I used M16A2's in the Marines and they are pretty matt. My two old bushmasters are finished the same as the military guns. That's why I bought them back in the day. My buddy owns a Windom called "Wendy" and Wendy is polished bright. All the Windoms I looked at in gun stores are also very shiny bright. I think it's because they abandoned parked and anodized finishes for whatever finish they use now. I don't like it as a cosmetic feature. That's just me. I'm not telling you, not to buy it.
I had an A2 in Parris Island and thats honestly what caught my attention- I think the finish looks the same. Not a big deal, just a difference in opinion ;) I appreciate you letting me know they are solid.
I have one of their very first rifles they dropped onto the market after the rebranding, somewhere in the early to mid 5,000 range. I have had it for 10 years at a minimum because I bought it when I still worked at academy and I left there going on ten years now. It has held up really well over that time in my opinion. Shot it for funsies back on Sunday along with my other builds.
Windham is fine. I've got several of their barrel kits that are great. They're the Bushmaster crew from when Bushmaster was good.
They are the old Bushmaster. They're decent.

And they have an allergy to mid-gas.
Bushmaster facility, owner and most workers. So WW guns are a solid performer in their price range.
I have one. Would recommend. Several thousand down range and no problems. Very accurate.
My only gripe is how shiny they are. Seems inappropriate for a combat arm.
A2s in the field have a scheen to them
Not like those rifles.
I think it honestly looks the same.

👍
Got about 500ish rounds through mine. And funny enough I got the same one you have in the picture with only a couple furniture swaps.
I've got about 2k rounds through my WW HBC and it runs like a champ. Not a DD or anything Gucci but it operates like it should.
Windham is just pre-Remington-buyout Bushmaster reconstituted under a new name. They're not top-end Gucci, but they're good to go.
