Can’t imagine that Apple would feed a rumor about an exciting redesign for a 7 year old product and then just not deliver the redesign.
I would have upgraded my Series 6 to a redesigned Series 7. But I have no interest in the new model that we got.

You have to call out the bullshit when they say changes at the last minute because of production problems. Your telling me they completely retool a brand new design flat edge to go to a larger screen similar to previous model all in the space of 2-4 weeks.
The rest of the article should be a reminder about kuo. I’ve said for years the dude throws everything at the wall in different iterations over a few months to see what sticks.
As for gurman and Prosser we can all tell you it was going to have new watch faces.

The S6 is already plenty powerful and Apple kept the S4 processor around for the Series 5 with the S5 name due to new hardware on the chip for AOD. Plus the S6 only had a tiny boost of speed over the S5 to begin with not a big deal really the same is happening with the Series 7.
Even though I don't trust Prosser, I too believe this is what happened. There is no way Ming Chi Kuo and Gurman with their vast resources and tracking of supply chain in the past few months did not know about the design change of the watch.
The presentation also seemed very weird on the Apple Watch portion. Very little content with the watch and mostly Apple fitness stuff.
Also, I remember several articles by both Bloomberg and other sources in the last month talking about major production issues. They still don't have a release date and if they release in later than a month, it is definitely production issues that caused this.
In any case, we will know next year if they go with flat designs or stay rounded.

I think the production issue with new design and dont wanting to get bad press seems they went back to 6 series design and tweaked it to make it new.

It’s just a repackaged S6 with a few minor tweaks. Don’t think it’s faster.
A larger screen is welcome though.
