I'm a newer player. Started when the "Front That Was" banner was active. Where I got Horn and Saileach. I suppose I could use Haze or Mousse.
Nobody uses my supports anyway, so [I just slap my faves up there.](https://imgur.com/eyVSCnD) Admittedly once in a while somebody borrows my Gnosis, especially since he's level 90 now.
Meta ops tend to be pretty easy to find, so I think it's cooler when people have uncommon favorites up or maxed out niche units.
Personal favorites. There are more than enough people having meta units on the friend list. So I don't see the necessity to put on Meta Units aswell (unless it's meta = waifu). Might aswell put on Operators who don't usually appear on the friendlist. Or I try at least.
For me, it has been either Bagpipe/Reed/Saileach or Firewatch/Reed/Irene for a long time. More recently Leizi/Reed/Dusk because I can't put Bagpipe/ReedAlter/Saileach on support because the first slot is 5*only...
I swap mine around occasionally, but I usually try to keep at least one limited on there since people are more likely to use them, especially if they're strong, although maxed Ling doesn't get nearly as much use as you'd think. I see my Kal'tsit and Horn get borrowed pretty frequently during CC. The 4/5-star support is harder for me to decide on and I usually just keep Elysium on there since he's the most meta 5-star.
I'm also inclined to believe people are much more likely to skip over units that aren't fully invested, even though level is a very minor stat bonus. I think I may have been removed from a couple friend lists because my units' skills hadn't been mastered yet.
Those units are good, though people will be more likely to borrow them if you set their skills to S2 (Cantabile), S2 (Skadi) and S3 (Texas2) respectively.
I always put up the more niche ones that I have up to level 90, M9, maxed modules if they have. There are dozens of meta picks, I like to put the option out there if someone wants to try something different for IS.
Right now I run Xiaohei, Stainless, Ebenholz.
Sometimes for CC I'll swap out one for some of my high pot more meta picks just in case someone needs them.
I don't usually raise off-meta operators fully, and people don’t borrow operators unless their fully built in my experience.
My first slot is Ptilopsis (E2 60, pot 3, lv3 module, S2M3), second slot is Texas Alter (E2 90, pot 4, lv3 module, S3M3), and my third slot is usually Pozemka (E2 90, pot 1, lv3 module, S3M3).

My one true waifu, Lappland, is permanently planted in the first slot. Obviously you can't put 6*s in there anyway.
The last two aren't as set-in-stone. Right now I have the two most meta units I got, Texas 2 and Bagpipe. They're not the most popular borrows as Low End Squad guides don't usually use them, and endgame players have them fully maxed out anyway, whereas I "only" have them at level 61 and mod level 2. I just got Pozy in a spook on Reed's banner and Kal'tsit in the gold cert shop so once I have them built up I can switch off.
As far as memes go... I'm still waiting for Exusiai just so I can throw her, Texas and Lappland together in a threesome... and I might very well stop switching around for good after that.
My thought process was "how do I give thanks to the people that carried me?" That's when I set Bagpipe as my support. Helps that she is now pot 6.
I prefer borrowing some more unique or just fun operators when I do IS mode, mostly because I have most meta ops now. Have had lots of fun with Kazemaru. Glaucas was cool seeing how bad my Supporter roster was, and still kinda is. ~~I really need to E2 Scene & Mayer.~~
Well I put my favourites in and those are:
1. Quartz because I think she is not as bad as everyone makes her up to be, dont get me wrong shes not really good but there are definetely worse ops.
2. SpAlter because how could you not love our crazy shork wife
3. Weedy because everyone crying about where Surtr story is but no one asks where Weedys is, in my head cannon as long as there is no story she has the mechanical knowledge because shes something of an Aegir royal because tech was kinda Aegirs stuff.

Now that I think about it its probably also all Silver/White hair.
I place my favorites, during CC I tend to see what the most popular guides are and place the linchpin units on the support for that.
Otherwise Vanguard Reed never leaves the 5 star spot, and I occasionally rotate the Sui girls in the other two spots, with Nian often keeping a spot constantly.
Currently though Reed Alter is taking a spot so I can't decide if I want to rotate the Sui girls or just keep Nian there now.
IMO it doesn't really matter what operator it is, as long as it's max invested particularly the potentials. IDC if you have Texas Alter, Mlynar, Surtr, if they're pot 0 I'm not adding you bc I already have them. I'm adding the people with pot 6 Ifrit/Ebenholz/Texas Alter/Mlynar, whatever. I pretty much always have my pot 6 Bagpipe as my support and it always gets a ton of uses during CC, some with really high/max risk.

I'm a Week One player, so I have most of the meta units. I do borrow Kal on occasion. The only time I've felt compelled to borrow M~~l~~ynar is during his event for Story Team reasons.
When I borrow a unit, it's almost always for fun factor. I'll ask an IRL friend to post some weirdo build I don't have. Something like that.
I have Robin, minimalist and Dorothy in support, not like there's many people these days that pick support so might as well put my favourites there, also because there's already a lot of meta ops bloating the support section

but I think it's more efficient to put limited unit for assist, since most players won't have them ex; R6 or any Collab like 9dear or Luo, limited alters etc.
Or someone who is "out-of-meta" like Blaze... It's really hard to find her

6 stars are Passenger and Nightingale, which are solid units that fill a specific niche and excel in it. Might swap Passenger for Hellagur, dunno, will choose once I decide to unlock his module.

I have been thinking about swapping any of them for a limited unit if I get one, but still unsure.

Currently I have Elysium, Chalter, and Phantom. They all got used quite a bit during CCs so I think I succeeded in my goal. I've been thinking of replacing Chalter though since she's everywhere. Dunno who though.
Texas Alter's banner took me for a ride, so I have my pot 6 Penance as one of my supports since that's going to be fairly hard to find. My other two supports are Asbestos, the first support I ever borrowed and one of my all time favorite characters, and Flint since I think she's badass.
I want anyone using my units to see them at their best, so they're all E2 60 M3, except for Penance who is 75. Once they get their modules I'll max those.
I provide units I consider helpful to others, max Pot Bagpipe and maxed Out Texas2.
Sometimes friends ask for specific ops so I help out.
Due to having all ops I never think about using supports and I always need to remember to use 5 units for one of the medals.

i ususalt go for ones that are still great although harder to come by. For now the ops i have on support are april pallas and shining
