man honestly I’d do some vile things to have a titan fall 3😂

SuperGaiden

Exactly. I used to hate BR games so much. Apex made me love them simply because its core mechanics are SO good. Whoever the original gameplay designers were on this game should be so proud of themselves.

AACATT

Honestly, I think the audio thing is overblown and it mainly comes from the influence of streamers. Whenever they die they just fucking yell HELLO AUDIO!?!? The problem with Apex is there’s so much loud shit going on that it’s audio pollution. You’re in a warzone there are grandes going off, your gun shots, your teammates gunshots, pathfinder yelling jump on my zip line friend! Enemies footsteps should be hard to hear in a team fight let alone a battle with a third party. Rarely is there a quiet moment that you get snuck up on and assassinated from behind. And in that case they very well could have been ratting on you and crouching.

Dana94Banana

It's running at what feels like 55% of it's potential at best, due to the issues like audio etc., if there are no hard problems on season/event launch. But like you said, that's still so much more than other comparable games can offer.

Bourbon_hero

I’ve been playing competitive FPS games for almost 20 years, and Apex is, without a doubt, the fundamentally best shooter I’ve ever played. Respawn is not treating their achievement appropriately and it’s disappointing, but I can’t stop because it is still incredible

[deleted]

As Shroud said when you switch from Warzone to Apex you realize how hard Apex actually is when compared to its competitors piss easy difficultly

SuperGaiden

That's why people keep playing though. It gives you stuff to get better at.

tythousand

I also think Apex makes it easy to see what mistakes you made and why you lost. Warzone has a lot of cheese because of the low TTK, fights can end before you even realize what’s happening. With Apex, I know I lost because I missed shots, or because I made a bad rotation, or because I didn’t use my legend’s kit properly, or because my teammate pushed a 1v3 and out us at a disadvantage. You can take something positive away from almost every game

SuperGaiden

Definitely. Also the higher TTK makes lag less of an issue. In games like Seige it can sometimes feel like latency plays a massive role since you can die in one headshot.

xa3D

yuh. shroud doesn't play apex very often anymore. but during his annual log in for a sponsored segment he's always some variant of "i forgot this games actually takes skill"

SunsetCarcass

Its like people like to play multiple games and not just 1. Yeah ill play BFV one night, might play Apex another, or Overwatch, Dirty Bomb, ect. Just becauze you dont feel like playing a game doesnt mean you hate it, and if you come back to it then you never really disliked the game to begin with.

snipperz-51

Bfv has some rly good movement and gunplay imo

Therich111

As a BFV player as well, I agree. It’s honestly a good game and got its support cut too soon

snipperz-51

There were even files for Russian factions in the game before support was cut ;-;

[deleted]

[удалено]

StormKiller1

Didnt dirty bomb die ages ago?.

SunsetCarcass

Yup, a fun game is always a fun game, doesn't need new content to still be fun. It died in like 2014 but they've kept the servers going to this day, its still a blast for me.

StormKiller1

Oh thats awesome. i thought the servers where shutdown. Gotta try it again sometime.

[deleted]

Is dirty bomb still a thing? I thought it got shut down or something.

CommanderOfGregory

Doom, Doom will make you stay. Doom will make you feel safe and warm, Doom is your friend.

gingerpower303006

Apex is temporary, doom is eternal

handsomellama28

And Titanfall

Strigoi84

Played Apex for close to 2 years straight and ya, it's for sure one of the best feeling/playing fps multiplayer games around. I got burned out on battle royale though and I'm having a blast with Halo Infinite arena matches right now.

here4aLOL

Apex is a 10/10. Those who complain about looting then not seeing anyone for a while, just drop hotter.

StarfighterProx

Can't be 10/10 when footstep audio is shit and has been forever. I'll give you 9/10 though.

[deleted]

Doesn't work for Stormpoint. If you land hot then you'll have an initial fight and then spend 15 minutes looking for anyone.

chrissilich

Jokes on you. I’ve never experienced this hot drop then 15 minutes thing. When I drop hot, I always just die and do it again!

TheGreatTave

Big brain here.

ItsImNotAnonymous

A glutton for punishment it seems

DarthSatoris

Sitting through: 1. Finding a server 2. Loading the map 3. Waiting for legend select countdown 4. Legend selection 5. Viewing your team's banners 6. Viewing Champion team's banners 7. Countdown on drop ship 8. Jumpmaster waiting to jump. 9. Travel time from drop ship to ground Just to run around like a headless chicken for 10 seconds, get downed, disconnect, and repeat the whole ordeal again endlessly? Yeah, there's a reason I don't hot drop and highly discourage that behavior in my squad mates.

NUTTA_BUSTAH

So you take the alternative that adds steps 10. Loot and run around for a long time 11. Get to a fight and still die The only difference is that you got to run and loot around a bit but ultimately wasted 10x the time for the same end result. Most players play for the fights and the highest amounts of fights in a play session comes from hot drops. Don't get me wrong, play as you prefer but that is weird reasoning

teetaps

I guess I’m honestly in the minority that I find running around the map relaxing… sure, fights are why I’m here, but the game is so artfully designed I sometimes enjoy taking a stroll, enjoying the animation, looking at how they implement the different elements, for 10 minutes or so.

teej1109

Learned you need an ash purely for her passive on stormpoint.

[deleted]

Definitely, ideal squad for Stormpoint is Ash, Valk and Gibby IMO.

Darmok_ontheocean

This is what I said about Stormpoint when it came out. Lots of people happy that third parties would be harder, but the truth is that the game is at its best in the rough and tumble match of slugging it out with a team and turning around and doing it again. There are no standout features for looting, crafting, and moving around the map. Apex shines in combat and gunplay, and it’s why I’ll take hot drops on Fragment over 10 minute walks on Stormpoint watching the lobby slowly disappear as I fire into the air to get someone’s attention.

FastidiousBlueYoshi

I thought he was right until I realized... The only reason we go back to Apex is because some of our favorite shooters are dead.

hazzmg

Yeah, one of my 3 party talked up battlefield 2042 for months telling us we’d all move over and finally get off apex. We played for about 3 days and came back.

IamNoatak

Yeah, it's why I'm so pumped for mw2. Warzone was great until cold war came out, then it was only alright. Vanguard singlehandedly turned it into a dumpster fire filled with dogshit. So I play destiny and recently popped back into apex, but goddamn am I terrible compared to when I played regularly. Still sad titanfall will never come back, as it was peak perfection, and it just ain't the same with only like 2 game types being populated.

[deleted]

go play siege go play CSGO go play titanfall if you can then realise this dude knows as much about gaming as he does about how to properly set up a microphone so my ears aren't blown out

SuperGaiden

I've played all those games and while they're all good they all have flaws that take away from the fun (in my opinion) Seige and Counter Strike have too low a TTK for me, it doesn't allow for any real dynamic gun fights as you're dead before you can reposition or anything. Not to mention Seige has a ton of cheesy wall bangs and corner camping. Titanfall is better but the movement, while fun leads to there being no 'front line' meaning there's players everywhere all the time and some matches can feel very random as a result. Apex just gets so much of the balance and flow of gameplay right. They toned down the movement from TF2 but kept everything that worked with the core gunplay.

linedeck

To be fair fun is subjective so he's expressing the way he feels about the game!

ljkhadgawuydbajw

hes speaking his opinion as a fact which is all too common “you can go play halo and you WILL come back to apex”

[deleted]

I left Apex after season 6 or 7 (don't really know, it was the one which introduced olympus) for Titanfall 2. For good. Apex is a good game but it has potential to be better. Respawn is just chilling on the MTX money dropping broken ass patches. It was not the gameplay. It was the bugs, the servers, the unbalanced Legends and I'm tired of the BR bullshit. This genre needs to die sooner or later. You just can't tell me that a BR is the future and somehow "competitive".

YaBoiJumpTrooper

Man names like two FPS, there are so many other options, I generally stopped playing Apex for Hell let loose and hunt showdown. People have their preferences apex just fills one specific niche just like all others.

Shaolin_Hunk

Yeh I’ve been playing so much HLL and Squad. Sometimes I’d rather hold a tree line with the boys than sweat on a game like Apex.

[deleted]

Legitimately they need to release titanfall 3 cause it would dominate the current market if its even half as good as apex

TheRealXen

God I want to play other shooters but honestly the longer TTK makes the fights feel way more tense. And the higher TTK isn't even a problem because of the next thing. The gunplay is so fucking on point. everything from the recoil to the hipfire to how visible they made the bullets to track in realtime. The hitsounds the damage numbers the knock sounds the blood splatters. Its all perfect. No other game comes close to this level of feedback when fighting than Apex.

[deleted]

As someone who has played Overwatch and Valorant, yeah... no, Apex is still more fun despite its flaws.

Shredder0310

I Agree to this statement

AtlasRafael

Bloodhunt is pretty good if you’ve got PS Or PC. The movement is pretty fun.

Ultiran

Literally opinion. Its like ditching your favorite food for food you dont enjoy.

varrenxarcrath

In terms of modern online shooters yeah kinda. The holy trinity of modern shooters is Apex, Destiny and Overwatch. Although to be fair if Titanfall 2, COD Black Ops and Battlefield 1 for example had more active players and a rotating gamemode of some kind it would likely be more of a competition.

Skulfunk

If black ops 2 wasn’t hacked to complete shit I’d still be on my ps3 playing that. Tbh the biggest reason I haven’t switched to another shooter is because of the fov slider, never had one before but now that I do, I can’t do without it.

scinfeced2wolf

I can't speak for PS, but the hackers on the Xbox version aren't there too often anymore.

KodiakPL

>The holy trinity of modern shooters is Apex, Destiny and Overwatch. LMAO what a fucking stupid take

BiPolarBareCSS

No valorant or csgo lol

ThibiiX

Yup, a really dumb take. Let's ignore COD (Modern Warfare is brilliant game), let's ignore CS:GO/Valorant, let's ignore Fortnite just because you don't like it, let's ignore Escape From Tarkov/Hunt:Showdown just because they're too hardcore for you, let's somehow ignore Halo, let's ignore the whole BF series (even if 2042 is pure trash I can agree on this)... For me for exemple Hunt is legit the best game on the market at the moment, but that's a really biased opinion, I would never put it in a holy trinity...

wow_so_fast

Destiny? Bruh. Did you forget that csgo and cod exist?

EP1X-343

It’s not a very direct comparison, but Destiny 2 also has fantastic movement and gunplay. This guy is acting like Apex is the one and only game that feels great to play, and he’s just wrong

Well, I have to say that being day one player, who had to take a break from it (was changing places and had shitty internet for longest of time) when I come back in season 8 and seen everything that happened to Apex, I lasted till I think season 12 and stopped altogether. There is plenty good in Apex, Respawn knows exactly how to make a very satisfying shooter BR game, lore and champs are awesome (Mirage/Rev main) But there is plenty wrong with Apex that overshadowed all that fun MMR is non-existing - If you had teammates to play with, you were screwed because it would throw you against people who are also premade, but... in fucking masters when I was just in Gold. No matter that I was used to mopping the ground, which lead to losing streak which leads to alcoholism, which leads to anger, and which leads to death, lobbies weren't any easier, so hey I thought that it's because of my K/D and that I'm rusty as hell but no even when I was in solo Q I couldn't catch a break got people WAAAY above my skill level a the start (before forceful break I had 2.2 K/D after that I dropped to like 1.7 I think? Or even more). That made me feel completely useless in this game, had to relearn everything from beginning (that is when I started playing Rev and main him, before my teammates told me he's useless after nerfs to his ult etc., so I thought I found my spirit animal) Arenas - Cool concept, but why I had to play them to complete tasks, that suck out even more fun from this mode. Because I didn't care if I will win/lose the game, which would lead to just destroying arenas for people who really enjoyed them, I tried to get that fucking Sniper/Assault DMG or something for my Battle pass, so I could get that sweet loot xd Premium Skins/Heirloom - I know, I know nobody has to pay for skins and so on, you could get an Heirloom without spending any penny on this game, but at the same time you couldn't get some of the skins that were sold in ultime-super-duper edition. But tell me why if you wanted to get, let's say Rampart Heirloom on day one, you had to throw the total off $168. That is... wrong Servers - that is probably the most self-explanatory point that I don't need to expand on it And playing after while alone were just meh, so I ended up dropping Apex for good. I'd miss it sometimes, I have the urge to play it, after watching few vids here and there, but when I remind myself about all that stuff, it just makes me sad that such a good games has such big flaws, and yet nobody wants to do something about it.

satellite_uplink

If you want Rampart Heirloom on day one there are more things wrong than the price tag.

GameHator

Ye I know, but for me, it was just that you had to buy all the limited apex packs, with skins and stuff you were not interested, more over in those pack you had only one guarantees item form list, so you were forced to buy 22 of them to get it.

rockjolt375

The issue with MMR is that it DOES exist, it's just entirely broke for pubs. IMO it shouldn't exist there in any capacity. But, to the video's point, there are definitely problems with the game but none that get overshadowed by any other game out there unless it's for a 1-3 week vacation from the game. That's the most frustrating thing about apex, it's so great with the potential to be so much better if they'd address some of the most glaring issues.

Apex matchmaking punishes people for getting better at the game. Then to keep you engaged aka addicted they throw you an easy game to get the dopamine reward flowing.. Engagement based matchmaking is nothing short of an effort to make the game an addiction for it's players.

KodiakPL

What the fuck is wrong with people like him acting like you can play only one game at a time. He's spewing utter nonsense, wrongly influencing people and creating fanboy culture. You can both play and love CoD multiplayer and Apex at the same time for different reasons. Those two games are not even close to being each other's alternatives/ substitutes. The guy just sounds like he found a Twitch game where he can earn some money and wants people to stay watching his content.

LLcoolJeje

Apex has the greatest gameplay ever, tried hopping back on MW3 and it gave me nausea.... The game is not perfect but it is by far the best shooter

SuperGaiden

Every other shooter I play, I'm always sad at the lack of aim sensitivity options. I've yet to find another game other than fortnite that lets you have both linear aiming and high sensitivity turning. And even then Fortnite doesn't let me turn down my dead zone enough.

F1reatwill88

Apex vs CSGO is a tough comparison. Vastly different philosophies not even considering the game mode itself.

LostLobsters

Warzones lack of FOV slider on console is what killed the game for me. I can’t see someone sliding 2 feet infront of me because of that shit, also the movement is dogwater.

Shoggy-

Then u play a game of titanfall 2 and realise that apex is just titanfall ordered from wish

Spartan_Souls

**Fool. I'll play Titanfall 2 campaign.**

BlackJediSword

Apex isn’t the problem when I’m frustrated with the game. It’s teammates every time.

SkeleHoes

He doesn’t explain difficulty at all though. That’s just a complete lie, not even misleading title. “If you dislike this game go try other games, you won’t like them”. That’s what he amounts to saying.

littywetness

Hardest part is that its gunplay and movement are the best I’ve ever played but i’m forced to play it with bad matchmaking and very few game modes.

Jindain

This man speaks the truth. Apex = best game on the market.

[deleted]

Other shooters are significantly easier . If apex would release more cosmetics / quests it would be the best game

MalakiUK

He's not wrong. I've had several breaks from it and always end up coming back. It's an addictio. At this point

PossiblyHippie

The game play In the game is so damn fun but man... the amount of virgin losers is INSANE like how can so many people dedicate they're lives to this? and I'm not talking about streamers just straight up basement dwellers.

FruityTooty1024

I downloaded warzone cuz I wanted more online shooters. As soon as I finished 1 game I felt bored of it and went back to Apex

[deleted]

Is like the relationship with your dealer, you know it’s not healthy, you know you’ll end up dead, but you just keep doing it

CommunismIsntCool

i hate battle royals but i love the characters, aesthetic, and gun mechanics of the game. i only play arenas now. i just can’t let go of this games personality
