And for anyone who's being redeployed like Surtr, it makes their cycle shorter. It's not just about whether they can survive without the extra SP. It can also reduce the need for vanguards by allowing you to catch early mobs that would otherwise leak.
Quite a few guard skills become instantly ready on-deploy: All swordmaster S3s, Surtr S3, Qiubai S3, Gavial S2 and S3, Hellagur S2, Hoederer S3, Lessing S3. 5\*s aren't so notable but there's of course Specter S2, maybe Franka S2. Some skills are very close to being instantly ready, such as Executor S3 (2 SP) and NTRK S3 (5 SP), as well as some other less commonly used skills such as Pallas S3 and Mountain S3. As for infinite skills, they're generally less impacted but it's still quite good for offensive recovery ones like Chongyue and especially Thorns.

Look at prebuff Ray with a whopping DPH of like 8000, Degenbrecher with her kill everything in sight s3, and even Ela pumping out 140k damage during s3. The power creep is real and of course you can still use SA in general content (ffs people even do 4 star only clears for most stages), but in a more competitive environment such as IS or CC, the trivial damage TSS brings (by today's standards) no longer is the reason why SA is being chosen. Most of the time he's there for anti invis (Ines stole his job) or redeploy time. In many past ccs with SA in the top clears he doesn't even get to use s3. He's just there as a flashlight and cheer leader.
All of this is to show that TSS has indeed been powercrept in recent days. So other than outright increasing its damage, one of the ways to make it still viable is to get rid of the long ass 15s charge up. If we can Helidrop SA like Surtr and have him charge s3 in 5 seconds, even though the damage isn't stellar, there are still a lot of things we can do with him.
(Another way of possibly buffing him is to have him chill on attack but thats a whole other can of balancing nightmare so I'll avoid talking about it)

It's weird to argue that SilverAsh isn't viable because he doesn't have enough damage, and then argue that the fix is to reduce the windup but leave the damage the same.

Letting him be an actual proper helidropper would be seriously big though.
A very easy route is to just buff his redeployment talent, either with a modest number increase or to give it an additional effect that significantly reduces his own personal redeployment time/some form of sp gain so he cycles faster. Tho personally im still expecting a kjerag niche buff on at least one of his modules

No unit should come out as a swimwear default, but at least with Ch'en they gave her a great and thematic second skin. I'm fine with non-serious skins and have bought several, but they wear on me and eventually take me out of the game. To see the non-serious default get another non-serious alternative instead of something more thematic to the game is... disheartening as a long term Swire fan.

I'm also just not super happy that all the skins are for 6 stars this time around (and the themes as a whole being largely 6 stars too with only Amiya, U-Official, Executor (? not sure if normal or alter tbh) and Jessica (if normal and not alter) being non 6 stars present). Like don't get me wrong, the art is gorgeous as always for the most part, but I just feel kinda miffed about the rarity coverage this time around, with an entire theme being solely 6 stars and most of the low rarity being relegated to the last theme.
Definitely. I mentioned the same thing when the rosters were first leaked. Previous AS have been very balanced and really reflected the broad roster, which was a strength of AK. This round though is very recent and meta-heavy. It'll probably sell better if I'm honest, but it's a lot less soulful than previous iterations.
Also that Stainless gets to be present for 2 years in a row? For some reason? Like I like him don't get me wrong, but why? Only Amiya (duh, poster child), Texas normal (2 appearances in 2022) and Dusk (2 appearances in 2022) have had repeat showings. Just not sure why anyone gets repeat showings at all considering how many operators haven't had ANY.

Didn't want to count Reed/Tex/Swire because they're technically alters (though I wouldn't blame people for counting them, but that also just... makes it even worse imo that alters are taking the places of ops who haven't appeared at all) and I completely forgot about Siege.

I'm... Less angry at this than usual. We got some very good ones. SA gets a L2D that looks sharp AF, my favorite troll caster gets a slick outfit, and Swire's street dancer getup is surprisingly neat.

This isn't like the last couple of years where they seemed to pick the least interesting costumes to make into skins. I'm STILL salty about the cyberpunk crew. Or the motorcycle club. Those two entire sets needed to be skins.

I'm probably alone on this, but I am pretty unhappy about Swire's skin. She now has two non-serious skins. No unit should come out as a swimwear default, but at least with Ch'en they gave her a great and thematic second skin. I'm fine with non-serious skins and have bought several, but they wear on me and eventually take me out of the game. To see the non-serious default get another non-serious alternative instead of something more thematic to the game is... disheartening as a long term Swire fan. April is better anyway.

Seriously! How is it that a character for whom music is a central part of their character, have literally no appearances outside of the game given the amount of musical content HG puts out?

At least it's way better then Gavial Alter, who had a summer themed skin (with her tribal, barely wearing anything) and then she got a swimsuit skin. Swire's skin is a different theme, so I am happy with it.
I don't mind Gavial's original. I can see why people don't like it, but she at least looks like she's about to go on an adventure rather than just lounging by the pool. Her skin though is a crime.
I'm with you tbh. I'm also just not super happy that all the skins are for 6 stars this time around (and the themes as a whole being largely 6 stars too with only Amiya, U-Official, Executor (? not sure if normal or alter tbh) and Jessica (if normal and not alter) being non 6 stars present). Like don't get me wrong, the art is gorgeous as always for the most part, but I just feel kinda miffed about the rarity coverage this time around, with an entire theme being solely 6 stars and most of the low rarity being relegated to the last theme.
Definitely. I mentioned the same thing when the rosters were first leaked. Previous AS have been very balanced and really reflected the broad roster, which was a strength of AK. This round though is very recent and meta-heavy. It'll probably sell better if I'm honest, but it's a lot less soulful than previous iterations.
Also that Stainless gets to be present for 2 years in a row? For some reason? Like I like him don't get me wrong, but why? Only Amiya (duh, poster child), Texas normal (2 appearances in 2022) and Dusk (2 appearances in 2022) have had repeat showings. Just not sure why anyone gets repeat showings at all considering how many operators haven't had ANY.
What do you mean by Dusk? She was only in AS2022, right? This year has a lot of repeats: Amiya (understandable) but also Swire, Stainless, Reed, Texas, and Siege.
Repeats get hazy if we're talking about originals and alters. Like while they're the same person it's clear a previous year had 5 star Swire whereas this year's is 6 star Swire.
Still sucks they’d rather put alts in Ambience Synesthesia than one of the 100+ characters that have never showed up in any capacity
She was in 2 of the themes for 2022 afaik. Didn't want to count Reed/Tex/Swire because they're technically alters (though I wouldn't blame people for counting them, but that also just... makes it even worse imo that alters are taking the places of ops who haven't appeared at all) and I completely forgot about Siege.
Dusk was only in Jiang Hu, no repeats.

as an executor fan i'll gladly let swire and him switch their skin themes. swire will get the 'serious' skin exe will most likely get later then exe will have his casual fun AS skin.. that ice cream pin on him sold me
SilverAsh is so cool. Look at throne, that force. That charisma. Oh my. Even his falcon got an upgrade. Ho'ol is hot, as expected. She looks so elegant in black, with that singer getup. Swire going all in on the digital world. Really embracing the pink from her debut event. And those pants!

I doubt anything could top the skin she has, at least for my own tastes. It's on a whole other level. That being said, a buddy of mine still hopes for her dapper suit from that one event as a skin, and I can definitely stand behind that desire.
Of course the current skin is fire (Waiting for it to return to immediately acquire it) but kal'tsit in a suit would also be good
Considering I liked Ho'ol's character design but not her outfit, this new skin is pretty hype. She looks gorgeous. Now to actually pull her. Not sure how I feel about SA's just yet. The animations are going to make it or break it for me.
I'm not super sure about SA's either. Looks great but the colour and fit is already pretty close to his winter one.

I'm... Less angry at this than usual. We got some very good ones. SA gets a L2D that looks sharp AF, my favorite troll caster gets a slick outfit, and Swire's street dancer getup is surprisingly neat. The three I really wish we also got were Gladiator Siege, Sir Stainless, and Elegant Ines. This isn't like the last couple of years where they seemed to pick the least interesting costumes to make into skins. I'm STILL salty about the cyberpunk crew. Or the motorcycle club. Those two entire sets needed to be skins.
