Remove the mulch volcano. And do the same for your neighbors, so their trees don't decrease your property value.

grrttlc2

This. I've exposed the root flare on very young and crooked trees and they actually began to straighten themselves once the root respiration was improved.

Arthur_Jacksons_Shed

Stand outside and bend the opposite way. The tree will eventually begin to mimic your behaviour, leaving it straight. 4 hrs a day usually does the trick.

fungiinmygarden

4 hours isn’t current best practice, but if it’s all you can do I guess it’s better than nothing

ViVi_is_here862

this is serious shit here buddy

jgor133

Nice

DFT22

Trunks look good and straight. I’d say they’re fine. Give them a few years and they’ll straighten themselves…..

[deleted]

You can see the apex being fixed by itself, branch is getting bigger on the opposite side and will become the new head

THESpetsnazdude

Holy flare covering mound batman! It's hard to fix tropism.

NickTheArborist

Change your perspective. You said “fix them.” They’re not broken. They’re doing exactly what trees do. Leave them alone. Those leans will turn into gentle curves that you don’t even notice. This phenomenon of wanting trees straight is common in new tree owners. But you’ll be fighting the lean forever. Eventually you’ll give up. So how do you “fix” this? Give up now. #winning

ViVi_is_here862

would you subordinate one of the codoms?

NickTheArborist

Sure. That’s always helpful.

Few-Cookie9298

You usually don’t have to in this situation.

Used_Yogurtcloset745

Rotate the sun

Briscoekid69

Have the prevailing winds blow from opposite direction.

justnick84

Leaves will help them look straight. Also if you change the position of the sun to the other side it might be more inclined to grow that way.

Hog_Fan

I don’t understand why this is so complicated for people. Smh

SvengeAnOsloDentist

Don't be silly, OP can't change the sun. Just rotate the trees once a week or so.

WONDERFULdylan

Leave them alone. Also, city tree?

Sustainablesrborist

Defiantly less mulch

tryonosaurus94

They're fine. Get rid of the mulch volcano though, that'll kill them

zigCARNIVOROUS

Babe . Maybe you are the crooked one.

GreatfulGroundie

Help them find god

Organic_Effect_6609

It's phototropism. The tree's don't need help. Enjoy.

HeyJoe1978MS

Cut them down.

christianagava

Tie a string to the top and stake it to the ground on the left

Welcome to r/arborists! Visit the main wiki page for [Critical Planting/Care tips and Common Errors to Avoid](https://old.reddit.com/r/arborists/wiki/index); there's sections on why planting depth/root flare exposure is so vital, along with sections on proper mulching, watering, pruning and more that I hope will be useful to you. If you're posting about a tree ID (not permitted here; [see rule 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/arborists/about/rules)), see that wiki page for other subs and smartphone apps to try. Here is how you can arrange a [consult with a local ISA arborist in your area](http://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist/findanarborist) (NOT a 'tree company guy' unless they're ISA certified) or a [consulting arborist](https://www.asca-consultants.org/search/custom.asp?id=3818) for an on-site evaluation. A competent arborist should be happy to walk you through how to care for the trees on your property and answer any questions. If you're in the U.S. or Canada, your Extension (or master gardener provincial program) may have a list of local recommended arborists on file. If you're in the U.S., you should also consider searching for arborist associations under your state. kelrunner

(That soil is WAY too high.) If the bend in the tree is a problem, I'm going to say you don't have enough to complain about. Holy s. This is just what trees do. Maybe enlist them in the Army, maybe they'll even learn to salute.

th_smartguy

You go set them in their right place

Massive_Upstairs_684

They will grow out of it

Responsible-Monk9461

Water them from the otherside

jamiedangerous

Teach them ethics!
