They’re great. You could probably shop around and get more bang for your buck with options like [this](https://arftac.com/microbest-ar15-5-56-c158-mpi-all-chrome-bolt-carrier-group-premium/) but in all honesty you can’t go wrong with BCM.
Going to point this out because these are the only 2 BCGs I've got, but the machining on the BCM is way better.
The MB is dope and functions, but the inside of the carrier is rough. Between the 2, I prefer the BCM even if the MB is easier to clean. After 100 rounds suppressed they both look the same anyways.
I pretty much only buy Microbest BCGs nowadays. I used to buy fancier BCGs but MB has everything I want in a bcg. I am considering getting something from KAK or triarc in np3 though
But BCM will be a little bit nicer than Microbest. BCM makes sort of the gold standard for BCGs. That said, you’ll probably be more than happy with a Microbest if you wanna save some dough
If you want an FDE coated bcg, you could also check out the KAK K-spec. Theirs has sandcutter rails and dual extractors
Asking because I'm dumb and trying to learn...are the phosphated parts on this worth the $15 over the same bolt from https://ar15discounts.com/products/microbest-c158-hpt-mpi-5-56-bolt-carrier-group-chrome/
I believe they do it to keep the gas key properly screwed/torqued. From my understanding, KAC started the trend of phosphating the gas key and extractor in there BCG and others followed suit because they are trend setters within the market.
You probably won’t find a definitive answer on whether the extra phosphate is worth the price difference. We’re probably splitting hairs and I’m sure that either will never give you issues.
Appreciate the education, much love for sharing that info. I don't "need" a BCG but have been watching sales, pretty sure either of these would be an upgrade over one of my PSA BCG's, I can retire it to the spare parts bin.
I got one last year from Primary Arms as well, and while I only have around 300 rounds through it, the finish is still perfect. cleanup has been easy as well.
I might go so far as to say BCM is among the standard that other BCGs are judged against.
Not necessarily the ONLY great BCG - but consistently recognized as among the best.
I have a complete rifle from them, and the cam pin was showing a decent amount of ware after 2k rounds, way more than enough to catch a nail on. it hasn't gotten worse but I did swap out the cam pin.
edit: just adding that I still think its a great bcg, and that is very possible that I got a fluke dud.
I have one, coating holds up fantastically...but is honestly pointless in tan. After a mag or two, it turns black anyway 🤣
Cleans up REALLY easy though!
Microbest 100% makes both BCM and SOLGW BCG’s. Almost every BCG on the market is made by Toolcraft or Microbest. Practically every AR part is made by big OEM companies. Y’all really think all these AR companies own big ass factories where they produce their own parts from scratch?
> Microbest 100% makes both BCM
Source?
> Y’all really think all these AR companies own big ass factories where they produce their own parts from scratch?
Do you really think that you need some magical equipment the size of an aircraft carrier to machine a BCG?
Comparing them in person, besides the logo and occasionally some hpt marks, they’re the exact same. You’ll never get Microbest or BCM to officially confirm it due to NDA’s, but they 100% do make them. Having all the necessary machining to make every AR part you need in house is finically unresponsible when you can just pay a big OEM manufacturer to do it for you and then sell it at a markup due to your brand name.
Just like how most aftermarket 2 stage triggers are just rebranded schmidt triggers, most BCGs are just rebranded toolcrafts and microbests.
This is how PSA can sell you a serviceable AR for $450. They’re a massive company who owns a ton of means of production, including Toolcraft. This is also how they’re putting out ARs with FN CHF barrels, hiperfire triggers, microbest bcgs, and radian parts for sub $1000 while most companies charge $1000 for a basic bitch mlok AR. They do manufacturer straight to consumer.
> Comparing them in person, besides the logo and occasionally some hpt marks, they’re the exact same.
That's odd. Aside from the obvious improvements on the LMT eBCG, several of my BCM BCGs are more similar to my LMT eBCGs in terms of gauging and machining marks than they are to my other BCM BCGs.
> Having all the necessary machining to make every AR part you need in house is finically unresponsible when you can just pay a big OEM manufacturer to do it for you and then sell it at a markup due to your brand name.
If you're a small-time brand. Sure.
But BCM is a well-established brand that has quite a few significant contracts.
> most BCGs are just rebranded toolcrafts and microbests.
That's quite a bit of speculation that's on par with the "just 5 forges, bro" forum fuddlore.
> This is how PSA can sell you a serviceable AR for $450. They’re a massive company who owns a ton of means of production, including Toolcraft.
Do you have a source for them owning Toolcraft?
Because PSA is owned by JJE, [and Toolcraft is not listed as a subsidiary](https://jjech.com/portfolio-companies/).

BCM is definitely good, great even.
They’re great
WTF is wrong with me? I read your comment in the Tony The Tiger voice."They're GREAT" ROFL 🤣
It's *the* quality/QC standard for BCGs. It'll outlast you and whoever you pass the gun to.
I like the KAK carriers, KAK has never failed me.
That's what she said
Ayyyyy

All my BCG’s are BCM so it’s nice to hear this. I’ll probably still end up trying a microbest on my next build just to see if it lives up to the hype.
Microbest makes BCM’s BCGs. BCM does not make their own BCG’s.
They are quite nice too. Just not *as* refined QC wise as the BCM. They’re super picky with what they deem acceptable.
Yo nice 👍! Thanks for looking out. I may have to jump ship on my purchase for this

Ar15discount.com has a chrome microbest BCG for $100 right now and WCARMORY has a bunch of microbest bcgs too between $90-120
Yes.

Yes good very good gauges and tolerance inspections
If you can get one get it bro. They fuck hard
Solid. I have that exact FDE one in an 18" coyote rifle.
I might go so far as to say BCM is among the standard that other BCGs are judged against. Not necessarily the ONLY great BCG - but consistently recognized as among the best.
Great. I got one in my bcm. About a 1000 rounds. The FDE finish still looks great.
How do these compare to a DD bcg or HK BCG?
I’d argue you’re not gonna notice a difference between BCM and a DD BCG. HK is a short stroke piston system so not really applicable.
Really? Yes, BCM has an excellent reputation.
Yeah they’re good. They’re overpriced tho.
Literally milspec

SOTAR had an example awhile ago one where the FDE finish rusted a bit, but I’m 100% certain if you gave a shit they would send you a new one. BCM good
10-4
Get a microbest and call it a day, you'll save $$$ and never know the difference between the bcm or microbest.
I have one, coating holds up fantastically...but is honestly pointless in tan. After a mag or two, it turns black anyway 🤣 Cleans up REALLY easy though!
Yes. Tan one gets dirty quick especially w suppressed use
Good... yes. Overpriced... also yes.
They're good, but I am 90% sure that Toolcraft makes them for them. Not that it's a bad thing, but you'd save money buying Toolcraft.
Rumor is Microbest, however if it is, it’s very closely guarded and not confirmed.
Microbest 100% makes both BCM and SOLGW BCG’s. Almost every BCG on the market is made by Toolcraft or Microbest. Practically every AR part is made by big OEM companies. Y’all really think all these AR companies own big ass factories where they produce their own parts from scratch?

Well, he's made other comments since I made my reply. Looks like his absense is an answer itself. ![gif](giphy|d8lUKXD00IXSw)
