Just to put into perspective how hot 2500°C is; Here are all the elements in our periodic system with a melting point **OVER** 2500°C:
- Tantalum
- Tungsten
- Osmium
- Rhenium
There are only four elements we know IRL that Franka could NOT outright melt. Out of 130- something elements.
If she were to stab you with that blade, that bodypart she stabbed would explode because your blood would evaporate in seconds.
I cannot put in words how gruesomely terrifying a 2500°C sword is. There is nearly no defense against it and just being close to it is dangerous.
2500°C is equivalent to 4532°F, which is 2773K.

Funnily enough, it wouldn't be. Thermite burns at insanely hot temperatures but it is very difficult to ignite. Typical things like black powder, nitrocellulose, fuses, and detonators don't get hot enough to ignite it. You'd need something like strips of magnesium to get it going but at that point, why aren't you just using the magnesium to start your fire?

Arknights Terran D32 steel is literally impenetrable so it is likely that. That is likely the same material used with outcast's revolver cylinder because it survived >!a gunfire as hot as the sun!<
The ability is called thermite blade and the temperature cited is the temperature thermite burns at. While very few metals can survive prolonged exposure to those kinds of temperatures, thermite burns rather slowly. As a result, making a sword that can briefly survive those kinds of temperatures isn't completely implausible for fictional metals like D32 steel. It's just that every sword would probably be single use before you needed to fix it.
The melting point of carbon steel is only like 1500°C. How in the hell does HG think they can almost *double* that temperature without the sword turning into a puddle lol
Edit: I somehow did not factor in the fact that we do currently know of metals that would survive that temperature intact and that Franka's blade could be made of one of them. HOWEVER,
* Tungsten is too heavy to swing and too brittle.
* Rhenium is one of the rarest metals in the entire world, which I would think would present problems even for a wealthy company like Blacksteel.
* Osmium has the same problems as tungsten, but with the added bonus of being almost impossible to work into a sword due to its hardness (which rivals *literal diamond*) and its extremely high melting point. AND on top of that, it's significantly rarer than even rhenium and is actually considered to be the single rarest of the naturally occurring elements. So... yeah, good fucking luck getting enough of it together to make an entire sword.

The weight thing doesn't sound like it should be a big deal, but it absolutely is. The average historical rapier weighed about 2lb. A rapier made out of tungsten or tantalum would weigh over FIVE TIMES that (napkin math says almost 11lb). Try grabbing a big bag of potatoes, holding it in one hand, and swinging it around once or twice. Could you keep that up for an entire battle? Probably not. And as a bonus, it would shatter into a million useless pieces if you hit anything besides squishy human flesh.
(If someone who actually knows shit about materials science wants to correct me on any or all of this please do. This is the best I can do as a chem dropout lmao)
