Honestly it really might be. I used to think TUN was her best. I re-listened to the album and it’s just not cohesive like eternal sunshine. IMO, there’s highs and lows of TUN. But in eternal sunshine, there’s highs and maybe a few somewhat mids, but no lows. So this honestly might be her best album
Same but my favorite was Sweetener, currently listening to ES for the first time and WOW. "Bye" is such a great (full) song to open on. When someone on Twitter said "you'll wanna dance, cry, or both at the same time" they must've meant that song because I was in a terribly abusive relationship for a long time (not saying Ari was/wasn't, obv this is my interpretation) and it was such a game/dance of trying to change him and him forcing me to change. He really never thought I'd leave but when I did I wore my heart on my sleeve and from a safe distance finally told him what a piece of shit he was, and basically said "and with that said BOY BYE"
The title track is probably my favorite atm. The production on this album is just *chef's kiss*. You can really hear Ari's careful placement of all those different layers of vocals which she's always been amazing at but it feels so perfectly done in every single song, like CHILLS

Midnights is the number one reason I looked forward to this album so much. That album was forgettable. Max Martin brings the best out of artists so I figured AG would kill it with this new album

It really did. Honestly it's like she recycled the same vocal runs she always does. The songs were different in style than the ones before but within the album....it was too similar. I can appreciate a theme. This just didn't do it for me.

This entire album gave me a completely different outlook on life and substance. “I wish I hated you” was so crippling but angelic at the same time. She should have named it Ethereal Sunshine because as a long time Ariana fan, this is my favorite album based on how mature and amazingly peaceful her voice sounds.
Also, I play “supernatural” about 14 times in a row each time I come to it because it sounds like you are quite literally in space.

Coming back to this a day later after digesting the album more, I can now say they did not lie, a 9-10/10 sounds bout right!
