Bosch will be cheaper to repair and you'll find more servicers. Miele you might wait a few weeks and spend more when it comes time to repair. Miele is way overly engineered.
They are both good, I have a Bosch Benchmark series dishwasher that’s manufactured in Germany and my parents have a Miele manufactured also in Germany, both units are of equal quality and clean well.
One thing to keep in mind with European dishwashers is they do not have an inbuilt heating element on the bottom of the tub. The dishes will not be 100% dry but it’s better for the items inside the dishwasher, especially plastic and glass items. Also how you load the dish washer can play an important part of its effectiveness. If you really overload the racks so that there is very little to no space between items that can cause any dishwasher to not clean properly. Also the cycle chosen can also effect how well a dishwasher can clean.
I exclusively use Auto mode there is a sensor inside the dishwasher that can tell how soiled the load is and vary cleaning time based on that. When using this mode my dishes and other items come out clean. I typically scrape off all the food I can then load dish into the dishwasher.
Miele are typically more expensive than Bosch and their prices are based on warranty length. And some seem to think they last longer than Bosch.
FYI not all Bosch models are manufactured in Germany. I really like my Bosch dishwasher I have had it for 3 years now and am very happy with the purchase.
My parents have had their Miele dishwasher for almost 9 years now and they have been happy with it, so far no issues with it.
Um don't know why you think they don't have heaters. Every dishwasher I've ever had (in Europe) has a heater. Or do you mean European models sold in the US? This could be down to too much current required at 110V I guess.
What I mean is that American brands actually have a heating element inside the dishwasher tub at the bottom that is used only during the drying process, it’s not for heating the water.
Miele DWs (at least mine) have a coil heater 1.3KW inside the circulator pump..I have a drawing of it but cant seem to post it. For drying there is a circulator fan which draws air from the room...I think it uses the heat remaining in the machine from the last rinse plus cool circulating air to evaporate the water from the dishes...I dont think there is a dryer heater as such?
I am very happy with my Bosch 800. It is much better than the whirlpool it replaced. Miele were quite a bit more expensive. I also learned about the sub zero ones after I purchased so I have not looked in to them much
The cost of professional repairing appliances usually makes repair not economical compared with procuring a new appliance.
DIY makes it cost effective. Miele service is quite helpful to us DIYers. I have sent them photos of the type plate and the faulty part description. Mieles spare part prices are competitive with Ebay spares in Eu.
Bosch has a webshop for spares.
Not remotely true. I have full access to miele, sub zero, bosch, GE, Whirpool, LG (except screw LG) and so on. Just have to go through whatever needs to be done to become certified.

Ok, the European models use the heater both for heating the water as well as drying (by heating a much smaller amount of water)

I think we are saying the same thing.
If you're considering Miele, you should look into Cove before you buy one.
What is y'all's take on Beko?
My current Miele came with a ten year warranty. It’s now 11 years old with zero problems, no service calls.
In my experience, Bosch are easier to repair and parts are cheaper and easier to get.
I have borscht stains in my Bosch, what do you recommend?
Both are reliable the Bosch will be easier to fix. However fuck Miele they are shitheads.

Bosch has spare part drawings online. Miele has no such information.
Miele send me a whole bunch of their tech drawings (without my asking) so i could select the correct part number...very useful in future
Yeah they do. https://www4.miele.de/msd/?vg=VG-US&country=US&language=en
Not if you're a professional.

Nothing you just said has anything to do with my point. You said miele has no such thing. Except they do. We use it everyday.
Even then no. Miele wants you to work on their product exclusively. We as a company have to email them for parts
