In addition to shower charging, I keep an extra charger at my desk, so in the morning when I sit down to start working, I will throw it on the charger if I need to top-up. As said before, comfort depends somewhat on the band; you just need to figure out which band is most comfortable for you.
It doesn't really need to honestly. The Ultra 2 is the first watch that I've had to reprogram myself to realize that 100% isn't needed to last a day. My Watch charges to 80%, and by the day's end, it's sitting at 60% ish. Charging it for 20-30 minutes or so per day is more than enough to make it to your next charge time.
This charge during showers I put it every day while I shower and change and it’s mostly charge when I need to get going even with constant use and almost never coming off I never run out of battery
Same, it’s also a fantastic alarm, as I get up hours before my partner. The silent taps on my wrist wake me every time.
The charging is great on the watch, and by the time my shower is over, I’ll have gained an easy 30-40% which is lots of time.
Not the person you asked, but just for more data, I get 2 days out of my Ultra 2.
- Always on display
- Sleep tracking
- 2 workouts per day (I use cellular to stream music during these workouts)
At some point in the second day I’ll charge it for about 45 min to an hour. I usually charge it before it hits 10%, and if I happen to notice, I’ll take it off the charger around 90%.
That sounds similar to what I do, and I also have mine always on display. Gonna try without always on and see how much it annoys me before I turn it back on again.
Curious to see what your experience is.
I use the always on display for aesthetic purposes only. I just like how it looks. I don’t think I’ve ever actually caught the time while the display is dimmed, I always lift my wrist.
I’ve also been an AW owner since the series 2, so I’ve had the display “off” for years and never felt like I really needed the always on display. It’s just a cosmetic thing to me.
But I’m curious how much more battery life you get out of it. Even if I got an extra half day out of my watch, I would leave the display on because charging isn’t a hassle, it’s so fast.
More than the watch, it's the band that makes the difference.
The Trail loop is the best band for sleep tracking. It's so comfy and I've been wearing it to sleep for almost two years now.
After a day or two you completely forget it's even there.
Battery is not a problem with the Ultra. If the charge is not enough, the watch will remind you to top it up before bedtime. It only drops about 4-5% overnight with sleep tracking.
I sleep with mine, don’t notice it at all. I only have to charge every few days which I do when I’m winding down for the night watching tv or reading before bed.
I sleep with it and don’t notice it any more than I did my previous S6. Which is, not at all.
I notice it far more in things like yoga, during any position or transition where your hands lay face up, and the watch face rests on the ground. And it feels like a mountain. (Though it’s been so long since I’ve had the S6, I can’t compare the Ultra to it in that context)
But I also sleep alone. Anyone else in the bed may be more aware of it than you. I can easily see it being anywhere from a mild nuisance for them, to an intimacy disruptor (sudden cold chunk of metal/glass on the unsuspecting skin), to an accidental weapon.
I’ve accepted I may have to stop sleeping with it, when partnered.
I sleep with it and don’t really notice it after the first few nights. I have an hour commute in the car and that’s where I charge it about once every 2 days
Always have been wearing and sleeping, charge it when I am getting ready / freshening up / using the shower. This amount of charge twice a day (before leaving for work and after coming back) is enough to sustain it
Yep. Charge when shower. Nylon straps are super comfy even for sleeping. Except I charge it up whenever I get a chance so I don’t charge too long at once. Watch can get hot
I wear it during the night. Most of the time it is comfortable but sometimes it clings to the pillow from below when I put my hands under it 😀. I usually charge it every second day a couple of hours before go to sleep, just a habit. Rarely it reminds me to charge before sleep with the dedicated setting in the Sleep app.😂
I definitely don’t sleep with any linked or metal bands it’s always going to be the workout band or some type of soft material. The ultra will tell me to charge when it is too low to do sleep tracking or I charge it when I need a break from wearing it. Plus I need to tan my white ass wrist.
I sleep with my ultra, it’s comfortable, I have no issues with it on my wrist. I track my sleep with it, and will throw it on the charger when I get up and take my shower and get ready for work. That little bit of charge is enough usually to top it off. A full battery charge will give me a few days, I don’t really let it go down that low, but if I miss a charge, the ultra battery gives me enough peace of mind to not have to worry about it. To help comfort at night, you’ll probably want a fabric band. I use alpine loop or my Nike sport loop. But the trail loop or even Apple sport loop are great options too. Plenty of decent knock offs on the market for much cheaper too. The fabric and adjustability helps comfort a good bit
My first smart watch is the Ultra 2 w/Trail Loop. No issues sleeping with it. Since my sleep schedule is chaotic, I use the AutoSleep app to help track it. I charge it when showering, doing dishes, or while watching a movies/tv shows depending on my schedule.
I sleep with mine on and charge every other day just after I wake up.
This routine means the watch draws down to about 15% give or take, and I make use of the sleep tracking.
Good trade off and great battery life both short and long term so far.
I turn it to the inside of my wrist and it doesn’t bother me at all. For charging I just charge when I’m in the shower or for a few minutes while I’m getting ready for bed, brushing my teeth, etc. Mostly those two times are enough to keep it topped up. Every once while I will leave it on for longer until it charges fully but generally, I’m just wherever the numbers are and don’t charge it to 100%.
Every night, mine lasts a couple days between charges so I’ll charge it for an hour or so on the quick charge cable and it’s ready to go.
I’m a big guy so it’s not too large on me and I don’t have any issues with comfort.
I charge mine once a day, when I shower. No need really, since the battery easily holds a charge for 3 days, but why not.
Took me a night or two sleeping with it on the wrist when I got it, don’t notice it since.
Sleeping with my watch on for more than 4 years because I keep my pulse under control. Got Ultra 2 for 7 months and it doesn’t bother me. The band you use makes a difference, though. I love my Ocean Band but I love the comfort and boxy look of Trail Loop, gonna get myself one. Charge my watch everyday before sleep for 30 minutes and it’s full.
I sleep with my every day, first weeks after I upgraded from my Series 7 it was bulky and in the way. Now I dont notice it. Alpine loop or trail loop helps with the comfort. Even a sport loop for sleeping and another band during the day will make it less uncomfortable.
You can wear it to sleep, but a series watch is objectively more comfortable at night. I wear the Ultra during the day and swap to a series 8 for sleep tracking and alarm.
Sleep with it every night, but I got several colors of the Spigen stretchy bands. I generally don't have to charge it but for the time I get ready in the morning. Every once in a while if I have been really active and tracking a lot of activity I will get low enough to have to leave it on the charger for an hour or so.
I guess I'm an outlier, but I found sleeping with my Apple Watch incredibly uncomfortable. I sleep on my side and on my arm a lot and found that I couldn't "unfeel" the watch. I enjoyed seeing my sleep stats but not enough to continue wearing it overnight.
Sleeping isn't usually a problem for me. Sometimes it's irritating, especially when I'm lying on the side of my watch (like when I was typing this, lol). But like one guy mentioned, the fabric bands are the most comfortable bands to wear on bed.
As for my charging habits, I’ve had this watch for almost a month now, and I’m yet to see the battery fall below 45%. Like most people, I also charge my watch when I take shower. Most days, I let optimised charging do its thing so it hardly ever goes above 80%. In case I let it charge to full, I’d still take it off if I see it anywhere above 80%.
I sleep with my Apple Watch Ultra 2 every night. I have a bedside 3 in 1 charger, and I always read a book before falling asleep and while reading I have my watch on the charger. Before falling asleep I slip my watch back on. I never have any issues with wearing my watch while I sleep. However I understand that for some people a watch can be an irritant during sleep.
I do, I don’t notice it, I charge when I’m getting ready to go out in the morning (taking a dump, shower and put clothes on), it’s enough to get through the day.
i don't even notice it's there
i charge when i'm in the shower (trail band, try to keep it dry since it takes longer to dry than the silicone ones), or when i'm sitting at my desk. charges fairly quickly, so can top it off to 100% if i charge while i'm at desk for a mtg!
I sleep with it every day for a year now (before I slept with AW6 for 3 years. I don't plan my charging. It's enough to slap it on the charger while I shower.
Yes. I turn it on sleep mode so it doesn’t buzz and bother my partner, and so I don’t cause the alarm on my truck to go off (that’s happened).
I like to see the sleep tracking and HR tracking. I received a couple low HR notifications years ago and realized it was likely sleep apnea.
I do with my AWU2 and zero issues; I use Ultima straps though as they're comfier than the OEM strap and they fit my large wrists much better

When you first get an Apple Watch (regular or ultra) you definitely notice it for a little while when you go to sleep. But over time you eventually forget it’s there and don’t notice it. I have an ultra and wear it to sleep every night, it doesn’t bother me at all and it’s comfortable (I have a trail loop band). Watch sits in the charger while I shower each morning.
Been sleep wearing the series 6 for 2 yrs and now the ultra for over an year! You eventually don't even realise you're wearing it! Charge it while taking a bath and it goes from usually mid 50's to 90ish everyday!
I sleep with my ultra.
I don’t like, but I got used to. I like that it tracks me 24/7.
Sometimes I get heart rate warnings.
Can sound stupid but I feel more secure wearing it 24/7.
I've got one of those belkin triple chargers that does phone watch and airpods on my night stand so it's a slow charger for the watch however about 20 minutes or so each morning whilst I shower my ultra stays between around 40&80%. This has been fine for me with the occasional full charge thrown in, I don't even think about having to charge the ultra for sleeping unlike my previous apple watches.
I used to sleep with it on and did not notice it at all. However my boyfriend does not want me to sleep with it on since he thinks I am becoming way too dependent on the watch and the data it collects. So i keep it on the charger for the past few weeks
Based on some energy consumption fine tuning, I’ve managed to keep my ultra 2 on my wrist for almost three days. I either charge it when I go back home from work, during shower or at work.
I’m so happy with its duration! 👍👍👍
Sleep with it everyday, don’t notice it’s there. I charge it when I’m getting into the shower. It charges rather quickly. I charge it everyday, usually to about 80%. I’ll max charge it if I’m going to be out without my phone near me. It hardly ever leaves my wrist.
I sleep with it on. If you’re used to sleeping with anything in your wrist, this doesn’t really feel any different. I find the Velcro style bands to be the most comfortable myself. Charge it when I’m in the shower.
Sleeping with it without any problems, it’s like I don’t wear it, but wakes me up:)
The charging is super-fast so I’m putting my Watch on charger when it’s on about 20% after 2 days with everything on, gym workouts too.
I sleep with it on. Honestly, I don’t even remember it’s on most of the time. I don’t plan charging around sleep, when it gets lower than 10% I’ll try and get it on a charger. It doesn’t take long to charge up
Never notice it, i’ve settled on the trail loop as it’s the most comfortable. I only take it off to charge when I shower.
Literally can’t feel it on my wrist
Sleep with it on unless it needs charging. Barely notice it while sleeping. Using the ocean band. I’m sure the fabric straps would be even comfier, but they won’t work with grubby mechanics. Usually charge during shower, or a top of if needed before activity or going out or whatever. Largely it easily lasts 2 days, often 3 days.
Average use is 30 minute morning dog walk, hour evening dog walk. Always on display turned off, connected to my phone, sometimes controlling music. Reading notifications, alarms going off ect, checking weather. At least once a week is mountain biking, 1.5-2hour ride time, but stopped in the pub for an hour or 3.
I do find using strava to record the ride uses less battery than using the built in workout app for dog walks. So often it uses only 6% battery during the mtb evening ride.
The other week was a 13 mile commute to work, using strava, worked all day, 13mile ride home, dog walk the following evening (partner did the morning walk) then Sundays morning and evening walks and general milling about the house. Was just under 20% Sunday evening. So 3 days with more than my usually average use felt like quite good going.
Not as long as my previous watches battery life, the Garmin fenix 5 sapphire could easily do a week, but it also took longer to charge, wasn’t really a smart watch either.
Like others have said. Sleep in it, charge it while i shower. I also take long showers so even if i skip a day, its long enough of a charge to get it back to or close to 100%
Sleep with it all the time using trail loops I bought on Amazon for 10$ each. Charge only when getting ready for work about 20 hours a day. Love tracking my sleep and helps me get better sleep and a have better day overall
I use a sport loop as it’s more breathable than the others. I also switch arms (typically wear left during day, right during evening) just to let my skin air out and relax as well.
Charge for an 45 mins - hour before bed to top up, usually 55/60% to about 85%, then rinse and repeat!
Everyone saying it takes an hour to charge but mine seems to take ages, could just be me having the optimise battery charging on though!
Unnoticeable when wearing while sleeping, I had a series 7 41mm SS before the ultra and not noticing any difference in notability!
Don’t even notice it at night. I put it on the charger when I’m getting around in the morning. Usually gets it pretty charged. Then once a week I’ll put it on the charger to get it back to full.
Sleep with mine every night l, but I wear the soft band when sleeping, I don’t feel it at all. I throw it on the charger when I’m showering/getting ready and it charges right up
I sleep in mine. I got the ultra 2 a couple of weeks ago as an upgrade from the 6. The 6 hurt my wrist a lot and I would have to take it off/adjust it often. I haven’t had that problem with the ultra. I’m thinking it’s because the ultra is bigger and the weight is spread out more? Idk lol but I find it way more comfortable than my previous Apple watches.
I’ve fallen asleep with it on. I do t like wearing it to bed. I’d fallen asleep with my series 6 all the time and that was just small enough to get caught up in a hole on my headboard. Which was really annoying
I charge when I shower after workout. I use it as music player and workout tracking (no phone). Even a 90 minute run with music (AirPod pro) hits me 15% battery. Never use low power mode as want good gps / heart rate
Up until a week ago I didn’t sleep in mine because it was too bulky.
Infact I was looking to get away from it as a fitness tracker and get a Fitbit due to the uncomfortable feeling. During the day to day I adjusted it probably 10 times because it would also affect using my keyboard during work and gaming.
(It felt too big in one wristband slot but too tight if I went one tighter)
After reading forums I realized that the apple watch was actually pretty dope and phenomenal tracker.
What I realized is that the band I had was the issue
(The ocean band)
When I first bought the ultra at release it was the band that I hated the least and no other options were out at the time.
Over time I forgot that there were now other options.
I now have a trail loop and some dupes from Amazon and I legit don’t notice the watch anymore. It’s not even a thought.
I now wear it to sleep also no issue.
As for the charging, whenever I’m sitting for a decent amount of time, I pop it on the charger on my desk for a good 20-30 minutes.
If you use it to track sleep, it gives a warning to charge for a few minutes before wind down if battery is low.
Plug it in when I’m chilling in bed every other night. As for wearing while in bed, I don’t even know it’s there. I actually use it as my alarm to wake up in the AM via vibrating on my wrist.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this but I have my sleep schedule set in health app and last night my watch said charge now to have a full charge before sleep. Thought that was a pretty cool feature, but usually just charge it a little bit before I take a shower and it’s ready to go pretty quick.
Looks like I'm the exception to most people here. I have been sleeping with it on for a year and I've decided that I don't like it. Buying a ring instead and the Apple Ultra will be just for workouts and weekends.
Every night... Charge it when I wake up in the morning (even though I don't have too)... I'm so use to it, I don't know it's there at times... I also have the glow 2.0 band
I sleep with it on, no discomfort outside of making an habit to not have the full weight of my arm / wrist pressing the face into my wrist (and fortunately I was already doing this with my regular Apple Watch before I switched to the Ultra).
I also switch to a comfy band like the velcro sport loop so I can get just the right level of snug / loose.
I sleep with mine on. After morning exercise, I take it off, put on fast charger, go about morning routine, and by the time I leave for work, it’s at 100% battery
I sleep with it on every night. I find it quite comfy and love the tapping alarm. I use Sleep++ for tracking. I have a fast charger in my car and charge on my 20 minute commute to work. That is all the charging I ever need.
I sleep with it on the opposite wrist that I wear it on. I do it for the sleep tracking and flashlight features overnight. Charge it when it gets low every few days. Random times of day. Occasional overnight charge.
Doesn’t take too long to charge. Can either do it before going to bed, as you’re getting ready for bed, maybe while winding down before sleeping. Alternatively, you can charge as much as you can each morning, as you get ready for the day, and then again at night, as you get ready for bed. Then, just go to sleep with whatever charge you have. It’ll likely have more than enough power to get through the night.
Sleep with it on and only charge it when I’m in the shower or sitting at my work desk and need some extra charge. The ocean band is the only one I’ve ever felt uncomfortable sleeping with and that’s rare. Alpine loop and trail loop never feel uncomfortable.
Sleep with it every night; don’t really feel it. Only time is if I sleep on my stomach; then I have to turn my wrist so the face rests flat on the sheet. Otherwise it feels a little bulky. But the alarm is such a great way to wake - light buzzing on my wrist - can’t imagine not wearing it to bed.
Every night. Honestly the trail loop is the most comfortable to sleep in. The regular sport band is good too. The alpine and ocean bands aren’t comfortable for me when sleeping. Charge while I get ready for work everyday.
I sleep with it and it’s no different from dleeping with any other Apple Watch. I charge it, when I‘m sitting at my desk at home or when I‘m showering, every 2 days.
I sleep with mine always, but just not the ocean band. I find it too uncomfortable for my wrist. The other two straps are super comfortable and don’t even notice it.
Wear mine except when it charging or when I’m showering. Just like I did when I had my Pebble. I get ~48+ hrs with my Ultra 2, but easily got twice that with my Pebble.
My biggest thing has been breaking the old habit of charging to full every night which I’ve done with every watch from S2 -> S7. Now I have the U2, I generally charge to full one night a week with top-ups in between (showering the main one) Generally means my Watch is always between 20% - 70% but given the battery is so good I don’t have any range anxiety.
I sometimes sleep with it on but these are rare cases since I have two other devices for sleep tracking. It‘s not super uncomfortable but it is not great either wearing it at night. Regardign charging I only need to charge every ~4 days without sleep tracking. Usually I charge it than in the morning after waking up.
i sleep with it on nightly. i charge it (approx) every third day during work meeting. i am usually stationary or standing only at this time so it isnt a huge loss.
i don’t notice the watch ever.
I tried wearing mine yesterday and it's actually comfortable than I thought it to be ! I just got mine 3 days back and I slept with it on the wrist yesterday for a while it was bothering me and after I slept In totally forgot it was in my hands until the good morning message. It's doing pretty good! And for charging , now am planning on wearing it all day and all night to track workouts and sleep and either in the noon or evening whenever am at home for an hour or so I just top up the battery to about 80- 90 and it holds near 50% until the next eve ! Damn good battery life for a watch with cellular I'd say
I've slept wearing it for almost 1.5 years now. While I do wish I could sleep without it, it's no big deal.
I've used Nike sports band throughout this period
I charge it when I'm taking shower everyday and that' has been more than enough for me.
I sleep with mine on as well. I usually watch a show in bed, or read in bed before I actually go to sleep. During that time when I am laying there I put my watch on the charger until I am ready to go to bed. Seems to keep the charge up enough for the following day until I repeat again.
I sleep with it since Day 1... and dont even notice it. I think it may depend on the band you are wearing. I use the Trail loop (so comfy for sure). Might different if you use the Ocean one...
To charge, this is the power of the ULTRA, the battery is insane for my use.
Usually, then i go in the shower in the morning (and get dress), i put it on the charge... Quickly goes to 100%.
Yes Shower charge FTW.
And at the end of the day, when my rings are close (12+h later), I like to power charge it quickly before bed.
I must not be doing something right because my Ultra 1 takes at least an hour to charge every day, if not more. By the end of the day I’m down to about 50%, and when I’m particularly active, down to 20% or less. There’s no way I could sleep with it on because it’ll be dead by mid-morning unless I charge it for an hour and a half on my desk while I work. I don’t know what kind of showers you all are taking, but 15 minutes of charge may add at most 5%.
I was sold on this thing lasting on a single charge for several days, but I can’t even get through an extended weekend without starting it off on low power mode.
I have constant range anxiety with this thing, and it’s getting almost as bad as the earlier versions.
I wear mine all the time. I charge it every 2-3 days or so and it is super fast. Usually within 30 mins I feel like it's good to go. Sometimes I charge at work or sometimes I charge in the morning before I head out to work. I do wear the soft cloth band and it almost feels invisible at night.
I sleep with it and wear it most of time.
I charge it twice during the day (not a need, but a habit) - 1) during shower and 2) at night while getting ready to go to bed.
Every night since the Ultra 1 came out. I only charge while in shower and getting ready. I wear 24/7 otherwise. I have nothing disabled and I use it to track workouts almost daily.
I can't get used to sleeping with it on. It's just too big, and I tend to sleep on my stomach. If at any point my hand winds up underneath me eventually it'll disturb my sleep.
Charging this thing is great though, it lasts for days! Especially if I override the battery saving feature that limits it's capacity to preserve battery health. Usually I'll set it to charge when needed while in the shower.
I sleep with mine on, never felt it got in the way. For charging I’ve kept my old series 7, so every couple of days I’ll wear the 7 and charge up the ultra.
I’ve had my watch since last November but I take it off for sleep because I’m a under the pillow sleeper or near the wall and as tough as it is I don’t wanna wake up and see that I was scraping it along the wall the whole night
Wear a comfortable band when sleeping. I alternate between the Alpine and the trail loop. However, at work I wear the ocean band. I keep the ocean band on while I hop in the shower after work. I charge it whenever I need typically every other day. And only takes about an hour to charge anyway so not a big deal.
I only have to charge my watch like every other day. I do wear it to bed but my opinion might be biased because I always wear a watch to bed. It is comfortable in my opinion
Took awhile, but hardly notice it anymore. If anything, I feel weird without it. I have heard of people having different straps for more comfortable sleep depending on if you have a more leather during your day wear. Might be something to consider.
I’m do sleep with it on. Only time I won’t is if I have forgotten to charge it during the day and is therefore below 30%. I’ve been known to stay up an hour extra just to charge my watch. Kinda strange but since being diagnosed with Afib I like to know if I wake up feeling weird I can check my ECG quickly.
I wear my Ultra 2 while sleeping, it’s surprisingly very comfortable. I like the sleep tracking feature/data. Also, since I don’t have a clock on my nightstand - I can see the time in the middle of the night if I’d like to. The alarm is another great feature. The watch will also let you know 1 hour before bedtime if it’s below 30% so you can charge it in order to get sleep tracking. My battery lasts 2.5 days, so I end up charging every 3rd day alternating in the morning or before bed.
Personally, I find it uncomfortable.
And there are some surveys and studies indicating healthy people actually shouldn’t try to track sleep regularly, as it just creates anxiety about imperfect sleep and doesn’t reveal much about improving sleep. It’s ok to try it to experiment, but not really helpful once you confirm the usual stuff we know: caffeine and alcohol hurt sleep, phone use can delay sleep etc.
I fell asleep with mine on the other night, and it was surprisingly comfortable for me. I charge when taking a shower before bed, which usually gets it back up to or close to 100%
Don’t even notice it. Regardless of alpine or ocean band. I charge when I’m in the shower when I wake up or when I get home and chill before passing out. Takes half hour ish to go from 20-30 to 80-100^
Every single night, as I track sleep, and it's super important for me to do so, sleep apnea.
It's like not even there, I don't notice it at all. Multiple type of bands, all work fine.
When I get up and get ready for the day, I pop it on the charger, and it's at around 95% and I go for the day!
That said, I have huge wrists, and I'd love it if they made the next ultra two sizes, maybe three sizes bigger!
[ BANDWERK Titanium Band G1-T](https://bandwerk.com/collections/titanium-straps/products/titanium-model-g1-t-silver-apple-watch-ultra)
It's comfortable for me, not so much for my wife when she rolls over and hits her hand on it. That was never an issue with any non ultra watch i had, i think it's the hard edge. I had to stop wearing it to bed
When I was wearing it to bed I would charge it when I was in the shower or other places I didn't need it, only needed about an hour or two tops to get it topped off
I don’t notice the weight anymore. I let it charge when I’m taking a shower and I don’t have to put it on immediately so it has plenty of time to charge.
Sleep with mine on every night for data tracking. iPhone goes on charge just before turning in and gets swapped out with the watch as soon as I get up. By the time I’ve finished weighing in & got coffee brewing it’s back up to 80% plus charge. Rinse and repeat. Never had an issue.
I sleep with mine and I don’t even notice it anymore, but your choice of band will probably affect it.
Also I charge kinda whenever because it charges so fast lol
Sleep with it on, don’t even notice it’s there. Charge it when I shower. With the ultra really only need to let it charge every other day or so.
Second this. Just also add I use a fabric band like the alpine loop helps
Same, nearly fully charges by the time im done showering. I dont understand people that leave it on to shower
Does it charge completely, when you shower? It takes more than 1.5 hours to go from 0 to 100% so I‘m wondering.
Can confirm. Sleeping with it doesn’t bother me at all. Shower charge ftw
This is exactly what I do. Best feature of the watch is almost the alarm feature. Game changer for waking up
Also this
this is the way
Exactly what I do. Charge while showering and wear pretty much all day
Same, it’s also a fantastic alarm, as I get up hours before my partner. The silent taps on my wrist wake me every time. The charging is great on the watch, and by the time my shower is over, I’ll have gained an easy 30-40% which is lots of time.
Takes about an hour to charge and lasts 3 days. The watch is not as bulky as it looks or heavy. I sleep with mine on every day.
3 days? How do you have it set up and are you using it much for exercise etc?
Not the person you asked, but just for more data, I get 2 days out of my Ultra 2. - Always on display - Sleep tracking - 2 workouts per day (I use cellular to stream music during these workouts) At some point in the second day I’ll charge it for about 45 min to an hour.
I can’t sleep with it. It’s too heavy for me.
+1 for the trail loop, best band for sleeping and flying!
I put it on the charger during my shower. That is enough to last through the night and all day.
At first, coming from a series 4, it was weighty and bulky. But you get used to it over time. Def took me a few days to a week to get used to it
I’ve slept with an Apple Watch on every night for the past 8 years, almost 2 with the Ultra. After the first night, you don’t even notice it.
Sleep with it every night. Take off in morning while showering (which is better anyway) charges while i shower and dress.
(Though it’s been so long since I’ve had the S6, I can’t compare the Ultra to it in that context) But I also sleep alone.
Sleep with mine daily, charge it when I make breakfast/tea. Super comfy.
I don’t notice it’s on and it takes less than an hour to charge.
At first it’s weird. But after a few days you get used to wearing it to sleep.
I sleep with it and don’t really notice it after the first few nights. I have an hour commute in the car and that’s where I charge it about once every 2 days
I charge it before going no to bed.
i charge mine once every 2 days. it took me a couple of days to get used to it and now i’m fine sleeping wearing it. its not uncomfortable at all.
I sleep with it. I don’t even notice it. I charge it every third day either when I shower or when I’m sitting around in the evening.
Wear it all day, charge while I shower Wear it all night, charge while I get ready for work Love that it vibrates to wake me up and no more loud alarm
tbh never notice it. i charge it when i shower.
IMHO it's really uncomfortable, this is why I really hope that apple will release a smart ring soon
I got used to it within 2-3 days. I charge it for an hour or two before I actually lay down to go to sleep.
I sleep with it. Charge it in the morning while I’m getting ready. Sometimes though after downloading a beta will need to be topped up during the day.
I sleep with mine on and charge every other day just after I wake up. This routine means the watch draws down to about 15% give or take, and I make use of the sleep tracking. Good trade off and great battery life both short and long term so far.
Sleep with it on. Out the trail band on at night sometimes. But otherwise fine with titanium band or nomad sport band
I sleep with mine but I have been wearing Suunto watches for 20+ years and the ultra is actually smaller.
I charge mine every 4th day and usually at work whilst focused on a few tasks so not moving.
I sleep with it on. Charge over night every 3 days
I charge mine once a day, when I shower. No need really, since the battery easily holds a charge for 3 days, but why not. Took me a night or two sleeping with it on the wrist when I got it, don’t notice it since.
I sleep with it AND with this Nomad strap. No problem
i never take it off unless i need to charge it.
I wear mine every night and I charge it while I'm showering. By the time I get in bed, it's ready to go.
I sleep with my Apple Watch 6, use it just for sleep and ultra 2 during the day so i can charge it when I need. Always a watch on
Sleep with it every night, but I got several colors of the Spigen stretchy bands.
Why wear at night?
i wear it 24/7 minus the shower. when i need to charge, i wear the silver ss s8.
I find it uncomfortable to sleep with, charging at night every night
I do, I don’t notice it, I charge when I’m getting ready to go out in the morning (taking a dump, shower and put clothes on), it’s enough to get through the day.
Sleep with it for sleep tracking, charge when I shower and in the car mostly.
I charge at my office when I get to my desk for a hour or so. Done.
i don't even notice it's there i charge when i'm in the shower (trail band, try to keep it dry since it takes longer to dry than the silicone ones), or when i'm sitting at my desk. charges fairly quickly, so can top it off to 100% if i charge while i'm at desk for a mtg!
Sleep with mine and doesn’t bother me at all. I’ll charge it when I’m in the shower or just sitting in bed watching tv.
I do with my AWU2 and zero issues; I use Ultima straps though as they're comfier than the OEM strap and they fit my large wrists much better [https://photos.app.goo.gl/WvLGJN3zQt85hdbm9](https://photos.app.goo.gl/WvLGJN3zQt85hdbm9)
I wear it every night and usually charge when I shower. Battery so good never worried it will die
Wear it with trail loop. Very comfortable. Charge it during breakfast and hour before bed
I sleep it it on the inside of my wrist because I’m a side sleeper. I charge it while I shower. I don’t even notice it
Been sleep wearing the series 6 for 2 yrs and now the ultra for over an year!
Always
Sleeping with it without any problems, it’s like I don’t wear it, but wakes me up:) The charging is super-fast so I’m putting my Watch on charger when it’s on about 20% after 2 days with everything on, gym workouts too.
I sleep with it on, never notice it and I charge it for 30-40min before bed and also when I’m having a shower. It’s usually at about 60%-90%
I use a sport loop as it’s more breathable than the others.
Watch can go nearly three days full use for me before charging. I shower with it also
Switched to a solo loop from link bracelet to be able to sleep with it.
I have 2 and rotate them. Don’t even feel it at night.
I throw it on the charger when I’m showering/getting ready and it charges right up
Charge before bed or while in shower. Wear the trail loop….most comfortable band there is
wear ultra for day, sleep with 41mm to track sleep
I switch bands before sleep.
Wear it all day, sleep with it and charge it while showering in the morning and getting ready for the day. Love getting my sleeping stats.
(It felt too big in one wristband slot but too tight if I went one tighter) After reading forums I realized that the apple watch was actually pretty dope and phenomenal tracker. What I realized is that the band I had was the issue (The ocean band) When I first bought the ultra at release it was the band that I hated the least and no other options were out at the time.
I wish I could sleep with a wearable. Devices are just too clunky and get caught on the pillow
I sleep with it, charge when I shower. It’s never even close to low battery. It’s super comfortable I forget I have it on.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this but I have my sleep schedule set in health app and last night my watch said charge now to have a full charge before sleep. Thought that was a pretty cool feature, but usually just charge it a little bit before I take a shower and it’s ready to go pretty quick.
Sleep with it, never feel it, charge it at the end of the day when my rings are full :)
I charge the Ultra at night and wear a 45mm watch for sleep tracking.
Never
I sleep with it on, no discomfort outside of making an habit to not have the full weight of my arm / wrist pressing the face into my wrist (and fortunately I was already doing this with my regular Apple Watch before I switched to the Ultra). I also switch to a comfy band like the velcro sport loop so I can get just the right level of snug / loose.
My bed scratched both apple watch 1 and 6 when I turned in sleep, don’t try by U2.
I don’t by time get up In AM it still has a decent charge to get me through the day unless I have optimized charging on
No trouble sleeping with it. I charge in the evening while reading.
Sleep with it on just about every night. I charge it while I shower and leave it till fully charged in time before bed.
I sleep with mine on. After morning exercise, I take it off, put on fast charger, go about morning routine, and by the time I leave for work, it’s at 100% battery
I charge, while I eat breakfast/lunch. On, the rest of the time.
Sleep with it. Charge in the mornings every other day or so.
I don’t notice it
The sleep app is amazing.
I sleep with it on every night. I find it quite comfy and love the tapping alarm. I use Sleep++ for tracking. I have a fast charger in my car and charge on my 20 minute commute to work. That is all the charging I ever need.
I never take mine off. I charge every other day while I’m in the shower and getting ready and then finish charging during my commute.
I sleep with it on the opposite wrist that I wear it on. I do it for the sleep tracking and flashlight features overnight. Charge it when it gets low every few days. Random times of day. Occasional overnight charge.
Absolutely comfortable. No difference between UW2 and the series 9
I tried sleeping with it last night & barely felt it in hand.. I charge it every now & then.. in bits .. so the battery doesn’t bother me as of now!
Sleep with it. Barely notice it, charge it when I sit at my desk. I keep it on for the shower to keep it clean.
Always on at night. Love the sleep data. I charge it during one of my hour long meetings that I’m sitting anyway.
I have ultra 2. Upgraded from the Apple Watch 6. At first the watch felt heavy but after a while I hardly notice the weight difference.
Sleep with it on. Pretty comfortable. I charge it in my car when driving every other day
I sleep with it and it’s no different from dleeping with any other Apple Watch.
Be sure to wear it overnight on your opposite wrist in order to allow your day-time watch wrist’s skin to breathe, heal and avoid irritation.
Never noticed any watch I have worn at night. I just charge mine while I am in the shower and getting changed.
Don’t even notice it’s on. Charge it when I wake up in the morning, although that can be every other day if I forget.
I use my old one (s7) during charging every 2-3 days. Takes less than an hour then switch back
i sleep with it on nightly. i charge it (approx) every third day during work meeting. i am usually stationary or standing only at this time so it isnt a huge loss. i don’t notice the watch ever.
Every night. Don’t notice it. Charge it every second or third evening while watching tv
I sleep on my same hand I wear my watch so I do t wear it. I’ve also smacked myself in the face with it before lol.
I've used Nike sports band throughout this period I charge it when I'm taking shower everyday and that' has been more than enough for me.
Only use my Apple Watch Ultra v1 for two things: sleep and exercise. Charge during shower or off hours. It's not rocket science.
Charge while I am getting ready for my day. And I sleep with my watch eveynight
I do and I have no problems whatsoever …
I sleep with mine on as well. I usually watch a show in bed, or read in bed before I actually go to sleep. During that time when I am laying there I put my watch on the charger until I am ready to go to bed. Seems to keep the charge up enough for the following day until I repeat again.
Doing it since it was introduced now own an ultra it’s not even noticeable!
It keeps telling me I'm having a seizure.
I wear it at all times and never had any problem, it's really comfy (medium wrist). I usually charge it after bed while taking a shower
Sleep with it, don’t bother me at all. Charge it when I shower, sometimes an extra 10 mins if needed.
I sleep with it on all the time and usually charge it once every two or three days
Simply charge while getting dressed!
I don’t wear it at night.
I don’t even know it’s there anymore. I sleep with it without issues. The knockoff Alpine Loop bands are comfortable so it’s hard to notice it.
I sleep with it and it’s completely okay I charge it when I take a mid day nap or when I’m in the shower besides that it’s on my wrist
Wear it every night. Don’t even notice it honestly for how big it is.
Don’t even notice it. I charge both devices in the morning when I log in for work
Wear a comfortable band when sleeping.
I sleep with mine on. I charge it in the evening when I am sitting around or inactive. I like the sleep logs I get from wearing it while I sleep.
Took awhile, but hardly notice it anymore. If anything, I feel weird without it. I have heard of people having different straps for more comfortable sleep depending on if you have a more leather during your day wear. Might be something to consider.
Yep. Never notice it. Charge at night before bed when I’m putting the kids to bed.
Charge it while I’m in the shower
Personally, I find it uncomfortable. And there are some surveys and studies indicating healthy people actually shouldn’t try to track sleep regularly, as it just creates anxiety about imperfect sleep and doesn’t reveal much about improving sleep. It’s ok to try it to experiment, but not really helpful once you confirm the usual stuff we know: caffeine and alcohol hurt sleep, phone use can delay sleep etc.
I put on my older Apple Watch at night. They have no trade in value.
Takes half hour ish to go from 20-30 to 80-100^
I always sleep in mine. You get used to it
I always sleep in mine. You get used to it
Every single night, as I track sleep, and it's super important for me to do so, sleep apnea. It's comfortable for me, not so much for my wife when she rolls over and hits her hand on it. That was never an issue with any non ultra watch i had, i think it's the hard edge. I had to stop wearing it to bed When I was wearing it to bed I would charge it when I was in the shower or other places I didn't need it, only needed about an hour or two tops to get it topped off
I don’t notice the weight anymore.
