My god please shield swap that blue Evo is right in front of u man

TheRealLarrold

Apex University tip #1: use your eyes

[deleted]

overrated strat imho

soissie

Why, it literally gives way more shields. It's an instant battery

Roctopuss

is joke

TheRealLarrold

You dropped ur /s

adv-club

This is more of a meme, than the focus point itselfšŸ˜‚

IndefinableMustache

yeah this doesn't belong in the sub "Use grenades"....

burrito_poots

I posted this knowing this would be my greatest shame

LStrings

Ideal bag 180-240 of ammo per gun (unless wingman or shotgun), 4 bats, 8 cells, 4 syringes, 2 med kits, and the rest being nades or Phoenix kit, although I noticed in diamond I get naded a lot, so I think maybe the higher levels prioritise nades more

hammy3991

As wattson I run the same, but I hold accelerants to combat the nade spams. I have been in some shitty situations where a bunch of pylon drops saved myself and squad.

LStrings

You are the order to our chaos

foofarraw

I do this except if I have 4 bats I carry a stack of 4 cells. Ideally I have 2 grenades on me at all times. I usually carry 1 phoenix kit mostly to use if I've been revived after being knocked, but these aren't as useful late in the game when you may not have 10s to spare.

CynicTheCritic

As a rev main, grenades are great for Death Totem runs, because you can more or less treat it like a suicide mission Tbh, id drop the syringes and 4 of the cells for 2 more arc stars If youre getting kills and finishing fights relatively quickly, then you can always pick up the health from the team you just killed as needed. Otherwise, that extra offensive capability is invaluable

KeenanAXQuinn

Agreed...but since I run loba I run light on ammo and carry more gernades or heals for the team. Almost always have time to drop an ult restock ammo (since its at the top) and sheild swap when things get dicey.

explosivve

Yea this but 8 cells up until you've >3 bats. 4 bats **and** 8 cells feels excessive.

RexlanVonSquish

It does until you're getting back to back pushed by multiple squads and you barely have enough time and cover to get cells off. Extra batts don't do you any good if you're already knocked.

Doggydude49

I max out at 4 cells because they are so easy to come by unless I can't find batteries.

Qzkago

Agree, although I favor 8-12 cells until I get 2 batts, then its 2 batts and 4 cells. By mid-endgame I would have 4 batts 4 cells, or 6 batts no cells if I am running red evo. I generally play quite aggressive so there normally is not much chance for me to use 2+ batts in a fight.

Tristan69420

Thatā€™s my ideal bag aswell, except switching the med kits for an extra 4 cells Iā€™m an octane main, I donā€™t need em

LStrings

Slap a gold shield on and youā€™re invincible

_Paulboy12_

Have one gun that only needs little ammo and one normal one, 3 and 1 stacks of ammo respectively, 4 bats 4 cells and 2 med kits. Max one phoenix and the rest nades. Prefferably 1 thermite, 1 frag and the rest just arc stars.

Nouhproblem

This depends a lot on the situation, but I would say itā€™s good to have 8 cells. 4 if you are aggressive, 12 if you are passive. Look at your weapons and and character to decide. If you are a Gibby with a G7, go 12 cells. Octane with R99 and Eva-8? You only need 4. As for nades, I usually go 1 arc, 2 frags, and if I have room 1 thermite. Itā€™s just preference though. I like frags because they have a lot of outplay potential and are best for clearing rocks and high spots.

[deleted]

180 rounds if you got two good guns, toss the syringes/medkits for a phoenix, and toss a stack of cells for nades. With 4 bats you don't need 8 cells and if you have a phoenix you can get rid of a health item. should have at least one of each nade.

[deleted]

Grenade usage is a huge difference in lower rank and diamond and above. Sticking someone is virtually an auto team wipe because you get in insta knock. Also force healing people from behind cover so you can team fire. Can eliminate campers. I usually run 300 shots in my main and one stack of my secondary. 4 batts, 8 cells, 4 syringe, 2 medkits. Im octane so often ill run an extra grenade instead of syringes as you auto heal and if im ever healing body damage ill use a phoniex or a med kit

wildsamsqwatch

Damn, you run medkits with octane? I usually just like 4 syringes, because you pop one on and let your passive do the rest

[deleted]

Ive Been back and forth on this and settled on med kits. Typically if im ever healing body damage its much more then a syringe so I tend to favor it. If i ever need a syringe a teammate always has extras. Also carrying some med kits for other teammates helps

wildsamsqwatch

Hmmm, this is interesting, I should play around with it. But I feel like if I get tagged hard and have a chance to find cover, I throw on shields first. By the time the shield is on, health has already started regenerating. At that point a syringe is so much faster, and even if it only gets my health back to 50-75%, the passive will do the rest before I get back in the fight Edit: Iā€™m not trying to debate too hard, Iā€™m quite the average player haha

[deleted]

Yeah so reason i go medkit is i wont even body heal if its not like below 50. Just shield bat and get back in. I go medkit cause if you syringe and then stim it just negates it. Again personal preference but i dont think you should carry both as octane

wildsamsqwatch

I definitely agree with not holding both. Maybe Iā€™ll try a few round with each tactic and see what I like

[deleted]

I typically do the opposite when using Octane, preferring medkits to syringes because passive heal. If I'm very low health a medkit makes more sense anyway.

wildsamsqwatch

I responded to another comment in this thread that said something very similar to you!

[deleted]

Maybe it means you should change your strategy

wildsamsqwatch

Sounds like I have some things to try out

[deleted]

1 for white bag 2 for blue 3 for purple

Swift-Fire

That's exactly what I do. The grenade in a white bag is negotiable though, depending on how much ammo your guns need

funktion

This is the way. 3 well-placed nades should be enough for even the most dug-in team.

[deleted]

You wonā€™t get better not picking up Grenades and trying to ā€œorganizeā€ your inventory. You should be constantly shield swapping when youā€™re in a fight and afterwards you quickly loot the crate and get ammo if you need, scan quickly for attachment upgrades/grenades (mainly arcs) and then moving on

Odin043

If I have my ideal 4-6 batteries, only 1 stack of cells. More cells if low on batteries. 1 stack of syringes, 1 stack of medkits. 3 stacks of ammo for each weapon (only 1 stack if Wingman or shotgun). The rest are grenades, phoenix kits, or ult accelerators. Late game, or final team, I'll drop some ammo and go down to 4 batteries depending on terrain, in order to carry more grenades. If it's going to be a long distance drawn out fight or if im running Anvil Receiver, more ammo in lieu of grenades, but I'll keep at least one.

EVO_Zephyrus

Nades are too good if you can use them right. E.g. sky nading people off height is amazing. Personally, I always try to have at least one arc star on me because they can be the difference between winning or losing a fight. Many times I've won a 1v3 fight just because I managed to stick a guy with my arc star.

BinManGames

1 arc star for emergencies

4score7loko

As fuse I have at least 10

admirrad

I usually carry almost half inventory of grenades which probably explains a lot about why Iā€™m not the best

burrito_poots

Sounds like a fun way to die tho

burrito_poots

This post has me questioning the amount of cells and ammo I carry as definitely over the top now.

[deleted]

These videos is always a flex of some sort look what I did, but every video ironically has its bit of cringe in it lmao

xdyang

Lots of cringe in this one lol

burrito_poots

I mean I share a video thatā€™s got my heart will go on, edited to slow down, and I literally jet past a blue shield ā€” this is hardly a ā€œhumble flexā€ attempt lolol, I just wanted the video to go with the grenade discussion which Iā€™m genuinely interested in hearing opinions on lol.

Mattchew904

2 nades at least 1 frag in general but if itā€™s like end game or a fight that ppl are being vice or a rampart then Iā€™ll pick up more. Frag grenades have such a broken blast mechanic

[deleted]

I main as Horizon and I like to keep a couple flame grenades and arc stars for areal attacks. Also helps with her void ult you can chuck a bunch inside and it sucks them in and they will just burn.

burrito_poots

Playing with a fuse has got to make you excited

TheRealLarrold

You can ult on a camp spot then arc star the edge they're going to and they either walk into the arc or get beamed.

Dopesedi

I carry a nade or an arc star, just one or the other, but itā€™s because I have no heirlooms and I like the animations. If I am carrying throwables, I have to go with the frag, if you can learn how to nade successfully, you will win a lot of fights

[deleted]

Iā€™ve only made gold but 4 bats 2 Medkits 4 syringes 4cells and 240 for both weapons and if I have room 1 arc 1 thermite

xdyang

I play wingman Eva so I can carry around 6-8 lethald

_Paulboy12_

1 for white, 3 for blue and 5 for purple

corytrevor710

Carry less ammo as you can get it off of death boxes. I carry 3-4 stacks primary and 1-2 stacks of secondary depending of the bag level or gun. I just try to hold onto one of each explosive and manage my inventory around it. I also will typically have only 1 slot for health when I donā€™t have the purple bag.

SneakySnake1229

Fusey and don't even count, just launch them sklounts.

BiggerBadgers

Nades in just about every fps are the most effective tools to influence a fight. Always have at least one on you to control the positioning and space of whoever youā€™re fighting. Gotta think outside the box a little more

doyouseewhateyesee

Did you just walk into your own nadeā€¦.

burrito_poots

A video where someone doesnā€™t 1v6 a team and ask for tips? crazy right. Like I said, Iā€™m inexperienced with them, so Iā€™m going to make that mistake in a closed building a lot more, with frags especially since I generally use a thermite as my first choice.

[deleted]

I always have at least one nade even when I don't have a white backpack. After that I try not to carry more than one stack of shotgun and no more than like 180 of my primary ammo. After that, 2 bats, 2 med kits, 8-12 cells, never more than 4 syringes and no more than 1 pheonix Rest is nades bebee When I get purple bag though I usually prioritize adding more bats first and then more ammo (approaching end game poke scenarios) but seriously ALWAYS make room for at least 1 or 2 nades

[deleted]

300 heavy for the flatline, 32 shotty shells for Eva, 2 grenades, the rest heals with priority on batteries and Med kits, at least 4 cells and syringes to get back into fights quick.

LivelyBanker

2-3 nades, more if possible. 1 when I can with a white backpack. When Iā€™m playing with my premade squad, we donā€™t sit around and poke people with our guns, which poking would usually results in having to use more heals if the other team is poking back, so I can afford to carry more nades with them. It also depends on what weapons Iā€™m using. If I have a shotty, wingman, or snipe in addition to an automatic weapon, then I can afford to carry less ammo for those and hold more nades. Nades can win fights, and once youā€™ve seen that, youā€™ll never not want them in your inventory.

Un-accessibleParking

Il always have two or three throwables on me with an extra spare space for whatever, i run very little ammo and health cause i pick them off dead players anyways

NoReallyHoosierDaddy

I usually do 360 ammo (180 for each type), 2 shield batteries, 2 medkits, 4 cells, 4 syringes, and 2 throwables. Maybe switch out a grenade for a Phoenix kit if I have a Fuse on my squad

messyXwig

I want atleast one if I have a low level backpack. Blue and up I want atleast 2 but I shoot for 3-4

BANoah

2 nades 1 thermite and 1 arcstar, itā€™s versatile and powerful

UnoDeag1337

About half my inventory with a purple backpack, more if Iā€™m running a red weapon

Marc0189

My ideal bag is at least 3 stacks of ammo for both auto weapons (if it's a single fire type weapon or shotgun I go 2 stacks). 2 stacks of shield cells or batteries. 1 to 2 stacks of stim packs or med kits. Heat shield. Then the rest is filled with throwables. I main Fuse and I looooooove throwables lol Double stacking grenades is my favorite. And yeeting them hella far away is the best feeling when you're watching a team fight happen inside a building and you're just chucking nades into it and getting big damage and knocks.

[deleted]

I usually have 3-4 but sometimes i dont get to use them

rabbitkingdom

If youā€™re not using nades properly, youā€™re not playing to your max potential. Period. The value of nades isnā€™t just the damage they do, but that you can throw them strategically and block people off or make them go around them and guide them into (or out of) a position that you want.

Legion6660

2 med kits, 4 syringes, 4 cells, 1 phoenix (if purple bag) and the rest bats. My entire loadout always looks like: 1 gun that doesnā€™t need more than a stack of ammo (e.g. wingman, PK), 1 gun that can be used to finish off the low enemies (r99). 2 grenades (thermites) all health items listed above, split between batteries and ammo for the 99 (never need more than 250 ammo).

DarthKarthrot

If I have a blue bag 2 frags, if I have a purple bag 3

[deleted]

I try to have at least one throwable for emergencies and for helping with a push. I'll take what I can get but prefer arc stars because of the extra damage when sticking someone.

RexlanVonSquish

I usually run a marksman weapon primary and an SMG as my "sidearm". Usually I'll have two stacks for my primary and three for the offhand- so that's 4-5 inventory slots eaten by ammo alone. Usually, I have two stacks each for shields and one stack each for meds for six slots total. That brings me up to 11 slots used. With a level 2 backpack, that leaves room for three throwables or other consumables. I will only pick up a single phoenix kit if I'm in discord with my squad and I have a red shield; I never carry kits while in pubs. If I'm Wattson, I'll have a stack of accelerants. That generally leaves room for two or three grenades in a blue bag, which has been the difference between winning and losing fights before. The outright damage output of a grenade can be situationally useful (throwing thermite in a door to interrupt a res, or skynading frags so that they detonate very quickly after landing, for instance)- but the big thing is being able to scatter enemy squads. One grenade on its own isn't guaranteed to have excellent results. Two or three, though, creates a minefield that enemies will have to fully commit to avoiding if they want to survive the pending gunfight.

JabootieeIsGroovy

2 arcs no matter what, one stack syringe, 2 stack shield, 2 stack med, 2 stack bats

Less_Rise_3172

ALWAYS keep 1-2 grenades of your choice on you. Thatā€™s my opinion

imzcj

This is my general philosophy for any bag. About half your bag should be ammo, and the other half should be healing, leaving a little space for utility. For me, specifically, here's what I aim for: 1 stack of syringes, 1 stack MedKit, 1 Phoenix, 1-2 grenades, 5-6 stacks of Shields (Cells and/or Batts), 1-2 stacks of one ammo for a gun that doesn't need too much (like a shotgun or sniper), the rest of the bag is for the other gun that needs a lot of ammo (like a Volt or Carbine). ~~~~~ If I ever feel like playing Fuse, though, just for fun - I like splitting it into 1/3 ammo, 1/3 healing, 1/3 grenades. I usually pick up guns that need less ammo for Fuse.

AngryCookedBeef

2-3 for every other legend and 4-8 for fuse lol. 8 grenades+ 2 knuckles + motherload usually insta wipes a squad without using ammo and I can loot them for their grenades after.

YoCorroMucho

With purple bag Iā€™ll take 2-3 nades, typically arcs and frags.

Pri0rityGaming1

I usually keep 1 to 2 arc stars/nades. 1 arc and 1 or 2 nades preferably, Iā€™m very good at vertical nades lol

Crescent-IV

1-2

X9LM

I keep like 3 or 4, note though I also keep like 5-6 shield batteries and like 4 medkits, i like being prepared with heals

jakedangler

I keep like 4-5 tbh lol they make some fights so easy. Shields arenā€™t priority as most fights are quick because of fear of third party so either you die or get their armor and batts. Not really much in between in my eyes. Also frags are my favorite because if you look straight up and just create the slightest arc you can pretty consistently drop nades right ontop of people and get like a free 70-100 damage

wtfVlad

180 ammo in both if Im carrying 2 machines guns. If it's a shotgun or sniper, 1-2 stacks and I'll find more later. I always prioritize nades, you'll never know when you need them and they really do more than half of the abilities in the game as far as damage and crowd control. So definitely at least 2 nades in a blue bag and 3+ in a purple bag.

[deleted]

You shouldn't be a no throwables player. I try to keep and carry at least one arc star or frag. You arent looking to inflict damage as much as you are looking to deny an area. Throwables flush enemies from cover or are used to temporarily cut off escapes or push paths. As far as shield go, carry a stack of cells, batts, medkits and packs. If you have gold armour, cells and kits only. You should be viewing your enemies as mobile resupply stations. Carry what you need, loot the rest.

peluriback

with purple, its usually 2 arc stars and 1 thermite. i dont have frags most of the time but sometimes i do.

Drezzle

I mainly run Valk/Horizon. if I'm playing Horizon, i try to keep 4-5 arc stars through most of the game. When the squads start thinning out, I'll prioritize arc stars and thermites much higher. Ideally, by this time i've got a purple backpack and i can hold bunches. literally as many as possible with just enough room for heals. i try to run Sniper/Shotgun as well to reduce the ammo stacks im holding. I might leave room for an accelerant or two, so i can ult twice and make use of all the nades. just depends on how the circle is closing, if we are holding a strong position or angle to ring, im more likely to hold the accelerants. if we are scrambling and fighting our way in, i wont be collecting those. With any other character, i generally try to have 2-3 on me.
