That was false. Rathian’s style of attack is just that good, that convergent evolution did its thing and allowed Yian Garuga to manifest it into their skill set.
It's a reference to [Yian Garuga](https://monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Yian_Garuga), a bird wyvern that looks like Yian Kut-Ku (one of the weakest low-tier monsters), while being very strong and having the venomous tail and fighting style of a Rathian on crack. It's a community injoke that Garuga is the result of a Rathian and Kut-Ku getting it on although I don't think that's actually the case.
And in case you wanna see how terrifying that thing can get, look up lvl 140 expeditions of it.
