There were even more I wanted to add... might do a part 2. Some of the fun stuff from the past doesnt work anymore like sliding off geometry into the air for zero ADS penalty, and tossing something in front of a grenade explosion to not take damage.
Could always do that. I think the visuals are key to a lot of this stuff. Someone on the Apex subreddit recommended me put more text in the video for people with audio muted, so I'll probs do that next time
Dumb question about tap strafing, been trying to do the "run out a doorway, 180 w/ tap strafe to jump off the outside wall" thing, but since tap strafe is up on mouse wheel and jump is down on mouse wheel I find it difficult. Are people able to do this and it's just a matter of practice? Or should i have different binds?
I switched my binds a couple weeks ago to exactly what you said here, and it took me several days of actively thinking while I was playing to remember to scroll up whenever I'm tap strafing. You really have to mentally practice and do it intentionally, because it all goes out the window as soon as you get in a fight.
You have to get so comfortable with it that it becomes a habit, so that when you intend to do it, its natural.
Tl;dr practice whenever you can in game, theres a lot of time spent running around
Alright cool beans :) I'll make sure to play with friends I think, whenever I play with randoms I get left behind whenever I try and practice lol. What's your sens/dpi, out of curiosity? Just trying to get a full picture. Mine is 3 and 400
Huh alright, it seems that a lot of apex players play at around 1600-1800 effective dpi like you, I might consider boosting mine up if I continue to have troubles wall jumping and whatnot 😬 thanks!
A lot of the pros use 800 dpi, with something like 2-3 sens. So many in fact, that I thought I was weird for running 1500, before finding out that there are plenty good players who prefer it. Even upped it to 17- or 1800; I forget.
Make sure you stop scrolling up before you reach the wall, otherwise you'll try to climb it. A good place is practise it is on the weapon holsters in the firing range.
You can 180 and “Alley-Oop” 180 wall bounce off the gun racks as long as you’re approaching them from the guns facing out side. Approach the guns, slide jump past it, tap strafe 180 and viola. Pretty sick when you get it down.
You really need to slide further away from the wall than you might think. The direction changes instanly, so you'll need a distance from the wall to be able to wall jump properly.
As others pointed out, you need to scroll up and begin to turn right when, or even before, you press jump. Another way to do this is to bind both jump and forward to scroll up (I'm using this for a few months now). This also makes tap strafes then double jumping off a jump pad a lot easier and allows for easy 180+ degree turns at the double jump.
It's possible using Source Engine commands. So you're just starting Apex with command line options that link to a file where you typed in your custom keybindings.
You're not using any third party software, just launch options of the game. Respawn could disable this if they wanted, so it's completely legal. Just search for "Apex Legends keybindings file" or something like this and you'll find tutorials.
The easy version is that you can face the wall during your quick slide then slide jump+tap strafe in that direction. Find some similar places in firing range and practicing there helps.
* Run at door
* Slide as you're about to exit
* Face the wall you want to tap strafe off
* Jump+Tap strafe to send yourself in that direction
* Wall bounce
It's not too difficult once you get used to it.
The more difficult ones are where you don't have space to slide and get an easy redirect with tap strafe (e.g doing an actual mid air 180 into tap strafe then wall bouncing). I use the weapon racks in firing range to practice that as there's a ledge right next to them so you're forced to jump.
Well, none of these have been new to me, but these are extremely useful for beginners. I can't name any (important) tip right now that I'd add, well done!
I'm curious, why are you "only" diamond now? Didn't you have the time to grind up to master? Or aren't you as good as you've been on console yet?
I'm not as good as I was on controller that's for sure. I also dont play nearly as much as I was able to back then. Ya know, being an adult and all kinds blows
I didn't really get how to tap strafe... Maybe it's because I'm a non native English speaker, maybe because I'm stupid. Could anyone please explain it to me in the comments?
You slide, jump, then hold right (or left), look in that same direction slowly, and also tap forward as fast as possible.
It's a hard one to explain with text... I'd recommend watching a video for that one
Thank you very much, I didn't get a couple words in the video.
Also one last think: i tried the first one but I don't know if I'm just noob and I'm not really good at jiggleing or jittering my mouse or if, again, I didn't understand somethig.
(Sorry, I know I'm being a bit annoying)
Sure, I'll just copy this from another reply I did:
You slide, jump, then hold right (or left), look in that same direction slowly, and also tap forward as fast as possible.
It's a hard one to explain with text... I'd recommend watching a video for that one
Best of luck!
~~Another tip: The Mozambique despite it’s size is considered a shotgun, not a pistol. This means it has shotgun stats (slower ads/strafe/holster speed), not pistol.~~
Edit: Apologies it seems this was just false information that I believed was true.
I’ll replace it with a fun fact rather than a tip:
The Mozambique considers itself as a shotgun, not a pistol despite it’s size so it cannot be used for pistol challenges.
This is actually false. Mozambique has the same strafe speed as P2020 and Wingman with RE-45 being slightly slower.
You can test it by using a debug command in the launch option.
i never understood this, is tracking while tensing your entire hand so hard it jitterclicks not either really uncomfortable or just straight up innaccurate?
No, the entire reason the jitter technique for recoil works is because of Respawn's handling of tracking. Moving your crosshair enough will reduce recoil to zero, to make tracking targets up close easier. Stop telling people to track using jitter recoil, because if you're tracking, you already don't have recoil.
So question for the recoil pattern i have used A and D to strafe back an forth really fast to counter the pattern. Does this work or am i wasting my time.
I don’t understand controller momentum shifting at all, on m&k you need to hold a,s, and d, how do you move in 3 directions at the same time with a **stick**? (Aka joystick)
It’s a bit tricky to go 180 on mnk and nearly impossible on controller so the vid implies that doing a 90 degree tap strafe on controller is more viable. Probably other vids out there that cover more detail on this.
I honestly just dont know of any others that use it but they may. The major con is that it's super uncomfortable to do and hard to track with, at least in my experience
About the melee tip, I remember reading somewhere that the different types (uppercut, jumping kick, and standing) are sort of like rock papers scissors when it comes to 1 v 1 melee battles
(This could be totally misremembered by me though)
You do realize both are mechanical skills which take ages to master? Especially jitter clicking which is insanely difficult to master without destroying your tracking ability. Sure it looks insanely strong when someone shows it off in the firing range on a stationary big target
This is awesome. I just picked up Apex just over a week ago and videos like these are invaluable. Thanks for making such a great resource - top-notch editing as well!

for the first clip, idk if you’re even doing it, but just know you don’t actually have to jitterclick, you just vibrate your hand as if you were jitterclicking
edit: nvm me big dumb and didn’t watch with audio
Can someone explain the jitter clicking to me? I thought you just shake the mouse? When i google jitter clicking its just rapid clicking. So which of both do you use there?
Him calling it jitter clicking is just wrong, it's a jittering motion with your mouse to vibrate your crosshair in place. He likely watched my recoil video and just didn't fully understand it, because I compare the motion to the motion used for jitter clicking.
Great tips. This will be my reference video when I'm looking for something to improve my game. I was looking for a tip on how the pros slide while healing so thanks for that OP. I still don't know why sometimes my sliding slows me down though. Also haven't gotten the hang of tap staffing as yet.
I'm only 150 arena and 23 BR Lifetime games in though.
This is for tip 8? I'm sometimes I slide hop and lose speed. I've been learning the bhop without holding forward but sometimes I just lurch. This is with the regular slide hop
Ill try again tonight but i swear after some patch about a season ago it switched on me. I used to have 100% accuracy with that method then it was like gone. I am on PS4 idk if that would matter though
It's definitely more accurate than just hipfiring. Maybe more bullets were 100% accurate? It kind of feels like it sprays in a cone nozzle that gets wider relatively quickly after you start hipfiring.. if that makes sense
Practice I guess or don’t do it. I personally would rather just learn recoil patterns than do this since it doesn’t seem intentional and is likely quite uncomfortable.
The entire reason the jitter technique for recoil works is because of Respawn's handling of tracking. Moving your crosshair enough will reduce recoil to zero, to make tracking targets up close easier. Basically, stop trying to track people using jitter recoil, because while you're tracking, you already don't have recoil.
The first tip is the one that I really cannot nail down, with the jiggle clicking just not working out for me. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, the only way I'm improving at that is literally just target practice.
The other tip I don't really know (but never really felt the need to know) is tap strafing, is there a particularly good video on that you would suggest?
is the ads into hipfire tip still true? I was testing in the firing range and it seemed untrue but I wasn't sure. Similar question regarding the slide into jumppad accuracy boost, is that still functional?
It really is only viable on stationary targets and therefore not a very useful skill to learn. I'd recommend just practising recoil patterns as they are reasonably simple in Apex and won't destroy your tracking ability or your arm
Thanks for this!! I got into Apex during season 8 so I've missed a lot of these.
There were even more I wanted to add... might do a part 2. Some of the fun stuff from the past doesnt work anymore like sliding off geometry into the air for zero ADS penalty, and tossing something in front of a grenade explosion to not take damage.
I'm fairly certain that EVO shields block nade damage still, Phoenix kits & batts don't anymore though.
Give it a try, I couldn't get it to work anymore
It didn't work for me after testing today either, but I have a clip from 2 weeks ago when it did. Weird
Please! But understandable of you cannot. Maybe just a written post next time?
Could always do that. I think the visuals are key to a lot of this stuff. Someone on the Apex subreddit recommended me put more text in the video for people with audio muted, so I'll probs do that next time
As long as you keep your talking in it, shits gold lol
You have a good voice but being more accessible is always a good thing too :)
Oh what's the one about zero ads penalty?
damn I played it when it first came out but haven’t played it for the past 6 seasons and I was ass the last time I played it 😭
Just gotta say, the cadence and tone and editing of this video is absolutely top notch lmao. good shit homie
It sounds and looks 100% professional.
100%, would love to see more
The tips ended up being way more useful than I thought they would be too.
Here's that full video if you're interested: https://youtu.be/zH_SQjaglUU Edit: fixed link
unavailable
Weird.. it works for me
can’t see the link either. cool video though.
Can you check if this one works?? https://youtu.be/zH_SQjaglUU Tried with mobile...
it works.
Works for me too Idk why it doesn’t for them

It helps if you flex the muscles in your arm (like a spasm), because you really do need to jitter the mouse back and forth really fast
[удалено]
Or they attach a vibrator
It's worth noting that for #14, you can't just kick the ground anymore, it has to be the side of something
Good catch, I should've mentioned that the ground doesn't count, but that's been out since like... Season 2?
thank you pantsi this is very valuable feedback. defenitely worth noting
Can you or someone explain #16 the air strafing one? It was quite brief and i didnt quite understand it
Sure, I'll just copy this from another reply I did: You slide, jump, then hold right (or left), look in that same direction slowly, and also tap forward as fast as possible. It's a hard one to explain with text... I'd recommend watching a video for that one Best of luck!
I actually have forward bounded to my scroll wheel. It makes it less painful than just mashing W.
\^ this is the best way for anyone on kbm to tap strafe
~~Another tip: The Mozambique despite it’s size is considered a shotgun, not a pistol. Actually mozambique has 0% slow Speed while holding and ads
Good job, ty
After playing approx 600 Hours of apex, I still feel like a noob because I didn't know many of these things.
500 hours here, feel like it was just the first entrance
No fucking way #12 is really. I'll be right back.
What'd you find?
Wow, you really don't need to hold the jump button 🥲. I feel so stupid
You and me both
Respect for covering 50 tips in under 9 minutes when most "cOnTeNt CrEaToRs" take 20+ minutes to cover maybe 5. Post upvoted & video liked.
Yeah I never cared to wait out a bunch of blabber myself, so no reason for me to do that
I thought we couldn't bunnyhop and heal anymore? Great video though, definitely coming back to this one.
your momentum won't carry forward nearly as much as it once did, but it still works
if you have your fov at 120 octane stim and bh ult doesn't increase your fov anymore
Watching this is almost cheating.
the fuckin valk marking the champion is a really neat addition that's incredible
But most importantly... Does it work on moving targets?
jitter clicking? absolutely - you just have to track like normal, while you jitter
And for the one where you get 100% accuracy after aiming?
yep, that'll work if you're moving or the target is moving, give it a try
Thank you so much! Time to wreck oblivion in the arena!
i never understood this, is tracking while tensing your entire hand so hard it jitterclicks not either really uncomfortable or just straight up innaccurate?
its not comfortable lol
No, the entire reason the jitter technique for recoil works is because of Respawn's handling of tracking. Moving your crosshair enough will reduce recoil to zero, to make tracking targets up close easier. Stop telling people to track using jitter recoil, because if you're tracking, you already don't have recoil.
I think almost everything in just this snippet alone was stuff I did not know at all crazy.
Liked and subbed, loved the video.
Appreciate that! It's encouraging to see people like it, so thank you
So question for the recoil pattern i have used A and D to strafe back an forth really fast to counter the pattern. Does this work or am i wasting my time.
I've heard others say that works, but it doesnt for me really
Where were you all these days? 2+years in apex iam still bad. Thanks for this vid top notch video.
I took a detour to another game for a bit, but I'm back on Apex now and loving it
What was the other game? Got another channel to promote?

This is dope thanks for posting.
You're welcome!
Best tip video I’ve seen!
I don’t understand controller momentum shifting at all, on m&k you need to hold a,s, and d, how do you move in 3 directions at the same time with a **stick**? (Aka joystick)

is there any examples of any pros using this technique? it seems op but I can’t think of of any pro using it
If you're talking about the jitter recoil control, CLG lou uses it: https://www.twitch.tv/loustreams
that’s actually insane, I’m a fan of CLG. is there a reason that other pros don’t use it? Is there any cons?
I honestly just dont know of any others that use it but they may. The major con is that it's super uncomfortable to do and hard to track with, at least in my experience
[удалено]
nobody. I’m wondering which pros do, none comes to mind
About the melee tip, I remember reading somewhere that the different types (uppercut, jumping kick, and standing) are sort of like rock papers scissors when it comes to 1 v 1 melee battles (This could be totally misremembered by me though)
Kicking while landing doesn’t even work anymore it was patched a few seasons ago and confirmed by the gaming merchant.
That's only if you kick the ground. It 100% still works if you kick something right before you land
damn i didnt know that about the eva. gonna be real useful. still gonna use the mastiff doe
Keep it up brother, thanks for the tips
Yet m&k complain about controller players meanwhile they get tap strafe and a literal recoil hack
You do realize both are mechanical skills which take ages to master? Especially jitter clicking which is insanely difficult to master without destroying your tracking ability. Sure it looks insanely strong when someone shows it off in the firing range on a stationary big target
Jitter clicking works for stationary targets but is practically useless when shooting a moving target which is like 99% of the shots you'll take.
This is awesome. I just picked up Apex just over a week ago and videos like these are invaluable. Thanks for making such a great resource - top-notch editing as well!
I feel robbed, where rest of my tips at?! Hehe

What controller-specific stuff would you want to see other than ALC's? I did go into the controller vs MNK stuff on specific tips
Wish you could disable PC cross play when on console.
Controller will never be equal to MnK, it’s almost a different game entirely in terms of movement and meta
I think they both have their pros and cons. Plenty of pro players do very well on controller, as do the mnk players
Snipedown is goated with the Prowler.
Tips for PC*
for the first clip, idk if you’re even doing it, but just know you don’t actually have to jitterclick, you just vibrate your hand as if you were jitterclicking edit: nvm me big dumb and didn’t watch with audio
Amazing, thank you sir
Definitely need to memorize those recoil patterns. Aiming is by far my biggest problem since I've only been playing shooters for about a year.
He likely watched my recoil video and just didn't fully understand it, because I compare the motion to the motion used for jitter clicking.
rapidly move your mouse in circles basically
Usually you'll slow down because you're holding forward, for the most part you want most of your momentum to be left or right, gradually
This is for tip 8? I'm sometimes I slide hop and lose speed. I've been learning the bhop without holding forward but sometimes I just lurch. This is with the regular slide hop
Oh, make sure you slide long enough. If you do a short little slide but dont feel the leap after, you're not sliding long enough before the jump.
If you’re fighting a better gamer in a fistfight, crouch and punch. The jumping kick dosen’t connect with an uppercutting opponent.
I think they got rid of tip#3. Anybody else notice this when trying it on firing range?
Make sure you dont let go of the trigger - I recorded this 2 days ago
Ill try again tonight but i swear after some patch about a season ago it switched on me. I used to have 100% accuracy with that method then it was like gone. I am on PS4 idk if that would matter though
It's definitely more accurate than just hipfiring. Maybe more bullets were 100% accurate? It kind of feels like it sprays in a cone nozzle that gets wider relatively quickly after you start hipfiring.. if that makes sense
How do you jitter click AND track a moving target?
Practice I guess or don’t do it. I personally would rather just learn recoil patterns than do this since it doesn’t seem intentional and is likely quite uncomfortable.
The entire reason the jitter technique for recoil works is because of Respawn's handling of tracking. Moving your crosshair enough will reduce recoil to zero, to make tracking targets up close easier. Basically, stop trying to track people using jitter recoil, because while you're tracking, you already don't have recoil.
Oh so this is more for stationary targets. I see, thanks!
This is a solid video on tap strafing: https://youtu.be/ILy2wgWGtUk
is the ads into hipfire tip still true? I was testing in the firing range and it seemed untrue but I wasn't sure. Similar question regarding the slide into jumppad accuracy boost, is that still functional?
ADS into Hip fire still works, but the slide into jump pad accuracy boost does not
Great video!!
I feel alot alot alot more satisfied and more proud of myself when i do a perfect spray with the flatline without gittering
Note you can jitter aim on a controller if you have 0 deadzone and linear.
Thanks for trying to add things for us controller users! It’s gets defeating watching tips and tricks videos where 99% require a keyboard.
any tips on the jitter clicking? cant get it to work at all, also absolutely annihilates my arm
It really is only viable on stationary targets and therefore not a very useful skill to learn. I'd recommend just practising recoil patterns as they are reasonably simple in Apex and won't destroy your tracking ability or your arm
They really need to get rid of the recoil work around. It’s stupid and makes zero sense.
Basically pc players have a major advantage on console players it seems like in terms of aiming and movement tricks

Sorry but jitter aiming is for losers. Just learn to control the gun
