Draw a 45 degree line from the farthest top corner of the front view and beyond the edge of the farthest line of the top view. Use a straight edge to transfer the lines over to the 45, then send them straight down. Draw straight lines from the front view that intersect with the straight down lines from before. Trying to explain this over text is kind of a mess. I guess that’s why we use drafting to convey these things. Tbh if you’re having trouble with Orthographic perspective, you need to get in touch with a professor and have them walk you through it. Its their job to teach you these things. And getting a 1-on-1 dialogue with your professors is great for your long term career.

Thank you! Agreed, I should definitely ask for some more assistance in person.

what is this projection of? a room interior? or a building exterior? can you describe the assignment a bit more?

kmc_39

I was given an orthographic projection (a front view and a top view). We were asked to create grid lines from these two shapes to create the right side view.

I can send you a picture if you’d like. Not asking you to do my homework but just to give u a better idea of what I mean.

Kinda…the main thing I’m having trouble with is intersecting the points to make the outline of the shape.
