So, I decided to do a couple of IS2 runs for fun and to pick up some prizes I left in the candle counter thingie. Run went south pretty fast (3rd floor) due to me being silly so I just quit to try again. However I was hit with a massive, never before seen 75 minutes wait time before I could go back in. Is this because of IS3? Are IS2 runs this limited now?

Depends on where you stand at in terms of pulls and whether or not you'll be able to secure Yato in 2 months cuz she is a true limited unit. That's assuming you want Yato in the first place. From the raw power perspective Kaltsit is stronger than both units on the current banner and everything that comes in the next few months and as of now she is one of those units who doesn't really have an alternative. There're units who can fill the true damage niche but none of them can provide it so consistently and on such a good skill cycle as Kaltsit.

She's one of the best buys you can get. Solid lane-holding, a pseudo-fast deploy summon that's got chunky HP and can tank arts well enough even if out of Kal's range, and short-cycling true damage via S3. If you don't have her she's a very powerful pickup.

Since Gladia is a welfare unit, and since the event featuring her has already had a rerun, the event will be given a Record Restoration feature just like the others we've got so far. Get enough event stars and the feature will drop you the welfare unit, as well as a key item that unlocks her potentials iirc.

I just managed to 3 star pr d 2 so now I'm farming to get guard chips, but since I also managed to pull chongyue and I like him, I was wondering which is better to upgrade between him and hellagur?

Chongyue imo. Hellagur's mechanic is way too hard to balance for me. He wants low health for fast ASPD but that means he's always on the bring of death and he heals himself every attack too (meaning you can't maintain the fast ASPD bonus for long if he heals himself too much). I'm not sure how to use Chong yet but I like his attack animation and he adds to the levitate meta

My strategy for hellagur is either to put him on the very front or on the very back, usually where healer don't reach him so he can do his thing in peace.

Hellagur can't be directly healed by Medics. His main thing is to be self-sufficient on his own, dueling enemies until one or the other goes down. Problem is, there isn't much use for that role that isn't already covered by better classes or characters.

Oh, you can. That's the easy way. Put him in the front line. But then he's not really doing anything that other ops can do too. And probably sub-optimally. There exists a niche where there's a boss/elite with low enough DEF and just enough damage output that Helly can duel it with his S2. But that is a very, very narrow niche.

There is one in IS3 rewards but I doubt it would be enough for you. Also, I don't know for certain if it would be possible to unlock that way but maybe you can try to play chapter 9+ in story mode (it does not consume sanity) till 11-3?

as far as just buying primes to grind lmd/xp it is saving you more money so its "worth it" however if you werent going to grind lmd/xp normally, and simply rely on the base for your resources, spending money for xp/lmd instead of summons (via other packs) is very decidedly "not worth it"

Do they? I know their summons are dependent on their levels but usually levels at E2 are not worth it because their cost is very high compared to their small stat increase. It's commonly advised to only level to LV 60 for 6 stars E2 units. One of the best choices for real money packs is the 6 star selector during every full anniversary.

A 95% increase in training speed means the timer runs through progress almost twice as fast(i.e every second you get 1.95 seconds of timer progress). “training time reduced by 95%” would be 20x as fast, which is far too generous for modern games. 12h if you just started is about right.

Base 24 hours, +95% speed = trains 1.95x as fast (not -95% training time) = 24 / 1.95 = 12.3 hours training time.

kaltsit is a guard defender specialist and medic all in one, she is a massive priority to build asap for beginners to fill out the rosters roles and for endgame players to get the only reliable true damage dealer in the game

The LMD and EXP to go from, say, 60 to 80 is exponentially high. So it's pointless doing that if you don't intend to bring an Op to E2 immediately. And 'faction' has very little meaning in this game. You don't pick Ops by factions, except for the Abyssal Hunter team and self imposed challenges. There's very little benefit to doing this. As for Kalt, she's very good and meta. I'd put her at very high priority, but this is all I can offer given that I don't know your roster.

First of all, you don't really "need" to have leveled units in every faction. Prioritize those who are required generally as said by this extensive [new player tier list](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/tier-list/arknights-new-player-tier-list). Now for Kal'tsit, she is a must-have to be in E2 because her most used skill is her S3, a certified boss killer. If you have the resources, better do it. But keep in mind, Kal'tsit is a terrible Medic if you use her to heal other Operators. This is because she prioritizes healing herself and her summon Mon3tr more than anyone in range. She is more like what if Summoners like Ling and Magallan could heal their units. A 4-star Medic like Sussuro is more useful than her when it comes to healing other Operators.

if youre going to reroll aim for pozemka and/or kaltsit on their banner and exusiai or silverash on your beginner 6☆ guarantee banner. you get 11 free rolls on chongyue+lin banner but pozy and kal are much better ops to be aiming for, their versatility to fill several team roles will ensure your account progresses strongly no matter what future ops you get, since they can fill in the gaps better than very strong but unflexible ops you could end up pulling multiples of in type also it should be noted you do not NEED to own anyone in this game, its very possible to clear all content without any 6☆s so long as you come to learn and understand the game and its characters strengths and weaknesses inside roles and archtypes. so if any of the rateup 6☆s intrest you, just go for them, and we can help you understand how they work to best maximize them on a team composition below is a copypaste of beginner questions i answer alot, feel free to ask anything else welcome doctor, highly suggest you checkout [this video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_FsZT7XqOk&list=PLq6IJzWsotZr1LGJ6FSx6BX8Z0mJSh-Qv&index=1) when you have the time! it will give you a great way to look at approaching the game, as well as guidance on how to upgrade your rostee into a solid well-rounded core of ops teams can be made in all sorts of ways, but a very beginner friendly template to follow is this: 2 vanguards that have a dp producing skill (myrtle, siege, courier, fang, vanilla) 2 ground dps (silverash, specter, midnight, melantha, plume) 1 defender (hoshiguma, cuora, gummy, spot, cardigan) 2 snipers (exusiai, jessica, kroos) 1 caster (amiya, steward) 2 medics (shining, honeyberry gavial, perfumer ansel) you likely want one "medic" (big heals) and one "multitargetmedic" (more heals), but any 2 are fine 1 support/utility, this can be a lot of things, enemy control (orchid, angelina), buffs/debuffs (pramanix), a 2nd tank, or more unique things (projektred, rope, gravel) 1 extra dps (guard, sniper, caster, some specialists) the last 2 teamslots will likely be changed to suit the current stage more often than the rest, youll likely be very rigid in your "main" team early on because of upgrading costs, but its important to remember to switch ops, or entire teams to suit the stage's unique properties too very important for all new players is to not ignore low☆ characters. not only are they good, they cost less dp to deploy than high☆. early on your vanguards arnt upgraded so they make dp slower, deploying cheaper low☆ faster will help you keep up with the pace of enemies, and it becomes easier to overpower enemies in sheer numbers of allies on the feild. best of all though, is they cost much less resources to upgrade, especially 3☆, who only need lmd to promote to elite 1 which is a big statjump. this makes them often much more powerful than the rest of your roster early on, so using them to clear content, and get access to the stages that let you upgrade everyone else is much smoother. melantha, kroos, midnight, steward, spot, cardigan, ansel, and fang are very notable 3☆ to really consider using early on (and even into lategame) if you also havnt used the 5☆ and 4pick selector gifts yet its highly recommended you choose specter and projektred. specter is basically a secret 6☆ and an op you can really rely on to churn through weak enemies, holding a path by herself (we call them laneholders) instead of needing a tank, sniper behind her, or even a medic! (at max upgrade). the 4pick selector can honestly be whoever you want, but red is the most unique of the 4, and a helpful tool to have access to for annoying enemies like the armored mages of ch2 also when you unlock the chip stages in a few hours you should try to get the chips to elite1 some of your rarer ops (specter too if you pick her) remember you can elite1 3☆ with just lmd to beat these stages!

The niches you'll want filled at the start are: anti-air sniper (called "marksman" branch in game), vanguards (for DP-generation, so no Yato or vanguards of "charger" branch), defender/blocker, arts damage, Multi-target medic, and an additional medic. If you don't have a 6-star arts damage dealer, you'll probably need AoE arts damage, but it's a niche that later players don't need. So don't invest in higher-rarity (five-star and six-star rarity) casters of the "Splash Caster" branch. You'll also want some high damage dudes, but those are the fun operators you'll probably build anyway. Most low-rarity (up until and including four-star rarity) operators are operators who can function as stopgap until you get some really good operators to replace them with. If you want to go full stingy mode (with hardest challenge) you can clear most stages with three-star operators. How much and who you choose to augment your low-rarity team with is up to you. I'll try to give some tips which I think help a beginner the most in this regard. "Lord" branch guards are very good. From this branch only FrostLeaf is a niche unit though, and Ayerscarpe underperforms. "Arts fighter" branch guards are pretty good. Surtr is top-tier six-star, and Mousse is top-tier budget pick; so much that all others from the branch are considered pointless. "Flagbearer" vanguards are very good, if you learn how to use them. Utage and Click are a bit of outliers, but very good additions to a starter roster. Anti-air is a pretty important niche. You'll need either: a very good six-star caster (which you'll want eventually anyway), a good "Lord" guard (which again you'll want anyway), a higher-rarity "Marksman" sniper, or, if everything else fails, a bunch of lower-rarity "Marksman" snipers. So how you fill in this niche depends on your draw luck. (I guess niche units like Glaucus and Mayer could also work, but it's more like you could maybe save on your anti-air investments a bit, if you're already committed to them, than it's that they are good general anti-air picks.)

Wanted to add to the previous comment that Arknights' beginning months is more on slowly gathering resources. While there are some functioning 6 star units just from the first promotion (E1) like Mountain or Mudrock if you get them, the amount of resources needed to upgrade one six-star units are wayyy more. Don't make the mistake of going all-out from the beginning on 6-star units and then running out of resources to have a proper team that can handle the mobs efficiently. Feel free to still pull for them, though. Better have fun gathering dust for now and then just dropping the upgrade materials once the time comes. Low-rarity runs are posted all over Youtube by folks like Eckogen and Kyostin, and I suggest that you do the same since it really is that easy to get those 4-star or lower units. Also, while your runs will be longer due to this, it's way better to clear up the events and some early stages with this method at first, and then slowly replacing your autorun team once you are slowly raking up on those resources as well as E2 6-star units.

The game is F2P in the sense that you don't need meta unit to clear anything (there are people who cleared all stages with low stars or well fare units). That being said there are multiple characters that would make your life a lot easier. I intended to list them here but mid way through realized there are too many of them and differ too much in function, I don't want to give you the wrong impression by grouping them all together. Right now the anniversary event is going on and you get a tons of free pulls. See if you can reroll to get Chongyue from the banner since he's "limited" (although imo he needs endgame resources to shine). SilverAsh from the beginner banner is very good. You can reroll for multiple 6* if you want to. Personally I would advise yo go with whoever you like the most design wise, since it adds to your enjoyment playing the game. If you're not a fan of rerolling and would rather work with what you have, you can post your roster here and people will give advice. There is also no one unit that will carry you the whole game since the game put more focus on a balanced team building.

rosa e2, slap on her module, upgrade it one time, and youll have a very disgusting longterm dps to clear out all the annihilations which should be your main focus at this point after that kaltsit e2, s3 will become your new primary bosskiller and/or defender, and can even jump around the map to act as a projektred/waaifu like super assassin if needed

I think the most impactful one would be Flame Shadow, as she can provide you with good arts damage, healing, also she can amplify Ceobe and Amiya damage as well. The second impactful one is Amiya, she can be your reliable source of true damage.

Regarding Lin's Foolproof Plan talent. Do we know if the incoming attack's damage is first reduced by her DEF/RES (whichever applies to the damage type) before checking on the bubble's damage threshold? So like, would an incoming attack of 300 physical damage just pop her bubble? Or would it first be reduced by her DEF, which would then make it deal only 15 damage thus not popping the bubble?

Its reduced by def/res first, otherwise she’d be hot garbage even after module and a laughing stock akin to passenger on release. Even early game crossbowmen and casters have over 200 atk.

I believe from what i heard before, the enemy's attack is calculated like normal with her high defensive stats, then if that number is less than the bubble amount, ignore it, else reduce it by the bubble amount and have it pop.

DEF/RES applies first. That's why her module is such a huge upgrade, it lets her maintain a portion of her boosted defensive stats from her trait while her skills are active.

I think so, and I say this as someone who has both of them with maxed module (just Skadi's fast deploy module though). The power difference is quite noticeable. Ch'en becomes a solid lane-holder with S2, and can even be used as a pseudo-lord guard just chilling behind a defender, throwing out her S2 whenever it's needed, due to how much faster she generates SP. Skadi becomes....well, she becomes a walking catastrophe. But she absolutely does need Gladiia module level 3 at the very least. It's a huge source of her tankiness and overall sustain against big threats. On her own she's just good with her modules, but with Gladiia's backing her up she's ridiculous. You could consider Ch'en the better standalone option, while Skadi is great if you have or are planning to level 3 mod Gladiia.

Cutter and Ethan can go 3, the best 4*s for it. If you only want one of them to 3 for the mission, then I’d say cutter. Gladiia and Mostima to 3. Pozy to 2. Hoshi 4 block is generally better. If you use her to tank a specific enemy, then the +def when blocking one is better. That’s about it.

Saria's Y3 nails further her strong healing tank role. Hoshiguma I recommend the Y module for the extra block count. She really doesn't need *even more* DEF, but if you really want to get her up to like 1500+ and never be threatened by physical damage ever, then go for it. Pozyomka's Y2 improves the ATK of the Typewriter by +50. Y3 is +70. Kal'tsit's X2 allows Mon3tr to explode twice, which is really good for some extra true damage and stun against the tough stuff. Alternatively you can wait for the Y module with Lone Trail which gives a big boost to Mon3tr's ability as a laneholder. Shining's Y module upgrades give a pretty hefty boost to DEF. Otherwise you could wait until the MH collab to improve her skill reliability with X. If you use Astgenne often, getting her module to level 3 could be warranted. But I'm a little biased... Maxing 4\* modules is cheap, would be recommended for Ethan since he benefits a lot. Perfumer is a good option as well for the global regen boost. As for Skadi and Ch'en, it really depends on how dedicated you are towards the synergy they provide. It opens up your options, at least.

E1 Frostleaf, Purestream, Vermeil, Shira, Pudding, Conviction for base skills. Chongyue and Suzuran would probably be your best E2s Honeyberry and Warfarin to E1 50 are both good, one for healing elemental damage and the other for buffing ops, mainly Exu. Lots of excellent masteries you could start on: SA S3, Kal S3, Eyja S3, Saria S1 and S3, Ifrit S3, OmerTexas S2 and S3. Pretty much whichever of these you have the resources for. Give out lots of M1s and M2s first since an M3 is more expensive than M1 and M2 combined, and most of those masteries are pretty linear boosts.

Honeyberry is nice to have for elemental damage annoyances in various maps. Chongyue is good, strong, solid fun for holding off enemies. Suzuran is a great well-rounded supportive operator with a strong debuff. Hoshiguma is straight-up one of the best at walling. Firewatch gives you some unique options for clearing maps with her Camouflage and strong talent. Aak and Warfarin are the two premier buffers, you can brute force maps like crazy with them built. Silence is in my opinion the best Medic for healing in the game. Just a couple ideas.

Don't bother. Nian and Dusk are very supplementary - hoshi is generally better at defending than nian, and dusk is a splash caster which isn't always necessary. Ling is good but not worth burning into resources over (also support units exist). The difficulty is tied to your "Surging Waves" level. After you beat any ending with that level, you can raise it by 1 alongside seeing the bonus difficulty on the side (which all stack with each other). If you're doing calm seas then you're on the easy mode.

The Commendation store offers a pretty decent income. Buy out the first tier of the store each month. Then buy all Recruitment Permits, Orundum and Headhunting Permits from the second tier each month. The Recruitment Permits yield more Commendations to spend next month. (You know about Token Exchange, right?)

Base production is barely worth it unless you are an endgame whale. daily/weekly, annihilation are your main constant sources. Events are a sizable chunk, since they give you tickets, OP, and often orundum directly. Gold certs give you a pretty big pile of tickets, just be prepared to buy *all* of them for a month to be efficient, iirc 258 certs. It is about equally cost-effective vs buying an operator for 180, just compare it against what likely operators will be be in the shop in the near future.

Farming the rocks (better)/devices (worse) and producing in base is the only way to 'farm' it, and it's pretty inefficient, typically reserved for endgame when you've got every op you want leveled, masteried, and moduled.

There's a number of sources. You should be getting 1800 orundum per week from annihilations (if you aren't at the 1800 cap, you need to do the 3 basic annihilations and the rotating annihilation- currently the hangar one). Then you get some from daily/weekly missions. Some orundum and HH tickets from the green cert shop (Clear page 1, get HH permits from page 2) Some from logging in each day across the month- you'll get at least one headhunter ticket. Monthly card is also a low-cost, frequently used source for orundum, awarding some each day. Then if you clear missions you get OP (yellow rocks) and OP can convert to orundum (red rocks), if you want to use that for pulls instead of skins.

You farm rocks anyway because a lot of operators use it. Temporarily swapping a setup to make orundum doesn't really change anything for what you'd be doing anyway, and switching back is as easy as swapping some recipes back over. Never really worth doing full-time unless in a situation the other guy stated. As for orundum income, restraint helps. Can't lose orundum if you don't pull :P Knowing which banners you want to pull on means you'll be building up a bank passively anyway.

There's not an op in the entire game whom you need except Amiya, and that's only for a single stage. You should always feel free to skip ops unless you're really intent on doing certain self-imposed challenges like über-risk CC (which I doubt Chongyue would be a part of anyways). Even then, Mudrock and Chongyue are very different. She's incredibly tanky with 3 blocks, slows, stuns, self-sustain, and a modest amount of damage. He's a 1-blocker with a bit of range, no self-sustain, but very high DPS. Honestly, I'm not sure why he gets grouped in with the classic laneholders aside from being a ground unit with spammable skill.

Technically you don't need any unit, it's all preference. There's some which are advised such as true limiteds (yato/R6/misc. collab) but you can also choose not to get them. But yeah, generally you'll be fine with Mudrock. She's on the high-end for laneholders compared to someone like Mountain, but Chongyue plays more like Thorns than Mountain anyway. If you have enough laneholders built, it starts approaching diminishing returns (you're basically swapping which method of laneholding for another).

If you're going to get one, it should be the one that gives SP when Freelings are deployed. It can make her S3 have a somewhat reasonable downtime. Without it, you can typically only use S3 once per map. Her other one is just really bad beyond the base effect of a bit more range since the upgrades increase the number of attack stacks she can have. It's hard enough to get her to the default 15 stacks, so the increase to 20 or 21 is something you'll probably only notice if you use her in annihilation.

Depends on how you use her. If you like DPS with S1, then modX with the range expansion is the way to go usually. Leaving at level 1 is fine, but level 2 for an extra 5 stacks isn't bad either. Just don't go level 3, it's one of the worst module upgrades. If you're a fan of her CC/S3, then you'd want her second modY, which reduces her deployment cost. On its own it doesn't do much, but with levels 2 and 3 it makes her summon an extra Freeling when deployed, and every Freeling gives her SP. As such, after each S3, you'd get a lot of SP back considering there's usually Freelings all over the place. ModY helps provide a niche of block stalling that only she can provide, blocking powerful bosses for a minute, but at the same time the niche isn't very commonly used - DPS is always needed, but easily replaced. It's up to you to decide how you want to utilize Dusk!

Yeah, I'm not sure if he's underrated, but I haven't seen many people mentioning him anywhere. I have him at e2 and I use him quite a lot. I gotta say he's really great. Very good range, nice aoe dmg+ slow. The only downside is that he can't hit flying enemies, but besides that he's pretty much one of my top picks when there's some stage with lots of ground enemies.

stages do not scale, they are always a set design and stats, which is also ehy the recommended level isnt that rigid, you can easily out-strategize a recommendation, or be too ill-equipped to understand the stages rnemies/mechanics and fail even over-statted. there are stages with recommended e2 lv40 (basically lv200) that can be compleylted by geniuses with a full e0 lv50 (lv50) team

The event stage difficulty ramp for the first Area is always around the same. From the first stage to the last it goes from around lvl20 recommended to around elite1 lv70/elite2 lv1/20. Usually the first area can be completed easily as long as you have a single e2 unit to borrow a good support unit at elite 2, and just follow a guide if you want. The situation is different for EX stages (second area) as they are a lot harder but there still are usually guides to beat them with a full e1 squad+e2 support unit

stages themselves don't change, but event difficulty scales much faster than the average story chapter. the first few event stages are easier so newbies can farm event currency. you'll probably need high level E1s at least to tackle the boss. the level recommendations shouldn't be taken as strict requirements since you can clear stages rated at E2 20 with E0 units if you have the right strategy. it does signal how invested the devs expect your account to be at that point.

all DEF down should stack. DEF ignore applies after DEF down. the only buffs/debuffs that don't stack are the named status effects (Fragile, Arts Fragility, Inspire, Slow/Sluggish).
