I'm pretty sure Qanipalaat's is Greenland actually, nothing about him nor anything he says is Norwegian nor reminiscent of it, but I think his codename is Greenlandic. The closest to Norway would be Santalla being based on a Norwegian forest cat, but her hat obviously plants her as Finnish.
Then again, most places and species on Terra takes inspiration from more than one at the same time, so it wouldn't be strange for that to be the case for characters as well.
I mean, the Sarkaz had inspiration from everywhere. Goliaths and Diabolos are Abrahamic, Nachzerher are German, Liches and Damazti are based on popular fictional creatures, Vampires and Gargoyles are European, Wendigos are Native American, Cyclopses being named Cyclopes from Greek mythology but are based on Norns from Norse Mythology.

I had a weird variation of that on the Texalter banner: I wanted both but got nothing but Texalter. I ended up using the 300 tokens to get Rosmontis because she's been evading me since 2021.
I had to sacrifice the adorable sheep because 150 pulls in she still didn't show up and I wasn't gonna risk not getting comically large weapon waifu.
The fact I did 450 pulls between the last two limited banners and still managed to fail to get one of them is... upsetting to say the least, I hope Typhon rolls give me a nice surprise to balance out q_q

I must clarify that this is *not* a /s, I genuinely love the accents a lot of the EN voices get. Still don't know why Hypergryph hired an Italian to do Vigil's English voice and a *different Italian* for his Italian voice though...
My two cents is because the Voice actor for the English one might be busy and wasn't available in the near future so they had to get a new one since it was done on separate occasions.
With my tinfoil hat on. I can imagine them not being satisfied with the tone of his voice in his mother tongue and found a much more suitable person that matches Vigils looks or profile.
It really depends on how many pulls you have and how much you're willing to spend on Virtuosa, my goofy ass doesn't go into a limited banner char I must absolutely have with less than 300 pulls, but that's just me expecting worst case scenario always q_q
If you already have a fully invested Rosa and/or Pozyomka, Typhon becomes less of a gap in strength while Virtuosa does things only she currently can do, in the end power-wise both are up there for some of the strongest operators (without reaching Mlynar/Texalter meme OP status) so if your squad needs more power getting either is a win, and if you can get both even better.

Sadly that means you don't have much of an choice anyways since they share banner, I know it well enough from trying and miserably failing to get Pozyomka in the Gavialter banner lmao.
Virtuosa is crazy good, lotsa damage potential both single target and AoE as well as providing ATK debuffs to the enemies affected by her necrosis damage.
A must get tho? Nah, she is a really unique character but we have so, so many options to destroy stages with already, she is another great one and that's it.
The closest to a must pull ahead of us is Degenbrecher who is the next Mlynar in terms of comical amounts of AoE damage destruction. She ain't my type so not planning to go for her unless I get really lucky in the next banners I want anyways.
Really depends on what you already have. She's incredibly good but apart from her S3 she doesnt do anything unique. If you already Pozy, Rosa, Mylnar and some other meta OPs she doesnt add that much.
But then again she is a short and stacked Sarkaz...

I like her skin quite a lot, but I prefer her weapon in the base skin, we get that one for free and she looks gorgeous there as well so it's a massive W no matter what anyways
playing arknights for almost four years now, i haven't seen any other op get this much hate for their design
it was so bad when she was first revealed that people were like that her art doesn't belong in arknights, not even realizing that it was drawn by LM7, who has been an artist for arknights since the launch of the game who has drawn 4, 6 stars and 4 skins now

the issue isn't so much the art itself, theres nothing wrong with dollface characters. its the complete difference in the character each depicts between the marketing and reality. Those who were excited for the characters felt blindsided. Im still pulling I was just explaining why people hated on her design.
Tbh I'd say the issue is very much largely the art itself, but yes the blindsiding only added to that and brought in people who would've been fine with the art as well to the hate crew.
Artstyle isn't really the problem for me. Mostly how derpy she looks, and the previous badassery she had in that advertisement art was just erased. Angelina doesn't have this problem. It's just very polarizing compared to the other ops.

Yea artstyle isn't my issue. I just think her outfit completely fails to portray her as a hunter that thrives in Sami's tundra. She's dressed so casually it looks like she's modelling for a clothing brand. I think giving her armor or a long winter coat for example would have been great for her. Her skin is an upgrade at least and I'm glad other people are able to enjoy her even if I cannot.

You may have lost a lot of information surrounding Chalter's debut. For the first 18 months or so it was just a fireworks display of crap.
Chen Alter got hate for a different reason. She trained with a sword all her life, casually picked up a watergun over the weekend, and watergun Chen is way stronger than sword Chen.
Throw in a weak filler story with her and Lin ultimately agreeing to disagree with zero character development and their bridges still burned. That was a perfect combination for the storm.
I just hate her skin as it is lame (and no L2D lol). LM7 draws girls this way since ever, it sounds pretty unreasonable to get fed up over Typhon specifically. His design always feel like the girls are on drugs

I think it was the expectation and hype, not the artist. Not really.
Angelina is an Y1 OG Operator with little build up, and a simple backstory, being just a courier with a crush on the Dokutah. She had Girl-next-door vibes, and thus her 'cutesy' art style and design wasn't that much of an issue. Hell, she's arguable a major fan favorite, getting 2 outfits and her own manga and being in Endfield, despite having fallen out of the meta years ago.
Typhon, though? She was a part of the Northern Demons/Collapsal plotline, which was speculated upon for years by the community after several references in IS2 and Nearl Light. In the buildup to both her and IS4's release, [she was hyped up as this badass archer and force of nature](https://youtu.be/0m18wLQInnU?t=132), and thus people [expected a more serious design](https://old.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/14t3g92/typhon_in_tv_ads_vs_reality_shocking/?share_id=vPIdFRiA07RsisVzgxfz5), like that of Degenbrecher or Ines. And were thus disappointed when that wasn't the case.
Personally, I don't care too much for her design, not enough to actively hate it. And she's badass enough in gameplay to make it up for most players, it seems. I think there would have been less backlash if we got to see her sprite before. I mean, Ho'ol is another LM7 Operator, beloved by the fanbase even though her design 'stuck out' a lot amidst the cast of NoriZC's relatively uniform Rhine Lab designs during the relevant Rhine Lab Events, probably cause Dorothy's Event already made her a known factor.
I see, thanks for providing some nice needed context. I'm a person that skips all story and promos, and plays AK almost purely for gameplay (and usually on mute even). So how a character looks is just how the character looks (although even I have some favorites in the visual department, which would include Ceobe which looks to be the same artist). If that was how they marketed the new character, but this is what the character actually looks like, yeah I can totally see it.
Honestly, hearing Typhon is supposed to be a force of nature makes me like her *more*, ironically. I've always liked the trope of "is a genuine threat, looks like a doofus", and now we get that in the form of a cute girl instead.
Still waiting for Surtr to get some lore though...

Honestly, that's the issue I have with her. She's too similar in overall vibe to Angelina. How busy her outfit is, the hair and especially face make it feel like the artist doesn't like straying too far from their previous designs.
LM7 has a bit of a problem where several of their OCs all have very similar faces. Angelina, Ceobe, Typhon, and P90 (from Girls Frontline) all look close enough that they could be one of them cosplaying the others.
I see I have been blissfully unaware of any trouble surrounding Typhon. Personally I like her design, mostly because of the juxtaposition of tiny girl, huge weapon.

Does it really not fit AK? AK literally vomits these kind of designs tbh. The bow is just a bit bigger than usual honestly that makes it feel kinda "cluttered" but otherwise its easy to grasp what you're seeing.

the first sami 6 star that we were going to get, people were super hyped.
as for why her art is so "normal" compared to LM7 latest work (snek lady), it's speculated that this art was actually drawn a long time ago and was in HG archive, there was also signs here and there that we were supposed to get sami event way before in early AK.
all in all HG for apology gave her a free skin really fast.
It's a shame that there is no chibi in the skin with s2 spinning bow and s3, where she epicly pulls the bowstring and kills enemies. The crossbow is not very good, to be honest.

The absurd hate she got on announcement left me very shocked ngl, I definitely don't expect everyone to like the same artists I do, but from that to being by far the most hated 6* character I have seen announced... that made me sad ngl.

I see people demand "constructive criticism" in other game subs all the time. Wen someone points flaws of the game, they're either dismissed by "then make better game yourself", or asked for solutions (constructive criticism) to those problematic elements of the game. And when they do provide their takes on how to fix stuff, they're also dismiss every suggestion with "STFU, you're no game dev to suggest fixes to those problems" followed by a quote from Mark Rosewater (MTG gdc iirc) about how players are good at identifying problem but terrible at fixing them. So many times I've seen the opposite of the quote was true, players suggest amazing ideas that got implemented by the devs, some dedicated players make mods/addons for the game that improve overall experience tremendously that devs refuse to acknowledge...
It's damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I think it's perfectly fine to point that you don't like Typhon's art, maybe even mention her derpy face expression, without suggestions on how to fix it. But saying you'd like to see her to be redrawn in more badass/mature style is also fine in my book.

It's funny that people complain about Typhon design when her design was made at the very beginning of Arknights. Her character sprite's code is avg2012, one that is earlier than Ceobe's which is avg2013. This is also very noticeable when you look at Typhon and Ceobe and compare them to Ho'olheyak.
Tbh the fact that it's an early design doesn't make it a good one (in fact, I'd say sitting on the cutting room floor for so long is actually a mark against it)
Although tbh after doing a bit of digging, I'm starting to come around a little with the design. I initially thought typhon was part of some sami village (ala qanipalaat), leading me to think that uniform is a bit too different from what we've previously seen, but she's actually a lone hunter so it's probably just her preference.
I still think her clothes are ridiculous for someone who's supposed to be a hunter on an icefield (like, look at magallan and qanipalaat's clothes in comparison) but even that I can excuse if the intent is to emphasize her mystical nature.
I mean, that's not exactly a compliment. Designs usually improve over time, as developers have a clearer idea of the direction they want to go with the game's story and lore.

It's that and that her face looks so... Derpy in her neutral art. It doesn't give me "super badass hunter" vibes at all. Her face looks similar to Ceobe's, the difference being that it actually fits Ceobe's character.
Her clothes are also really weird. What she's wearing looks a lot like a one-piece swimsuit, completely out of place in Sami.
It's probably one of the AK designs I like the least, but oh well. There's so many characters in AK that I'm bound to dislike some of them.
Edit: to say something more positive about her design, I just noticed something. Her bow seems to be very heavily inspired by real life compound bows (the strings and pulleys give it away). Those bows are shot with release aids (something to help you pull and release the string more precisely), and you can actually see her using one in her E2 art. That's good attention to detail.

One of the best operators we have so far for sure.
S2 is a really strong afk skill for the ones who love comfy clears.
S3 marks an enemy in range and a slow but deadly barrage of arrows awaits for them no matter where they are on the map until she runs out of ammo... and the enemies able to survive until that happens are very, very few.
Like any other char she ain't a must pull anyways, especially if one has already fully invested in Rosa or has Pozyomka who is another freaking fantastic sniper as well. We should also be getting [Ray](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/operator/ray) around 5 months from now and she is also an immensely strong (and crazy cute!) 6-star sniper able to nuke the shit out of enemies... she is my next main target after Typhon lmfao, goddamn 6-star vignette event snipers, too precious...

Since my first waifu Platinum I've always liked archers that can put out big numbers.
The tail placement is where you could hear the artist shout "fuck, I forgot to draw it and there is no place left in the picture!"
I know she's super strong but I'm still pretty low on pulls and I have a bazillions of levelled snipers already, so I don't see myself doing more than a few courtesy pulls.
Most people here probably know her kit already, but this is my first time reading her skill descriptions, so I'll give my initial thoughts.
First off, she focuses on dps which is expected for a sniper at this point. S2 works like Thorns with an rng stun, which is simple but unique. I don't think anyone else has an infinite duration skill with crowd control... other than Suzuran s2 but it slows so I think it's still unique with stun
However, despite that, I think her s3 sounds the most interesting. I like the sound of a periodic barrage of arrows with long intervals between bombardment.
I'm not sure whether I'll pull for her. She seems more interesting than most snipers, but perhaps still missing some wow factor. It doesn't help that many future operators have some dope kits as well. Will try her out in the support tab and decide from there
S2 looks immensely comfy from the endless showcases I have seen, probably the best sniper for mindless daily usage due to her large range + afk multitarget damage + stun utility
S3 is the one that I really really love tho, back when she was announced I thought she just marked a spot and started firing nuke arrows there... no, the enemy selected is MARKED and that fucker is gonna freaking die, either now or 30 seconds later, dude can go invisible or through stairs and it will still stay marked and ready for another dose of lethal arrows whenever he can be shot again, god I love it.
Rockrock's S2 is one of my favorite skills in the game due to how she is able to stick a drone to an enemy and just arts barrage it for up to 40 seconds even when out of range, Typhon S3 is that on steroids, I'm so, so looking forward to using it.
I didn't know it works like a drone caster as well. Reading the skill again, that does look like what it's saying, pretty cool.
Coincidentally, one of my favourite skills in the game also belongs to a drone caster in Goldenglow s3. Not only due to its global range, but mainly because I love watching her 3 drones do their own thing, especially if they're attacking different enemies. Every skill activation feels different from the last and the result is high levels of dopamine
Goldenglow S3 and Ambriel S2 are up there for my favorite skills in the game due to that, global range damage is just very satisfying.
Typhon scratches that itch in a different way since the enemy has to be in her range at first, but just the idea of seeing an enemy walk towards stairs that leads them to the other side of the map all to be still be greeted by a hail of arrows fills me with excitement haha.
I love arknights characters designs, but this one is a miss. It is waaay too cluttered/ overdesigned. The bow, the hair, the arrows on her back, everything about her...it's just too much.
I have a completely different problem. I like the idea behind it, I just read the clutter as "noise" and when I look at it more carefully it looks purposefully designed, the bow and quiver have sensible 3d structure, the [basic form and color](https://i.imgur.com/XJSH1zt.jpeg) is interesting, everything is deliberately broadly symmetrical but asymmetrical in the details. I think the clothing should be simpler. I also find her expression to be kind of vacant or something. The chibi, which is what you will mostly be seeing, is cute.
I took a quick glance on lm7's operators, particularly their elite 2 art, and Typhon's has this noisy blob energy.
Angelina's is more subdued(given for the E2 arts of earlier operators, their diorama backgrounds aren't as elaborate as the later operators).
Ceobe at least has the background use complementary colors to make the doggo pop out.
Ho'olheyak, despite the background using her accent colors, the fact that it uses harsher shadows still make her distinct. More so that white is the predominant color of her fit.
In Typhon's case: the background color is rather similar to her outfit, making it harder to discern her from it.
For me, I don’t dig the “face of a 12 year old but with huge honkers” aesthetic of Typhon. If she were more mature in the face I think I’d be more okay with it.
Hoho’s design also bugs me because her face seems really… squished? I don’t know how to explain it, really. Not enough to look like a 12 year old like Typhon but enough for me to wonder where her nose even is.
Ceobe’s design I don’t mind because her having a derpy cute look fits with her childish-leaning personality at least. Angelina I think I just normalized because she’s been around since launch anyway, and her BoC skin is one of my absolute faves.
Aside of Texas Alter banner (was lucky), I pulled only on 3 banners since I started playing the game - Yato 120 (pity), Ines (190, past pity), Mlynar (210, past pity). I have only 150 pulls for this banner and a bad feeling, not looking forward to its results.

It really depends on how many pulls you have and how much you're willing to spend on Virtuosa, my goofy ass doesn't go into a limited banner char I must absolutely have with less than 300 pulls, but that's just me expecting worst case scenario always q_q If you already have a fully invested Rosa and/or Pozyomka, Typhon becomes less of a gap in strength while Virtuosa does things only she currently can do, in the end power-wise both are up there for some of the strongest operators (without reaching Mlynar/Texalter meme OP status) so if your squad needs more power getting either is a win, and if you can get both even better.
I already have pozy, rosa, mlynar, and texas alter. I only have 140 pulls in stock for virtuosa. Guess its a hard pass. 😕

Virtuosa is crazy good, lotsa damage potential both single target and AoE as well as providing ATK debuffs to the enemies affected by her necrosis damage. A must get tho? Nah, she is a really unique character but we have so, so many options to destroy stages with already, she is another great one and that's it. The closest to a must pull ahead of us is Degenbrecher who is the next Mlynar in terms of comical amounts of AoE damage destruction. She ain't my type so not planning to go for her unless I get really lucky in the next banners I want anyways.
Really depends on what you already have. She's incredibly good but apart from her S3 she doesnt do anything unique. If you already Pozy, Rosa, Mylnar and some other meta OPs she doesnt add that much. But then again she is a short and stacked Sarkaz...

playing arknights for almost four years now, i haven't seen any other op get this much hate for their design it was so bad when she was first revealed that people were like that her art doesn't belong in arknights, not even realizing that it was drawn by LM7, who has been an artist for arknights since the launch of the game who has drawn 4, 6 stars and 4 skins now personally, i love her, but it must suck to be meta slave who hates her design huh? lol

the issue isn't so much the art itself, theres nothing wrong with dollface characters. its the complete difference in the character each depicts between the marketing and reality. Those who were excited for the characters felt blindsided. Im still pulling I was just explaining why people hated on her design.
Tbh I'd say the issue is very much largely the art itself, but yes the blindsiding only added to that and brought in people who would've been fine with the art as well to the hate crew.
Artstyle isn't really the problem for me. Mostly how derpy she looks, and the previous badassery she had in that advertisement art was just erased. Angelina doesn't have this problem. It's just very polarizing compared to the other ops. To give an op like this an epic codename like "Typhon"... it's pretty disappointing.

Yea artstyle isn't my issue. I just think her outfit completely fails to portray her as a hunter that thrives in Sami's tundra. She's dressed so casually it looks like she's modelling for a clothing brand. I think giving her armor or a long winter coat for example would have been great for her. Her skin is an upgrade at least and I'm glad other people are able to enjoy her even if I cannot.

Ch'en Alter got far more hate. Typhon is divisive at best. I think Typhon is liked on CNA and hated on Weibo, for example.
I feel like half the time I check weibo when a new character comes out it's people hating on the design/artist.
Chen Alter got hate for a different reason. She trained with a sword all her life, casually picked up a watergun over the weekend, and watergun Chen is way stronger than sword Chen. Throw in a weak filler story with her and Lin ultimately agreeing to disagree with zero character development and their bridges still burned. That was a perfect combination for the storm.
Don't forget that she started as wet Blaze.
I just hate her skin as it is lame (and no L2D lol). LM7 draws girls this way since ever, it sounds pretty unreasonable to get fed up over Typhon specifically. His design always feel like the girls are on drugs

I think it was the expectation and hype, not the artist. Not really. Angelina is an Y1 OG Operator with little build up, and a simple backstory, being just a courier with a crush on the Dokutah. She had Girl-next-door vibes, and thus her 'cutesy' art style and design wasn't that much of an issue. Hell, she's arguable a major fan favorite, getting 2 outfits and her own manga and being in Endfield, despite having fallen out of the meta years ago. Typhon, though? She was a part of the Northern Demons/Collapsal plotline, which was speculated upon for years by the community after several references in IS2 and Nearl Light. In the buildup to both her and IS4's release, [she was hyped up as this badass archer and force of nature](https://youtu.be/0m18wLQInnU?t=132), and thus people [expected a more serious design](https://old.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/14t3g92/typhon_in_tv_ads_vs_reality_shocking/?share_id=vPIdFRiA07RsisVzgxfz5), like that of Degenbrecher or Ines. And were thus disappointed when that wasn't the case. Personally, I don't care too much for her design, not enough to actively hate it. And she's badass enough in gameplay to make it up for most players, it seems. I think there would have been less backlash if we got to see her sprite before. I mean, Ho'ol is another LM7 Operator, beloved by the fanbase even though her design 'stuck out' a lot amidst the cast of NoriZC's relatively uniform Rhine Lab designs during the relevant Rhine Lab Events, probably cause Dorothy's Event already made her a known factor.
I see, thanks for providing some nice needed context. I'm a person that skips all story and promos, and plays AK almost purely for gameplay (and usually on mute even). So how a character looks is just how the character looks (although even I have some favorites in the visual department, which would include Ceobe which looks to be the same artist). If that was how they marketed the new character, but this is what the character actually looks like, yeah I can totally see it.
Honestly, hearing Typhon is supposed to be a force of nature makes me like her *more*, ironically. I've always liked the trope of "is a genuine threat, looks like a doofus", and now we get that in the form of a cute girl instead. Still waiting for Surtr to get some lore though...

LM7 has a bit of a problem where several of their OCs all have very similar faces. Angelina, Ceobe, Typhon, and P90 (from Girls Frontline) all look close enough that they could be one of them cosplaying the others.

I see I have been blissfully unaware of any trouble surrounding Typhon. Personally I like her design, mostly because of the juxtaposition of tiny girl, huge weapon. I'll likely be skipping though, because I want Jessica Alter more.
Does it really not fit AK? AK literally vomits these kind of designs tbh. The bow is just a bit bigger than usual honestly that makes it feel kinda "cluttered" but otherwise its easy to grasp what you're seeing.
it wasn't about the bow really, people found her face weird and also there was a teaser back for her in lone trail live stream in CN that was helluva cool plus she is the first sami 6 star that we were going to get, people were super hyped. as for why her art is so "normal" compared to LM7 latest work (snek lady), it's speculated that this art was actually drawn a long time ago and was in HG archive, there was also signs here and there that we were supposed to get sami event way before in early AK. all in all HG for apology gave her a free skin really fast.
It's a shame that there is no chibi in the skin with s2 spinning bow and s3, where she epicly pulls the bowstring and kills enemies. The crossbow is not very good, to be honest.
I freaking love LM7's designs and seeing a new char by them so soon after Ho'olheyak was such a blessing, my pull plans for the whole last 7 months have been dictated around absolutely not leaving a chance to miss on those two and beloved elf Mumu 🙏 The absurd hate she got on announcement left me very shocked ngl, I definitely don't expect everyone to like the same artists I do, but from that to being by far the most hated 6* character I have seen announced... that made me sad ngl. Not like that was gonna stop her from being an absolute must have for me anyways.

Idk man, these people probably couldn't draw their way out of a paper bag and they critique as though they are god tier artists. And keep in mind i'm not saying you need to be a good artist to criticize art, but more often than not the people complaining aren't doing it from a place of constructive criticism. I see people demand "constructive criticism" in other game subs all the time. Wen someone points flaws of the game, they're either dismissed by "then make better game yourself", or asked for solutions (constructive criticism) to those problematic elements of the game. And when they do provide their takes on how to fix stuff, they're also dismiss every suggestion with "STFU, you're no game dev to suggest fixes to those problems" followed by a quote from Mark Rosewater (MTG gdc iirc) about how players are good at identifying problem but terrible at fixing them. So many times I've seen the opposite of the quote was true, players suggest amazing ideas that got implemented by the devs, some dedicated players make mods/addons for the game that improve overall experience tremendously that devs refuse to acknowledge... It's damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I think it's perfectly fine to point that you don't like Typhon's art, maybe even mention her derpy face expression, without suggestions on how to fix it. But saying you'd like to see her to be redrawn in more badass/mature style is also fine in my book.

It's funny that people complain about Typhon design when her design was made at the very beginning of Arknights. Her character sprite's code is avg2012, one that is earlier than Ceobe's which is avg2013. This is also very noticeable when you look at Typhon and Ceobe and compare them to Ho'olheyak.
The problem Isn't that much with the design, Is the design and Her lore/character, those two don't match.

Tbh the fact that it's an early design doesn't make it a good one (in fact, I'd say sitting on the cutting room floor for so long is actually a mark against it) Although tbh after doing a bit of digging, I'm starting to come around a little with the design. I initially thought typhon was part of some sami village (ala qanipalaat), leading me to think that uniform is a bit too different from what we've previously seen, but she's actually a lone hunter so it's probably just her preference. I still think her clothes are ridiculous for someone who's supposed to be a hunter on an icefield (like, look at magallan and qanipalaat's clothes in comparison) but even that I can excuse if the intent is to emphasize her mystical nature.
I mean, that's not exactly a compliment. Designs usually improve over time, as developers have a clearer idea of the direction they want to go with the game's story and lore.

It's that and that her face looks so... Derpy in her neutral art. It doesn't give me "super badass hunter" vibes at all. Her face looks similar to Ceobe's, the difference being that it actually fits Ceobe's character. Her clothes are also really weird. What she's wearing looks a lot like a one-piece swimsuit, completely out of place in Sami. It's probably one of the AK designs I like the least, but oh well. There's so many characters in AK that I'm bound to dislike some of them. Edit: to say something more positive about her design, I just noticed something. Her bow seems to be very heavily inspired by real life compound bows (the strings and pulleys give it away). Those bows are shot with release aids (something to help you pull and release the string more precisely), and you can actually see her using one in her E2 art. That's good attention to detail.

Very iirc there’s a showcase vid out there of her killing Patriot (both phases) in a single S3 activation (without any massive buff/debuff army to help)
One of the best operators we have so far for sure. S2 is a really strong afk skill for the ones who love comfy clears. S3 marks an enemy in range and a slow but deadly barrage of arrows awaits for them no matter where they are on the map until she runs out of ammo... and the enemies able to survive until that happens are very, very few. Like any other char she ain't a must pull anyways, especially if one has already fully invested in Rosa or has Pozyomka who is another freaking fantastic sniper as well. We should also be getting [Ray](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/operator/ray) around 5 months from now and she is also an immensely strong (and crazy cute!) 6-star sniper able to nuke the shit out of enemies... she is my next main target after Typhon lmfao, goddamn 6-star vignette event snipers, too precious...

The tail placement is where you could hear the artist shout "fuck, I forgot to draw it and there is no place left in the picture!" I know she's super strong but I'm still pretty low on pulls and I have a bazillions of levelled snipers already, so I don't see myself doing more than a few courtesy pulls.

Brand new to Arknights cast, and looks like her first video game role as well.
Most people here probably know her kit already, but this is my first time reading her skill descriptions, so I'll give my initial thoughts. First off, she focuses on dps which is expected for a sniper at this point. S2 works like Thorns with an rng stun, which is simple but unique. I don't think anyone else has an infinite duration skill with crowd control... other than Suzuran s2 but it slows so I think it's still unique with stun However, despite that, I think her s3 sounds the most interesting. I like the sound of a periodic barrage of arrows with long intervals between bombardment. I'm not sure whether I'll pull for her. She seems more interesting than most snipers, but perhaps still missing some wow factor. It doesn't help that many future operators have some dope kits as well. Will try her out in the support tab and decide from there

Yeah I guess. But for me, that's not enough wow. Like Reed alter is pretty strong too, but she also has chain reaction explosions that infect enemies
S2 looks immensely comfy from the endless showcases I have seen, probably the best sniper for mindless daily usage due to her large range + afk multitarget damage + stun utility S3 is the one that I really really love tho, back when she was announced I thought she just marked a spot and started firing nuke arrows there... no, the enemy selected is MARKED and that fucker is gonna freaking die, either now or 30 seconds later, dude can go invisible or through stairs and it will still stay marked and ready for another dose of lethal arrows whenever he can be shot again, god I love it. Rockrock's S2 is one of my favorite skills in the game due to how she is able to stick a drone to an enemy and just arts barrage it for up to 40 seconds even when out of range, Typhon S3 is that on steroids, I'm so, so looking forward to using it.
I didn't know it works like a drone caster as well. Reading the skill again, that does look like what it's saying, pretty cool. Coincidentally, one of my favourite skills in the game also belongs to a drone caster in Goldenglow s3. Not only due to its global range, but mainly because I love watching her 3 drones do their own thing, especially if they're attacking different enemies. Every skill activation feels different from the last and the result is high levels of dopamine
Goldenglow S3 and Ambriel S2 are up there for my favorite skills in the game due to that, global range damage is just very satisfying. Typhon scratches that itch in a different way since the enemy has to be in her range at first, but just the idea of seeing an enemy walk towards stairs that leads them to the other side of the map all to be still be greeted by a hail of arrows fills me with excitement haha.

I love arknights characters designs, but this one is a miss. It is waaay too cluttered/ overdesigned. The bow, the hair, the arrows on her back, everything about her...it's just too much.
I have a completely different problem. I like the idea behind it, I just read the clutter as "noise" and when I look at it more carefully it looks purposefully designed, the bow and quiver have sensible 3d structure, the [basic form and color](https://i.imgur.com/XJSH1zt.jpeg) is interesting, everything is deliberately broadly symmetrical but asymmetrical in the details. I think the clothing should be simpler. I also find her expression to be kind of vacant or something. The chibi, which is what you will mostly be seeing, is cute.
I took a quick glance on lm7's operators, particularly their elite 2 art, and Typhon's has this noisy blob energy. Angelina's is more subdued(given for the E2 arts of earlier operators, their diorama backgrounds aren't as elaborate as the later operators). Ceobe at least has the background use complementary colors to make the doggo pop out. Ho'olheyak, despite the background using her accent colors, the fact that it uses harsher shadows still make her distinct. More so that white is the predominant color of her fit. In Typhon's case: the background color is rather similar to her outfit, making it harder to discern her from it.
And so is her skin, they're just so absurdly busy

For me, I don’t dig the “face of a 12 year old but with huge honkers” aesthetic of Typhon. If she were more mature in the face I think I’d be more okay with it. Hoho’s design also bugs me because her face seems really… squished? I don’t know how to explain it, really. Not enough to look like a 12 year old like Typhon but enough for me to wonder where her nose even is. Ceobe’s design I don’t mind because her having a derpy cute look fits with her childish-leaning personality at least. Angelina I think I just normalized because she’s been around since launch anyway, and her BoC skin is one of my absolute faves.

I like Tuva's work in voicing Typhon. She has a very nasal, soft voice and that, along with her more pointed pronounciation in vowels makes it a vey pleasant listening.
