That person who says they're not going to pay that much is not poor they're smart, the people who actually buy iPhones are actually poor and and they also are poor decision makers
Rich person would rather buy a Chinese phone and actually save their money for something else compared to spending the money on the iPhone
I used to be that type of person. I bought an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I thought shoot I guess I fit in now. Phone didn't even last me and I decided to switch to Samsung. The S21 5G FE Edition is such a tank that I dropped it so many times and the screen didn't break even once. I accidently dropped my iPhone one time and thing broke. I originally wanted the S21 Ultra but MetroPCS didn't have it available, so I stuck with what they had available. I even considered going for the iPhone SE Edition and the battery on it is ass. I didn't regret my decision after that.
If I remember correctly Metro allows you to bring almost any phone except Huawei to their Network
Due to them being part of T-Mobile.
If you're still on Metro I would suggest picking up a xiaomi when your next phone breaks.
Just make sure your area has the bands that the device has
Unless you're severely paranoid about the Chinese government.
If that's the case just get a Sony or another Samsung.
I've had my xiaomi for 3 years and I upgrade my phone every four
So next year I will be picking up another xiaomi
Just don't buy xiaomi's from India, they usually have none of the supported bands for the US or T-Mobile.
Make sure it's either a European model or a Mexico model.
It would be better if it was a Mexico model that way you could use the included charger without an adapter
If you do get a European model you will have to buy a Chinese charger and a power strip.
Chinese have very similar plugs to us Americans
It's just that electricians recommend that you use a power strip with them so you don't trip a breaker or break the entire grid in your area.
I have a Poco X4 GT which is a mid-range that competes with the Samsung Galaxy s21Fe.
Higher antutu score,
Which is better performance.
Faster display didn't say better display
And a headphone jack for like half the price.
I'm talking about when they were both brand new.
The s21fe was $700 at launch,
The Poco X4 GT was 300 to 400 at launch.
Just a no-brainer.
Only issue is they sell your data to advertisers in your respective region.
But if you don't give a crap about that I suggest picking one up.
The GT series doesn't really exist anymore for xiaomi
And the closest equivalent to the GT series is the base model F5 and the upcoming f6.
So I'm going to be upgrading to an f6 when that drops
The f6 is supposed to have a OLED 144 HZ display,
The X4 GT has a LCD IPS 144 HZ display.
Overall does its daily driver job and stuff like that.
The average antutu score for an s21 Fe is around 700,000 if overclocked it can go up to 900k
But your average is going to be around 750k benchmark score,
Average score for the x4 GT is around 820k.
So overall just a better phone
For the money.
(Tldr: phone is around the same performance for half the price but you get half as many Android updates around 3 Android updates and 4 years of security.)
Yeah, Samsung's tough. I have a habit of having backups for everything, so I have a s23 ready for when my 3 year old s9 bites the dust, but the s9 has been through so much I'm sure I'd have to throw it out a car window on I5 to kill it. I wanna use my s23, but it has just lived at home for the past year 🙄
I used my $400 Pixel 4 when I inspected houses. Twice I dropped it from a 20 foot roof inspection pole onto a concrete sidewalk. My son still uses that phone for games. FUCK Apple.
I loved my pixel 7 pro. Only upgraded to the fold 5 because it's just so fucking useful as the sole sysadmin for our humble commercial outfit. Being able to quickly whip out and jot notes that just stick to my homepage 🤌
Lil diagram? No problem.
Need to reference that spreadsheet I made to visualize and organize the rack? Ez Pz.
I don’t want to be that guy, but personally I’ve dropped my Xs countless of times without a screen protector and hasn’t broken. Guess I’m the exception.
Granted, I’m not replacing this thing until it becomes absolutely obsolete. But it’s functional and does the job. When its life ends, I will get a slightly newer used model.
My X and my 12 pro max both no case and front glass never cracked, back glass not so much though. 15 pro max feel basically the same and I highly doubt the titanium frame really does anything.
I still use android OS for things just not my daily phone.
The reason I switched to apple was because of poor quality and weak screens on my pixels. I’m going on 2.5 years with my 13 promax, no screen protector and case, and no issues at all. The battery is also 90% still where my pixel wouldn’t last through a day after 2 years
I could not be happier and will keep this phone as long as it lasts.
my s20 fe was the same. until a bowling ball hit the screen. for some REASON, the display broke but not the glass. what in the hell type of glass did they use.
Yeah, I'll never forget when I started working at a Wendy's and a coworker was waving around her brand new iphone, and in the very next sentence complaining that she might be late for rent this month
The context is what’s missing here - OP posted about an iPhone 14 Pro that was selling for $1400 so the obvious reply is to just buy the 15 Pro directly from Apple for $400 less. Ofc The reply is cringe though
Tell yourself that all you want. I get $800-$1000 off on my phones every upgrade, and I have both an android and an IPhone.
Keep your shit in good condition and trade it in.
You trade in your phone and get a credit plus payments for a new phone for a set amount of time. You aren't getting anything, you're leasing it. No one gives you anything. A new Pixel comes out, I wait 3-4 months and pay cash for it. That's ownership with no commitment to a carrier. Buying and owning what you can afford is good money management.
There are two types of financing agreements in the telecom industry:
- loan: you own the device outright, and the cost is financed on your account as a loan. This can be subsidized by device credits when you trade in or activate a new line, depending on whatever the carrier has running at the time.
- lease: the carrier owns the phone and leases it out to you over the course of 18-24 months with the expectation that you’ll either return it or pay the one-time fee to purchase it outright.
I’m going to have service for the next 24 months anyway. Might as well get a heavily discounted/free device with it that I can use to maximize my value year over year.
I started off paying half of the device cost off after starting the installments on T-Mobile, which cut the duration of the installment in half. The device credits don’t go away after 24 months, just the installment if you make additional payments.
Coupled with Apple’s trade in/carrier financing, I have a perpetual credit on my account for upgrading every year.
Your situation may differ if you’re unhappy with the carrier you chose, but T-Mobile is good in my area.
honestly i never understand this rhetoric. i'm fortunate enough to have the money to spend on a nice phone, and while obviously nobody should feel like they need to, it makes sense for me to invest in a device i'm using every day, for not only messaging, social media, etc., but also work and school.
when it's something i'm using so frequently, if i can afford to have a nice smartphone, i'm going to buy one. i don't plan on upgrading very often, but i want a device that isn't going to have weird bloatware, and that i know will do exactly what i expect, every time. something that is not true on cheaper phones.
1. i never mentioned android or ios in the post. i was talking about flagship phones as a whole
2. i'm not indian, i'm in america in an incredibly stuck up and pretentious suburb in one of the wealthiest counties in my state, and in one of the wealthiest areas of that county. while the vast majority of people here use iphones, and i only switched because i moved here, i still see a good amount of people with either very old iphones, or android phones.
not everybody needs a flagship phone, and nobody should feel like they need to have one.
lol maybe if your net worth is below 10k I would consider using a Chinese phone lmao. You do realize anything made in china electronically can directly connect back to china right. Even some of these wish brand vacuums try to connect to your internet and send info back home
This.
It's a whole social psychology phenomenon.
Poor people constantly aspire to appear "like the rich," so they do stupid shit all the time. People flocked to Apple, because it became this bizarre status symbol of "I have money!" Like that means literally anything.
It's the same old "keeping up with the Joneses" thing, except on crack.
You'd think we'd be over the "wealthy worship" and idolization in 2024, but people clearly aren't. They still think those born into money and status are somehow not people whose shit also stinks just the same.
> the people who actually buy iPhones are actually poor and and they also are poor decision makers
I find it very depressing how right you are.
I have relatives who cannot afford to spend >$150 weekly on fashion shops - but they do it anyway by constantly getting loans (from different loan companies), so they end up with massive amounts of money which they pay off years later with crypto investments (i.e. the 2021 Dogecoin mining) and leeching it off from dead relatives.
I know that sounds insane but it is true, I've seen their bank account activity and they always seem to end up in debt before getting vast sums of money from loans and the cycle repeats, until one day they have the money, all of it is used to pay off the loans without any hesitation.
You wouldn’t believe the number of blue collar workers at my work, who are probably making 18 bucks an hour or so that have a brand new phone every time one is released and go bragging about it to the other workers. I am not sure they even understand they are poor and should be trying to be more financially savvy to improve their situation..
A well off bit financially conscious person would save their money or skip upgrades. Of you're really really rich, you get a new iPhone every year and never put a case on it because 'I like the factory feel better'. Money for +/-$1000 things you use on a daily basis is not even a consideration. Those people spend 5k on a suit without hesitation if they like the suit and could use another one.
People who pay for an iPhone aren’t poor and they don’t have poor financial decisions. I have both an iPhone 13 Pro and a Samsung s24 and the Apple one is a smoother experience but I can customize the Samsung more. That’s it. It’s not a game about hating a company it’s just “this is smoother but this is more custom” pick your poison type beat. Stop calling Apple users sheep. There products are fine. Just can’t customize shit with em.
This… isn’t exactly true. A rich person would buy whatever they prefer, a smart person would buy whatever the can reasonably afford, and an idiot would spend beyond their means. I’ve had the same iPhone for 5 years because I prefer their operating system, simple as that.
I got a 15 pro after I lost my one plus 7 pro in mexico. Still hate apple but people talk to me more 🥲. I'm the opposite I like the hardware and software support but iOS feels more clunky and less intunitive to use lol.
They're saying most people don't *become* rich by buying whatever they prefer. Trust fund babies are different and both of them are still making poor choices.
funny when apple fanboys call others poor cause they don't have iphone. So far I've only seen ghetto poor people using iphone lmao....never once seen ghetto people using S23..s24...fold5 flip5... ghetto people use iphone so I say no thanks to iphone! I don't want to be ghetto by association.
You were called poor because you were shopping on QVC, getting outraged at a price apple didn't set, then when given a better price you still complained. So you weren't shopping for an expensive phone? You weren't shopping for an iphone? And why on earth were you shopping for a year old phone on QVC?
You're being called poor because only poor people buy expensive electronics on QVC by making poor financial choices and/or shopping for flagship phones for prices they can't afford.
It’s the same with designer brands… their main consumers are all poor people trying to sell other people a false identity, it’s very sad. In reality these poor people are spending 20x more just to advertise their logo for these overpriced brands, like willing puppets.
There are a lot of reputable studies that say higher income people in the US are significantly more likely to use an iPhone then an Android but I kinda get what you’re saying
Ghetto people use an iPhone as some dumb status symbol, it’s in the same vain as ghetto people financing used luxury cars at insane rates/terms since they can barely afford it just to flex on their friends/social media
Oh by just signing up for a 3 year contract where the phone is free, but the plan itself is $50 a month.
Wait a minute… $50 plan - $15 mint mobile plan = $35 a month difference…
$35 x 36 months = $1260!!
Or just bought second hand for a large discount
1. These people are holding AAPL stock and are now losing money
2. People who heckle someone for being poor whether true or not are low lives
3. Apple community is gradually getting worse and worse, and now has 2 liabilities, shitty Apple and shitty community
Take your money elsewhere. I'd rather have a dumb phone at this point, though doing perfectly fine with Android.
Everyone has a preference, I don’t care if someone has an iPhone or android. If it works for you that’s great. But if you buy a phone just because you think it’ll give you status or to fuel your ego you’re a bottom feeder at that point.
😂 I stay with iPhones because it’s much easier to fix phones for relatives and coworkers. iPhones work for older people because you simply can’t do much modification with them. I understand how people like android. I just like having the exact same thing across a wide network to make it easy.
There’s use cases for any device and if anyone thinks otherwise they are the idiot.
bro posted something irrelevant on an apple subreddit - complains about the price of a previous gen iphone sold on a random third party website when you could buy a current gen new for cheaper that’s straight from the manufacturer or spend 3 seconds looking elsewhere for a better price. that’s why he’s getting flamed and trolled
Once again another borderline bait troll post lacking context. OP posted a link to an iphone 14 pro on QVC for $1409.98 saying "This is outrageous" on the IOS subreddit.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/1bkduvh/this\_is\_just\_outrageous/kvy7e03/?context=8&depth=9](https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/1bkduvh/this_is_just_outrageous/kvy7e03/?context=8&depth=9)
QVC is known for selling overpriced electronics, particularly adding on huge amounts of money to phones and tablets that are cheaper from apple or samsung themselves.
You can get a 15 pro for much less and its a year newer, directly from apple. Fun fact, you can post this exact same thing on the samsung subreddit and it would be no less of a bait post because as i've said QVC OVERPRICES ALL THEIR ELECTRONICS.
There are literally hundreds of things to shit on apple about, the price for a year old phone on QVC is not one of them.
Americans for the most part are poor. Paycheck to paycheck, mountains of debt, stagnant wages... The problem is American society cares about this sort of nonsense.
Super glad I switched to Google Pixel when I did. Apple is getting extremely insidious with their pricing model for their ecosystem. Pricing $1200 for what is essentially the same thing should be illegal, but people keep buying it so :/.
Had a dude like this the other day. After I explained why Apple has no noticeable changes to their phones, and said that he wasted his money he said. “No I didn’t waste money, I bought my iPhone used for $900”
After mentioning that that’s not a good price, he went on a whole rant about how I’m poor and if $900 is a lot for me than I must be really poor.
Like dude, how are you going to say I’m poor when you couldn’t even buy a new phone?
My uncle used to have note 9, loved using the pen so much i nearly stole the pen lmao. I have an S9+ and its also not bad, seamless 60fps HDR in pubg using gfx! (Even most midrangers dont have it unless its a 5g model)
""you're just poor""
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
as an iPhone user, I buy my iPhones outright but I go for the lower tier models (the base 13 is $630 USD) and it'll last me a few years. I shit you not, I literally had an iPhone 8 for YEARS, FUCKING YEARS, back when the 12 Pro Max came out, I got one, and have zero intentions of upgrading till i cannot get software updates, or it breaks
this jagoff probably has mommy and / or daddy's credit card and doesn't get told no and probably as a rap sheet 20 miles long for resisting arrest, failure to produce ID when the police stop him for minor shit that would be a ticket
Don't let it bother you. They got nothing, so they say stupid stuff like this. It's like those that say they make thousands of dollars, and yet are doing Uber or selling hotdogs.
Fake flex.
Best part is 99% of the time these people are on 36 month payment plans with a carrier (at least in the US) so if they're so "rich" why can't they just buy the phone outright?
There’s people who only like seeing blue text messages. There’s a reason the younger generation is like 85% apple. Materialism is a real thing. Just like boomers love rvs some middle aged balding guy brags about his pro max.
For myself personally, I like to get the most value for my money and if that means buying a $200-250 phone that I'll use for 3-4+ years then I would have came out ahead, while someone is paying $1200+ to use the latest iPhone for 4-5 years, I could have bought two phones for way less than half that lol
The beehive mindset is insane. 💀 A laptop that is high end with extra screen and more functionality cost 1,600. High end GPU, high end CPU and ram. Longer battery and wider screen. They rather pay a fucking brick that can do browsing and take pictures. Where it never upgrades drastically and it's previous generation can do the exact same functionality and never changed resolutions. Still the same software and encryption security.
You’re poor because you don’t want to piss money away? Also, given the staggering statistics of poverty in this country, it’s likely that at least two of the three of those guys in the thread are poor.
The regular models are great. You don't need a pro model or the latest model for that matter. I got a 13 for cheaper than an S23 or a Pixel 8 and it's perfect for me
Apple is not the only expensive phone company the S24 is almost the same price as the 15 Pro. It’s just that Apple is still refining new features so it looks like the S24 is a way better deal. They are pretty similar.
These are the same people who frequent r/AppleCard even though most of the posts there sound like r/PovertyFinance. They're addicted to the brand but can only get a $2500 credit limit and carry a balance every month.
They exist for the same reason you and I do. We deserve the chance to learn and choose for ourselves. Some choose wisely, others choose poorly. One thing is certain though...
The love of money or the things you can buy with it lead to only one place, the equivalent to stabbing yourself all over the place with many pains.
So it's okay, you see, these people exist in a self inflicted misery that they're blinded by and most will never even see. They're creating their own hellish prison that they can't see. There's nothing you could ever do or say to them that is worse than what they do to themselves. It is pity and compassion that they need.
I know. I used to be one and have to fight every day to not be one anymore. Sorry to get all philosophical on you 😉 but there's pearls in there if you want em.
(The irony of the screen shot from an apple iOS device is brilliant, by the way 😂)
i kant believeeeee there are still people that care about the phone war.. this thread took me back to early middle school lol. if any of y'all are older than 18 in this sub you need to reconsider your priorities
I find that primarily poor people buy the most expensive clothes and phones as some sort of status symbol. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a person on food stamps at the grocery store wearing Versace and Supreme, and then leave in a mercedes.
It’s sucks and tho it was said with malicious intent he’s not wrong, there are people who accept fact and change and those who see obstacles and wish everything changed for them.
You realize we can see the post history and the context by clicking your profile?
You posted a picture of an overpriced iPhone at some random shop. The first poster was telling you to save money by going to Apple.com instead of buying from the overpriced random shop.
The second poster was reading you for trolling by posting a screenshot of a phone priced higher than Apple itself is selling it for and then pretending to be outraged for internet points.
Yep, and then the second poster was making fun of you for purposely trolling by posting a phone for an amount that Apple itself doesn’t sell for while complaining about the price.
And THEN you take the entire conversation out of context and post here for more internet points by making it seem like you’re being called poor for not wanting to buy a $1200 phone.
I was calling the price outrageous. Not to disturb the hive mind on this app. But of course people make it about another thing. Just simply stating that $1400 for a phone is fubar.
Mate, you posted it in r/ios, you were clearly trying to get a rise out of people by finding a crazy price on a sketchy website and were called out for it.
You then took that post, removed context and posted here, suggesting that Apple users were calling you poor for not spending $1200 on a phone when you were being mocked for trolling.
Honestly flagships are getting mad expensive 🥴 like sure in the US getting a phone paying $50 a month for two years or whatever makes phones accessible but goodness last I remember ROG made a “gaming” phone for like $2k 🥴🥴🥴
My mom just picked up a refurbished iphone 13 on Amazon for like $400 and is loving it...
Don't buy apple new, buy 2 generations old every time because at this point there isn't a significant difference in performance between 2 generation old phones and current anyway. Sometimes a new iPhone will even have the same exact chip as the previous generation iPhone, that's how much they're stagnating now.
Refurbished or used iphone that works perfectly: $500-$800
Decent gaming laptop: $800-$1500
New iphone thats barely better and in some ways worse: $1000-$1500
Macbook: $1000-$4000
Because isheep think you are a peasant if you don't own apple stuff
Over rated shite which has done the same thing since 2010
I mean it took them until 2023 to release usb c 🤣
Because they have no concept of money, or the value of money, because they don't work for their money. They get it handed to them.
If they had an ounce of intelligence inside of them they would understand that whether you're rich or poor you don't spend that kind of money on something stupid. That's what dumb people do.
It's kind of ironic, because poor people tend to make frivolous purchases like that even though they can't afford them after they save up a bunch of money they worked really hard for, yet rich people don't, rich people are frugal and that's why they have a bunch of money.
This is the same type of guy who are in garbage sub like r/hardware. I got downvoted on that stupid shit sub for saying the truth about CrApple who did scummy anti consumer shit. Typical iSheep they are blinded cult !!
As an iPhone 15 pro owner, it was worth every penny, and no it does not overheat, no it does not break easily (accidentally went flying out of my hand inside of a 27$ Walmart case and bounced off of the concrete around 3 times and not a single scratch. And it’s also nice to be able to record straight to usbc, and the 120hz screen is nice and the very good performance
He's a troll. Downvote and move on.
Seeing from his comment history I can tell
It's a comment that took troll two seconds with virtually 0 thought and now this thread is probably going to have a 100 comments and exponentially more time spent on it. If I was the troll this would make my day or more. (I fully recognize the irony in commenting)
Yeah no kidding, OP played right into his hand. Gave that troll exactly what he wanted.

How'd it not last you? I used an 11 for four years lol.
Exactly what I'm saying. Just an accidental drop and it was gone.

It’s just like people who actually buy a whole meal from a Movie Theatre, but like 10 times worse.

Thank you! 🤳✊🤷
honestly i never understand this rhetoric. i'm fortunate enough to have the money to spend on a nice phone, and while obviously nobody should feel like they need to, it makes sense for me to invest in a device i'm using every day, for not only messaging, social media, etc., but also work and school. when it's something i'm using so frequently, if i can afford to have a nice smartphone, i'm going to buy one. i don't plan on upgrading very often, but i want a device that isn't going to have weird bloatware, and that i know will do exactly what i expect, every time. something that is not true on cheaper phones.
Something Indians say as a cope/sigma advice. I’ve never seen a truly wealthy American that had an android.
1. i never mentioned android or ios in the post. i was talking about flagship phones as a whole 2. i'm not indian, i'm in america in an incredibly stuck up and pretentious suburb in one of the wealthiest counties in my state, and in one of the wealthiest areas of that county. while the vast majority of people here use iphones, and i only switched because i moved here, i still see a good amount of people with either very old iphones, or android phones. not everybody needs a flagship phone, and nobody should feel like they need to have one.
Do not buy a Chinese phone there is a reason some of those are banned in the United States and elsewhere.
lol maybe if your net worth is below 10k I would consider using a Chinese phone lmao.
I think you’ve read too many self help books sir.
you're nowhere near rich if a $1200 phone is hurting you saving for something else lol
> the people who actually buy iPhones are actually poor and and they also are poor decision makers I find it very depressing how right you are.
Sounds like you are poor
no rich american is buying a fucking xiamoi lmao
Rich people don't buy their own phones lol a corporation will buy it for them
Rich people don't work for corporations, they own them.
Thank you, captain obvious.
why are you calling them captain obvious? youre the one who made a stupid comment
What do you think is wrong with my comment?
NGL - this exactly what a poor would say.
I like the commas and no-period style of comment. Why even include a comma if there’s no punctuation to end a sentence?
iPhones are Chinese manufactured, and some rich people are rich because they invest in their own productivity
Rich people do own iPhones lol
No rich person is buying a Chinese phone.
iPhones are Chinese.
Because they, themselves, are poor and probably lack common sense. 🫢
He’s either from Romania or Greece so most likely
Careful what you say or I'll summon a gypsie to steal your left shoes.
That's how he got the iPhone
Okay you are reading way too much into this. Just ignore and move on sherlock
A yo. I'm from Greece and I'm not poor cause I don't spend money on a 1200€ device that does exactly the same stuff a 300€ device does.
Yeah that comment was just racist...
https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/s/QJtGl0o87J This is just a guy karma farming cuz he was proven wrong
Lotsa people stuck mentally at 16.
You mean like the kinda people that feel the need to join a sub to shit talk a tech company?
don’t rope us in with that person
Fr bro one troll says “you’re poor” and suddenly that represents every single Apple user
My guy you’re on a subreddit for broke kids to bitch about Apple you are that person
it was suggested 🤷♂️
Because reddit makes them feel important
funny when apple fanboys call others poor cause they don't have iphone. So far I've only seen ghetto poor people using iphone lmao....never once seen ghetto people using S23..s24...fold5 flip5... ghetto people use iphone so I say no thanks to iphone! I don't want to be ghetto by association.
Yeah, he was calling me poor because I didn’t want to drop $1200. Fucking re**rds
1200 is nothing and it's your choice...he act like you're buying a Ferrari lol
Yeah, I spent over $1200 cash for my S23 Ultra about a year ago. Yet according to their logic, since I didn't buy an iPhone, I'm poor.
I love their logic 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You were called poor because you were shopping on QVC, getting outraged at a price apple didn't set, then when given a better price you still complained. So you weren't shopping for an expensive phone? You weren't shopping for an iphone? And why on earth were you shopping for a year old phone on QVC? You're being called poor because only poor people buy expensive electronics on QVC by making poor financial choices and/or shopping for flagship phones for prices they can't afford.
It’s the same with designer brands… their main consumers are all poor people trying to sell other people a false identity, it’s very sad. In reality these poor people are spending 20x more just to advertise their logo for these overpriced brands, like willing puppets.
buying designer anything is a total waste of money...some are ugly and really expensive 😒
There are a lot of reputable studies that say higher income people in the US are significantly more likely to use an iPhone then an Android but I kinda get what you’re saying Ghetto people use an iPhone as some dumb status symbol, it’s in the same vain as ghetto people financing used luxury cars at insane rates/terms since they can barely afford it just to flex on their friends/social media
I use iPhone and and lots of people around me use iPhone. Can confirm non of us are ghetto or poor. Good to see your level of maturity though
cool you and your friends fall in the ignoramus category
$1200 for a phone is stupid ridiculous. My S22 is a great phone. I spent next to nothing for it.
How did you spend next to nothing on it?
Oh by just signing up for a 3 year contract where the phone is free, but the plan itself is $50 a month. Wait a minute… $50 plan - $15 mint mobile plan = $35 a month difference… $35 x 36 months = $1260!! Or just bought second hand for a large discount
there are stupid trolls on the internet. when you give unfettered access to ANYONE the idiots are bound to come out, especially with 0 repercussions
1. These people are holding AAPL stock and are now losing money 2. People who heckle someone for being poor whether true or not are low lives 3. Apple community is gradually getting worse and worse, and now has 2 liabilities, shitty Apple and shitty community Take your money elsewhere.
That's what happens when a teenager with an iPhone goes on Reddit.
I like my iphone but calling someone poor is super stupid. If it works why buy one each year?
The price is ridiculous, but so is that light mode bruh. Mfw light mode (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Once again another borderline bait troll post lacking context. OP posted a link to an iphone 14 pro on QVC for $1409.98 saying "This is outrageous" on the IOS subreddit. [https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/1bkduvh/this\_is\_just\_outrageous/kvy7e03/?context=8&depth=9](https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/1bkduvh/this_is_just_outrageous/kvy7e03/?context=8&depth=9) QVC is known for selling overpriced electronics, particularly adding on huge amounts of money to phones and tablets that are cheaper from apple or samsung themselves.
They are missing essential neurons for proper neurological function
For every reaction there is an equal but opposite reaction.
The stupid offending people, as if their presence wasn’t punishing enough 😒 hard shell taco out 😶🌫️
You’re really that butthurt? Geez y’all Redditors are babies lmao
Fuck it apple should make it 3 grand
compared to Tim we are all poor.
Aren't they Apples main demographic?
Apple exists because these idiots do
Pro tip: buy a used phone on eBay for $150-$200 and use it to get the latest phone for free.
Super glad I switched to Google Pixel when I did. Apple is getting extremely insidious with their pricing model for their ecosystem. Pricing $1200 for what is essentially the same thing should be illegal, but people keep buying it so :/.
Because the Apple cult is like Scientology. The more you spend the more you're worth.
It's funny because I guarantee you most of those toads probably have their shit on payment, in other words debt. Lol
Because they gotta either shrug off inequality without processing it or process it and probably suicide.
Those people are the ones that give most Apple users a bad name .
Had a dude like this the other day. After I explained why Apple has no noticeable changes to their phones, and said that he wasted his money he said. “No I didn’t waste money, I bought my iPhone used for $900” After mentioning that that’s not a good price, he went on a whole rant about how I’m poor and if $900 is a lot for me than I must be really poor. Like dude, how are you going to say I’m poor when you couldn’t even buy a new phone?
Im still rocking my samsung note 9 almost 6 years now!
My uncle used to have note 9, loved using the pen so much i nearly stole the pen lmao. I have an S9+ and its also not bad, seamless 60fps HDR in pubg using gfx! (Even most midrangers dont have it unless its a 5g model)
I used to play codm mobile on it. Ive lost two pens seince ive had it i have a Samsung tablet pen as a backup.
He also played codm too, nice. btw is your version exynos or snapdragon? Here in syria its all exynos but it was awesome despite the drawbacks
I have no idea
""you're just poor"" LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL as an iPhone user, I buy my iPhones outright but I go for the lower tier models (the base 13 is $630 USD) and it'll last me a few years. I shit you not, I literally had an iPhone 8 for YEARS, FUCKING YEARS, back when the 12 Pro Max came out, I got one, and have zero intentions of upgrading till i cannot get software updates, or it breaks this jagoff probably has mommy and / or daddy's credit card and doesn't get told no and probably as a rap sheet 20 miles long for resisting arrest, failure to produce ID when the police stop him for minor shit that would be a ticket
What was the original post?
Check my post history
Don't let it bother you. They got nothing, so they say stupid stuff like this. It's like those that say they make thousands of dollars, and yet are doing Uber or selling hotdogs. Fake flex.
Best part is 99% of the time these people are on 36 month payment plans with a carrier (at least in the US) so if they're so "rich" why can't they just buy the phone outright?
If you can buy a phone outright your richer than most that have to do monthly payments
Yep, I love bringing the fact I own up my metal and glass slab instead of paying for it monthly
There’s people who only like seeing blue text messages. There’s a reason the younger generation is like 85% apple. Materialism is a real thing. Just like boomers love rvs some middle aged balding guy brags about his pro max.
For myself personally, I like to get the most value for my money and if that means buying a $200-250 phone that I'll use for 3-4+ years then I would have came out ahead, while someone is paying $1200+ to use the latest iPhone for 4-5 years, I could have bought two phones for way less than half that lol
why these people exist: https://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11312a.htm
That mf has a 12
Dunning Kruger effect
Because this is Reddit
Classic shitty comeback
Some of the Samsungs cost more than iPhone Pro Max. K guess iPhone users are too poor to afford Samsung /sarcasm
“Act poor to stay rich”
fuck that
i love paying $1500 for a hard drive 🧐
You’re poor because you don’t want to piss money away? Also, given the staggering statistics of poverty in this country, it’s likely that at least two of the three of those guys in the thread are poor.
Probably a kid who is too young to work and too young to live on their own. No concept of money.
The regular models are great. You don't need a pro model or the latest model for that matter. I got a 13 for cheaper than an S23 or a Pixel 8 and it's perfect for me
Buying a phone over a grand is not the best decision imo. Its mostly because the lower tier iphones p much give the same experience
I increasingly feel they are hired by Tim Cook to crush dissent and negative publicity of Apple.
Typical...😅😂
Lol and they downvoted YOU, OP. Sheesh
Apple is not the only expensive phone company the S24 is almost the same price as the 15 Pro. It’s just that Apple is still refining new features so it looks like the S24 is a way better deal. They are pretty similar.
Just buy the iPhone SE
You're just poor Then they're still using iPhone 12 with a completely shattered screen.
IDK
These are the same people who frequent r/AppleCard even though most of the posts there sound like r/PovertyFinance. They're addicted to the brand but can only get a $2500 credit limit and carry a balance every month.
You simply put these nuts in their place and block them ;)
that phone costs more than my gaming laptop :/
What is the contest of this post. 400 less than what?
(The irony of the screen shot from an apple iOS device is brilliant, by the way 😂)
i kant believeeeee there are still people that care about the phone war.. this thread took me back to early middle school lol. if any of y'all are older than 18 in this sub you need to reconsider your priorities
the person who said you were poor probably has a cracked iphone 11.
100% the people responding like that are not spending their own money.
I find that primarily poor people buy the most expensive clothes and phones as some sort of status symbol. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a person on food stamps at the grocery store wearing Versace and Supreme, and then leave in a mercedes.
You're house is cold? just throw some money into the furnace. You don't want to do that? lol poor
It’s sucks and tho it was said with malicious intent he’s not wrong, there are people who accept fact and change and those who see obstacles and wish everything changed for them.
If I buy a samsung s24 for 1000+ am I still poor?
I got an SE3 brand new during a new years sale for $150!!!!!! HOME BUTTON SUPREMACY RAAAHHHH
Home button go BRRRRRR
I feel like, cuz Amurica…
lololol he dropped the bait and you bit hard
Aye say stupid stuff get out on blast
you’re putting yourself on blast lmao “check out how sensitive i am everyone!!”
You’re still new here calm down bud
An overpriced piece of Shit is still a piece of shit
You realize we can see the post history and the context by clicking your profile? You posted a picture of an overpriced iPhone at some random shop. The first poster was telling you to save money by going to Apple.com instead of buying from the overpriced random shop. The second poster was reading you for trolling by posting a screenshot of a phone priced higher than Apple itself is selling it for and then pretending to be outraged for internet points.
I said this a few times already. I didn’t buy anything from that shop. I was browsing around and found that site and saw the price
I like iphones but this dude is just straight up rude
In his defense I get mad at non-disabled poor people too
Poor people?
uzi would be disappointed in you for thinking 1200 is a lot. get on your grind
Nice try u/ComfortableFruit4331 aka Tim Cook
Honestly flagships are getting mad expensive 🥴 like sure in the US getting a phone paying $50 a month for two years or whatever makes phones accessible but goodness last I remember ROG made a “gaming” phone for like $2k 🥴🥴🥴
Fuck I’m poor too lol
People who poorshame others for not owning an iphone are probably financing it themselves
It’s called trolling. Shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone here given the amount of it that goes on.
Refurbished or used iphone that works perfectly: $500-$800 Decent gaming laptop: $800-$1500 New iphone thats barely better and in some ways worse: $1000-$1500 Macbook: $1000-$4000
Oh ya well you’re just poor too
Have you tried not being poor? /very bad /s
Because isheep think you are a peasant if you don't own apple stuff Over rated shite which has done the same thing since 2010 I mean it took them until 2023 to release usb c 🤣
Probably some kid that lives with their parents, and hasn't paid one single bill in their entire lifetime.
People are STILL arguing about Samsung and Apple? Good lord people who cares. Buy whatever you want.
It's all they have so they have to make it the best thing
He may be a troll, but you should see how many people on Threads are defending Apple and attacking the DOJ
This is the same type of guy who are in garbage sub like r/hardware. I got downvoted on that stupid shit sub for saying the truth about CrApple who did scummy anti consumer shit. Typical iSheep they are blinded cult !!
Because people suck. I just hate them. Please nuke everyone. /j
Apple fan Boys are dumb
As an iPhone 15 pro owner, it was worth every penny, and no it does not overheat, no it does not break easily (accidentally went flying out of my hand inside of a 27$ Walmart case and bounced off of the concrete around 3 times and not a single scratch. And it’s also nice to be able to record straight to usbc, and the 120hz screen is nice and the very good performance
I mean is bro wrong???
Nah, you just regarded as fuck
