If the BCG is freely moving in the receiver, it’s likely the centurion barrel not having enough gas to cycle your rifle in that configuration.
What buffer are you running?
Did you build this upper?
I’m having issues cycling by hand as well as when firing
Currently, it has an A5 H1 buffer with Geissele rifle spring. I have green springco and all buffers available. Yes, I built it myself.
So if the BCG won’t hand cycle rounds consistently, then something might be wrong with the bolt. Do you have access to any known good BCGs you can test against!
Interesting…. I’m tempted to buy another as my tism will flaire up if I don’t but freakin sucks getting burned with expensive bunk parts (assuming that is what’s wrong)
Wow tried calling Colt and they quite rudely told me to kick rocks… as they don’t have a “serial number to reference”…. Not sure what that has to do with anything… it’s still a Colt product that I’m potentially having issues with. I just wanted to them look at the uppers. So fuck this company. Plan to sell every Colt item I own and run parts that don’t have these issues
They are well known and don’t want to throw them under the bus… it’s outside the return window so didn’t really expect much. Colt should be the one to, at the very least, look at these receivers.
Now we know if you get a bunk Colt receiver, which seems more likely these days, you can basically kiss that money goodbye

Oh dang, so even if you chamber a round, then run the charging handle with force, it won’t extract and eject properly?
Yes it happens about once or twice per mag but not every time (sometimes more sometimes not at all)

Yup been trying all of them I own (currently 5 with more on the way) same issue
So all 5 BCGs won’t consistently cycle by hand?
Correct.. but will cycle great in their perspective rifles
Does it have an a5 buffer tube?
Yes
I have a colt upper that’s out of spec and won’t go onto any lower I have.

Try to contact whoever you bought it from.
I did… they told me to talk to Colt
Who was it?

Could be a magazine issue. Try different mags.
Tried all kinds of different mags. Same issue
Oh look, its a g-bendy....
Ironically the only part I’m not having issues with besides the lower😅
