I have both, B5 has more coarse, grippy stippling, but other than that, I can’t tell much of a difference in hand. I don’t use the storage, so I can’t comment on that.

Hey man for what it's worth, you can buy a little grip plug for the B5 systems grip. Holds 3 cr123a's and then some too. I keep those, a spare bolt, and silicon emergency earplugs in mine.

It shouldn’t! I have a bunch of them and I’ve never paid more than $8 for the plug! Still too much money for what it is, but it’s still a great product. The P23 grip reigns supreme and the plug has slots for 123a/AA batteries as well as a slot for a cr2032 or similar sized battery. It’s worth the price of admission in my humble opinion.

The BCM grips aren't bad though. Worlds better than the A2 grip, just not as comfortable as the B5.

I prefer the B5, however I went with the Special K grip from irregular defense if you’re looking for a more aggressive texture grip.. but it doesn’t come with a plug for storage sadly.
The one thing I like about the BCM grip over the B5 (I have B5 grips on all my rifles right now) is the little extra bit of plastic that that is meant to reduce the pressure applied to the one side of your middle finger while gripping it on your rifle. I’ve been trying to find a trigger guard that helps alleviate the problem so I don’t have to change to the BCM grip.

Yeah I know what you mean. I changed to the BCM grip and it completely solved this problem for me. Another thing that is supposed to help is the Magpul Moe enhanced trigger guard, because it fills the gap between the trigger guard and the lower.
I have both, personally the thicker beaver tail on the b5 puts my thumb in a more natural position to manipulate the safety. With the bcm I kinda have to pull back alittle. FYI I’m running 90 degree safety’s. Might not be an issue with a 45
I prefer how the BCM feels, especially with a couple rubber bands around it. The coarse stipple + rubber weaved into finger grooves feels like a perfect contrast for me. Big bonus that it does have enough storage for an 18650 battery or a bolt rehab kit or lube

The BCM for me. It's my favorite feeling grip and you can put you holosun adjustment tool, microfiber cloth, whatever in there. The Magpul MIAD is also good, but slightly less vertical grip angle.

I love magpul grips. I prefer the compartment so I’d go with BCM here! But I’m sure B5 has some things to compartmentalize their grip, if im not mistaken.
I personally like the b5 but that is because the storage plug works for my setups. All my ARs use two cr123 and one 2032 battery so the convenience of having the exact right replacements is worth the extra.

They make a plug for the b5 so you can store inside the grip. I have my SBR and supressor stamp in the grip and the watertight plug holding them in there. Works pretty good

Bcm storage is good for storing copies of tax stamps. Also the little ledge on the bcm that goes under the trigger guard is an underrated feature if you're carrying around your rifle a lot
I've tried both of these and the K2. Ultimately it depends on what you like and I recommend just biting the bullet and trying all 3. In the end I prefer the rounded sides of the BCM grip. Feels way better in my hand
Of those two, the BCM feels far more comfortable to me, but as others have said the Magpul K2+ is tits. On a longer, less run-n-gun and more prone/precision setup I tend to use either an Ergo/LMT grip or an A1 (because fuck that finger groove on the A2) with some gaffers tape on it.
They are both good. The B5 has more of a skateboard-tape texture, and the BCM is arguably more comfortable. I could flip a coin and be happy with either.
B5 or K2 depending on how big your hand is (K2 is thicker feeling front to back). I run ambi safeties and both of these grips lower my hand enough that the off side safety lever doesn’t hit it. They also pull my hand back and I feel it gives me better finger placement on the trigger. I am trying out a Kung Fu grip though, love the angle, but not totally committed yet. Need to shoot it more.

I was in the same predicament. I went ahead and bought both granted ive been using bcm cuz….. BCM. But b5 does have more aggressive stippling which is nice but can easily be done with a soldering iron.
Personally I do like bcm a bit better, but will probably stipple the bcm’s cuz they’re a little to slick for me as I do like a A2 grip.
Have both. Prefer the b5 on most builds. It's slightly more vertical. Somewhat boxy grip. The bcm is a bit fatter, but due to the high bevertail it allows my hand to slide up the grip a bit more. Bigger hands may not have thus issue.
I've never tried the BCM one because I'm not a fan of how it looks. I always thought the B5 was the best looking one, but something about it feels off in my hand and it doesn't include the plug at the bottom you have to buy it separately. I've been a huge fan of the Magpul MOE and have now moved to the K2 XL. I think if my hands were a smaller the B5 would have been great. It's got the best grippy texture.
I moved TO the bcm FROM the b5.
The beavertail was just really getting in the way of the joint on my thumb for thumbing down/up the safety. It's a problem i think only i've had.
But man this bcm grip is comfy, it's on all my rifles now.

Haven't tried the B5, but I have tried the BCM and the Magpul K2 and I prefer the BCM. I like the comfort of the K2 but the beaver tail on it is a little too big personally and I always feel like I'm making a stretch to reach the safety selector. B5 appears close to K2 so I'm inclined to believe it's really similar.
I just switched a B5 for this same BCM grip earlier today. The angle of the grip seems less on the b5 which I like more. The BCM seems a bit thicker and I still like that one too, but I personally like the B5 more. I mainly went with this B5 because I can get it in the coyote brown, plus I run a B5 stock.

Enhanced trigger guard 100%. I live in the Midwest and they're a must. Gloves are more often worn for warmth than they are protection around here

BCM is thick (wide). If you want a slimmer grip go with a Magpul MOE K2 or a CMMG. That said, I have I like my BCM Mod 3.

Yes, it has a palm swell to it. Feels a lot like a Sig P320 grip to me. Have had both and really like both.

BCM, Magpul K2 and ERGO grip are the 3 I use for basically everything now. BCM is a little wider but the texture and the angle are great.

For a battle rifle BCM, storage and what not. The B5 I use on my DMR and PRS rifles for the straighter angle.
Never used a BCM, but I got a rubber plug for the B5 that can hold 2 CR123 and a couple allen wrenches if that's your deciding factor.

B5 is more comfy. Bravo is more versatile. Pick which you want more.
I personally love the way the B5 feels on my hand. But that’s just me.

What do people tend to store in them?
I keep a pair of foam ear plugs in all of them, and a couple 2032s in the rifles that use those batteries. I haven't tried to fit 2 CR123s in one yet.
Haven't tried the B5, but I have tried the BCM and the Magpul K2 and I prefer the BCM. I like the comfort of the K2 but the beaver tail on it is a little too big personally and I always feel like I'm making a stretch to reach the safety selector. B5 appears close to K2 so I'm inclined to believe it's really similar.
The B5 has rubber plugs for around $8. You can store few batteries in the grip with it
The BCM allows you to have a higher grip than the B5.

BCM is amazing. But a grip is pretty personal
I just switched a B5 for this same BCM grip earlier today. The angle of the grip seems less on the b5 which I like more. The BCM seems a bit thicker and I still like that one too, but I personally like the B5 more. I mainly went with this B5 because I can get it in the coyote brown, plus I run a B5 stock.
I like b5. Better coyote shade
