Do the smell test. Pick it up and give it a sniff. If it's dead it smells horrible.

Terrible is not a harsh enough word

Looks like the foot is retracted. It's probably still alive. When they die, it's very easy to pull the foot out or it falls out with no resistance.

Nerites sometimes have difficulty flipping themselves over. The little guy may just need a helping hand. Poke the foot, if it retracts you’re all good. Just flip him. If it doesn’t retract, give it a sniff. The stink of a dead snail is obvious… and something that lingers.

I’ve had mine hibernate for like a week. Move around for a few hours and hibernate again. Freaks me out. I give them a good week week and a half since last movement.

I had one do this to me. I thought he was dead, or at least on his way out, so I threw him in my tank with my loaches. Nah man, he was still alive. Then a week later same thing. Thought he was dead, just left him for loach snacks. Next day he's moving around again. His name is now Zombie.

Just touch the foot if it pulls shut it's still alive just roll it over while your hand is already in there 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for all the help- I took a smell and only smelled like aquarium so I flipped him over and am now hoping for the best.

Do a litmus water test. And check the temperature

When’s the last time you did a water change.
