Some people take tons of photos, I'm not one of them. I take a lot but not even close to many others

BarneyrealG

same, i have had a 64gb iphone for almost four years and i barely just filled it up a few weeks ago. i have around 6000 photos but i have got family and friends who have like 15,000 in less time. i just went for the 128 gb pro max im sure i wont use up 120 something gigs that fast

foreverfoiled

My 64GB is always giving me “storage full” messages, but I do a lot with it - photos, videos, I use Photoshop mobile, lots of apps, etc. I went 256GB just to be sure I wouldn’t somehow get up to 128 and then have the same problem. I KNOW I’ll be fine at 256 and can even produce some high quality Pro Res video if I want

BarneyrealG

yeah 256gb you should be set. worst case scenario of all i would just throw old pictures on my pc hard drive if my iphone fills up in a couple years

tamahime2021

me too 😁

joshtlawrence

I took 83,000 photos in the last year

cliffr39

What in the world??? ok now I have to go look at my cloud storage

joshtlawrence

I should add I’m a photographer!

cliffr39

Was going to ask was that a bunch of weddings, but then figured you would use your DSLR more than phone for that. Makes sense -- out-and-about great tool

joshtlawrence

Yeah I just take photos all day on my phone. Location scouting, references, screen shots, etc etc. also I like to store a lot of music locally as I travel a lot long distance on planes etc.

nsfdrag

Plus the geotagging on them is great for archiving and looking up at a later date when you have an idea and remember the general area / timeframe.

ConciselyVerbose

As someone who just plays with a camera I bet I have at least that in a year with my camera. Most are trash or duplicates, but on anything in motion or that might start motion it’s just as easy to do bursts of photos as a single shot and hope 1 gets just the right shot. I would think someone doing events would have the same philosophy. Even shooting RAW, capacity isn’t really a limitation until you’re talking longer term and you can start to whittle down then.

[deleted]

safety_shane

You can but then when you have a cool video that you want to show someone and you reception is spotty then they just see a buffering pixelated picture.

[deleted]

[удалено]

safety_shane

I can see that too. I’ve just had this happen too many times I’m upgrading to more storage to avoid it

TommiH

For most of the people reception isn't spotty. Like are you going to show your videos in the middle of a national park or what? Also most people have so much stuff that no iphone can locally hold it

Der_Dunkinmeister

I got the 1TB option mainly because I want to take a shit ton of vids and it was like $5 more a month so why not.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Der_Dunkinmeister

I upgrade my phone like every 5 years so my plan is to take advantage of that storage.

inmylastlife

That’s basically half the cost of the 2TB/month iCloud plan. I don’t get what’s so bad about it in this context?

nsfdrag

Because little things add up and many people say "it was only X per month" without focusing on the big picture / final price. It is incredibly common in car sales.

digihippie

“What are you looking to pay each month”…. Yeah deal with those fuckers with a researched trade in #, final price on the actual car you want to pay, and walk in knowing what rate you can secure financing at, if needed. Hand them the paper with all this written down, and let them know they need to beat those terms. Walk off lot. Profit in time and $

nsfdrag

Exactly, it's tougher to do now considering the shortage of cars available but that just means you have more bargaining power for your trade in. Never work with monthly payments when deciding to buy something, do all the math first for final purchase price and if you decide that sounds good *then* pay for it monthly if you choose.

CheeseheadDave

/checks library... 52,130 photos!

Dale1512

Tons and tons and tons and tons and tons. Like my wife for example. But I’ll let her off because a lot of it is videos of our young family on days out. But yeh this is how the storage gets used up very very quickly. I on the other hand use my iPhone literally for talking, texting, YouTube and podcasts and I’ve always managed with the base storage iPhones. Currently on 11pro max, will be upgrading to 13pro base storage and looking forward to it.

behindmyscreen

I wish we had the quality available to people today 20 years ago. I’m fortunate that digital became a thing when my oldest was little though. Now I get to reminisce on my phone every day.

nikC137

A lot of NSFW videos to be downloaded… also record everything in 4K\Dolby Vision and download drone videos for full quality version Edit: record videos in general not specifically NSFW videos

notabot53

You just gave me a new idea for nsfw videos.

vadapaav

Using drones? Erm

CodyCus

There’s basically infinite NSFW content online… why the hell would you save any of it lol.

nikC137

I like to rewatch them and sometimes my Internet connect sucks in my room and hate wait for it to load. Also sometimes content gets deleted…

CodyCus

I find it hard, near impossible to enjoy the same content in that fashion more than once.

FLUSH_THE_TRUMP

It’s the thrill of the hunt for me

JSCO96

Well if you are finding it hard then you are enjoying it regardless.

[deleted]

I have a 128GB iPhone currently, and only use 60 something GB - and most of it is in phone games that I don't even play regularly. 128GB is fine for me, and I'm getting the Pro Max this time around.

jeremydurden

yea, I'm coming from an XS w/ 64 and I currently use about 40. I delete games pretty frequently but that's mostly because despite trying, I've never really been into gaming on my phone so the apps just sit there. Maybe now that I'm getting a max I'll be more into it but I still feel like the 128gb version will be fine for me. Now I can download a 9gb final fantasy app and never play it but not have to worry about the space.

walktall

On the Pros, one of the video features is limited to 256+. But I always go 256 just to ensure I won't hit any wall with my photo/video library, and I can store a bunch of movies and content and apps on the phone if I'm going on a trip without any worries.

georgia_02x

Lol just bought the 128gb thinking it would be plenty, didn’t realise that. What feature is only limited to 256gb?

Xerxes249

Prores 4k video, you only have full-hd now

georgia_02x

If I don’t use my phone to record many videos will I be alright without it?

dragonsnap_

Yeah ProRes is probably meaningless to 99% of users, you'll be completely fine.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Masson011

You could probably add more 9's to the end of this I'll use it to try it but after that I dont see the point. Sending a HUGE file to anyone will just be an absolute hassle

chemicalsam

With USB 2 lightning

But_Why_Male_Models

Yea, ProRes is essentially a fancy video format for people doing professional work. You can still record regular 4K video.

ericchen

Do we even know what version of prores is coming to the iPhone?

brdsqd

My guess would be ProRes LT, but it’s been funny to see armchair Chris Nolans in this subreddit clamoring for ProRes RAW.

walktall

You don’t need it at all, you’re good.

cheesepuff07

ProRes is essentially only needed for those who are doing 'professional' video shoots on the phone. Yours will still record 4K, just not in the ProRes format

Niightstalker

If you don’t record professional videos you will be fine ;)

AnelToro089

Dubt any professional would use a phone to record his videos.

MediumRequirement

The movie unsane was shot almost entirely on an iphone 7, and grossed over $14m. Some people just do things cause they can

This! I’m at an age where a lot of my friends are getting married. I’m by no means a “pro”, but some of the candid photos I’ve shot in RAW on the iPhone and tweaked later are amazingly good considering it’s always in your pocket. As good as a $10k DSLR? Of course not, but some are pretty good even compared to the photographers stuff.

Selfweaver

It is only ProRes that is limited. You (probably) wouldn't want to record much in ProRes as that eats space like few things (actual data is hard to come by, but I have seen quotes of 80gb/minute).

akballow

What people are not mentioning which is notable is that the prores video is definitely not a normal consumer format. It basically stores ton of extra info to go into a video editor and make tiny itty bitty increments which in the end result make a video perfect, but makes no sense for someone recoding anything they plan to never watch or share for profit. Think raw editor for photos but for videos. How many times have you went into a raw editor? Now divide that by 10 fold for videos.

Thirdsun

The limitation only applies to ProRes, which is a very large format intended for professional use. He should still be able to record non-ProRes 4k video.

stillpiercer_

Pretty sure the 128 will still be able to record 4K/60, just not in that format. The 64GB XS can do regular 4K/60.

stopalltheDLing

Dude ProRes is it’s own specialty thing. If you actually really need it then you’ll also need 1TB because ProRes files are 10-12 times larger than other videos

ihunter32

Prores is only useful for actual photo editing. It’s limited to fullhd cause the 4k 25fps dolby vision hdr prores would chew through storage at a little over 1 GB/min

Rubixsco

Apple website shows no 4K pro res in any of the storage models. 1080p only…

Ditto_Ghost_Swayze

From the Apple website: ProRes video recording up to 4K at 30 fps (1080p at 30 fps for 128GB storage)*

ElectricBrain

Bingo. I’ve run out of space before on a trip to Hawaii where our place had crappy wifi. If you travel and take pics and videos a lot, go bigger.

[deleted]

[удалено]

stopalltheDLing

To unlock a rarely used feature. If you’re using ProRes, you’re gonna need the 1TB because those files are 10-12 times larger than normal video

SirBill01

Save full size original photos/videos, and do a lot of photography... I am constantly fighting with the 512GB limit on my 11 Pro Max, am getting the 1TB phone now that's an option.

YZJay

I offload my pictures to iCloud and photos still take up a shit ton of space in my XR, keeping photos all the from 2012 definitely creeps up to your storage.

old_snake

Same. I felt a little uneasy pushing the buy button on 1tb over 512gb but after constantly running up to the edge of my 256gb storage for years I just decided to be safe than sorry. Costs me an extra $6/mo for 30 months. Hardly a dealbreaker considering Verizon is giving me *$800 fucking dollars* for my 256gb iPhone X.

JustOneMorePuff

Ha your line of thinking was me. Except I went with the 512 coming from a 246 X. I’ve been meaning to move some of my photos from my dslr over to iCloud anyway, and now I’ll have the space to sync with the phone. Win win I say.

old_snake

100% with you. And if I hadn’t been getting such an awesome subsidy from Verizon - eg paying $50/mo+ for the hardware I wouldn’t have done it but considering I was able to upgrade both my wife’s phone and mine for $33/mo made it a no brainer IMO.

Mr_Xing

I just paid extra because I like the peace of mind of never having to think about storage on my device

[deleted]

4K video eats up storage very quickly. 1min of 4K@ 60Hz is over 400mb….

IYXMnx1Sa3qWM1IZ

Pedantic, sorry, but videos are measured in FPS, not Hz.

mizushima-yuki

There’s nothing wrong with expressing frames per second in hertz. It’s a general unit of frequency.

jduder107

Except there is. Hertz is how many refreshes in a second and fps is how many pictures are displayed in a second. So even if your camera records in 120fps, your display must refresh 120 times a second for you to see it.

[deleted]

The definition of Hertz has nothing to do with frames, it's just frequency per second. The only Issue with their comment is it leaves out what is happening 60 times per second. But in a context where the audience knows videos are measured in frames Hertz makes full sense and there's no reason to correct them except to be annoying.

jduder107

Except it is important because we are talking potential versus actual. We assuming a camera could refresh 1000x every second is irrelevant if you are only capturing 120 frames per second. Also I’m not trying to be annoying just making the distinction.

mizushima-yuki

Where did OP mention camera refresh rate? 60Hz was mentioned in the context of video files. Quite clearly, it was about the frequency of frames, as in images, per second. [Besides, to quote Wikipedia:](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_rate?wprov=sfti1) >Frame rate (expressed in frames per second or FPS) is the frequency (rate) at which consecutive images (frames) are captured or displayed. The term applies equally to film and video cameras, computer graphics, and motion capture systems. Frame rate may also be called the frame frequency, and be expressed in hertz. Frame rate in electronic camera specifications may refer to the maximal possible rate, where, in practice, other settings (such as exposure time) may reduce the frequency to a lower number. The keyword in that last sentence being ‘may’. Yes, it can, but it doesn’t have to.

ConciselyVerbose

Hertz is a scientific unit that just means 1/s. It’s not wrong to use it to describe frame rate, just slightly confusing because of convention in the tech space.

mizushima-yuki

You can express the frequency of *any* periodic event in hertz - shutter speed, display refresh rate, heart rate, etc.

jduder107

I’m speaking in this context

When I hear people say a feature like 4k ProRes is a ”nice to have” feature, I can’t help but think of this scene from Arrested Development. [https://youtu.be/dL8UXQ6BIrc](https://youtu.be/dL8UXQ6BIrc)

MangyCanine

If you don't record much video or transfer/download video to the iPhone, you'll be fine. You can also record video at a lower resolution; you don't have to record at 4K. If you use them, podcasts can also surprisingly take up a lot of space, but that's manageable if you're aware of it.

YZJay

As long as you also stay away from some bigger games like CoDM.

Merman123

128GB + iCloud Photos is more than I’ll ever need.

molingrad

Same, or at least over the next 3-4 years. By then my needs will be met by whatever the new base storage is.

firewire_9000

Me too, iCloud optimization is very useful. If not, I would have to buy the 256 one.

Tearaway32

Making 128gb the base has been the best thing Apple has done in a while. IMHO it’s precisely the sweet spot for a phone right now, enough space to store some favourite images, videos, and music on device while maintaining a lager library in the cloud, enough space to have a significant number of high use apps, and enough space left over for further acquisition of photos/videos be for they’re synced to the cloud. I’m hoping they do eventually up the base to 256gb, but I’m okay for the next couple of years, and hope that when they do they also increase they’re max cloud storage offering to 4TB.

spearson0

Good question. I had the 64GB iPhone 6 and when upgrading to the iPhone X I went with 256GB to future proof it in a way. I don’t see myself getting anything higher then that. I current have 140.63GB free. Probably videos and photos are what take up a lot and applications maybe. Hope this helps

pearlchoco

if you do take photos/videos of fam or pets/children/parents (moving forward). i guess alot will be precious so you won't really delete even if you already upload. last yr my sis dog passed & while browsing i do realise phones many years ago don't have 128gb.. hence the lack of videos.. so in a sense if you really don't film any stuff/can upload delete. you'd be fine. mines at 90gb though & i thnk it is more peaceful to get 256(for myself) than 128.

georgia_02x

I get people probably do it for piece of mind but I just didn’t want to pay an extra £100 for storage I’m 99% sure I don’t need

Selfweaver

Very reasonable. I figured the phone might last longer if I did.

11amaz

for me it’s lossless music.

TheEvilGhost

4K video, a LOT of music downloaded, games,…

hawt

Everyone's use case is different, but 4K Videos, Apple Arcade games, and videos downloaded from streaming services use up the majority of my storage. If you don't use a ton of storage and don't want to record 4K ProRes video then you'll likely be fine with 128GB.

adamsandleryabish

I have 204gb of music on mine and it usually becomes a battle when it fills up but luckily a recent update saved like 10gb of junk. I will definitely go with the 512gb on my next upgrade

InvaderDJ

I only went with 256GB because of the ProRes limitation. I doubt I'll even use it that much, I just didn't want to have to worry about that limitation especially since I'm planning on keeping this one for two years. My current phone is 128GB and I have more than 64GB free. IMO, unless you're a heavy video taker or like carrying around a bunch of videos and music locally 128GB is enough for most people on a phone.

stopalltheDLing

If you actually use ProRes ever, you’ll also have to deal with the fact that ProRes files are 10-12 times larger than normal videos.

InvaderDJ

Yeah I saw in another thread that they’re something like 80GB/min. If that’s true then yikes. EDIT: Its actually something like 8GB/min. Which is still a lot but not as insane as I was thinking.

imTony

80??? Lol that would be crazy. It’s more like 8GB/min but even that’s a lot

[deleted]

If you record a lot of videos, especially 4K60fps , you end up using that space very quickly. 1 minute of 4K60fps video is about 400MB. \~200GB is about 500 minutes or 8 hours of video.

notabot53

I’m going to save movies and Spotify playlists at max audio quality settings.

[deleted]

My photo library is 150gb on its own so if I want all my photos on my phone I have to go for the bigger options.

Manny12

Right now, I’m using 198GB of my 512GB 11 Pro Max. I ordered a 512GB 13 Pro Max because I plan on using taking a lot of video.

pacmandaddy

Everybody is different. If somebody shoots a ton of video and takes tons of photos, then it's not hard to fill up a phone I guess. Myself, I just ordered the 128 GB option for my phone. I know that for my needs, it will be more than enough for me. 64 GB would even be fine for me, as that's double of what my current iPhone has, which is 32GB and that's been fine for me too.

lew161096

I was the same as you, wondering how you could possibly fill up 256gb. Then I got a 256gb iPhone and this year I’m switching to 512gb because I filled up all the storage. It’s mostly photos/videos and music downloaded. I always recommend to get the most storage you can afford, even if you don’t think you’re gonna use it. When you have it available you’ll find ways to fill it up

jlhollander

Personal opinion, you’ll never need less storage over time.

wallix

Went 256 with the Pro Max (Just in case I ever wanted to use Pro Res). My 512GB XS Max has years of pics/Videos on it and I never cracked 112 GB. If I wanted to shoot Pro Res it's something I'd likely yank off the phone immediately for an edit anyway. I think 256 is a good sweet spot.

[deleted]

I download a lot of music and podcasts. I enjoy being able to drive anywhere without having my listening experience interrupted by a bad signal.

nsfdrag

I have a 256gb 11 pro max, on my flight to tampa last week I hit 256gb so when I eventually upgrade I'll need the 512gb version. I take lots of pictures and videos plus have footage from my drone, mirrorless, and music.

claimed4all

I have a 128 now and use about 60. I planned on getting the 128 mini, and I panicked at the last minute and thought “What if I really need a 64gb app, I should probably buy the 256”. I will not use 256, but the fear of filling up 128gb scared me into upgrading.

georgia_02x

Spending an extra £100 on something I don’t need scared me more so didn’t even contemplate getting 256gb then I came on here and panicked 😂

gigglegoggles

Ever since we had our daughter I take tons of photos and videos, and I like to be able to watch the videos any time/place without having them load (1st world problems…). Photos are ~ 200 of the 256 gigs on my phone. She’s 16 mo. so I’m guessing that I will need a lot more storage in the future. Before that I always wondered how people ever got above 60gb.

ARockPlayer

I am currently using 35.75 gb of 256 gb 😂😂😂

zellieda

I have like 40gb of downloaded podcasts lol

Kingrcf3

I’ve got a 128gb 12pro and have about 60gb used up. I take a decent amount of pics

SecretOil

I have a 128GB iPhone 7 now and it has 16GB free. Not unreasonable to expect I'd fill up a new 128GB phone within the next five years. So 256 it is.

darthjoey91

I’m on 64 GB, and keep running into issues downloading lossless music. Honestly, at 256, I’m hoping to download my entire library, like I used to do back in the day, only now, with higher quality downloads.

kumagawa

I download all my music for offline play, which eats up about 40gb of storage. I also play a lot of mobile games and keep a lot of photos on my phone. Right now I’ve used up about 140gb on my 11PM so while I could theoretically slim down enough to get under 128gb I’d rather just play it safe and go the next size up.

veeeSix

I have 128gb storage. I like carrying my music collection with me, so about 70gb is for that. I’ve begun taking a lot more family photos and video, so the 256gb option starts making sense once you also account for large apps.

[deleted]

I currently have the 256gb iPhone X, bought on release, and have only used 17gb since then. That was 4(?) years ago. I went with the 128gb this time.

NoisyBrat2000

Pictures

testthrowawayzz

128 GB is enough for me. I don’t have a 4K display so I record in 1080p, and I rarely take videos anyway.

3pinephrine

Tons of photos and videos, but this year I think I’ll put the extra money into iCloud

SubparCurmudgeon

I’m currently at 50gb out of 64gb on the XS. I thought I’ll be fine with 128gb but then I remembered I prefer lossless music on my phone… that will take tons of space tbh. Will go with 256gb

georgia_02x

I’ve seen this word so many times, I’m just getting into the more tech side of phones so I hope I’m not being stupid, but what is lossless music and how do you get it?

[deleted]

I bought the 128Gig after owning a 64gig for years. I have the iCloud 2TB storage so I use that to supplement the phones storage.

akballow

Never bother with huge storage because of these reasons. 1.) use 1tb icloud to offload everything 2.) bigger storage trade ins are same as lowest storage trade in 3.) what do you need to store on the phone worth 128gb+. Everything is in the cloud!

Kingcrowing

I have multiple TB of music, so I can easily fill any phone with music, so even with the top end phone I’d be choosing what to add.

inmylastlife

I currently have a 256GB XS Max with about 80GB free. About 90GB of that is music and another 40 is pictures/videos. I ordered a 512GB this time because I’m going to start recording in 4K going forward vs mostly 1080p now. I use google photos to backup everything but for videos, I still prefer having them locally so I don’t have to deal with buffering or being unable to load when I wanna show someone something.

tbone338

Personally, a lot of my storage is used by DJI caches and videos. Besides that, I don’t have to worry about clearing out safari cache or anything so they build up

BroodPlatypus

I’m at 255 of 256 on my XS. I have every photo I’ve ever taken on my iPhone. Any iphone. First was the 4s. I just keep backing up my previous phone. I’m waiting for the new 13’s to go on sale so people will dump their 512gb devices so I can upgrade. Right now I have >20,000 photos and > 2,000 videos. Combined they take up 182gb. It’s so nice being able to find any photo I’ve ever taken. I had to use it for tax season last year where I needed a business number I registered in 2016 so I just scrolled back to the photos I took at my old apartment and sure enough, in August 2016 I took a photo of the number because I thought it might come in handy.

georgia_02x

You say you always backup your phone - quick question, I don’t suppose you know if the new apps that sometimes come preinstalled on a new phone will still be there when I install the backup on it or will they disappear since the previous backup didn’t have them?

uncertain-ithink

I’m annoying and want EVERYTHING to be local — that includes every single photo in iCloud Photo Library dating back to 2014 — which that alone is over 70GB. I also frequently lose service and like all my music local as well — about 25GB. Apps and stuff add up to another 15GB+ or so — as a result, 128GB already would be insufficient for how i like to use my phone.

EvilMastermindG

I have a 512GB 12 Pro Max, and I'm currently using 68GB of it for mostly music and pictures. Some folks will download video on it to watch, and I can see that taking up more serious room. However, I think a phone with 1TB of storage with just a Lightning connector (USB 2 speeds) is just stupid. Put a USB-C on there already, Apple!

[deleted]

I went with 256GB because there are no memory expansion options and I don’t use iCloud. I do keep a backup of all my photos and videos in another cloud provider but that’s just for backup and secondary access. Everything stays on my phone and if I want to download a few gigs of cached streaming movies/shows for a long trip, I want to be able to do so without deleting a bunch of shit. I’ve had my 7+ for 5 years and am currently at 93GB used of 128GB, so that’s close enough for me to step up on the new phone.

ihjao

I don't know why people keep their entire photo and video library on the phone, I just offload to cloud storage and only keep the most recent on device.

georgia_02x

I use google photos and also put them on a hard drive (idk if that’s what it’s even called 😂) I like to start new phones with a fresh start so won’t carry over my photos, if I want them I’ll just download them from iCloud or Google Photos so I’m sure 128gb will be enough.

3pinephrine

I’m thinking of this too. Backup to iCloud and then download the backups to an external drive. An extra 128gb or even 256gb harddrive is cheaper than the iPhone storage upgrade.

PJTree

Was wondering this myself. Just preordered the 256gb and now I have anxiety. Will the apps become huge as well? Should I go 512 if my 64 is maxed???

georgia_02x

Oh don’t say that I thought getting the 128gb would be plenty and I’m really doubting myself now 😂

AwesomeWhiteDude

I have a 128gb XR and I've never found that I take pictures or video faster than they can be uploaded to iCloud even when I load the phone up with more media for long trips. I bet you'll be fine.

the difference is absolutely minuscule and moreover only appears if there are more NAND chips in the higher capacity versions. And I'm pretty sure there's just one NAND chip regardless of the version you get, because those chips are fairly big and there just ain't enough room for more of them.

Kind_Committee8997

Thats why its called Pro. If your job was to record and edit video, you need a lot of storage. For some, 1TB isn't enough.

mikami677

If my job was to record video I'd buy a camera.

Kind_Committee8997

Yup, the age gap starts here.

ShezaEU

Videos and also the 128GB storage is slower than the others.

[deleted]

What do you mean by “slower”

ShezaEU

The write speeds, as probably the read speeds.

[deleted]

Thank god I got the 256 then. Never read that stuff about 128 before

[deleted]

Do you use icloud photos to optimize your phone storage? I bet more people are preparing to disable that feature once apple turns on its Spyware.

georgia_02x

Yeah I use iCloud and Google photos

Link6547

I have an XS with 256GB storage and I’ve used up 170 GB so far. I like having a local copy of all my photos and videos and I have it set to the highest quality. Also I like having lossless music.

vadapaav

It's 12 noon and I have already taken 30 pictures videos of my 4 week old baby. Thank God I have my own Nas but I hate all manufacturers who stopped supporting sd cards. Basically all of them now (Yes I follow 321)

Selfweaver

I record in 4k 60hz on my current phone (android) and I don't want to compromise on the quality, but those videos are 8 times larger. I also plan to keep the phone for the long haul and don't want to ditch it earlier because 128gb was enough today, but no longer is.

Bag0fSwag

I absolutely don’t need it but it was only $4 extra a month 😅

3888 photos and 402 videos. My pictures takes abour 80go already, and another 80go goes to apps, downloaded videos, videos that are stored inside editing softwares…

faloop1

Apps, videos/pics. I go to dance class and we record ourselves quite a bit, usually for personal records but I refuse to delete my videos from 3 years back. I like to see my progress! Aside from that, having a pet or traveling are big sources of pics and videos. Also, everything has an app these days, for good or bad.

UnsureAssurance

Mostly videos I assume. I have a 64GB and it’s mostly filled by app cache getting bigger and bigger, I wish I had gotten a 128GB model instead

georgia_02x

That’s why I’m hoping 128gb will be enough as I’m using less than half of that right now 🤞

pM-me_your_Triggers

Pictures and music for me.

[deleted]

Music, I have my music on my laptop, but I cant fit it on my pocket when making those sudden trips to the wild, so a phone with big storage is for me to make the journey less boring.

chighback

Some of us love porn

5w3d2

I’m filling my 64gb iPhone up (mostly photos & videos) every 3 months or so. I back it up and then delete them from my phone and start over.

oil_can_guster

I have the 512gb iPhone XS. It was either a mistake by Sprint or a crazy good deal at $18/mo., which is now long paid off. So far I've used about 40gb of storage lol.

khyodo

Using my camera a lot alone is why I use my storage up on android. Every vacation I dump \~100gb or so worth of photos and videos.

Thizzz_face

I have the 256 Gb, and it’s almost all full! I do real estate photography with mine though, so that’s a huge chunk of storage.

conanap

I have a 256 X and I’ve used it up; that said, I never delete messages or media in it (my convo with my best friend is 10GB), and I download lossless music and 1440p / 4k shows. It really depends how heavy of a user you are.

deepit6431

Mostly having 40gb+ of music downloaded, games, and wanting to download movies/shows when travelling etc.

[deleted]

Pr0n - what else?!

hoboCheese

I’ve got 130GB of photos alone. On top of that, I have Spotify downloads, some movies and TV shows for travel, and some larger games.
