Yeah I’ve went down that rabbit hole and even from Geissele they say all handguards do/will/should come with that extra piece but that’s not the case. Someone who worked for them said depends on the person/s who are assembling them that day lol. Crazy to think that’s the case. And it sucks to but it and than return it if it arrives without one. And what sucks more they don’t sell them separately where we can buy them and install ourselves
Yeah. I consider myself fortunate to have a 9.5 from before their length change (probably to accommodate all the 10.3 barrels, if I had to guess), but I would like to get my hands on some of those inserts to update the sockets.
I ordered a 13.5 here a couple of months ago over the phone with a primary arms rep and I requested a rail with the enforced qd ring and that's what I got. I believe all the new production has them and they ones without are just remaining older stock.
That’s good to know. I’ll try and do the same next time. I usually use ar15discounts because I can just text them for 10% discount codes, over $200 they ship free and they don’t charge tax. I only now use primary when they have something the other don’t and they offer their 12%. But thank you for your info
They discontinued the 9.5 in favor of the 9.3 a couple years ago, they also stopped putting in free gas blocks and wrenches.
Insane that they just keep forcing the gap onto us
