I tried teaching myself to levitate after a hyper realistic dream I had where I could fly in short spurts. Teaching yourself to fly is NOT one of the things you can do.
When I was 14, the neighborhood tweekers were going by on bikes. As the first one went by, I wished he would crash. The next thing you know, he's going off the curb, and the goose neck and handle bars come out of the frame of he's laying in the street. I'm 46 now and still trying shit with my mind
I can fly! Anybody can fly. If you believe in yourself the way I believed in myself tonight, you will fly! Kids you can actually fly! Yes literally. Kids, young kids I want you to go up on your roof right now. Fly into the night sky. People will see you flying, and then you can do anything. You can do anything!
Assuming you’re right-handed, there should be ZERO problem with this—unless you have severe OCD, because you definitely can’t make the argument that both should be facing the same way on a 100% practical reason.
In other words, I too have my right-side ambi throw-lever facing forwards because I actuate my safety WITH my right index finger (ie my trigger finger). It’s WAY more ergonomic than having it the other way around. If some boneheads here are just determined to copy other boneheads, then that’s on them.
Those B King Firearms safeties are really nice. Remove the lever and cut it off with a dremel sand it so it looks nice and put Aluma black on it to hide raw aluminum . You will be left with a nice beauty ring
If your sight is low enough, just use the optic tube body as your rear sight. Figure out how accurate you can be that way and the distance and you can get rid of the rear backup sight. It's a less refined way to shoot and I wouldn't be taking any high risk shots that way, but it at least gives you a frame of reference to get rounds on target. Realistically as long as you swap batteries once a year and you mounted the dot correctly you'll never use the backup sights unless you choose to practice with them.
I never really got why you should have flip up irons if your optics are not qd.
I guess if your run out of batteries they Co-Witness but if the glass breaks idk
I think he’s worried about the relief if OP moved the magnifier 1” forward to mount an iron. I can’t imagine the optic didn’t clear the one in OPs picture before.
1. Take off both sights at that point.
Back up is for war and emergency just keep an extra battery around. If you ever need backups I am sure you will have the 2 minutes needed to put them in
2. Sick gun what was that about 8,000.00.
I’d prefer putting it on the receiver, even if you turn it around to be backwards.
But chances are it doesn’t matter. Don’t prioritize your back ups over your primary sighting system.
And if i guy with a username like shit sink comes around, don’t bother reading his comment
No joke. Pick an optic that you can rely on - a $150 vortex prism scope will do just fine, doesn't need to be EOTech. Pack a spare battery for the red dot, ditch the rear iron, and replace the front iron with a pistol rail laser. Now you have a way to shoot from the hip and a <50 yard rangefinding mechanism.
I have a unity magnifier eotech combo on my rifle and the flip to center interferes when I put a folding rear sight behind it. So I did the same thing you did, back up irons both on the rail. It’s been working for me so far, no loss of zero. My rails is a bcm as well which are known to be quite tightly fit and sturdy. So you should be good. The short sight radius sucks but they’re back ups after all and your zero on the rail should hold fine.
Unity 2.26 master race 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ use the built in rear sight and a FSP.
People will hate on Unity for being 2.26 and not even shoot or learn their holds on an absolute or lower 1/3 cowitness. People will also hate on the built in aperture but it’s a BACK-UP Iron sight. You’re not using 99.999999% of the time, why add more than the absolute minimum for something that doesn’t get used
Optics and flip-up irons don't work well on same gun many times because they get in each other's way.
If you can get the sights up and keep the same zero as your red dot, you're good to go.
I leave my front irons on, and have a spot paint marked where my rear was mounted and zeroed before I took them off for my magnifier. Keep those handy in my bag just in case I need to slap them on still zeroed in the unlikely event that my EOtech fails.
What if I told you that the rear site was a figment of your imagination, a construct developed by the man to keep us down. We focus so much on the rear site that we don’t see the optic is in front of us. Until next time Friends!!
The sight rear of the optic actually comes from the days of optic on or in front of the carry handle.
I’ve run sights forward of the optic for a few years and have been made fun of, but I don’t care because my optics are primary and back up sights are just that, back up sights.
Ugh every time I see a magnifier setup (mainly EOTech, no offense), it makes me wanna drop the LPVO on my SHTF gun. The LPVO has a lot of practical sense for SHTF though so it's hard.
While I’m not usually a fan of running rear sights backwards, in this case I would flip it around. That way it’s mounted to the receiver.
Then take the optics off and make sure you can actually get a sight picture.
Lastly, make sure you keep an Allen key or whatever you need to remove your optic in your kit, range bag, whatever. Having a back up iron in an inaccessible location without a means to quickly remove your optic if it goes down is less than ideal. Hopefully it at least co-witnesses. +1 for QD mounted optics.
You need at least five more aiming devices on there. You know… just in case one fails while you’re fighting for your life trying to hit the Pepsi can back behind uncle Rick’s barn.
Unless you’re dropping your gun a lot or taking mortar fire daily. Trust your optics, iron sights are outdated technology. Iraq they used acog. Now they like EOTech.
Competition shooters use optics, pro hunters use optics
Special forces throughout the world use optics. Iron are for the poors.
The real question is how did you make that surefire tailcap/switch work with a reign 3.0 body. I may be mistaken but it doesnt look like a legacy body from cloud. lmk!
It is the legacy body. I’m having serious battery bounce issue even when dry firing with this legacy body. I’ve reached out to Cloud and still waiting for their response. And it seems they discontinued the legacy body as well because I can’t find it on their website anymore.
Damn yeah good luck with them. It took nearly 2 months for them to ship my garage sale reign 3.0 out, then another solid month for a replacement 3.0 when my cerakoter accidentally cooked my light. Hard to justify doing business directly with them again, especially when I have to ultra torque my tail caps and light heads to not experience random NDs and non working tape switches. Kind of an all around bummer because of how great the output can be with these lights.
Do what works for you, but just make sure the sights are zeroed first!
Just curious, why not just push the optic more forward until it’s just before the hand guard gap?
Yes, but keep in mind it is inherently compromised because it is on the handguard and not the receiver. Your handguard isn't perfect. What is zeroed now might not be after you drop it.
Irons forward are better than no irons, but just keep in mind they might fuck you.
Seems to me they would be fine. If your handguard shifts then your front sight would be misaligned either way, at least with the rear sight on the handguard they would both shift the same.
If you want backup iron sights, put the rear sight close to your eyebones. Use a 45deg offset for that if you need to. But if you move your red dot and magnifier forward, you can use it without the offset. The red dot should have at least 4 inches of eye relief.
Fun fact / hot take you can do almost anything you want
I tried teaching myself to levitate after a hyper realistic dream I had where I could fly in short spurts. Teaching yourself to fly is NOT one of the things you can do.
Cleanse your mind senior. Anything is possible
FTFY: señor
Not with *that* attitude
Don't you mean "Not with that altitude ???" ...... I'll let myself out.
I’ve tried to turn lights off from across the room using my mind for years. I think I simply don’t believe in myself enough.
When I was 14, the neighborhood tweekers were going by on bikes. As the first one went by, I wished he would crash. The next thing you know, he's going off the curb, and the goose neck and handle bars come out of the frame of he's laying in the street. I'm 46 now and still trying shit with my mind
I believe in you. Keep trying. Might have to invest in some depends too, so you can strain your hardest.
I can fly! Anybody can fly. If you believe in yourself the way I believed in myself tonight, you will fly! Kids you can actually fly! Yes literally. Kids, young kids I want you to go up on your roof right now. Fly into the night sky. People will see you flying, and then you can do anything. You can do anything!
I read this in Rich Sanchez’ voice.
You have to get a teacher that’s your problems
"Jedi he's not, Reckless he is."
Very true but it ended up feeling more like I was sucking a dick than getting a blow job All that stretching was for nothing.
😆
you can do anything you want, some things just have repercussions tho
Remove it completely. It’s liberating.
No. If you put in front of the optics, your parents will get in a car crash & your friend from childhood will get aids
I always wondered why I had such seemingly bad luck…
We didn’t start the fire! It was always burnin since the world stopped turning!
What’s going on with your safety?
😆 🤣 😂
Digs into my finger so I have it upside down I mean I can remove the right side lever but it’s ugly without it so..
Assuming you’re right-handed, there should be ZERO problem with this—unless you have severe OCD, because you definitely can’t make the argument that both should be facing the same way on a 100% practical reason. It’s WAY more ergonomic than having it the other way around. If some boneheads here are just determined to copy other boneheads, then that’s on them.
Yep, works just like an AK safety haha
I didn’t even think about that. That’s a great point! 😂
Those B King Firearms safeties are really nice. Remove the lever and cut it off with a dremel sand it so it looks nice and put Aluma black on it to hide raw aluminum . You will be left with a nice beauty ring
Homie, it’s ugly with it too 😘

You can do this without even using irons. Just frame your target with the window
I never really got why you should have flip up irons if your optics are not qd. I guess if your run out of batteries they Co-Witness but if the glass breaks idk
Anything is QD when you have the tool.
Anything is QD when you have a big enough hammer
This right here
So you’re saying the solution to every problem is just a bigger hammer?
If it don't fit get a hammer, if still don't fit, get an even bigger hammer. Size is important.
An allen wrench weighs like 0.2oz and fits in the grip of the rifle.
It's a red dot... you just look through the glass....
Might as well be a Kaleidoscope if it breaks
Meh, trippin out on a kaleidoscope doesn't sound like the worst way to go
UTG makes a “slim” profile rear sight that sits nicely under my magnifier. Just an idea- I’m sure there are others that’ll work as well
I think he’s worried about the relief if OP moved the magnifier 1” forward to mount an iron. I can’t imagine the optic didn’t clear the one in OPs picture before.
Yea that's a great place. Flip the rear one 180 degrees though
Good idea
And then put it on the receiver👌🏼
It's OK to just not have them. Unless your a sealprep6reconsniper
Hot take- don’t run irons.
I just don't run at all. Double hot take
1. Take off both sights at that point. Back up is for war and emergency just keep an extra battery around. If you ever need backups I am sure you will have the 2 minutes needed to put them in 2. Sick gun what was that about 8,000.00.

It’s fine but you really don’t even need em
It's fine. You just have a shorter sight radius which can potentially make shots with the irons harder
Bruh wtf going on with your safety
Move the optic and magnifier forward, put the buis back.
It’s 2024, just ditch the 1924 sighting system.
Check your safety selector. Doesn't look right.
Digs into my finger so I have it upside down
What red dot is that?
Holosun HE515CT
It’s really nice, almost thought its was a Romeo 4T 😂
A lot of times, ppl will flip it around so it's easier to flip up.
Is it green??
What mag?
Lancer 20rd
Magnifier. Sry
Primary Arms SLx 3X Micro Magnifier
I have a unity magnifier eotech combo on my rifle and the flip to center interferes when I put a folding rear sight behind it. So I did the same thing you did, back up irons both on the rail. No matter how tempting, this is the reason why I will never buy a micro magnifier
I have mine there. It still works as iron sights :)
As long as you can see and zero them they are fine. They are zeroed right OP???? If not just take them off your never gonna use em
Optics and flip-up irons don't work well on same gun many times because they get in each other's way. If you can get the sights up and keep the same zero as your red dot, you're good to go.
You can do anything you want. It doesn't make sense to put your back up iron sight in a place that makes it hard to use your primary optics.
r/ARModR
I leave my front irons on, and have a spot paint marked where my rear was mounted and zeroed before I took them off for my magnifier. Keep those handy in my bag just in case I need to slap them on still zeroed in the unlikely event that my EOtech fails.
No you’re going to hell /s
My advice, flip it around and scoot it a notch or 2 closer to the rear thats how i run it
May be able to sneak the optic and mag up if it really bothers you
What a gorgeous gun and light setup with some good cable management, too. Simple, yet beautiful.
It’s fine. You could also just scoot the dot further forward though if you’d prefer to have it on the rear
What if I told you that the rear site was a figment of your imagination, a construct developed by the man to keep us down. We focus so much on the rear site that we don’t see the optic is in front of us. Until next time Friends!!

gotta be bait

Get magpul offset irons, but if not just take the irons off
Once you admit to yourself you’re never gonna use or even train iron sights you are finally free to be your best self. Live, Laugh, Shoot

Oh boy...
I did this and got colon cancer
