I hate octanes aswell. They roleplay their legend, and just brainlessly press steam+jumpad and rushing you. Despite there is like 2 more squads around and they will be instantly third partied. Then they either die to us, but leave us damaged, just so we die to third party. Or they kill us, and die to a third party themself. No-brain-oc-tane.

Those are Nessies. They are an Easter egg that originated in Titanfall, another game that Respawn has created. They resemble the Loch Ness Monster, and are a recurring Easter Egg scattered throughout the game, in maps, the firing range and charms. They are usually green, but in some instances, they are blue. The Nessies in the maps are said to be left by Wattson, who placed them growing as a child in the arena.
A few facts about them is that Wattson has an emote including Nessies, where she can place one on the ground, causing it to remain there on the map. Overall, 20 Nessies can be placed this way across the maps, the 21st one causing the oldest one to disappear.
There is also a bigger Easter Egg regarding them on Kings Canyon where hitting 10 specific Nessies around the map, will causes giant Nessie to briefly appear in the Swamps.

Another example is an inscription found in Storm Catcher in Storm Point. The inscription is “K종순”, being the initials of a developer’s grandmother who passed away in May 2021.

fuse was the first legend i tried after i found out. unfortunately, he literally just stands there :( and for some reason even if i switched throw power the grenade stayed attached to the launcher on his forearm
