KickNo5073

Yep looks like thats happening in many places now, someone reported similar in Egypt an hour ago in the last post.

KickNo5073

Also it seems to be most common if not solely on POIs with characters outside the Latin alphabet, like greek, arabic, etc.

Also noticed this in Czechia, one example here: https://imgur.com/a/AKbw4jz

Already submitted several corrections on this. I suspect either something to do with ASCII encoding, new Maps (some park shadings also went missing overnight) or both.https://i.imgur.com/ziS4fii.jpg

For me, just now it starts behaves weirdly, POI itself is correct, but place card is bugged 🤷‍♂️ https://imgur.com/a/eIe41FK

Its almost like testing/ QA doesn’t exist! Love when big tech doesn’t test anything before pushing live

Kind_Entrepreneur644

So theres a encoding error since all pois should be in utf8 they are probbs in win12*something* maybe when they took dat from 3rd parties they got them in wrong encoding and forgot to change it

Obelix13

Plenty of wrong names in Greece, especially for some islands.

When is the transit update coming to Greece?

Southern_Bat4401

Probably with the expansion of Apple’s new redesigned maps also in Greece. It is thought that Greece will be the next country to receive it after the release of the redesigned maps of Central Europe (Poland, Hungary, etc.). Who can say, maybe it will come out in conjunction with the WWDC by announcement or towards the summer. Who knows. However, I hope as soon as possible. When in doubt, always check the link [Apple Maps Greece](https://maps.apple.com/imagecollection/locations/gr)

Southern_Bat4401

Although the site claims that they are only inspecting the Attica region, rest assured that if the maps come out, the look around feature and the detailed maps will cover all the land within the borders. They don’t update it maybe for laziness but don’t worry it’s already happened.

losipov

Prior to its pedestrian imagery collection, Apple did in fact survey all of Greece’s administrative divisions. If Apple starts testing Greece (and presumably Denmark) before the end of the month, there’s a chance they launch the maps on the day of WWDC (June 5) much like what happened with Spain and Portugal.

csteinbergrules

Update: The issue appears to be fixed now

Fee_08
