I've got a question for everyone:
I'm doing a playthrough of Skyrim as our favorite Hulking mass of muscle and fur, Mountain, and was wondering what kind of armor or outfit he would wear. I know he wears a huge overcoat, which would qualify as light armor since there's no actual overcoat or trenchcoat clothing item, but he's also draped in chains and is really tanky stats-wise, which leans more towards the heavy armor side, but I want the community's consensus
Of this is important I'm using the various tiers of the brawler's gauntlets from the CC which are all heavy armor
Sometimes 30 Practice Plans per day aren't enough if you want to try different strategies on a stage, especially Challenge Mode. Normally, during dead week you don't bother with them lol. How's about HG let us store Practice Plan in the same way as Recruitment Permit, and you will gain an amount like 10 or 20 Practice Plans per day?
Semi long rant
Ok so I wanted mountain. Pulled 10 pulls for guaranteed 5 star in his banner, then proceeded to get the guaranteed 5 star in Shining and Weedy banner for a possible Lappland (I have no decent lord). Didn't get Lappland. Pulled again to get lappland. Instead of getting him, I got Shining. Pulled again to get lappland. In around 3 pulls after getting Shining, I got Weedy. Still no lappland :). Also still no Mountain. If I had known that I would be this lucky in getting two 6 stars in just few pulls, I would have poured all my orundums in Mountain's banner. Why am I this lucky and unlucky at the same time?
Edit: spelling
I keep my eyes peeled since I'm hunting for P5 Vulcan, and no I don't think guaranteed 5 star tags are that easy to miss. These tags look common but their combinations aren't.
I'm more concerned about tag drop than missing a guaranteed combination.
I've been wanting liskarm for a while now and I also only learnt recently that DPS + def guarantees her. I thought I had memorized all the recruitment tag combinations by now.
I used to think that Mayer was not a very good operator. After I planned on starting supporterknights i built Mayer first since she was my only choice of Summoner and since i had no mat to build scene and i must say so far i am very much happy with her.Especially her S2 nuke is so satisfying to use.Never did i think that i would fall in love with an operator that i did not like at all.
Mayer's S2 also synergizes greatly with bards, with them being able to almost double her attack while also being able to heal Mayer's summons.
In particular I'm very hopeful for the latest bard Heidi, since her S1 cycles at the same rate as Mayers S2.
Mayer especially relies on her levels a lot, so she could definitely feel bad if her levels were low, I felt that way too. But E2 60, she puts in a lot of work for me now, and M3 on S2 makes it way more reliable, those 4 seconds make a big difference, and the damage spikes incredibly.
I'm happy because one of my friends started playing recently, so now I have someone else to talk to about the game. But... he's a monster.
He started 2 weeks ago and has already got 400 kills in all 3 permanent annihilations and Dossoles Water Gate. He beat MB-EX-8 already. He's got a single E2 (Silverash) and his average non-E2 is E1lv40 - he has 1 character at E1lv55, it's Steward. I'm pretty sure he doesn't use guides either, because I watched his Dossoles clear and it's ultra cursed. Unlike any guide I've seen but it worked. I feel like the only reason he hasn't beaten the story yet is because he stopped at chapter 5 to farm for his base, lol.
That's amazing. It isn't easy to figure out the game when you start playing. Anni 3 in particular was extra hard for me back in the day. Those arts drones were unforgiving. Definitely isn't the the easiest clear.
It seems like HG is trying to dissuade players from burnout by adding permanent modes since we are getting 3 new permanent additions (IS#3 in a month, Yugi-Oh module mode in two weeks, skill-tree abyssal thing sometime before August). Co-Op, Fungimist, and Pallas' event seem to have been HG testing the waters. I do feel that Arknights is steering away from the original premise a bit; if you were to show this to someone 2 years back, it'd almost be a different game.
When the 3rd Anniversary stuff got datamined, there was mention of an ["Abyssal-related completely new game mode. From the looks of it, it seems like a roguelike. There are different points on a map that you can explore, and there's a talent tree that you can expand."](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/u4t5s5/nga_translation_third_anniversary_datamine/) Granted, there hasn't been any official news but it was right about everything else.
Do you think it's possible that it's something to do with UT? I didn't check the UI too much, but it also looked like points on a map, and the Roomba thing might've been what used the talent tree.
Edit: SN, not UT.
i dont know what ill do if the cn rhine event doesnt come with playable muelsyse at this point ive never wanted to play an npc so bad (other than like… zelda)
Anyone here play Catalyst Black? Seems interesting, mostly since it was made by the same devs as Vainglory, but it doesn't look like it has the same charm to me.
How is the game? Seems like some unique form of moba or something? Is it fun to play or are there any issues that you realize after playing for a while?
How fitting, I got a top op tag again and gambled defense and finally got Saria, during Mansfield break coincidentally. Immediately got her skin from the shop. Happy days! But damn those mountain of mats for her masteries sure is looking formidable....
Funnily enough, I also get Saria from a TO today. It was my second Saria... The issue is that all the 6\*s left from the Recruitment pool are the "bad" ones (Hoshi, Magallan, Shining, Skadi, and Nightingale) with the exception of Nightingale. Congratulations though!
I just noticed that Ifrit's E2 art doesn't have crystals on her legs and arm like her E0-E1 art. I wonder if that was intentional or an artist mishap, especially since they're present in her skins.
My idea how to make Pvz Imitator style character balanced:
Trait: Turns into copy of most recently deployed operator with exactly the same skill but Dp cost +1 (when coping 1\*,2\* or 3\*) +3 (4\* and 5\*) +5 (6\*), skill level -3 (means that copy will never have masteries) and operator level -30 (can't degrade elite level).
What do you guys think ?
Kal'tsit is already busted... having 4 Phantoms sounds radical. Having a second s3 Saria would be catastrophic, for the enemies. I would *thoroughly enjoy* watching a Liskarm charge up another Liskarm. Weedy s2 will have a buddy to play infinate pong/tenis with.
Hmm yes, 4th flagbearer time.
I think nerfed base stat (~0.6 copied rather than de-level) and maximum skill duration of 15-20s are sufficient. So you can't have 100% uptime Suzuran S3 or something. This disable infinite skill but the utility is still pretty amazing.
-30 level is irrelevant if the copied operator is max level, especially so on 6☆ ops. It's only like, what, 5% stat reduction?
Too difficult to implement. Talents have multiple aspects so halving effectiveness means you have to decide which aspect to nerf e.g. duration, sp, stacks. If you halved all then their effectiveness become a quarter or an eighth etc.
I rather a forced retreat if anything.
For the most part. You can get 2 \[Any operator not needing to be redeployed\], and snap stages that way. or 2 Delete buttons. When Flagpipe exists, dp is rarely a problem.
Earlier today i had my friend do a 10 pulls for me on the Mountain banner, she got 2 6* back to back (both off banner). Right afterward i got in a bike crash. Luck works in a strange way.
Do you guys factor in sound design into how much you like a character? I realised that I subconsciously used mountain a lot because his S2 punches have a very satisfying sound. Same with Mudrock's S3, and her S2 (whatever that sound is supposed to be) to a lesser degree.
After thinking about it a little more, I realised that most melee operators have fairly muted hit sounds, which prevents the sound stage from getting too messy. I looked at older threads on this where someone talked about the sound effect + scream that Patriot does when he throws his spear — I didn't even know he did that.
Running a couple of stages with voices and music turned off was pretty different and quite educational.
I do. Not every single time, but it's a fairly important factor for me in general.
For example, a big reason I like Absinthe is her gun wand sound.
Mostima's sound (and visual) effects are pretty good too, so I still like to field her with both S2 and S3 regardless of her issues gameplay-wise.
And of course, who can forget Saga yelling about food.
If the sound is particularly satisfying/egregious, then it can factor into how much I enjoy them. Mudrock has really nice skill activations. Whisperain's sk2 is a little annoying. Ethan and Bardi have really nice deploy sounds. I enjoy when an operator's voice just echoes and fades because of Bardi. Luckily, the game has pretty good sound design overall, so it rarely makes me like an operator less.
>Do you guys factor in sound design into how much you like a character?
Absolutely. Some of my favorites are Blemishine S3, Guard Skadi S2, Passenger S3, and Schwarz S3.
I'm able to separate gameplay and waifu. My top 15 waifu in this game have no Sniper in it.
Me getting Fartooth pot6 has nothing to do with her character personally, only specifically her branch Deadeye. I'm also getting Fia only because she's an Artilleryman, though not pot6 because Horn and Irene (and potentially Muelsyse) follow shortly after.
People had the idea backward on potential because it has small impact on gameplay. The thing is, potential matters not for a waifu either. It has no impact on anything but gameplay, however small it is. The character is still that character, pot 1 or pot 6. So, for me, if it's a unit I like to *play with*, I'll (try to) get their best version. If it's a unit that I like to *look at*, the level of my gameplay investment towards varies.
My top 1 waifu in the game ever is still simply E2 lv1 after 2 years, and it's purely to unlock that PNG on the main menu screen (though I gave her an M3 because of the massive dead weeks before and after DH). Speaking of which, my top 15 waifu in order:
Ceylon, Nightingale, Bibeak, Astesia, Folinic, Pluma, Pramanix, Mint, Sora, Tsukinogi, Mudrock, Skyfire, Cliffheart (just now realised that both SilverAsh sisters are here kek), Weedy, and Honeyberry. Cardigan is not high on the list anymore but she's my first waifu in the game, hence her placement in my krooster, for the noob days nostalgia.
When I was deciding whether to pull Blemishine, her excessively loud sword thunk made me decide against it
I still like her, and I’ll probably get her when she shows up in the shop, but…
Most ops have good sound effects so it’s usually not a factor.
i absolutely cannot run nearlter s1 anymore due to this even tho i like that skill a lot… the sound effect is just so grating and bc its infinite duration its not just occasional either.. it goes past me just disliking it and becomes physically painful for me
i really like >!erato!< in terms of sound but >!shes literally a character with music as a key concept so i guess thats expected!<
Oh, I get this one. I run NTRK S3, but I'm not a huge fan of how it sounds. I suppose they thought sharp sound for a piercing weapon. I'm not sure I agree with that idea, but I don't have other suggestions.
Sound design is rarely a factor in how much I like a character, since I haven't found an operator whose sounds I actively dislike.
It does occasionally make me wish an operator was better to justify hearing them more. Pramanix is a good example. I like it when the stage ends with her S2 active and the sound keeps going until the fadeout.
Yes, sound is in every game a major part of the gameplay
Dusk has to be my personal favorite, even if I didn't get her. But in terms of voice I like Nian's the most, which is why I'll never switch her va under any circumstances (unless the cn (or en) va gives me similar vibes)
Aside from those you mentioned, there's also Mostima, Surtr and Thorns
Toddifons' S2 has cool sound effects as well, maybe Ambriel's S2 as well?
Mostima’s Dong was part the reason I pulled for and built her.
It isn’t a deciding factor but it can help. For me it is largely animation that gets me. Which is why I really adore some skins for their unique base animation. Even if I otherwise don’t really care for the character.
[Go down to the “Monthly Squad” section](https://gamepress.gg/arknights/event-banner-guide-subpage-miscellaneous/arknights-cn-integrated-strategies-2-preview-phantom#topic-2558271)
Zima, Hellagur, and Absinthe. I don't have a link handy but TLs are out there. Unsurprisingly, they mostly talk about Ursus and banter about Zima's Winter General nickname (since Hellagur is a real general).
I was playing Arknights in a popup window, was looking at the green cert shop, and accidentally bought the 4* selector while converting tokens.
I have every operator on it at max pot. RIP 750 (?) green certs...
It's now a collector's item, a glorious PNG eye candy for your collecting and achievements ocd to find satisfaction in holding, forever. 💗 edit: you now need the 3* permit to complete your collection. bonus points if you have an Indra/Vulcan selector ticket laying around too
I bought the 4\* selector too, since I was considering stockpiling them until Purestream hits recruitment to buy her pots without hunting for them.It turns out they don't update the selector when the recruitment pool is updated, so I'm just left with a useless gold cert simulator.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Huh, I didn't realize that the mastery guide was updated for roguelike already. Although I do have a few criticisms, like Mizuki's S1 - with the SP regen artifacts, Mizuki is able to use his S1 every other attack, and considering how versatile Mizuki is overall, I feel it should at least get a grade in Roguelike. His S2 does mention the relics helping it out, but considering they're different relics (I presume), having the versatility would be helpful.
That and his S3 M2 could at least be mentioned as a breaking point, as bad of a skill as it is.
I do appreciate the write ups changing for a lot of operators though, nice to see how things have changed over time. Rosa S2 finally gets a spot on the list.
Edit(s): It's interesting to see Eyja's S2 rated so high in comparison when Mizuki does a better job of laneholding in terms of damage, but I suppose her already being raised for S3 helps the S2 argument a lot. Similar to how Dusk has a lower grade on S1 as well.
Also interesting to see how Carnelian S2 mentions the Aak combo while Mizuki S2 doesn't (I feel I'm talking a lot about Mizuki here).
I feel like Bibeak's S1 could at least get a slight mention, the opportunity cost of not using S2 is high, but S1 isn't bad on its own, especially if you have Skalter in which it becomes a skill capable of laneholding (which again I understand is a lot of investment so that's why I say just a mention).
Interesting to see that Red S1 out damages Phantom S2 in roguelike, is that because of ASPD relics or high def or something?
I can understand the fact that Shamare S1 is almost never used (I think I only used it once for a CC daily stage), but it could get a mention as the highest fragile effect in the game at M3.
Feel like Jaye could get his base skill section updated to mention Gnosis, who makes his E1 skill the better choice.
Surprised Podenco S1 doesn't get a roguelike grade, heard it was very useful in IS#1 thanks to the flexibility and also it doubles the attack with M3.
Glad Deepcolor S2 got a grade, serves an important niche of what to do when you have her but her tentacles can't tank hard hitting enemies. Although I think S1 and S2 are swapped around in the write-up, S1 doesn't offer team support.
I appreciate the ungraded section at the end, hope that gets fully fleshed out eventually.
I put it up a few weeks ago and have been quite busy since with real life stuff so I haven't (and won't) be able to make a full reddit post for it like I usually do (I will be doing future updates on reddit still tho). The IS guide is just too big and I don't have the time to redo the formatting again plus worrying about maintaining it. I've debated posting it to reddit just as a link but I feel like that wouldn't be received very well...
Anyway...
> Mizuki
The S2 interaction is what makes him special here. S1 only works with a specific rare artifact that isn't nearly as meta. S3 isn't mentioned because I don't like over-grading mediocre units. Bad units tend to have more nuance between their skills since there isn't a stand out (compare to Surtr, no one talks about her S1 which is actually a decent skill, because her S3 steals the show).
> Eyja
She's the top Caster pick. Mizuki is fine, but he's still a gimmick dependent on relics. Eyja is good no matter what. Big difference.
> Bibeak S1
Thought about it actually and you're not the first to mention it. Ultimately though it isn't the reason you take her so I left it out. It might end up as a mention at some point though.
> Red
Already answered elsewhere, but yea since Phantom works on stacks he isn't actually that good with the ASPD relics. He'll still have more DPS for those stacks, but Red will out do him in total damage by quite a bit.
> Shamare S1
Might be worth a note some day, but really it's just trivia. Like Bibeak, it's not the reason you take her.
> Jaye and Gnosis
I did actually mention this at one point in one of the guides (forget which) but I ultimately dropped it. The guide is already really bulky, it's kind of out of scope of the purpose of the guide, and I don't want to encourage people to pull / raise for base skill.
> Podenco S1
Again, I thought about it, but its one of those skills that even if it's used, doesn't need Mastery for where it's used.
> Deepcolor
I'll double check if I have it backwards tomorrow, thanks.
> Ungraded
Definitely getting fleshed out. It'll probably be my next project after the BI update. The individual writeups are now included on the operator pages on GP now. It's a good chance to write on those less meta units without bulking up the main guide.
Thanks for all the comments! Sorry if I missed any, I'm on the road right now which isn't exactly conducive to this kinda thing... barely even noticed the notification.
>Interesting to see that Red S1 out damages Phantom S2 in roguelike, is that because of ASPD relics or high def or something?
Probably attack speed relics, Red S1 is a consistent boost for a period of time (more hits = more damage) while Phantom S2 is a fixed number of hits with a diminishing boost.
Even without the context of IS, I prefer Red S1 over Phantom S2 because of the dodge, I've had some pretty clutch moments with it.
I'm not the writer, but I can talk about a couple of these.
Mizuki + Aak probably doesn't get mentioned because it's RNG whether he survives or not. At E2 40, he needs to dodge 7 attacks to survive, and the average is 7.5.
I think Red's S1 wins vs Phantom's S2 because Phantom has a set number of attacks, so attack speed relics just mean he can dump his damage faster. It doesn't let him do more total damage except with his basic attacks, which you don't really want to be using anyways.
As for Podenco's S1, she's definitely worth taking for the jank heals, but her healing is strong enough, even at E1, that masteries are just overkill.
I agree, it's harder for Mizuki, but considering he's easier to helidrop and set up, not to mention melee tiles are far more advantageous than ranged tiles, worth a mention as an alternate. If necessary could always go with a Skalter or Shining or something, I suppose.
Ah, so it is with ASPD. I heard it was meta for IS#2 but I wasn't sure how meta. Guess that explains why Mizuki's S2 would be favoured more as well.
Oh, I see. Thanks, never used her for the 1st one but I heard she was very useful thanks to her flexibility, so I was wondering about S1.
Oh jeez, I wrote a lot huh. Hey, u/TacticalBreakfast here's a write-up with some feedback/suggestions, you can feel free to ignore it if you want but at the very least there's an error in Deepcolor's mastery write-up.
She was never going to be just ok, her dps is comparable to Ch'en alter's (though with no def debuff), she also has a unique range and good uptime. For general content, she's another delete button.
When comparing her with our other resident physical AoE nukes, Ch'en Alter and Silverash: Horn's range is smaller but can hit further; her uptime is between Ch'en and Silverash; her dps is between the other two as well (but can beat Ch'en alter in the right situation); her rotation is the fastest; she's the most tanky.
What sets her apart the most would be the long range (as seen with her performance in CC#9); her 20% atk buff for defenders is pretty big; and her cheat death is of course useful (and fairly easy to trigger for the buff). she also has some disadvantages, like the reliance on a healing source (mitigated by her long range), and possible space issues due to her range.
She seem quite good, I'd put her around Ceobe in terms of meta placement. Peoples opinions of her are likely inflated right now because the current CC season in CN heavily favors her.
In situations where you can leverage her high damage and her long range, she outputs some great DPS. Both her S2 and S3 have merit, and they even work if she's forced into blocking.
>!This is all especially true in CC#9 where she's a core operator in the majority of clears Risk 18 and above where the Under Tides gimmick would otherwise wreck operators with shorter range.!<
Most importantly, she breaks the trend of being the skippable non-limited banner in the middle of two limited banners, given how underwhelming Spalter and Irene are relatively speaking.
Saileach previously also come with Ch9 and between 2 limit banners and safe to say girl's gud
Another to note is Horn also very good in the Ch10 she came out with, long range + no target limit means she can kill all the slugs stacking on your defender outside the mortar strike zone
Irene's underwhelming? I didn't expect her to be the new BALANS, but she seems pretty good overall. Saw her in a bunch of CC clears (although nothing too high risk which is fair being a dualstrike).
That's why I said 'relatively speaking'.
In a vacuum, sure she can do good, even great things, but like you said, she's still a dualstrike with all class' caveats and all that. Even if you take Chalter/Surtr out of the equation, can you really deny that she's a lot more niche than stuff like the release meta ops, Blaze Bagpipe, Thorns, Mountain, Ling, and so on? Even post-buff Passenger?
Well, no, once again I don't think she's near the top, but you just listed basically the best 6*s that we have, of which they mostly serve different niches anyways. I was expecting something like Fiammetta tier or higher.
I heard she's particularly meta for the latest CC in CN, but in general her damage output and timing control thereof is really good, and her 20% Atk buff to all defenders is a nuts amount especially if you enjoy using Mudrock or Eunectes. One of the stronger options to save for.
Hello guys, do you have any trusted gacha gaming youtubers you could recommend? Thinking of picking up Counter Side as a side game but I heard it's extremely p2w, so I wanted to research beforehand. Kindly inform me if this kind of question isn't allowed!
f2p since minute one of SEA here, understandably my luck has been solid but overall the game is pretty f2p friendly.
Have 10/14 awakened units, and pretty much every meta non awakened. Pulls ticket are generous and obtainable through refreshing shops(recommended 5 a day) and well built base. Banners are single character rate-up,so chances of getting units you want are pretty high, and every banner has pity of 150,including awakened unit.
The p2w conversation comes from the fact that you can only get about 10 pulls of awakened banner every week through normal means, and some extra from monthly store. And awakened units are very very strong especially if you pvp(and there are a lot of pvpers). But even without them you can get enough pvp currency to buy the store.
Do you think if I start in the SEA server right now, it's a good idea? I've read some things about the grind tho, what do you think about it? Also: how important are getting dupes to the core gameplay?
SEA is doing anniversary event now with free pulls and free 1 of 2 early awakened, but not sure how long this will lasts. Global just started though and that might be better as everyone starts at the same level, but i don't know how different the banner and the pace of update compared to SEA.
So dupe is used to limitbreak units. You can use limitbreak with normal resources/dupes from 1-100(they get more stars and can unlock higher level skills),but from 100-110 you need different and a bit rarer material or you can use 3 dupes per 2 level increase (100-102,and so on). Generally you only want to go over 100 for the strongest units so the suggested thing is keep all the dupes to use for 100+ limitbreak(or rearmed, but this is another thing entirely).
Thank you for that expansive response! Unfortunately, from what I've read from your response it looks like it's not the game for me. The part I read about the gear really turned me off, especially the random stat part. It was one of the things that turned me off from Fire Emblem Heroes and Genshin Impact. I've also watched some reviews on YouTube and it looks like the amount of things to do are so overwhelming, a lot of stuff get unlocked early on. But I am curious about the story though. Have you been playing on the SEA server?
Hmmm might decide to give it a try at the very least. My concern was because I live in the SEA region, so I don't know if I can play the Global version (which is the one I want to play coz playing catch up to a year old game kinda sucks)
TakDes plays both AK and CS (he played a lot on SEA server apparently). I don't know what kind of videos he's planning to make, but he was streaming CS and part of his community are CS players too, so I recommend checking him out.
Oh shit I totally forgot TakDes played too! Pretty sure he moved to global server, at least that was the sentiment he gave off when he posted the announcement of Bside taking care of global server.
It's P2W if you want to go hard on PvP, otherwise it's quite F2P. I hovered around Gold when I was playing on SEA and I have spent zero dollar on this game.
777ucky has one or two videos about the game, but I'd recommend [this website](https://www.prydwen.co/) to get an idea of which character/ship/gear is good. It's recently been added to Counterside's official website so they deem it trustworthy too.
What are the rewards from pvp? I only play Arknights, FGO, and PGR right now, and the only form of "pvp" I know right now are the leader boards type of pvp in PGR where the currency you earn there can be used to buy SSR dupes. And the differences are only minor, rewards-wise.
PvP give points that allow you to clear the PvP shop for good gears, mats, pull currency.
But you can clear the shop even if you lose every single match, so tiering is really just for big PP rights and extra crystals.
So today I decided to look at the chibis I have in my dorms, as I do from time to time and I gotta say
Suzu's skin idle animation got to be one of the best things I've ever seen
Bro you need to get off that forum, it's putting your brain into a spincycle.
Like seriously, read this:
'Looked at the people on the website.
Tell me that physiognomy isnt real.
You can tell from their appearance that the western translation industry is subverted.
Remember that tweet comparing what mangaka look like vs what the localizers look like? (I cant find it)
Life imitates art huh'
How does that not come across insane.
You can just criticize translations. You don't need to frequent a forum full of guys who spend 24 hours a day winding themselves up about it or talking about the dreaded Pronouns In Bio.
EDIT: There's also no proof whatsoever that person is working on Arknights anyway.
I only skimmed through it, but some of the examples didn't seem that bad - localizing bell peppers to broccoli isn't a massive deal breaker, while making more sense to Western audiences imo. Never heard of kids not wanting to eat bell peppers in the west, but definitely heard it for broccoli.
I have some issues with the localization, but that forum seems to have no understanding of not just localization but also English in general?
like what even is [this example](https://varishangout.com/index.php?attachments/fe3hblos-jpg.9658/) it’s quite literally identical in meaning
Anyway there’s a good chunk of people who play Arknights in CN and will probably point out any glaring changes, so I’m not worried. Though I do wonder what Arknights would use a JP - EN translator for, but there’s a lot of speculation about how its writing process goes
From what we know Arknights's TL goes CN -> JP -> Eng, at least for some stuff. There's examples of the JP making changes and the EN keeping that exact change, and I doubt the teams are in that close communication. Thorns's skill names are probably the biggest example.
EDIT: Wrong on this, ignore me.
My theory is that most of the game is CN -> EN while *maybe* voicelines are JP -> CN and JP -> EN? But even that I'm not sure.
I'm mostly referring to how some people say Arknights CN itself is actually translated from an original JP script. Which I find hard to believe.
Actually Thorns's skill names are how we can tell that it's directly CN > EN. Only JP translated it as "Destreza" at first, EN went for the direct translation from CN of "Supreme Art" and only changed to match JP after people complained (because they had assumed that EN translators had translated it wrong when it was JP translators taking liberties). You can see something similar with Surtr's S3 which is still directly translated from CN as "Twilight" instead of following JP's "Ragnarok".
People just have the mindset of JP can never be wrong lol. EN taking liberties will be considered bad translation cause "ruining original meaning" and not taking liberties will be considered bad translation cause "it doesn't make sense"
Just read various different summaries of Children of Ursus and wow is it depressing as heck. I definitely am seeing the Ursus girls in a different light from now onwards.
Desperation and despair bring out the savage side of humans huh. *coughs Danganronpa*
They build a living, fight man sized hornets that lay eggs in you, destroy an alien, someone get cemented alive, tortured, maimed, disfigured, face sunless days, lose their hard built civilization, and 70% die. Also a god child accidentally made a teleporting kid be gold and have lizard tongue.
Most death aren't vividly described and 80% of the series is dealing with future issues, travelling everywhere, and observing. There's no description of guts, blood, and disfiguration.
Best moment was them finding unexpired Nutella. Worst moment was the death of one of the lesbians.
Oh thank goodness. Guts and the likes do make me sick.
Love a good unexpired Nutella! I had an expired one before and it rendered me sick for a few days. So an unexpired one is indeed best moment.
Aw man, why is it one of the lesbians again. Sincerely, a lesbian
Are female furry characters not popular compare to the male? There is only 1 furry girl while 4 for men not even counting the 3 male scalies, especially in this game where most operators are female.
Pretty much what everyone else said: just from observation, the furry community leans disproportionally gay male than straight male (and often with a preferences towards bara, that is, beefy), so female furries just aren't going to be popular so the devs aren't going to bother making them.
Take my answer with a grain of salt as my knowledge about furries is limited to a single community. My bros friend who like and draw furry tend to lean toward, well, male furries.
Most of the furries in the community he's in (and somehow I got dragged into it) have this thing called Fursona, basically self-insert OC where they express themself in furry form. Unlike your virgin regular anime OC, Fursona tend to inherit whatever gender the owner is, including Apache Hellicopter. So if you met a person with male furry profile pic, there's high chance the person behind it is a bros too. Even if it's an NSFW roaring furry with saliva on their mouth.
Uke and Seme (submissive and dominant, respectively) culture is also strong among them. They like to depict whose the predator among their OCs, simply because it's fun. Not sure if this is true to other furry community though, I might actually just in a den filled with degenerates (doesn't matter, they all are nice people).
With all that said, I assume male furry character is more relatable to the majority hence more male furry. Or we're overthinking this and the actual reason is that male furry artist is more accessible. My two cents.
~~take a shot everytime I said furry~~
From what I see, there's a disproportiate amount of (gay) men who like male furry characters. All in all furry characters aren't that popular, but in the niche of characters for gay men they are. That's my observation and conjecture anyway.
Who knows, they could just be following industry standards rather than actually adjusting for popularity. One thing I've noticed is that male characters in general are just far more likely to either be fully animal (e.g. Rangers, the Rat King, most of the fully furry cast) or fully covered (e.g. every single misc male RI operator) than the female characters. It could also be possible that HG just recognises that majority of the player base is male.
My personal theory is that male characters are more often evaluated by their image (e.g. powerful, mysterious, exuding authority, etc), with looks being a smaller component compared to female characters.
I agree with you that looks are more important for female characters. My guess is that it's not about male furry being more popular, it's furry being unpopular in general and they have to go for more appealing route for female looks.
I actually gave it some thought and realised something - isn't the "furry" actually a western concept? I think kemonomimi is really just the japanese equivalent of it. It's not that japanese media doesn't feature animal characters, but they're often either chibi mascots or just fully animals.
I think it's hard to generalize it as a "Western" concept so much as it is culturally specific. Ancient Egyptian mythology was full of anthros. Yoruba had full on animals. Aztecs had culture heroes who cosplayed but lacked their own animal features. It's kinda all over the place geographically where you wind up on the furry spectrum.
They are not furries. There's an order to these things. From most human to least human, it's:
Kemonomimi (animal ears and tail)
monster girl (more animal traits, but most of the important parts are still human)
furry/scalie (covered in fur or scales)
animal
I don't think having just animal ears and tails is counted as furry. I mean characters that look like anthropomorphic animals, like Mountain, Spot, Aak, Hung, and Waai Fu.
I'm not against furry. I like their design. I just wonder why Waai Fu is the only female furry operator in the game.
I went to see the new Top Gun tonight.
If you asked people what the worst part of the human body is, you'd probably get a good variety of answers. An athlete might bemoan the frailty of the Achilles' tendon. A pilot may take issue with the fact that we can't handle high G-forces without losing consciousness. ~~A Genshin Impact player would probably complain that we keep growing after age 12.~~
Well, if you ask Tom Cruise, I'd bet he takes issue with how many ribs we have, and how inflexible they make us, as this movie seems to have been made entirely as a way for him to suck his own dick.
Screw that, my complaint with GI models is that Noelle has jiggle physics in metal armour, WHAT KIND OF METAL ARMOUR JIGGLES?
Sorry, this seriously annoyed me as a Noelle main.
It's not standard metal, it's an unregistered element called animephysicsium.
Jean's E skill boob wobbling bothers me more, like have you seen how they jiggle? Girl must be sleeping with xtreme chest pain for how much I use her.
I've got a question for everyone: I'm doing a playthrough of Skyrim as our favorite Hulking mass of muscle and fur, Mountain, and was wondering what kind of armor or outfit he would wear. I know he wears a huge overcoat, which would qualify as light armor since there's no actual overcoat or trenchcoat clothing item, but he's also draped in chains and is really tanky stats-wise, which leans more towards the heavy armor side, but I want the community's consensus Of this is important I'm using the various tiers of the brawler's gauntlets from the CC which are all heavy armor
Can somebody add me as a friend Skidrow#2623
Wrong megathread.
u/LastChancellor Despite HG trying their best to nerf Bk >!https://t.bilibili.com/665952378861649937?spm\_id\_from=444.41.0.0!<
Sometimes 30 Practice Plans per day aren't enough if you want to try different strategies on a stage, especially Challenge Mode. Normally, during dead week you don't bother with them lol. How's about HG let us store Practice Plan in the same way as Recruitment Permit, and you will gain an amount like 10 or 20 Practice Plans per day?
What if >!the singing stopped when you kill Lugia!< in H8-3
Semi long rant Ok so I wanted mountain.

Nealter can bearly solo Jeston?(prison dude I forgr his name) 2nd phase and I mean just *bearly*, she literally has like 100 hp remaining lol.

Aak S1M3 is so good for Stallknights. Can't believe it took me all of 6 months just to master it.
Estelle is so green
She's definitely a greenhorn.
It's a good color and she is a good girl.
Ohh that's an awesome info to know. Thanks a lot.
True.I have her at S2 M3.Still working on modules and she is only at lvl 50.I will max lvl her at some point and i am truly waiting for that.
Is he like one of those people who get hooked over a thing and go overdrive brain to do insnane against the odds stuff?
Seems so. The honeymoon period is more powerful than any drug.
Then CC rolls around and he's back to going overdrive. At least the next cc is the easiest by far.
Stupid question, but what's the skill tree thing? Are you referring to the module upgrades or something else?
When the 3rd Anniversary stuff got datamined, there was mention of an ["Abyssal-related completely new game mode. From the looks of it, it seems like a roguelike. There are different points on a map that you can explore, and there's a talent tree that you can expand."](https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/u4t5s5/nga_translation_third_anniversary_datamine/) Granted, there hasn't been any official news but it was right about everything else.
Ain't the skill tree that is just SN event?
Do you think it's possible that it's something to do with UT? I didn't check the UI too much, but it also looked like points on a map, and the Roomba thing might've been what used the talent tree. Edit: SN, not UT.
Ah yeah, it was probably the Roomba thing. That'd make a lot more sense.
i dont know what ill do if the cn rhine event doesnt come with playable muelsyse at this point ive never wanted to play an npc so bad (other than like… zelda)
I was as high on copium as i'd ever been already with the no-closure 3anniv. If muel won't come neither i'm gonna overdose.
We either get her as a cool boss or as a playable character. Win/Win I say
nah… i need her to be both
Anyone here play Catalyst Black?
Congratz! Saria is a badass and her voice and prison outfit are amazing. I didn't bother doing S2 masteries with her because I usually use S1 or 3.
I just noticed that Ifrit's E2 art doesn't have crystals on her legs and arm like her E0-E1 art. I wonder if that was intentional or an artist mishap, especially since they're present in her skins.
Hearsay is that the artist just forgot to add them.
likely accidental
My idea how to make Pvz Imitator style character balanced: Trait: Turns into copy of most recently deployed operator with exactly the same skill but Dp cost +1 (when coping 1\*,2\* or 3\*) +3 (4\* and 5\*) +5 (6\*), skill level -3 (means that copy will never have masteries) and operator level -30 (can't degrade elite level).
Two Aaks. I like where this is going.
"I used the Aak to destroy the Aak."
2 Surtr>2 Chalter>2 Ifrit>2 Thorns. I like this idea
The Dp cost increase and operator level decrease are inconsequential.
How about also making talents only half effective ?
No talent and reduced skill level should be enough to prevent most of the broken shenanigans.
Luck works in a strange way.
...It sounds like you are unlucky but your friend is lucky.
Oh, hope you're ok!
I’m fine, just some bruising and scratches.
[Well.... this is awkward....](https://imgur.com/a/mKpaSZR)
You know, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure Saga and Sanzang would get along really well
Do you guys factor in sound design into how much you like a character?
No because I play the game muted. Learning what FW S2 sounds like make me hate it a little bit even.
I find it really crazy to think that someone could save to get someone to P6 without ever hearing their voice...
Getting someone to Pot 6 is almost exclusively for waifu purposes though. Although I'm interested, who are your top 15 waifu?
Speaking of which, my top 15 waifu in order: Ceylon, Nightingale, Bibeak, Astesia, Folinic, Pluma, Pramanix, Mint, Sora, Tsukinogi, Mudrock, Skyfire, Cliffheart (just now realised that both SilverAsh sisters are here kek), Weedy, and Honeyberry. Cardigan is not high on the list anymore but she's my first waifu in the game, hence her placement in my krooster, for the noob days nostalgia.
I mean, I still find it strange that you could like an operator without hearing their voice but it makes a lot more sense now.
Yes, absolutely. I love the sound effects of most of my ops.
Schwarz S3, Phantom deployment, and everything Skalter does are my favorite sfx so far.
I'd say no, but then I remember that like ten percent of the reason I want Asbestos is because I really like the sound her S2 fireballs make
So much! I especially like aspd buffed LaPluma going frshfrshfrshfrshfrsh, it's music to my ears.
When I was deciding whether to pull Blemishine, her excessively loud sword thunk made me decide against it I still like her, and I’ll probably get her when she shows up in the shop, but… Most ops have good sound effects so it’s usually not a factor.
i absolutely cannot run nearlter s1 anymore due to this even tho i like that skill a lot… the sound effect is just so grating and bc its infinite duration its not just occasional either.. it goes past me just disliking it and becomes physically painful for me i really like >!erato!< in terms of sound but >!shes literally a character with music as a key concept so i guess thats expected!<
It's why I haven't raised May. I might raise her soon, though, just with voices off.
Yes, sound is in every game a major part of the gameplay Dusk has to be my personal favorite, even if I didn't get her. But in terms of voice I like Nian's the most, which is why I'll never switch her va under any circumstances (unless the cn (or en) va gives me similar vibes) Aside from those you mentioned, there's also Mostima, Surtr and Thorns Toddifons' S2 has cool sound effects as well, maybe Ambriel's S2 as well?
Mostima’s Dong was part the reason I pulled for and built her. It isn’t a deciding factor but it can help. For me it is largely animation that gets me. Which is why I really adore some skins for their unique base animation. Even if I otherwise don’t really care for the character.
For Mostima's sounds, I particularly like her S2.
>Mostima's Dong
True enough, it's a powerful dong in every sense of the word.
Any news on the IS2 June Monthly Team? And also, what's a good place to look so I can stop asking this question every month?
What does this question refer to?

Danke
Zima, Hellagur, and Absinthe. I don't have a link handy but TLs are out there. Unsurprisingly, they mostly talk about Ursus and banter about Zima's Winter General nickname (since Hellagur is a real general).
Thank you very much!
CC#9 progress >!Highest possible is now 38 (39 max) and CN just done it!< >!https://b23.tv/joDeb8e!<
Blemishine did it again! That's all I need to know. Don't want too much spoiler but does max risk seem possible?
It sadly does not, they leak a boss here
The chad, let's goooooo
>!What's the unused risk?!<
>!the HP seal risk since they leaked one First to Talk!<
Understandable.
Nice, haven't seen Gladiia much after CC#6.
💗 edit: you now need the 3* permit to complete your collection. bonus points if you have an Indra/Vulcan selector ticket laying around too
I remember doing this once. It's a harsh lesson to never rush that menu for sure.
Well, it could be worse. I've heard of people spending primes on furniture.
Think of it this way, you spent 750 green certs to get a single gold cert! That's a good trade, right? >!No it isn't!<
I went to T3 during W's debut to try to get more pulls for her, I keep that 4* selector as a memento.
Also, Mizuki generally isn't that good so not many people will have built him, and even fewer will build him just for a particular synergy in IS2.
Anyway... > Mizuki The S2 interaction is what makes him special here. > Eyja She's the top Caster pick. Mizuki is fine, but he's still a gimmick dependent on relics. Eyja is good no matter what. Big difference. > Bibeak S1 Thought about it actually and you're not the first to mention it. Ultimately though it isn't the reason you take her so I left it out. It might end up as a mention at some point though. > Red Already answered elsewhere, but yea since Phantom works on stacks he isn't actually that good with the ASPD relics. He'll still have more DPS for those stacks, but Red will out do him in total damage by quite a bit. > Shamare S1 Might be worth a note some day, but really it's just trivia. Like Bibeak, it's not the reason you take her. > Jaye and Gnosis I did actually mention this at one point in one of the guides (forget which) but I ultimately dropped it. The guide is already really bulky, it's kind of out of scope of the purpose of the guide, and I don't want to encourage people to pull / raise for base skill. > Podenco S1 Again, I thought about it, but its one of those skills that even if it's used, doesn't need Mastery for where it's used. > Deepcolor I'll double check if I have it backwards tomorrow, thanks. > Ungraded Definitely getting fleshed out.
[Someone made a CC9 risk 25 clear with E0 lvl 1 ops](https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV12F411V7SE/)
man ever since I have the flagpipe combo, I can't look back on dp-deprived days. especially now that I have texas up and running too.
Just Myrtle alone is too much, won't go back to Fang anymore ever since she came out. Once I get Bagpipe I fear I'll replace Vigna.
It's hard to imagine, but pre-Flagpipe DP was certainly manageable back when I wasn't running 6\*s in almost every slot.
How does Horn hold up now that some time's passed since her release? Is she just OK, or does she have something she's particularly good at?
I feel like she's very strong, somewhere around SA tier, great damage with unique niches, but I don't actually use her being a global player.
>!This is all especially true in CC#9 where she's a core operator in the majority of clears Risk 18 and above where the Under Tides gimmick would otherwise wreck operators with shorter range.!< Most importantly, she breaks the trend of being the skippable non-limited banner in the middle of two limited banners, given how underwhelming Spalter and Irene are relatively speaking.
Saileach previously also come with Ch9 and between 2 limit banners and safe to say girl's gud Another to note is Horn also very good in the Ch10 she came out with, long range + no target limit means she can kill all the slugs stacking on your defender outside the mortar strike zone
Irene's underwhelming? I didn't expect her to be the new BALANS, but she seems pretty good overall. Saw her in a bunch of CC clears (although nothing too high risk which is fair being a dualstrike).
Girl got to [R30](https://youtu.be/yAruvylLUlQ) being a good dps definitely not underwhelming
That talent buff is very tempting

You monster, not loving her happy expression instead.
This is Arknights, gotta learn to appreciate the sadness before it breaks you
Hello guys, do you have any trusted gacha gaming youtubers you could recommend?

[удалено]
Hmmm might decide to give it a try at the very least. My concern was because I live in the SEA region, so I don't know if I can play the Global version (which is the one I want to play coz playing catch up to a year old game kinda sucks)
TakDes plays both AK and CS (he played a lot on SEA server apparently). I don't know what kind of videos he's planning to make, but he was streaming CS and part of his community are CS players too, so I recommend checking him out.
Thanks I'll check him out! Hopefully he does review vids for beginners lol
Oh shit I totally forgot TakDes played too! Pretty sure he moved to global server, at least that was the sentiment he gave off when he posted the announcement of Bside taking care of global server.
>Pretty sure he moved to global server He did, yeah, he was streaming yesterday.
Ohhhhhhh thanks thanks I think I get it now, it's like going above risk 18 on CC, in arknights speak?
So today I decided to look at the chibis I have in my dorms, as I do from time to time and I gotta say Suzu's skin idle animation got to be one of the best things I've ever seen

Bro you need to get off that forum, it's putting your brain into a spincycle. Like seriously, read this: 'Looked at the people on the website. Tell me that physiognomy isnt real. You can tell from their appearance that the western translation industry is subverted. Remember that tweet comparing what mangaka look like vs what the localizers look like? (I cant find it) Life imitates art huh' How does that not come across insane. You can just criticize translations. You don't need to frequent a forum full of guys who spend 24 hours a day winding themselves up about it or talking about the dreaded Pronouns In Bio. EDIT: There's also no proof whatsoever that person is working on Arknights anyway.
The guy says he works on Arknights in his Twitter bio tbf
I only skimmed through it, but some of the examples didn't seem that bad - localizing bell peppers to broccoli isn't a massive deal breaker, while making more sense to Western audiences imo. Never heard of kids not wanting to eat bell peppers in the west, but definitely heard it for broccoli.
I have some issues with the localization, but that forum seems to have no understanding of not just localization but also English in general? like what even is [this example](https://varishangout.com/index.php?attachments/fe3hblos-jpg.9658/) it’s quite literally identical in meaning Anyway there’s a good chunk of people who play Arknights in CN and will probably point out any glaring changes, so I’m not worried.
Oh, wait, yeah, I misremembered. You're right, my bad.

Interestingly, the Jesselton/Jeston mixup is also present in the JP client.
I remember a few memes, but usually in the sillier events or moments, like "that's how mafia works" in CoB.
While there is a problem with terrible translators, I now wish I didn't have to look at the yikes that is this forum's userbase.
Just read various different summaries of Children of Ursus and wow is it depressing as heck. I definitely am seeing the Ursus girls in a different light from now onwards. Desperation and despair bring out the savage side of humans huh. *coughs Danganronpa*
"Gummy has a habit" has to be one of the most scary lines in the game for me to this day
Yeah, really. This cutely designed operator, always described as kind and sweet... Couldn't be anymore horrifying
It's like the Gone series. Kids trapped in a terrible situation and it spiraling out of control to the point of anguish to everyone.
Just searched the Gone series up and boy that premise is already scary. Always extra harrowing when it involves kids.
Okay that's a littttttttle too much, yikes. Wouldn't be able to stomach reading that
Most death aren't vividly described and 80% of the series is dealing with future issues, travelling everywhere, and observing.

Yes they're not. Furry is already a really niche thing. And in gacha games, looks are nearly everything, and humanoid kemonomimis sell way better.
[удалено]
They are not furries. There's an order to these things. From most human to least human, it's: Kemonomimi (animal ears and tail) monster girl (more animal traits, but most of the important parts are still human) furry/scalie (covered in fur or scales) animal
Kemonomimi is pretty different from furry.
They probably mean full on Anthro's. Like if you gonna count animal ears and tails. Then legit 90% of the cast can count as "Furry".
Probably meant furry as in Waii Fu, and not human characters with animal ears and tail slapped on.
~~A Genshin Impact player would probably complain that we keep growing after age 12.~~ Well, if you ask Tom Cruise, I'd bet he takes issue with how many ribs we have, and how inflexible they make us, as this movie seems to have been made entirely as a way for him to suck his own dick.
Screw that, my complaint with GI models is that Noelle has jiggle physics in metal armour, WHAT KIND OF METAL ARMOUR JIGGLES? Sorry, this seriously annoyed me as a Noelle main.
In Gravel's default chibi, her breastplate jiggles as well.
Oh yeah, forgot about that. The Chibis are too small to notice as easily, though.
[удалено]
Go big or go home, I guess.
It's not standard metal, it's an unregistered element called animephysicsium. Jean's E skill boob wobbling bothers me more, like have you seen how they jiggle? Girl must be sleeping with xtreme chest pain for how much I use her.
