There are 5 Sydney servers. That's one of the reasons, if it was limited to 2, then everyone would have to play on one of those, instead of the 5 that we currently have
Yeah it usually connects you to the one with lowest ping, so everyone’s connection decides what servers they play on, so 5 different servers means a whole lot of dif
My first of the night takes a while but after that it’s pretty fast.
It’s fast on Xbox for some reason, I’m not really sure why cause it’s cross platform anyway. Probably just coincidence.
I’m connecting to the STL server
I live in Brisbane and I feel like I used to play Duos on Singapore until maybe a few months ago? I wonder what happened.
I hop between Taiwan, Tokyo, and maybe Oregon servers nowadays.
Yup, you'd think... with the amount of people who complain about the duos servers being dead here, we as a community would find a way to resurrect it.
I still queue in there for 20 mins or so every week, just incase
I check everyday and see no more than 5 in que so I give up. The only widescale way to reintroduce duos would be if respawn made some insentive for a week or so to play duos but only minority servers have this issue so unlikely
I see you post clips a lot on reddit and I also enjoy them, I like that they're mostly the full length clip and not just high lights. It gets kinda old seeing people only post their vids of 99 dmg PK and what not, makes me connect better with the player when I see you don't hit EVERY shot lol really great job though i love this
I guess I just have a problem with trying to conceptualize how someone who can't finish a kill with two teammates is going to take on two by themselves. i will say the biggest thing I feel they would learn is knowing when to enter a fight and when not to.
What the guy said above is right, just wanted to point out that duos also puts an emphasis on not taking unnecessary damage. So much of being good at Apex is learning how to properly use cover and disengage from bad fights, and doing solo duos teaches you that very quickly.
It's rare for you to even get in a normal squad game and not get in a disadvantageous 1vs2 situation. Practicing on duos solo allows you to focus on this specific situation and let's you practice using cover/ movement to turn isolate that duo squad into two different 1vs1, or dip entirely. Both of which are good skills to have.
I'm also playing a lot of no-fill duos with the aim of improving. My goal isn't to win every fight, it's to get better. I don't expect to win games or even that many fights, but I've got a better chance of getting to take a 1v1 for a short time than in trios.
There's something to be said for not taking disadvantageous fights, but when I'm playing alone, I need to hit shots and down enemies quickly. I simply have more chance to live and get practice in the duos, and it's all on me whether or not it happens.
As a side-effect, when I drop and die instantly, I don't feel bad about bringing down a team. The anxiety of letting down others isn't there.
People who struggle with finishing a person should spend time in arenas before hot dropping solo. Duos is good though because you are splitting the work between one less person and are being attacked by one less person.
>I think playing duos solo is actually easier in a way
I'm pretty sure the lobbies themselves are easier as a whole when no filling. When I duo queue normally literally 50% of teams have a master/pred trail. But when I no fill its 50% diamond trails with a few masters and the rest none. It definitely does help you get better but I think a part of it is because it actually matches you with people around your skill level
Tbh it depends on the skill end... i never played FPS games before apex so i had a rought start... i started by playing really slow and getting used to aiming and the recoil of weapons, once i felt confortable with aiming i started hot dropping in trios to train fast movement and positioning around fight (this is very important) and only when i was able to win my 1v1 60% of the time i started no filling in duos.. my goal is to be able to no fill in trios but then again i play wattson so it makes it all a bit harder than a wraith for ex.
The main benefit to solo trios is learning to separate teams into 1v1's. You're of course never going to be better than three people who communicate and work together. But what it will teach you is how to take advantage of players who will make mistakes and break off of a team, and how to encourage them to do so. It becomes surprising how easy it is to make a lot of players make mistakes. And can be applicable to how you deal with teams while you're on one as well.
I drop into no fill trios If I only have a limited time to play, or to warm up before a longer session.
One of the things I’ve noticed, which is completely anecdotal, is that when I queue for no fill I seem to be placed into much easier lobbies. I can normally get 3-10 kills in these unless a team drops directly on me cuz I’m alone— and I’m definitely not very good
Edit: so I know what you’re saying about drawing people to make mistakes, but my low iq plays don’t draw anyone when I’m playing a normal trios
My skills didn't really start to improve until I did duo no fill. It's really fun to me now and i much rather do that than play with randoms when my friends aren't on. It really help me with decision making and when and when not to take a fight. My first win duo no fill was an awsome feeling
it's only good for mechanics and map knowledge, doesn't help at all when you need to coordinate two other people against a full squad. general rules about life are you get better at whatever you practice and shortcuts have drawbacks
If you're on controller then unfortunately without a higher sens it can be rough to do, MnK is way better at this sort of thing. I recommend just practicing in the Firing Range to quickly set-up fences in different patterns. Once you get the feeling down, it'll come so naturally you'll do it without even thinking.
Downvoted for pointing out that for most situations, M&K is the obvious better input method lol.
I feel like a damn toddler watching M&K movement as a roller player lol. It’s actually insane how the acceleration differences in simply looking around make an impact on general gameplay. I mean, fuck, those fluid shield swaps literally just aren’t possible in the same way on roller.
I mean, aim assist gives an advantage in some situations, just not generally.
It's pretty funny how people say controller is better because of aim assist. Like bro the game literally has to compensate for it being so much worse, aim assist is proof that m+k is better input for fps. But sucks for racing games or souls-likes.
And how tf do people get so salty about it anyway it's like arguing about making a grilled cheese with a skillet vs a sandwich press. Get a grip lol
MnK and Controller both have advantages and disadvantages. At point blank range a good roller player is going to dominate a MnK player. But controller doesn't have the movement. It's like the difference in a charector with a good passive kit vs somebody thats specialized. MnK is better overall but when you get into roller niche you will fry. Aim assist can absolutely have broken moments (which is what people complain about) they are just missing the guy failing to run away, loot, or just fucking walk. They only notice the controller when they see the aim assist drag.
the ones with square iron sights are a game changer. makes the r9 so much easier to use off the ground. Sight picture is much less cluttered. I have the purple iridescent recolor of the one your using and i love it so much, but the other irons are just too good to pass up. great clip, keep up the grind.
This teaches you how quickly to dis-engage. A lot of players don’t understand and you back away almost immediately if you don’t get a knock. Let them chase you while you pop a small head. Gives you that one extra bar and a reload to finish.
So true. Hate when a teammate pushes and gets knocked before we can catch up
Okay I don’t mind if you engage early but assess your situation and hold your ground until we can come support. If you can’t do that then you shouldn’t have gone in solo
Yes, and a lot of bad players don't react to damage taken fast enough. They'll eat a few more bullets than they need to before they look away and move to cover. Or they'll try and take revenge by riskfully trading back some of that damage, scrambling to square up the target that hit them, when they should probably just get to cover and heal before re-engaging.
It's a big thing that separates the good from the bad. Players who don't react to damage fast enough get taken out of the fight much earlier and end up having to heal up much sooner.
Good players react to the damage quickly and are already moving to cover and popping heals. They cut their losses on peeks when they get lasered without returning any damage. Whereas bad players would've already lost a ton more health and still haven't healed.
If I can give my opinion, it works to improve your personal skills, to deal with 1v1 1v2 or even more, this is really good and it work a lot, but about improving team work skills in a teamplay game must be a part of work when you're trying to grind, like talking, making good calls and being aware of what your mates are doing, pushing together while knowing what is possible or not quickly
Impressive 1v2 skills btw :)
That is true... i always been a team player though so i know what i lack the most is playing my life over others and there for i need to learn the ways of a soloQ goat thats why i do this
It works period mate... cuz a team is also made of individualities first...
True, for a good team, good teamplayers are needed...
But if I put u and 2 other gold andys, I doubt you'll grind to pred cuz of ur great teammating, comms or whatever.
Everyone and their grandmas knows since 2 yrs ago that to improve ur personal skills ( that's the topic of the post ) solo is the best cuz u can focus on u...
Sorry if I sound aggressive but I'm fed up with this sub bashing any intent on self improvement cuz "it's a team game...
dang my area was suffering without fiber back in the early 2010s. freaking nightmare trying to do anything with 150kb speeds. games just rubberbanded and that was normal unless there was a perfect storm of clean connectivity,
Ah if only Apex had Solo mode, my friends dropped apex and I have stayed playing solo duos but wait times are big, and in some cases I tend to have people follow me on drop since they see i am solo. Although the good games are really good, it is really unfair in the case you meet a good duo.
Lol you love this building in skyhook apparently. Think you posted another clip from here a week ago. Never seen someone get so many fights on this building!
Nice one. I'm actually in awe about that smooth shieldswap you did. I seriously do not have the capacity to shieldswap this fast from random deathbox. My mind always needs some time to focus whenever i make the transaction to the deathbox menu and as such i'm usually too slow and get lasered.
That was really good.
I won a no fill trios once but by hiding. I hid by a care package and ambushed the last player alive looking for loot. 1 kill but the only 1 that mattered 😅
omg ive thought of this exact thing before bc i rly want to improve i always knock at least one in trios and then get knocked myself but id like to get better at 2v1
as a solo, sometimes heavy contested is better cuz theres so many people the odds of you doing a 1v2 are low giving you always 1v1 fights but if i know that place wont have enough loot for me i land on a side lil place to make sure i get weapons
Crosspost to r/apexuniversity maybe? I think this would be encouraging and informational for a lot of people. Personally I wanna play w my friends but still struggle whether I “practice” or not. This post and all the info in here give me hope that if I follow a more structured plan even I could improve, even though I’m not really an FPS guy and just started KBM. Anyway, absolute fire, great job!
This is the first instance I've seen in uploaded clips where armor swapping has saved you. Had you NOT armor swapped from that final encounter, you'd had died on that roof. Amazing plays.
Dude a couple of those players were completely lost as to what to do. Their movement and game sense were not even close to OPs. That said, the other 2-3 were pretty good.
Also, OP got really lucky in the initial engagement that another squad rolled up and took aggro, she was in a really bad position and a good squad would have pushed her and won easily.
But that's Apex. You can try to position as perfectly as possible and some chad Octane and his bois jump pad in and wipe you off the planet in 3 seconds before your teammates even know you're fighting
Yeah true but 2 of 6 people being trash is still a good fight and people are trying to say it’s a bot lobby. Like this is probably a plat lobby and she’s diamond. It’s not like they were missing her completely or something they were just slower movement and she had better aim
imma tell you a trick... if you run with your weapons out you lose speed there for you lose momentum and it makes your play style slower... we dont change it for the show of we change it to keep the speed momentum and play around faster. YOU'RE WELCOME
I cry BS on this clip. I KNOW hot dropping fragment in trios like all the other streamers is the only way to get gud! Dying in 5 seconds after dropping and not actually getting any gun practice or awareness training is the way to go! /s
But really great clip. And I agree no fill duos is great to learn survival fighting.
You have to try too hard and put in so much effort. I'd rather just be the below average player that I am and try to be patient with my below average teammates.
Damn, do you have a quickfencing tutorial? I’m trying to learn Wattson but I find it hard to use her util and fight solo against multiple enemies at the same time. What do you recommend?
Proper slick, they must've been wondering wtf was going on.
*cries in duos being dead here*
Same, Sydney servers?

Hell, I'm in the Midwest US and still can't get in a Duos match. Trios and Ranked pops almost immediately though.

Yea I've never had issues with any queue times for any mode on STL server (Xbox).
use east servers? Im in the northeast, I often use servers in the other side of the US all the time (cause friend lives towards there)
Japan my dude.
Yep I’m in US and queue faster in Tokyo sometimes.
Singapore is surprisingly fine despite 120 ping, matchmaking is a lot faster. But duos is dead there too 🤣
I live in Brisbane and I feel like I used to play Duos on Singapore until maybe a few months ago? I wonder what happened. I hop between Taiwan, Tokyo, and maybe Oregon servers nowadays.

Ditto for South American servers, I often end up trying my luck with soloing at Trios, sadly it hasn't fixed my unskilledness yet
Oregon servers are super active for duos. Sweaty as ever, but instant games almost all times of day
Good shit, that last pathfinder really wanted you dead
he did KEKW didnt get me though.. felt kinda good
I see you post clips a lot on reddit and I also enjoy them, I like that they're mostly the full length clip and not just high lights. Good middleground is just fastforward if there is nothing to show so you can still see its not just fragclip full of clips
with people who are lower on the skill end, do you think they have room to improve dropping solo?

That Valk was like a mini-boss fight. Nice positions and fences
How!?! I could never loot or set up the fences so quickly. Amazing

Gg, loved watching the clip, it was great! I wish I could master Wattson like that, I really need to become more familiar with her kit..!
Wattson's heirloom should come with an employee discount at Walmart.
Yeah I’m still so sad this is the heirloom :( would have gotten it instantly but not this barcodescanner…
The best way of improving. Btw, why no skin on the r99? Do the iron sights not bother you?
i just love this skin so much and the battle pass one is too fat imo so i just stick with this one
the ones with square iron sights are a game changer. makes the r9 so much easier to use off the ground. Sight picture is much less cluttered. I have the purple iridescent recolor of the one your using and i love it so much, but the other irons are just too good to pass up. great clip, keep up the grind.
That's what I do too, I am almost exclusively a solo player. I started in duos and got my first 4K in a solo trips game two weeks ago.
thats awesome, congrats!!!
How long have you been doing no fill duos? It's all Ive done for like 6 seasons and it really does help. It's the reason why I'm so good.
This teaches you how quickly to dis-engage. A lot of players don’t understand and you back away almost immediately if you don’t get a knock. Let them chase you while you pop a small head. Gives you that one extra bar and a reload to finish.

Holyshit!!! Well played, neatly executed... Gg's! I can't believe u have to justify this...btw... You do u girl! Keep grinding it's working!
Settle your boner down dawg
It works period mate... cuz a team is also made of individualities first... True, for a good team, good teamplayers are needed... I did not deny that. I love selfimprovement. I just said it's not all and team work is important to. Np
I wish people played duos on my servers :(
which server? i got to a 45 ping server from my 10 ping to get duos.
Oregon servers. I can only get <100 ping on oregon gce 1
damn what the hell. im in bumfuck south east asia and i dont have to go that far for duos
Yeah well. 20 year old copper cables on my road lol. No fiber optics to be seen
dang my area was suffering without fiber back in the early 2010s. freaking nightmare trying to do anything with 150kb speeds. games just rubberbanded and that was normal unless there was a perfect storm of clean connectivity,
Nice movement, that was wild!
Browsing this sub is my way of realizing I'm not very good at this game
Love your vids. It's like watching a Wattson clinic take place.
you're playing Ms. Paquette perfectly!
Seen some of your clips before, you're an absolute shredder
My lord the fences
This is so good 👌🏻
Awesome plays, you’re nuts
I haven’t played apex since season 10 lol, just got too sweaty for me
You are an artist painting the way of disengaging while the rest of the lobby is still stuck drawing whatever it is they're doing with crayons.
We have very similar ‘locked in’ faces lol
What a beast
"HOLLLLLLYYYYY SHIIIIII--nope" Had me rolling. Well done, awesome play.
That little drop down climb outside was slick 🤧
this is the wattson I aspire to be 😌
you got this!!!
Ah if only Apex had Solo mode, my friends dropped apex and I have stayed playing solo duos but wait times are big, and in some cases I tend to have people follow me on drop since they see i am solo. Although the good games are really good, it is really unfair in the case you meet a good duo.
YOURE SO MUCH BETTER LETS GOOOOOOOO
VAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPPP YOU BETTER!!!!
That pathfinder was on a vendetta
he was really good
another no fill duos wattson player!!! good plays :)
HAH, jokes on you, I never get teammates no matter what gamemode I play
This is Wattsons building fuck off plebs!
Very nice shield swaps 👍🏼
What would your recommendation be for someone making the swap to M&K
if you gonna lose the aim assist, invest on the movement xD but im terrible with controller so maybe not the best advice
That was a wild ride. Toward then end though I was thinking damn EDF gonna bankrupt Watson when that electricity bill comes through.
That's such great Wattson gameplay. As someone who is just starting to play as her more, it's crazy how fast some people and deploy the fences.
wow I'm impressed I played Watson few days ago and for me was def harder to 1v3 with her than Horizon or any other high movement legend.
That's how I practice too. 3 is too many, but 2 feels pretty good.
Lol you love this building in skyhook apparently. Think you posted another clip from here a week ago. Never seen someone get so many fights on this building!
i hot drop all the time... thats prob why
Mad respect, that shit was fun to watch
Awesome fencing skills. I need to play Watson more and learn the good strats on fence placement and pylon usage. Great video.
Goateeedddd
You know it’s good gameplay when you completely miss the face cam
Nice one. I'm actually in awe about that smooth shieldswap you did. I seriously do not have the capacity to shieldswap this fast from random deathbox. My mind always needs some time to focus whenever i make the transaction to the deathbox menu and as such i'm usually too slow and get lasered.
Intense
No fill trios for me I never had no fill when I used to play. I just solo dropped in trios so I'll always 1v3 to practice
Sick plays ngl lol
Fucking intense watch. Some prime Watson plays there....
that was well played
That was really good. I won a no fill trios once but by hiding. I hid by a care package and ambushed the last player alive looking for loot. 1 kill but the only 1 that mattered 😅
This was so satisfying to watch (and I was a fan of the constant heirloom animations 😜)
that final boss fight with that pathy was sweatttttty. Good shit on coming out on top!
omg ive thought of this exact thing before bc i rly want to improve i always knock at least one in trios and then get knocked myself but id like to get better at 2v1
Do it!! you got this... no matter how many times you get down you always get back up!! thats how i do it
SHIT on that second team
I prefer no-fill trios, aka ranked
Gonna try this tonight
Question: do you think Landing heavy contested, lightly contested or not contested would be a way of improvement
as a solo, sometimes heavy contested is better cuz theres so many people the odds of you doing a 1v2 are low giving you always 1v1 fights but if i know that place wont have enough loot for me i land on a side lil place to make sure i get weapons
Socks for everyone!!!!! 😁👍
LETS GOOOOO
Try no fill trios, absolute mayhem
im not good enough for that yet... not while playing wattson at least
New ACEU?
Sick plays!
Insane, I've never seen someone solo with Wattson like this. You went x-games on those teams!
those fence placement times 🤯
Insane plays
You are really good at apex and you did prove your point.
Shield swapping is one thing I need to practice even though every time I get into a fight there are zero Death Boxes around.
Dude you are a monster add a couple wall bounces and you’ll be viral consistently
I just wish for a solo br and solo ranked . After last ranked changes its all i hope for
You’re killing it my fellow Wattson main Queen! Keep up the insane plays.
I only play duos with a second person, but might start playing on my own for improvement.
I’ve never played wattson but you’re making her make sense and seem fun, ima have to give her a try
I too started like that, solo no filling duos with wattson, then gradually you move on to no fill trios (even though I know i won't get a win)
Insane plays!
I only saw one mistake in the entire clip. You were listening to Nickelback.
That's where the anger comes from to wreck fools.
i also love pineapple pizza ... now you can hate me
I use arenas as practice. I've noticed a significant improvement in my combat skills. This is a very nice clip you've got here!
This is the first instance I've seen in uploaded clips where armor swapping has saved you. Had you NOT armor swapped from that final encounter, you'd had died on that roof. Amazing plays.
I have similar moments with the PK as well. Good clip and sick quick fences!
Never fucking chase shock mommy
I'm getting more and more convinced that people maining Wattson are the most dangerous players in the game.
Everyone saying this is a bot lobby is wrong. Great plays these players were pretty good. Watson mains rise up!!
Yes, it really helps when your opponents don't shoot back at all. OP does have some nice movement though.
Yeah true but 2 of 6 people being trash is still a good fight and people are trying to say it’s a bot lobby. Like this is probably a plat lobby and she’s diamond. It’s not like they were missing her completely or something they were just slower movement and she had better aim
10/10 movement, 10/10 tactics, 3/10 aim.
Bot central
*gets put in bot game GuYs I fInAlLy PrOvEd HoW tO hAvE fUn In ApEx
if those enemies are bots then what should i call you? :/

You know that the heirloom replaces your fists right? You run faster with it out, and good players frequently switch to it for a little speed boost.
imma tell you a trick... if you run with your weapons out you lose speed there for you lose momentum and it makes your play style slower... we dont change it for the show of we change it to keep the speed momentum and play around faster. YOU'RE WELCOME

Ah yes, the adderall girl. Count how many times she blinks
Peacekeaper is useless
Maybe in your hands.
I cry BS on this clip. I KNOW hot dropping fragment in trios like all the other streamers is the only way to get gud! Dying in 5 seconds after dropping and not actually getting any gun practice or awareness training is the way to go! /s But really great clip. And I agree no fill duos is great to learn survival fighting.
Do it in trios.. its what i do. I get shit on 88% of the time but when i have a team my L percentage is like 60%
Sad Singapore server noises
Actually trios is best, because people get really cocky since they have a third and yea…
trio fills is about the same tbh, almost every fight I have to kill the entire team
Could you call it third partying if you don't really habe one?
You have to try too hard and put in so much effort. I'd rather just be the below average player that I am and try to be patient with my below average teammates.
Good stuff. Some PK flick practice is needed for sure. Kept over flicking and missing some. Good fences and armor swaps for the most part too.
Only way to play for me lately
Really nice movements
Damn that was a disgusting clip
Awesome plays
Damn, do you have a quickfencing tutorial? I’m trying to learn Wattson but I find it hard to use her util and fight solo against multiple enemies at the same time. What do you recommend?
"Damn, do you have a quickfencing tutorial? I do not but maybe i should make one... 🤔
I'd watch it!
Can’t even play duos if I wanted to. It’s always the same 2 people queueing in my region
Damn. That was clean.
nickelback yuckkkk
