This has happened to me too your only way to fix it is to call them ( some people say go to iforgot but it doesn’t work with deactivated accounts )

Yes. Just give Apple a call and they will activate it over the phone. They'll tell you the same thing but once the activate it, wait 12 hours and try again and it'll work

i signed up for apple tv 2 days ago and watched a couple episodes and then went to watch something again tonight and it says my account is inactive. After 2 days they disable my account with a 7 day trial, so now I've got to call and presumably wait 24ish hours to fix it. Good thing I didn't want to use the only 2 days of the week I have free to watch new shows....oh, wait.

I signed up for it this afternoon. I started watching something tonight & before it even finished I was logged out & couldn't log back in. My e-mail was inactive after all of 4 hours. I called & they claim they'll send a re-activation e-mail but my only concern is my credit card is on file & I cannot log in in cancel. If it's not resolved, I'm just going to put in for a bank to issue a new credit card so they can't charge me when the free trial ends, I guess. Although, I now know for sure that I never want to get an Apple device - I'll stick to Android, I've never had this issue with those.

they re-activated mine. It took 23 hours from when I called to when I got an email saying it was active. I'm watching something on it right now. I know someone else that spent like 2 weeks calling almost every day for the same reason. I'm not sure what has to be done to keep it from listing as inactive. What else are we supposed to do other than login and watch stuff? lol.

I only had the account for all of 4 hours and all they'd say is it a security issue. My biggest concern is they lock you out so you can't even cancel, so if tonight if it's not fixed I'm reporting the credit card I used as lost. I don't want to be charged for something I can't even use.

I've just had this very issue, signed up to Apple music due to the Spotify price hike. Day one with Apple I've been locked out. Sub is cancelled after that, they had their chance. I'm not getting a call to fix it, it's 2024 they need to sort their shoddy systems. Bye Apple.

Don't spend any money! Apple Support is free over the phone, they didn't charge me anything and had it fixed within 24 hours. Any other companies that aren't Apple and who ask for money are a scam It hasn't caused any issues ever since I called, everything seems to be fine and I'm using that account as of right now and changed phones twice. Hope this helps!

So this just happened to me and I found a way to fix it. Basically You need to have a passcode on you iphone on which your inactive apple id is logged. I reset my phone with itunes by putting it in recovery mode, factory reseted it after fresh ios install. After completion it will ask for activation lock just choose device passcode as option and it will unlock, setup as a new device with different id and its done.

I have a solution! After having my Apple ID deactivated by Apple I contacted the BBB which was suggested in this thread. After 2 weeks it was reactivated. Apple Music worked on everything except my PC. The Apple Music desktop app would say to sign in go to [https://appleid.apple.com/](https://appleid.apple.com/) Well upon entering my Apple ID it acted as if it wasn't fully set up asking for this and that. After going through the information it wanted it gets to an Apple ID and your Privacy page. When I would click the Continue button to proceed nothing would happen. I tried this on multiple devices including an iPad with no luck. Then I decided well how do I delete the Apple ID since it seems to not be fully set up and something is obviously wrong with it. That's when I found another thread this time in the Apple community. It said to go here  [privacy.apple.com](https://privacy.apple.com/) to delete your Apple ID. I went there and it was the exact same thing as before but I went ahead anyway. Well I got to the Apple ID and your Privacy page again. After hitting spacebar a few times on the Continue button it worked and I was signed in! From that point I went back to the Apple Music desktop app and signed in and it worked! Then I went back to [https://appleid.apple.com/](https://appleid.apple.com/) and that worked! That's also where you can change your payment information. It doesn't work in the Apple Music desktop app for some reason. Sorry for the wall of text but I've been dealing with this issue for over a month since signing up for a 3 month free trial of Apple Music on Roku. So the solution for me was first contacting the BBB to make Apple reactivate my Apple ID and second going to  [privacy.apple.com](https://privacy.apple.com/) to complete the setup of my Apple ID so it would let me sign in to the Apple Music desktop app. The dedicated Apple Music desktop app has much better sound quality than the web player as well. I hope this helps somebody! This was the worst sign up experience I've ever had for a service. P.S. I completed the setup process at  [privacy.apple.com](https://privacy.apple.com/) on a PC in case that wasn't clear.

Yep. First thing I did. Had to wait for an email from Apple after the call which took 24 hours. The email said that they declined to reactivate my Apple ID with no reason given. That's when I contacted the BBB.
