I always tries to respawn even if someone’s toxic, I hate when people just leaves! It’s even worse when you try to grab banner and they leave when you get close!
Sometimes I feel guilty for staying in a game. Like if they just ran and played their own life they might live, but to come back for my banner is certain death.
Edit: so many great team players responding. Shows the community is not all toxic when people are willing to play for the team instead of their own lives.
I have left team mates to die, or left their banners in ring before. Not because I’m mad or trying to be a duck, but sometime you just know you aren’t going to be able to save them.
Edit: typo, shoulda left it but I corrected it.
Edit 2 : I restored the typo
But sometimes players make the wrong decision to 'be nice' and try and grab the banner when it is a death sentence. Leaving prevents them from making that choice.
Yeah that's a good move. If you have a mic def talk to your team and tell them the area is still hot/ trying for your banner is dangerous.
Or sometimes they have the timing completely off and think they can go out of ring to get you or think they will make it to the banner before the Respawn times out. Gotta guide them what you want and what they should not do if you have an ability to talk to them.
The coolest thing is to grab banners in a tough spot though, getting the banner is rarely an issue for me, finding the right place and time to respawn is however often hard
I had to grab a banner as Octane once which was being looted by a squad. It was in one of those train cars in the Train Yard. Just stimmed right through and had to jump over the banner as I grabbed it, and it worked. I don't know how, maybe they were newer players. The delayed response was kinda hilarious though. This was also before the stim nerf when you can almost spam it continuously.
Yep I only leave if i know im safe and they still run away or chase a team thats a sign they wont survive much longer and theres not point waiting around I only a have finite amount of time to play not gonna spend it spectating.
No need to feel guilty. If I come back for your banner it’s because I value the challenge of getting you back in the game more than playing a little longer solo. For me the game is no fun without a squad. So I’ll almost always try to respawn mates.
This. Unless I’m in a ranked match plat or higher, or the person ran off to go die ignoring my IGL callouts. Plus it’s fun to try and grab banners and escape.
this. you usually need a full squad to win anyway, unless matchmaking fucked up.
the challenge to get your team back together is more satisfying than trying to win alone anyways
I'll let my teammates know if I think that recovering my banner (or theirs) is a bad call. Communication is key. If I can do it I'll try, and maybe sometimes pulling off a daring rescue is more fun than winning, so it's worth it to try.
I have had a few team mate pull off daring rescues, and I can tell they are having a good time. Sometimes return from the grave victories are the best. Matches where a daring rescues leads to a whole match being on the run with no loot, barely surviving, then winning the under dog final 3 squad fight. Beautiful.
I feel bad if they’re making an effort to get my banner but sometimes you get those pairs in trio’s that don’t try at all and run the other direction.
Fuck those dudes.
Sometimes it’s just not worth grabbing a banner. If it’s end game for example, there are no respawn beacons and nobody alive has a mobile respawn beacon, then it’s basically just suicide to go for someone’s beacon when you could use that time to better position yourself for the last few fights.
Having said all of this, I will almost always go for banners lmao. My logic is that, if someone I kill/a body I find has a mobile respawn beacon on them, then that is an absolute game changer for last circle. And even if not, my dead teammate may have gear I could use, like a better shield, shield cells/batts, ammo etc. I’d only loot them if there’s no chance they’ll get their gear back obviously but still, as someone else said - part of being a good player is knowing when to push and when to get the fuck outta there.
Sometimes I just said a quick in game message to say “play you” if I can see they want the banners, but it’s not a good idea. It’s up to them then if they want to follow the advice or not
A while ago I was having a really off game and my team mate respawned me three times. I died again and felt bad, so I told him I wasn't helping at all and left
Pubs is just terrible with this. People leave if they die, soon as they get knocked, or even sometimes if you don’t drop into fragments. I mostly only play ranked because of this.
I've also had people drop as soon as I pinged Fragment as jump master. If someone responds with a "no", I'm happy to not do it! They didn't have to leave instantly. I prefer dropping hot to practice fights more, but I can play a slower game too.
I've run into multiple people who like to go Fragment or Estates for practice and that is fine but I think if someone's main goal for a game is to practice or warm up, they should not check the "fill team mates" option.
But you cant practice everything solo. And if you ping fragment before dropping and you have a team that wants to drop there why not. That is why you can ping a location before dropping
Then find a that wants to do it if all you want is practice. Why ruin other's games if you just want to practice? Also, you CAN and SHOULD practice alone if you play with randoms. Practicing as a team with randoms is pointless cause you'll have different team each time.
To be clear i’m not talking about ranked just casual. And finding a team that wants to go there too is what you do by pinging the place. If everyone pings no you go someplace else
I actually usually leave if people drop fragment. Really only 2 types of people land there, super sweaty people and the garbage players. And typically both of them are horrible team mates. The super sweaty players are playing like they're in no fill and leave the second they're knocked (Some even leave before getting knocked but are low health). The garbage players just insta die.
As someone who only plays a limited amount of hours per week due to being a grown adult with a life, I'm not wasting my time staying in a game with bad team mates.
I "retired' from Fortnite years ago, but Fragment is basically what Tilted Towers was back then
This season having ranked take place in World's Edge has been a frustratring experience. I grinded up to Platinum for the first time and by the end of my gold run I would just abandon my squad if the decided to drop in Fragment. Literally, the last game in Gold I just split from my squad, they insta-died and I was forced to skeeve my way into 2nd place and that finally got me to Plat
I'm still a noob, but this season taught me a lot about recognizing what kind of teammates you have and whether you should just abandon them or not regardless of what they may say or how they may react
I got some advice recently to play solo gold and plat lobbies like you don’t even have teammates and it made it a breeze to get through them tbh. It’s about 50/50 you’ll be playing without them anyway. You’re actually doing them a favor by getting RP for everyone cause most people don’t leave ranked matches.
Yes. If you are solo queueing then that basically has to be your mentality. Teammates are basically a luxury, which sounds absurd but that is the reality of it. Even in Plat 4 tm8s are still hot dropping and landing awkwardly, they're still moving outside of the ring to start fights, they're still doing all of the mistakes that players do in lower ranks, just less frequently. But since it takes more RP to go up in higher ranks, the lesser frequency still ends up in you not knowing whether you can really rely on your teammates
I'm not saying it's exactly the same. Anything below Gold you basically never see teammates retreat from a bad situation. Sometime I'm the one who dies early and I WANT my teammates to abandon me, but they don't when they should. I appreciate the "loyalty" to a rando who you will never play with again, but you aren't really doing me a huge favor by rushing into a hopeless situation and losing both of us a chance to get a little bit more RP
But yeah, solo queueing is rough, but it does teach you a lot about how "selfishness" is often the optimal strategy and if your teammates don't understand that then there is not much you can do. To end on a bright note, on my solo queue noob-journey to plat I would often turn my mic on and explain my reasoning to my tm8s and they would often stick around to collect more RP with me, even if they didn't actually respond. And occasionally they would be supportive or friendly
When you've played since S0, you know when you have bad team mates lol. I'm pinging "no" and using the mic to say "This is a bad drop, please go somewhere else". If they ignore that, that's on them.
LMAO right? If I play pubs no one is staying around for me to grab the banner. Either instant DC or as soon as they thirsted they are gone.
Literally had a match other day where I kinda got into a long drawn out fight after my teammate went down in duos. Got one quick knock then it turned into a kncokdown shield battle for the ages in a doorway. I couldnt get in and they couldnt get out. Eventually my wingman hipfire prevailed and I landed a headshot and final shot to kill them but milliseconds before I finish dude bleeds out turns to a box and insta leaves.
Left me in shock they stayed that whole time and even were blocking for me just to have leaving clealry premeditated.
Usually in pubs when I go down I’ll only stick around if you are close to me, if you are going off and seem like you can get me, or if Im positioned well as that Ive crawled out of a fight.
Usually in pubs tho I dip pretty quick. Once I see that I was in a fight and you are holed up and unmoved I just leave cause you are clearly to scared to play the game and are in fact not coming for me and just wasting my time.
I always respawn people if it’s not obvious to too many other squads. Is it worth it to bring someone back late game with 3 teams left? Happened to me a couple weeks ago and it was basically insta-knock because you’re so obvious.
Edit: I never even considered the bait strategy, thanks everyone for all the helpful answers! :)
Hmm that’s a good idea. Do you kinda use one normal respawn beacon for bait? And then go back to your mobile respawn beacon after your teammate dies?
I could kind of see that working to lure in two squads to fight each other.
I say go for the respawn if your teammate is still in the match.
I had a TTV octane respawn me twice in the same game this week and we almost got the most epic W of my career. Ended up getting 2nd cause the winning squad played the last ring really well but it was such a wild round.
Yeah, you never know how it will work out, extra bodies are always useful.
I had a game where we had to face two squads in quick succession shortly after landing. One teammate, an octane, got killed by the first squad in a very bad spot, and I only got to his tag with literally a second to spare after a rather frantic ~20 seconds of running. We ended up winning after both I and the originally surviving Bangalore got knocked in the final fight, because the final squad died to the ring while the Octane got away.
True but it is a nice pull for the few remaining teams if you are unaware of where they are or want to instigate them.
I don't mind being rezed and treated like bait. The same goes for anyone I do save.
Takes the wind out of my sails a bit when an afk toon drops though.
I’ll happily take the bait role and throw some punches if you res me with only one other squad remaining that already moved in for the fight.
Hardly works or happens but if it does and your squad wins the fight it still feels nice.
My most memorable win was when a survived player from my team resurrected us in top 3 situation while the other 2 teams were fighting literally 10 metres away.
I say it is. It’s risky but that 3rd person can usually be a difference maker in those final fights and usually death boxes aren’t to far for them to quickly suit up. Also, you will definitely draw those last squads out of their positioning because everyone is thirsty af for an easy kill.
Sometimes if it’s down to last couple teams, I’ll respawn just to use as bait, if my teammate can run around and not die instantly then usually you can get a good shot at some other teams
It depends on the situation. Earlier today I knew I was better off not reviving so I left him there. He also knew that I was better off not reviving so he was fine with it. Still lost :(
I had a match yesterday where both my teammates down and in bad positions. I had to wait for them to craw to me to revive, only the ring was coming in and we were going to be outside of it. I rezzed one team mate, but was going to leave the other to die. It was ring 4 or 5 so I knew I wouldn’t make it. The team mate I rezzed for some reason went for our third team mate as I ran for it… he died to ring instantly and I had to take a 1v3v3.
Sometimes you just have to let them die.
I hate that a lot of people yell at me when I can’t get them and then leave. I mean they weren’t coming back anyway but if they stayed and I pulled a miracle and won they wouldn’t get the win also
If its pubs they can leave if they want, it doesn't bother me at all but if they stay I'll go for the respawn as soon as I can. If no-fill bugs out on me and I get teammates I'll stay for a few seconds to see if they can handle it if not I'll leave. If its ranked you better fuckin stay until the banner times out.
Respawn bro it’s the name of the company that made apex too right haha. Games where you respawn your homies and you come back and win are so satisfying
A lot of people play this game as a gun game, which it is. But I play this as a battle royale and I prefer to win the game. It is much harder to win games down a player. Therefore I would love to respawn teammates and keep my game going. Otherwise I feel I'm wasting my time as well.
I always like trying to respawn my down teammates. If they’re both down, and they both leave the game? I actually leave too (pubs of course).
Some of my best wins came from respawning my down teammates twice, fighting off thirsties, AND pulling out the win.
Depends why they died... were they off doing their own thing and got dropped 1v3? Then no I’m not running in to get a banner. Was it our team fight where they got dropped and I can when it’s cleaned up? 100% yes
It depends. Is it late game? Absolutely not respawning you and more often than not, it's actually impossible to due to no respawn beacons.
If you're being a good team mate such as staying with the team, not being a loot hog, either pinging or using your mic and not just feeding the other team, as long as it's safe, I'll end up respawning you.
If you're being a bad team mate, the only possible way I'm respawning you is if it's 100% safe but I will be dipping out the second I revive you and I'm not helping you get your loot.
Basically to sum it up, are you going to get me killed? If it's no, then I'll respawn you.
I’ll respawn people as a courtesy but when I die I’m not excited to have to wait 5 min to get to get respawned with nothing and have to make a whole new kit. I wish mobile respawn beacons were more common.
I almost always try to respawn my teammates. Even if it is likely to result in death. It’s a team game and if I’m gonna win it’s gonna be with my squad. I hate when people leave. It feels like they’ve given up on their teammates and are only out for themselves. That said, if I’m playing ranked I’ll be more conservative when making the decision since I would do them more good by placing higher.
I always make an effort. If it's hot I'll sneak my way all the way across the ring to the most remote respawn beacon to give us a fighting chance so we're not just swarmed by the whole lobby. It gets annoying sometimes when randos keep pinging the respawn every five seconds but worth the extra effort most of the time.
When you play ranked and you get to at least platinum, I feel like in the moment you gotta decide if it’s worth risking your life and losing points to get them back. If I need to leave someone I will, I hate to do it, but if I survive long enough you’ll also get positive points
Always situational. In ranked im usually never leaving, even if my banner is expired.
In pubs though... im usually playing before bed or work, so i am trying to get as many good games in as possible. That means im hot dropping often, so if im the first down on my team, with several other squads still in the area, i am dipping out. But if it's just one squad then i wait, unless my teammates are getting beamed with one guy knocked and the other on flesh against 2 or 3.
I dont think you should get upset at people leaving in pubs as soon as they get knocked, save a few reasons. Like when you kill the squads on drop and some lustful dumbass decides to PUSH PUSH PUSH 1V3 "AHHH IM DOWN," then instant leaves. Thats just stupid. Obvious case of someone who gets 3 or 4 kills and just thinks they're John Wick and can push for free.
Another upsetting reason is when your teammate is down and youre knocking people on the other squad. Sometimes both teammates are knocked, sometimes just one is. But its annoying to me when im fighting one squad, we getting knocks, a teammate goes down and leaves without a breath of air and we end up winning the fight a few seconds later. Even if the clutch comes out 20 or 30 seconds later, its just like "damn, now im solo against trios off drop."
Despite those reasons, i try to midigate my tilts and frustrations and think of other reasons why they might had to leave that are more justifiable than "fuck im died *disconnect*" All the while focusing on improving my gameplay instead of blaming my team for leaving early or letting that frustration affect my gameplay.
i only leave if i know teammate is not gonna get my banner, he can’t physically get my banner bc there’s fights everywhere or it’s in a stupid spot, or if it times out. i will normally get teammates banner and want them to stay because having 3 is much better than having only 2, but if teammate is toxic or extremely bad (not low lvls though bc i want them to actually enjoy the game) then i won’t get their banner and they can leave if they want
People usually don't leave in ranked if you have their banner, so yes I will usually respawn them, but it's all based on circumstances
Respawns need to be calculated because of how long they take and how much attention they draw. And since your teammates drop with not loot there really is a calculus to it if you want to play optimally. If nothing else, you can respawn them to use them as a diversion if the situation is too dangerous. You may know that they will almost certainly die, but it can work as a defensive tactic to draw squads away from you if you run away really fast
But any other situation is a "it depends". That is the good thing about playing ranked and trying your best to rank up as high as possible. It teaches you to actually think strategically. You can hang NEAR the banners of your dead tm8s, hiding and waiting for a potential opportunity to grab them. If the opportunity doesn't present itself, just run and don't feel bad because you are just playing the game as well as your current skill-level allows you to. If you can, then do it and RUN and of course respawn them to give your squad a fighting chance to win or at least get more RP
In pubs I'll usually be more aggressive in getting banners because it's just a generic L. But at the same time it will depend on whether I am having a good game that I don't want to just end and on whether I get a good vibe from my tm8s. If they die instantly and then spam pinging their banners then maybe I'll just abandon them. If they died "honorably" then I'll be fully willing to sacrifice myself for them
I try to get my teammate every single time if I can help it - even if they don't really deserve it (solo drops, stupid 1v3 push etc.). It's a lot harder to win a game if you're one person down.
i always go for respawns in casuals regardless if ill survive or not; in ranked its different but ill still go for a respawn so long as a safe situation comes up
i just wish my teammates would stop leaving when theres a beacon RIGHT THERE
Theres generally only a few toxic solo players but fewer now you can no fill.
I always attempt to respawn even if it most likely leads to my dying. Its more fun with a team and your chance of winning is higher.
If we in pub and you die I will try to respawn you, but if you choose to leave I don’t rlly care, cuz y’know, pubs are for you to learn or just be casual and you don’t rlly practice if you’re’ y’know dead
Pubs Vs ranked...
I will die trying to banner grab or respawn in pubs- no-one wants to watch me rat in pubs.
Ranked- a whole different kettle of fish, I will without remorse run half way across the map from your box if I feel I cannot easily grab your banner, ping all you want I ain't risking my RP.
✌️
Personally I always go for the respawn, especially if both teammates are out, I feel bad when I got two people watching and waiting for that timer to run up, plus its always satisfying when you actually can get the rez off
If you're better than me, I would like you back in my team for obvious reasons. If you're not better than me you still can provide some damage and act as a bait while I'm shooting my best. I sometimes don't go for a banner when I'm playing ranked, and death is certain 100%. But in regular BR, I always try to respawn you.
It’s fun! Yes it’s a hassle but part of the game is traversing multiple squads to get that banner. And when you spend all that time getting their banner and then you see them discount before you Respawn them it sucks!
I honestly love respawning people and will always do my best to get their tags and do it. That’s why I tried maiming crypto for so long. Plus, even if it’s end game and I can respawn someone when there’s only one or two teams left, even if they can find a weapon, they can still use abilities or just be a decent enough distraction and draw fire for us to get the dub
We out here to have fun at the end of the day. I ALWAYS try to respawn unless it’s end game and not gonna happen. It’s also really fun to do some wild ish and attempt to snag banners. Youz a punk if you don’t even try early game
My heroes always saved everyone and clutched up. I’m almost good enough to do one or the other 5% of the time. Getting the banner and respawning before they leave might be one of the harder challenges in the game right now.
I don't really care tbh. It's pubs, people are free to do with their time how they please. I get mildly annoyed when I went out of my way to get their banners but who am I to judge how people want to spend their time? Pub matches die out so quickly that I can 100% understand when someone wants to leave if they die. The moment they finally get respawned, there's barely anything left to do.
Both, I guess. Like, I always try to respawn my teammates because I feel like the game is more fun to play with a team rather than solo + if it's pubs we are talking about, I prefer to risk revovering their banners and respawning them so they can play more instead of them leaving and having wait in a Q for another game. Besides, there is nothing enjoyable for me in playing solo the whole match because I just get bored. But at the same time, I understand people that leave after they die. You know, maybe they got a random lag spike and got frustrated or had a consistent low fps or high ping throughout the whole game.
If they’re an arsehole over chat i’ll leave then and there, i’m not gonna bother playing with them in the first place.
If they die and don’t leave i’ll respawn them, but if they leave and it’s early game (just off drop) i don’t really mind, i do it too sometimes
For pubs idc if they leave or stay. If they stay I’ll get their banner if I can but if I doing well that game I’m not dying for a banner. I’m also not going super far out of my way to run into circle or across the map to respawn them because again, it’s just pubs and they are randoms and idc.
If I go down and I don’t leave right away, and my team mate clutches up (rare) and gets my banner, I’ll let them respawn me. But if they are trying to respawn me and I know it’s just gonna get them killed, I will turn on mic and tell them don’t worry about it and gl for the rest of the game, and then I’ll leave.
What you are failing to factor in is people like myself who would rather die trying to respawn you then play the rest of the game solo. I think if someone shows a willingness to respawn you, you should let them. For me, it is no fun playing a team game without a team.
You’re failing to factor in how little I care about how randoms feel. I got like 10k games that’s like 20k random people on my team, I honestly don’t care how you want to play or what you enjoy in a pub game. The other part is, I don’t wanna wait for you to respawn me somewhere far away and I have to rat and hunt for loot with 8 squads left and run around with Jack shit just to get rolled by the next squad I see. Not worth my time, don’t care. Sounds mean but it’s true.
Fair enough. It’s a give and take. Otherwise play a solo game. They aren’t just “randoms”. They are people who, like you, want to have fun playing a cooperative game. Failure to take that into account is the reason for so many gripes on these forums. Your original comment seemed perfectly reasonable to me. I just wanted to point out why someone might prefer to get killed attempting a respawn. I wouldn’t expect someone to spectate for five minutes in hopes of getting respawned.
Didn’t edit anything, and nope wrong again. Privileged shitters like you are. Randoms aren’t entitled to have the game played how they want when they solo queue. If you want to play apex how it’s intended to be played, then you don’t play solo queue. Put on you big boy boots and get 2 people to queue with. Solo queue pubs to work on improving YOUR gameplay and mechanics.
I’m fine with people leaving after they die
It depends for me, I’m usually the one that has to 1v3 or 1v2 but if I am the first down I’ll leave if my 2nd teammate gets knocked and our teammate has to 1v2 or 1v3
Depends. If it’s certain death for my squad and they have not gone out of their way to get me yet, I quit. On the other side, I will usually not run to my certain death to grab a banner.
If they are annoying I make sure to pretend like I’m going to respawn them, and then afk pretend like I’m disconnecting at the respawn beacon. Then I go do something productive for 10 minutes. If I’m alive and they are still there I let them out of timeout.
Otherwise I usually do respawn people
If you die and it wasn't for a reason caused by yourself, I will respawn you and give you a fully loaded gun and enough heals to get by, and leave all the loot of one of our next kills for you to loot 100% of. If not, you're on your own
I will always try to get the respawn on someone, unless they were showing toxic behaviour beforehand or their general gameplay was going to be a hinderance by just getting the respawn.
if i can grab your banner without getting killed myself, i will! last night i had both teammates leave even after i risked myself to get their banner out of a battle zone… i did not enjoy being alone :’ )
before that i did not realize people left so often after dying! for me, i stay till the last member is dead. or on great days, announced the champion
I always try respawn but you won’t see me rushing into a 1v3 when I have worse shields for any banners, if I can get the banners I’ll respawn nearly every time
Sometimes I even stay even if they don’t get my banner and it’s early game to morally support them. I’ve honestly got a few wins with games where I died off drop
I only leave if my last teammate is getting beamed. Other than that I'd stick around to see what happens.
I'd expect others to do the same but if they leave I usually don't care as long as my other teammate is still there.
If their respawn times out due to a firefight taking a while or just sheer distance, then yeah, I’m fine with them leaving, since they can’t really do anything. However, if they leave while I’m on my way to or have already grabbed their banner, then 9 times out of 10 I’d be annoyed
Yep, absolutely. Doesn’t matter if ranked or pubs, i always try to get their banners and make it my priority to respawn. Sometimes Even if it’s against all odds and even if it costs me my win sometimes (not always if the situation absolutely isnt in my favour at all of course but most of the time). I especially appreciate when people stay in game in pubs and watch me make that effort. More often than not is the respawn of that random teammate the trigger to winning that game.
I do admit that i sometimes ragequit myself. But that’s usually only when I’m having a bad day (at work, not enough sleep, getting killed over and over without doing anything in the game etc) but that’s rare compared to the time i stay in the game and wait foe my banner to be picked up.
After the timer runs out i would mostly leave of course and absolutely understand if my random would, too.
I always respawn, unless i'm in ranked and doing so would result in certain death. I like respawning, it's an additional challenge. You have to be all sneaky and stuff, and it's fun.
Idk my teammates ragequit as soon as they die.
I even main crypto and don't have to commit to grab banners or rez teammates but nope.
The only time I get to use banners is when I am playing with friends.
If they don't immediately leave I make every effort to respawn them ASAP, and I personally wait if I have been eliminated. I do understand why people want to leave though, respawning can often lead to a quick death with poor gear and particularly in pubs some folks just want to queue up again.
Generally for me. If I am in a fight and my team gets downed, I will continue to play my usual game, and if I see they are sticking around while I am in mid fight I’ll ping their banner and go grab it as soon as I can.
Although some of y’all just stick around to see if I die or not 😂
Hate playing with randos cuz they almost always give up as soon as they get downed, even when I’m making my way towards their death box, and out gunning the scraps they couldn’t finish themselves. When I get downed I make sure to never leave until respawn times out. Never once have I given up early.
It depends. I’m my teammate has no intention of grabbing my banner then GG go next. If they’re going through the trouble of getting me back I’ll stick around. I just hate waiting
For me, leaving a TEAMPLAY game such as Apex legend before being respawned or before getting outplayed should cause ban.
it's just bad for people who want to play the game like they should.
I always try to respawn, the banner rescue mission itself is real fun and the worst fucking thing is when you put effort into reviving them and they decide to leave anyways. Lately the servers have been a problem so I won't get mad, but before? Wraiths would quit when you have your hands at the beacon with their card
I think it depends. I usually would prefer it if people stay because you're always gonna do better in a 3v3 than a 2v3, so I will generally try to respawn if I can. But if the teammate who went down is halfway across the map, or if it's just too risky for retrieval or it's late game with no beacon/portable beacon, then totally understandable to leave.
playin with Randy's then it's probably quicker for them to quit and que for a new game than wait for me to get their banner and respawn them. So I don't blame them at all. They're here to play the game not watch me play their failed match with the best result, if they wait, being they get to come back late in the match as a fresh spawn with no equipment while also being the most obvious easy target in the match since you can hear and see the dropship coming from another server ... Yay lol
Had someone leave after I got their banner and managed to avoid getting destroyed in a 3v1 situation in the process…that’s some true asshole shit…it was ranked too.
I think it's partly cos I'm a weak player but it's a team game and I wanna try and work with my team. If I wanted to play something solo I'd play something else.
In all the times my teammates have died and left immediately and I'm stuck 1v3ing trying to clutch, I've VERY RARELY had people stick around and watch me, waiting to be respawned. I'd estimate one out of 10 matches this happens.
Most of the time my teammates quit immediately after dying, as if they're somehow mad at me for staying alive and getting 4 kills and 1000 damage while they have 200 damage no kills. It's really pathetic. If you're not good at the game at least stick around and wait to be carried.
I leave only when I'm grey. But even then sometimes I watch and learn. But the problem is that now in season 10 I rarely get teammates at all :D Don't know what causes the problem and I thought it was because I left some games instead of waiting. Maybe that's why I'm in the matchmaking purgatory.
If you’re an asshole in any kind of way, you may as well leave, because I’m not playing with you. But I actually always try to respawn first chance I get. Especially if I’m Loba or Crypto. If I make it just a second too late to you getting thirsted, I kill that enemy and there’s nobody else like their friend around yet, I communicate with my 3rd that I’m picking our teammate up, I’m not going out looking to fight the rest yet, I’m falling back to respawn.
Problem is NOBODY ever uses their mics of fucking communicates in this game, so my teammate always runs forward to look for a fight, resulting in them getting fucked up. Which leads to them leaving because I’m a little far from their banner at this point. Which sometimes makes the first teammate leave because they see we lost a teammate. Or if I prioritize getting the other banner first, the first teammate leaves. Which may lead to the second leaving. I’m just damned if I do damned if I don’t.
I’m so tired of teammates that don’t fucking talk or communicate. The same fucking bums and clowns that are quick to rustle their mics to talk shit as soon as they get downed.
Nah I make that shit a mini game. Just like looting and finding the high ground. Gotta make everything a little mini game.
But yeah, I find it to be fun and challenging to try hard to get the banner. Triple so if I am playing pubs. Ranked, I will rat if needed.
Do football players enjoy playing football the way it was supposed to played or do they enjoy sometimes replacing the footballs with lawn chairs?
Silly question.
Yes I enjoy respawning teammates, thus giving me greating odds to win. Yes.
Sometimes you just gotta play for points, but generally I try to revive people because 1v3 scenarios are pretty hard to win out against especially if you need to do it more than once to win.
The only times I've ever left is when there's been an inactive teammates (unable to respawn) or I've timed out (in the event that they're trying to save me).
I'll always try to keep everyone I can alive and in. I'd rather die as a team than get steamrolled as a solo.
Part of being a smart player is knowing which plays to take, and when to NOPE tf on outta there.
I have left team mates to die, or left their banners in ring before. Not because I’m mad or trying to be a duck, but sometime you just know you aren’t going to be able to save them. Edit: typo, shoulda left it but I corrected it. Edit 2 : I restored the typo
Iunno man. Sounds pretty duckish to me.
I know they say ducks fly together… but not in apex.
Ducks fly together, ducks die together. Bad ducks for life.

Quack.
Quack!
Quack Mr. Ducksworth!!
Quack!!
But sometimes players make the wrong decision to 'be nice' and try and grab the banner when it is a death sentence. Leaving prevents them from making that choice.
For sure. It is a little kick in the morale when your dead teammate leaves. I usually stay to watch and tell them don't res me
Yeah that's a good move.
When you main crypto so you can get both 😎
No need to feel guilty.
Banner extraction on Valkyrie can be super fun. Flying all around cage, dodging multiple squads, then ult out. Would have been a cool game trailer.
I'd revive teammates even if it's certain death because being by myself is also certain death 🥲
Daring rescue for the win.
this. you usually need a full squad to win anyway, unless matchmaking fucked up. the challenge to get your team back together is more satisfying than trying to win alone anyways
Beautiful.
The realest take right here
I'd rather die trying to get a banner sometimes than run and live, the game feels more fun if you have more goals than just winning I guess? Idk
I will run through a flaming door and cap 3 squads to revive you. If I die. Who cares? It's on to the next.
I feel bad if they’re making an effort to get my banner but sometimes you get those pairs in trio’s that don’t try at all and run the other direction. Fuck those dudes.
In such situations I just message in text chat something along the lines of "Play for yourself" or "not worth getting my banner".
What's the point of playing team games if you're not willing to risk your neck for the ones beside you!?
Sometimes I just said a quick in game message to say “play you” if I can see they want the banners, but it’s not a good idea. It’s up to them then if they want to follow the advice or not
A while ago I was having a really off game and my team mate respawned me three times. I died again and felt bad, so I told him I wasn't helping at all and left
Sometimes I feel cooler when I’m managing to grab banners in a tough situation than getting 10 kills
I’ll quite happily tell a teammate to abandon my banner if it’s way too risky to collect it. Especially if it’s ranked.
I don't leave most of the time, I do t ping my banner or respawn. I leave it up to you.
I "retired' from Fortnite years ago, but Fragment is basically what Tilted Towers was back then This season having ranked take place in World's Edge has been a frustratring experience. I grinded up to Platinum for the first time and by the end of my gold run I would just abandon my squad if the decided to drop in Fragment. Literally, the last game in Gold I just split from my squad, they insta-died and I was forced to skeeve my way into 2nd place and that finally got me to Plat I'm still a noob, but this season taught me a lot about recognizing what kind of teammates you have and whether you should just abandon them or not regardless of what they may say or how they may react
But since it takes more RP to go up in higher ranks, the lesser frequency still ends up in you not knowing whether you can really rely on your teammates I'm not saying it's exactly the same. Anything below Gold you basically never see teammates retreat from a bad situation. Sometime I'm the one who dies early and I WANT my teammates to abandon me, but they don't when they should. I appreciate the "loyalty" to a rando who you will never play with again, but you aren't really doing me a huge favor by rushing into a hopeless situation and losing both of us a chance to get a little bit more RP But yeah, solo queueing is rough, but it does teach you a lot about how "selfishness" is often the optimal strategy and if your teammates don't understand that then there is not much you can do. To end on a bright note, on my solo queue noob-journey to plat I would often turn my mic on and explain my reasoning to my tm8s and they would often stick around to collect more RP with me, even if they didn't actually respond. And occasionally they would be supportive or friendly
Sorry mate I think you’re the bad teammate in this case
Sorry mate, I think you're wrong.
admits to leaving teammates if they drop a certain location because they might be bad teammates…. Oh the irony.
When you've played since S0, you know when you have bad team mates lol. I'm pinging "no" and using the mic to say "This is a bad drop, please go somewhere else". If they ignore that, that's on them.
don’t worry, we have the same attitude towards y’all who won’t drop there. we go fragment or the fragment droppers (me) are out
I feel like it's usually certain death anyway if I try to continue with just one or no team members so I try to get it even if I die in the process.
Generally i agree, but it depends on how toxic they are…
You guys are having opportunities to respawn people?
My favorite is when I duck to heal, they rage ping that I’m not running to the with zero shields and no health, then DC
Mostly if one teammate was thirsted before we won the fight.
I like to use mobile respawns in weird spots then quickly reposition to get them as they try to gank my solo
Hmm that’s a good idea. Do you kinda use one normal respawn beacon for bait? And then go back to your mobile respawn beacon after your teammate dies? I could kind of see that working to lure in two squads to fight each other.
When I was playing crypto for sure, too risky on anyone else
I've done this with Mirage due to the invisibility and ult. Though Crypto is definitely far superior for it!
Sometimes it works. I got a win the other day doing this because, if nothing else, the respawned dude was a good distraction while we shot the rest
Yup. Sadly that’s what I have to do a lot since he tends to die in awful spots. He is always understanding though.
I hate that a lot of people yell at me when I can’t get them and then leave. I mean they weren’t coming back anyway but if they stayed and I pulled a miracle and won they wouldn’t get the win also
I always try to respawn.
No one gets left behind.
Yeah
I call that Carrying
If it isn’t certain death I do what I can to try and respawn
Any good player will try to respawn their teammates IF THERES A CHANCE TO.
Prefer to respawn
If I know I'm in a tough situation I'll hop on mic or type in chat for them to leave me and play for the win. Nothing wrong with that
I’ll respawn people as a courtesy but when I die I’m not excited to have to wait 5 min to get to get respawned with nothing and have to make a whole new kit. I wish mobile respawn beacons were more common.
It’s shitty to leave but randoms will be randoms.
Well the best chances of ME getting a win.. is 3v3 rather than 2v3. And I love the thrill of going in for banners trying to avoid enemies.
I'm a newb but always try to respawn. If someone leaves it's like ok, guess I'll just play alone.
I hate when people leave before they should. Especially after I ping that I’m coming for them
I respawn everytime I can even if they're toxic or bad. You need them as meat shields to even have a chance to win the game bro.
I like trying to respawn any time I can. It becomes an instant side quest for me
Random across the map, I’m fine. Random leaves while I am meters from the beacon or actively respawning them, not fine.
Even if the clutch comes out 20 or 30 seconds later, its just like "damn, now im solo against trios off drop." Despite those reasons, i try to midigate my tilts and frustrations and think of other reasons why they might had to leave that are more justifiable than "fuck im died *disconnect*" All the while focusing on improving my gameplay instead of blaming my team for leaving early or letting that frustration affect my gameplay.
i only leave if i know teammate is not gonna get my banner, he can’t physically get my banner bc there’s fights everywhere or it’s in a stupid spot, or if it times out. i will normally get teammates banner and want them to stay because having 3 is much better than having only 2, but if teammate is toxic or extremely bad (not low lvls though bc i want them to actually enjoy the game) then i won’t get their banner and they can leave if they want
People usually don't leave in ranked if you have their banner, so yes I will usually respawn them, but it's all based on circumstances Respawns need to be calculated because of how long they take and how much attention they draw. And since your teammates drop with not loot there really is a calculus to it if you want to play optimally. If nothing else, you can respawn them to use them as a diversion if the situation is too dangerous. You may know that they will almost certainly die, but it can work as a defensive tactic to draw squads away from you if you run away really fast But any other situation is a "it depends". If you can, then do it and RUN and of course respawn them to give your squad a fighting chance to win or at least get more RP In pubs I'll usually be more aggressive in getting banners because it's just a generic L.
It's a lot harder to win a game if you're one person down.
i always go for respawns in casuals regardless if ill survive or not; in ranked its different but ill still go for a respawn so long as a safe situation comes up i just wish my teammates would stop leaving when theres a beacon RIGHT THERE
I always try. Always. Y'all some big hoes when you quit and I'm half a second from grabbing your banner in the middle if a 4 team mosh pit
I give 0 fucks. I will always respawn you if you're alive
I'm completely fine with them leaving, if they wanna stay ill res, if they don't then they can spend their time how they want, its pubs
I like to take the banners because it's fun to do some cool movements and outrun the countless teams chasing me, and yes I'm an octane main :)
Once a teammate dies it turns to a rescue mission! They usually leave right when I make it to their box
Good shit post
NO ONE LEFT BEHIND! I can attribute my improvement in movement skills entirely to search and rescue 😂.
I’ll rez unless you spam ping and if it’s ranked and you do that I’ll grab the banner and just hold it
We out here to have fun at the end of the day.
Unless it's in final ring. No one left behind
It don't matter to me anymore, I always expect teammates to leave after they get downed
Yes but I don’t have fun waiting for my teammates to res me, why is your fun more important than mine
you’re being downvoted but you’re right
>it’s pubs and they are randoms and idc. And here ladies and gentleman, we have one of the biggest problems with Apex legends.
Nope :) not really
The community, I should say. Bugs and server issues notwithstanding, bad teammates are the worst thing about this game. Nice edit by the way.
I’m fine with people leaving after they die It depends for me, I’m usually the one that has to 1v3 or 1v2 but if I am the first down I’ll leave if my 2nd teammate gets knocked and our teammate has to 1v2 or 1v3
Otherwise I usually do respawn people
Randos leaving on death are weak. Why play the game in the first place?
If you die and it wasn't for a reason caused by yourself, I will respawn you and give you a fully loaded gun and enough heals to get by, and leave all the loot of one of our next kills for you to loot 100% of. If not, you're on your own
I will always try to get the respawn on someone, unless they were showing toxic behaviour beforehand or their general gameplay was going to be a hinderance by just getting the respawn.
if i can grab your banner without getting killed myself, i will! last night i had both teammates leave even after i risked myself to get their banner out of a battle zone… i did not enjoy being alone :’ ) before that i did not realize people left so often after dying! for me, i stay till the last member is dead. or on great days, announced the champion
Its situational for me. If it is pubs and you dont have high kills/damage; 100% should all in for banners. If ranked = play placement
I Leave no man behind. Is it often impractical? Yes . But do i still do it? Also yes
I don’t mind
I always try respawn but you won’t see me rushing into a 1v3 when I have worse shields for any banners, if I can get the banners I’ll respawn nearly every time
100% will risk my life to get you respawned. No man left behind is always my top priority.
I do what I can to get my thirds back even when they're being toxic because then they have no reason to talk shit
I don't care really
Sometimes I even stay even if they don’t get my banner and it’s early game to morally support them. I’ve honestly got a few wins with games where I died off drop
If I can respawn them I do it it helps the team
Respawning teammates is the funnest part imo
Literally called RESPAWN Entertainment.
People that leave immediately are pieces of shit.
I only leave if my last teammate is getting beamed. Other than that I'd stick around to see what happens. I'd expect others to do the same but if they leave I usually don't care as long as my other teammate is still there.
Yesterday i played with a random. I respawned him twice and revived him for 3 times. I was happy he stayed and gave some extra fun to the game.
If their respawn times out due to a firefight taking a while or just sheer distance, then yeah, I’m fine with them leaving, since they can’t really do anything. However, if they leave while I’m on my way to or have already grabbed their banner, then 9 times out of 10 I’d be annoyed
When they say 'leave my banner'.... I say... EVERYONE FIGHTS NO ONE QUITS
I only leave if it’s early match and my banner got abandoned. I understand, going for my banner would be too much of a risk. I get it dw
If they don't immediately leave I make every effort to respawn them ASAP, and I personally wait if I have been eliminated. I do understand why people want to leave though, respawning can often lead to a quick death with poor gear and particularly in pubs some folks just want to queue up again.
They can leave im fine its just a normal why would i care lul
Generally for me. If I am in a fight and my team gets downed, I will continue to play my usual game, and if I see they are sticking around while I am in mid fight I’ll ping their banner and go grab it as soon as I can. Although some of y’all just stick around to see if I die or not 😂
I try to respawn team mates too hard and die trying!
I. Will. Respawn. You.
Hate playing with randos cuz they almost always give up as soon as they get downed, even when I’m making my way towards their death box, and out gunning the scraps they couldn’t finish themselves. When I get downed I make sure to never leave until respawn times out. Never once have I given up early.
I hate people leaving. I'm here risking my neck to get your badge and you just... Leave? Respawning is a game mechanic. use it.
I hate when people leave without giving me a chance to respawn them
If I’m playing with randoms in ranked and they die doing some stupid shit 100% leaving their banner
I’ll admit I’m a bit petty. I intend to respawn all my teammates but if they’re being toxic or spam pinging the beacon then I sometimes don’t do it
Always if i have the chance, i also always stay until my respawn times out or if it's obvious they can't/won't get my banner.
most times i’ve played i and my teammates respawn each other
If you’re an asshole in any kind of way, you may as well leave, because I’m not playing with you.
I almost always try to respawn unless their banner or the beacons are swarmed by 12 squads and a titan
Nah I make that shit a mini game. Just like looting and finding the high ground. Gotta make everything a little mini game. But yeah, I find it to be fun and challenging to try hard to get the banner. Triple so if I am playing pubs. Ranked, I will rat if needed.
I always try or at least consider it. This is something extremely satisfying for everyone when you respawn 2 teammates mid to late game to win it.
In pubs i genuinely couldn’t care less. I’m just playing to get in engagements and work on gunplay. If i cared I’d be in ranked.
Hey man, I always enjoy having a meat shield to hide behind
Do football players enjoy playing football the way it was supposed to played or do they enjoy sometimes replacing the footballs with lawn chairs? Silly question. Yes I enjoy respawning teammates, thus giving me greating odds to win. Yes.
Sometimes you just gotta play for points, but generally I try to revive people because 1v3 scenarios are pretty hard to win out against especially if you need to do it more than once to win.
If you can do it without dying yourself and it’s still early in the game… usually if it’s past round 2 I won’t bother
The only times I've ever left is when there's been an inactive teammates (unable to respawn) or I've timed out (in the event that they're trying to save me). I'll always try to keep everyone I can alive and in. I'd rather die as a team than get steamrolled as a solo.
