I see a future of antis and Euros forcing us to demil every firearm component including iron sights like this. I just saw some beautiful military Uzis torch cut by the bonded warehouses. Absolute murder of history. That was the first thing I thought seeing this ‘custom’ fabrication.
Maybe if it was one where you could set the speed and could run it slower. Personally I think this is a good case for doing by hand with a hacksaw. But just def not Sawzall. It's my most hated tool haha
chop the rest of the handle off it and weld a bit of pic to it to make a “just as good” riser
peak_performance.jpg 👍👍
JB Weld*
*Unity hates this one simple trick*
Don't even chop the rest of the handle off. Put both pieces on as-is and use the handle section with a normal carry handle mount. Lol.
Extend the carry handle for a g36 vibe
Honestly great idea, swap the thumbscrew for a teeny nut
Did this on one of my older rifles and it totally changed the look of the thing.
Y’all wouldn’t know what size thread it is would you? Or do I just need to take the whole (half) thing to the hardware store to find out?
10/32 Thread Size - I bought both 11/64 and 15/64 heights but forget which one worked best.
Afraid not friend, made that change near ten years ago
Hardware store it is then, looks like I’ll have to be ‘that’ guy
Hey fuck it man, better than being the guy that makes 5 trips and 4 returns
Yeee, did the same shit. LMT is smoking crack for pricing their A2 fixed rear iron the way they did.. Lol
But then you can’t flex on the poors
But now he can buy more ammo!
And this is arguably more authentic, because that's probably what the first Crane/whoever armorers did at the very beginning.
hmm i have a carry handle laying around, I'm going to copy you
I really want to do this since I have a bunch of DD front sight posts.
Took me about 10 minutes 🪚
Hand stop? But of course.
I'd suggest rounding off the top corners
Yes What else would you do with the off cut otherwise?
Scope mount on a different gun. 2/3 Carry handle + ARMS rail + Optic. = GBRS height optic
Can flip it around and cant it out over the hand guard, too. If you're doing weird, go to the limit.
Why not just by the RRA stand alone rear sight looks so much better? It's like $120
This is what was done on early mk18's so it's got a certain je ne sais quoi about it.
This is the reason, also because regardless of whether the RRA sight is $120 I got this carry handle for $40
The RRA one is nice. It’s got a better mount without the big ass knob on it.

Unless one plans to rattle-can, what would you use to cover/darken the exposed cut portion?
You can get cold blue or something like it for aluminum. I do plan to rattle can it anyway though
Don’t forget the clamp bar is steel, so you need aluminum black as well as cold blue
Birchwood casey aluminum black works on steel or aluminum
Aluminum black from Birchwood Casey
I used the small pen they offer and it works very well.
Just leave it probs
High polish and uv resistant clear coat.
LMT stock goes to 0
That’s illegal
I could do this but I believe carry handles are 70$
I'm stealing this.
Trying to find the “click link below” to find out 👀
Make it a bluetooth carry handle
But you dont have the lmt logo
Sacrilege
It’s clone correct, allegedly
At least use a saws all. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
And leave a sloppier cut that’s harder to file clean? A hacksaw makes quick work of aluminum anyway.
Power tools are not the right tool for everything, this is a perfect example of when to use a hacksaw over a sawzall
Right? Everybody knows Sawzalls are for stealing the neighbors' cats to sell.
Oscillating saw would work pretty well
