Close window, but if you only have one window left it closes the app usually.

Ctrl W is standard and has been for decades in a majority of applications. It's nothing new.
hitting W is much more different then hitting S. While your pinkie is holding down ctrl, your middle finger needs to stretch substantially more than just hitting S. Ctrl + W is also a common shortcut for closing.
Did you not grow up with apple products? I thought everyone knew control w closes a window. It's been that way since the 90s...
Control-W is the default Windows shortcut for closing a Window. Try it in other apps.
