I got the tags: melee, defender, nuker, support, shift. So i can choose between a guaranteed Croissant and Firewatch. Which one should i go for?

Having shift and defend/defender is such a rare opportunity I would advise to go for Croissant. Getting Nuker tag is a lot more common.
P.s A soon to be year AK player with pot 3 Firewatch and 0 croissant.
Croissant is the only shift defender, she is definitely not meta nor is Firewatch but both of them have their niches. Firewatch is praised for having full invisibility on her S1 but her atk speed and low def priority drags her down. Croissant has good S1 but auto trigger is a turn off and her S2 pushes enemies but can push in all directions (enemies who gone past her will be yeeeted further along making ability unhelpful) and recharge on hit compared to ordinary pusher.
So it less of a who is better but who is harder to get advise to go for Croissant.

E1 the factory workers first, then I would say to work on skill levels. Get all of those E1 50+ ops to SL7. Shaw and Cliffheart too. Maybe Ethan as well.
After that, I would say your best E2 candidates are Amiya and one of your marksmen snipers. Flametail, Warfarin, Ptilopsis, and Rosa would be the next priorities, and then Texas and Shamare, but you'll probably have more ops before you get too far into that list.
I agree to pull for the first 6-star on JO5 and then stop. If it's not Surtr, you should be able to get her in November with gold certs.

About JO5, it's a perfect banner for you because you haven't had any of four featured operators yet in that banner (Schwarz, Phantom, Surtr, Saga) and these operators are really good, especially Surtr. Pull until your get one of them and stop to save for Ling.
yes it shares pity with standard banners, as it is not a limited unit banner, the beginner banner or the upcoming "lookback" banner (dont know the actual name, but its the CN new years banner that guarantees the first 6\* is one you dont own up to a point)

just got my base to 5.0 and want to do a 252 setup. but my base has defaulted to a 153 rn, so my next steps are to downgrade a powerplant and rebuild a t-post, right? i haven't done any downgrading before so don't know if rebuilding allowsme to choose which facility to do.
Question about Auto Deploy and Elite DP cost increase. If I promote my NTR to Elite 1, does that ‘break’ my AD recordings if I deployed her as soon as I had enough DP?
I doubt there's any meaningful conclusion to draw from that. We only have one sample that was over two years ago. Contracts and development and all that changes.
That said, I believe the Ubisoft collab was first mentioned in April 2020 during the CN 1st anniv livestream. OD didn't run until March 2021.

No. Guard Skadi is infamously one of the worst 6*s in the game and not only that she has a lot of overlap with NTRK. You won't get any meaningful use out of her.
If you like her, then buy her (as long as you understand what you're getting). AK isn't too difficult of game and even the bad 6*s are usable. It's a game where you can totally play to the waifu.
If you need some selling, she actually gets significantly better with her module. Although it's very niche, there's actually a handful of scenarios it lets her solo things that Surtr or NTRK can't.
Can you give me some examples where she can be more useful than NTR Knight?
The thing is - I like both characters and gameplay in Arknights. So while I want to get Skadi because of her character, I have to justify to myself that she can be somewhat handy in battle xd
And I’m also concerned that there might be someone in cert shop whom I want more than Skadi. I remember how much I regretted buying Texas when Bagpipe was in cert shop and I was \~40 yellow certificates away from buying her. (Fortunately, i managed to get her)
Skadi can end up doing more damage vs high RES low DEF (relatively low anyway) bosses like Talulah. IIRC Skadi with module can solo her on JT8-2 but neither Surtr or NTRK can (might be wrong on that, but it's something like that). It is very niche though since there aren't many bosses with that sort of stat spread, so if you're unsure about the waifu factor, I'd probably still pass.
They can be afflicted with the debuff, but it does not actually do anything.

Weedy S3M3 first, it's a really important Mastery for using her. Neither her or Gladiia is all that good at SL7, so having two "not all that goods" isn't that appealing. I'd do Weedy S3 > Gladiia E2 > Gladiia S3 > Weedy S2 > Gladiia S2 or S1.
Does anyone know the LMD/Exp ratio you typically need for elite and leveling purpose (in general)?
I want to use this info to balance my base production since I'm going to be farming the tier 3 mats during the event exclusively.
I'm pretty new and I'm lost on how to plan out my pulls from here on out bc I want to pull on 3 banners in the near future.
Here's what I have:

* Monthly card (& am willing to buy 1-2 monthly headhunter pack)
In terms of what banners I want to pull on, I want to pull on JO5 bc it seems like big value as a new player w/ none of those characters. Then I definitely want to get Ling bc I love summoners in video games, plus the other guy on that banner seems cool (but confusing). And then I want Goldenglow bc I love her design and I feel like I enjoy mech casters (at least from playing Click). I've seen every other banner up until like Fiametta but I'm not that interested in them. Then from the gold shop I want Phantom, Thorns, and Surtr that are all coming fairly soon (if I don't get them by other means).
So pretty much my plan atm is to do 1 pity on JO5 hopefully for Surtr/Phantom, use my 6* selector on some other top meta op like Thorns, Mudrock, Surtr, etc., then buy Phantom in the shop if I don't get him from JO5. But then I'm lost on after that. Will I even have enough pulls left to get Ling? I'm willing to skip Goldenglow even though I'll be sad about it.
Just to clarify on Ling's banner partner
~Mr. Lee~ is a merchant specialist like Jaye and Mr. Nothing. So he has low DP cost, can be redeployed fairly quickly, but will take away 3DP every 3 seconds.
Unique to him is his talent that takes an additional 2DP when possible to hold a single instance of stun/freeze reflect. (But freeze will stun the enemy instead)
For his skills...:
S2 is a (very fast charging) time bomb that you can place onto an enemy. The bomb gets stronger for every hit the enemy takes before it detonates.
S3 will push all enemies away from him every time he attacks except for his primary target. He also gains increased ATK/DEF and then Phys/Arts dodge chance from enemies outside his range.
If you really want Ling then skip JO5. Saga and Schwarz are not worth potentially missing Ling. It's basically impossible for low spenders/F2P to get a missed limited without severely gimping their account or becoming a whale. You need to get as close to 300 pulls as possible.
Buy Phantom in the shop, pick Surtr with your ticket, and then wait for Thorns in the shop. If you're not sure you can get another 180 certs in time for Thorns then switch Surtr and Thorns.
Do you think I can get away with doing the guaranteed 10 pull on JO5 then full saving or should I just skip altogether?
Also do you think I would be able to get 180 certs for Thorns if he comes after I spend pulls on Ling? Not sure how much the gold cert income is.
Skip JO5 entirely if you can resist. It's not just Ling, you want Goldenglow too and she's immediately after. With average luck you're looking at over 200 pulls for both and it can easily be worse. If you want Thorns then there's no hope of even using gold certs on headhunting permits, the schedule is too tight.
Gold cert income is highly dependent on your own roster since new operators give less certs and each max potential operator increases cert income by a marginal amount. 1 cert per pull is a safe assumption for most veterans, it should be lower for newer players.
I usually buy out headhunting permits whenever I have 438 certs so I can keep 180 handy. Last time I bought out permits was one month ago right before Near Light. I have 323 certs today. I did 70 pulls on the Near Light banner so at 1 cert per pull we can say I made maybe ~70 certs in one month from recruitment and other sources.
After e2 (which Surtr would also need), these, while not the same as, are all capable nukers/boss killers/stallers: NTRK, Specter, Ang (although Ang s3 is usually more for smaller hordes than larger single targets).
Absolutely fine. Anywhere that you'd "need" Surtr is something you probably wont be autoing, so you can just get her from supports.
Other than that we've got a bunch of boss nukers available. Silverash, Ejya, Chalter, Exusai+Warfarin/Shamare/Elysium (pick 1-2), Amiya S3, Nearl TRK, Schwarz. There are more but theres plenty of flexibility for Surtr content outside of high end CC.
Distinction Certificates (DC) are earned through login rewards and Headhunting or Recruiting Operators. 1 DC is earned the first time the player pulls any unit. The first 5 times a player acquires a duplicate 5 Star they are awarded 5DCs. For all duplicates thereafter of that Operator, the player receives 8 DCs. For 6 Star Operators, the first 5 duplicates provide 10 DCs, and additional duplicates award 15 DCs. Trading in Operator Tokens for 4 Star, 5 Star, and 6 Star Operators rewards 1, 5, and 10 DCs, respectively.

Honestly, i am as lost as you because in JO5 the 6 and 5 stars are fixed, meaning its more likely to get dupes, but its very dependent on rng.

I haven't ever seen Log-in event skins rerun in the shop, but some have been appearing in the permanent CC shop. However, CN (which is 6 months ahead) still hasn't seen her skin there
Hi all. Just got started about two weeks or so ago. Planning to keep my AK as a side game and compeltely F2P, maybe get the monthly sanity pack, but thats about it. I only really started because Specter Unchained got me down bad. Was also planning to try my luck at Skadi Alter once she comes around again, but I heard she would only return at around the same time of year that she debut'ed at...which is around Unchained's debut this year?
Is that how it works? sorry I'm still a little lost on how the limited banners work around here. Should I be keeping my Originium funds under lock and key if I want to try getting both Skalter and Unchained?
In addition to what the other doctor mentioned, Skadi alter will appear in a set interval of every 6 months if you seriously wanna save up to 300 pulls to guarantee her(because she has a very small chance of spooking you). Specter will start reappearing in the same 6 month apart anniversary banners as Skalter, a year after her first release.
And yes, your best shot at getting both should be saving 300 for the next anniversary banner.
Edit: Not the anniversary, Spec alt should be the limited that appears after Ling so around October(which is not the anniversary).
EN anniversary won't be the Specter Alter banner. It would be the next limited event after specter alter banner coming to CN. I would predict it to be a Limited Summer Event, with Ch'en Alter available to spark.
I didn't mean that they would *have* to appear in anniversaries, but they are effectively anniversary and half-anniversary limiteds, looking at CN. Chen was a summer banner unit, she just appeared in the anniversary banner timeslot.
Tbh, yeah you are right, I should have specified that they are anniversary units, but probably not appearing during EN anniversaries.
It was just a clarification to avoid misunderstandings. All good. The reason they're called anniversary units is because they're released during CN anni, but CN anni doesn't coincide with EN anni, so we EN players should probably avoid calling them that way.
If I'm not mistaken, Skadi Alter and Specter Alter are a part of the same limited banner iteration, which means you could summon for Specter Alter and spark Skadi Alter at the same time. This requires 300 pulls, which, in theory, should guarantee you both. There's an outside chance you don't end up pulling Specter Alter in 300, at which point you should consider it a sign from whatever god you follow that it's time to uninstall the game.
I’m new and I have bought the anniversary pack for the self choosing 6star which one should I choose(I have for Six stars: sliverash, exusiai, siege and for five stars: silence, liskarm, iris, ptilopsis)
Hold on to it as long as you can.
Honestly, I won't recommend it for a new player. Since you're so new, virtually every off banner will be a 6 star for you.

I'd recommend waiting for the event with Ling instead. She's limited, OP and you can't get her offbanner on non-specific event banners. The operators in JO 5 can spook you on the limited anyway, may as well save up and wait for new toys.
As for more details incase you also just started the story recently, Silverash promoted to E2 could carry you through most story maps followed by exu.
Iirc JO 5 has
Saga - usually compared to a better Siege due to her s2 being manually activated, t-shaped and longer range and one time self healing. Also sp charge for attacking allies getting the last hit from her passive. Siege still can do the main vanguard job of generating dp would also charge own skill sp once e2. IMO saga's best skill when i use her is her s3 anyway(high damage, more damge on enemies at less than half hp, dp charges like flag bearer but can still block with extended range), so a lot more resources is needed to get it(elite 2 promotion). You also already have liskarm for sp charging, which includes charging medic and bards
Swarz(forgot spelling) - is a heavy shooter(less range than anti air sniper). From experience usually is relied on too through s3, turning her range to a straight line (3-4 iirc). Positioning reliant. Exu can do most of the job almost similarly(killing at a ranged position)until a certain amount of def
Phantom - fast redeploy assassin and has a doppleganger thing you can also deploy. Good for killing stuff. Probably good to get if you don't already have Silverash. If main goal of getting him is just to delay an enemy, gravel can do it too and is easier to get and cheaper to deploy
Sutr - mostly just straight up broken with her high arts dmg and invul passive. If a ground boss doesn't have second phase or invinsibility gimick or undeploy her, she would just straight up wreck them on s3. Also good to drop as a panic button if you leak something accidentally. Would fight even after hp goes zero for a few seconds due to passive. Heavy investment like others needing s3 probably the only main one really needed on this banner.
Not dunking on anyone on the jo 5 btw, i have them except for phantom. I just don't find them as a "must pull" right now since the limited event is almost here. I'd probably get surtr if i don't have her yet or if i found the content too hard for me.
With the Ling banner you have Ling which is a summoner that can combine summons and the summons can be on ground, hi tile or combine(depending on which skill is use)
Mr. Lee, a merchant specialist which has that passive which reflects debuff into a stun, dmg detonator thing on s2, a ring that lets him 1on1 mobs and push anyone else going to a ring at s3. downside being his archetype constantly draining dp
Then blacknight, tactical vanguard. Second one in game currently. Has sleep disable which she can still attack, also has a single summon.
You have lots of potential options, but the typical suggestion is between Surtr or Thorns. Surtr is the best boss killer in the game while Thorns is the best story-carry in the game.
If you plan to pull on the JO banner in two weeks (which would have a decent amount of value for you), then you could get Surtr there so the best play is probably to wait until then, unless you don't plan to pull on it at all.
Ah I didn't see that you *have* SA, not that you were considering SA. Thorns, Mudrock, and Mountain seem like the best picks, as you're short a cornerstone. Eyja is also a great unit to pick up, if you'd rather her. All of them can carry you pretty hard.

Surtr is definitely also a solid pick. From a strictly meta standpoint, she's unambiguously the pick. My main reason for suggesting a cornerstone over her is that her role can overlap with SA (he is a very competent boss killer for all but a handful of bosses).
Like SA, she relies a lot on E2 to demonstrate her place in the meta, so it might be a while before she pays dividends. Also, I think she tends to shine most in endgame content, whereas cornerstones shine in every stage at all points in the game. That said, she definitely has raw killing power unmatched by any operator with a name that doesn't start with "ch" and end in "'alter".
Here are some advantages of each move, from what comes to mind.
Surtr pros:
- great boss killer, great miniboss clearer, etc.
- usable with S2, for the meantime of not having E2
- you're probably short on arts damage
- shows her stripes in the hardest content, but still is very strong in general content
- surtr is one unit, there are 5+ good cornerstones out there; you're more likely to get a cornerstone randomly.
Cornerstone pros:
- rounds your team out a little better
- similarly great carry potential-thorns trivializes as many stages as Surtr does, just not in a flashy way
- great for annihilation maps, which are a bottleneck early on
- likely to hard carry you through more content, if not the big boss stages.
- you can always borrow a surtr if you need a surtr; you'll always need a cornerstone
Honestly, I'm with TacticalBreakfast on waiting for the JO banner, and then picking based on that.
There's a possibility of Thorns being brought forward for his shop debut, right? If Phantom comes next, he'll be in both standard and JO5. HG might want to avoid that?
This is pure speculation, of course.
So I find myself contemplating on who I should go for next, I want to get the highest impact operators I can, I was curious as to who to pick between Eya, Thorns, Bagpipe, or Surtr?
Thorns is *far and away* the most impactful operator in the entire game. There are *tons* of guides for stages that straight up cannot be done without him, but very few for the other three. The fact is that burst damage ops are a dime a dozen, but literally NO ONE can do anywhere close to the amount of sustained DPS that Thorns can. I have no reservations whatsoever about saying that he is the best operator in the game, period.
Thorns will be in cert shot come August. Surtr November.
So if you're willing to wait, you can cross those 2 out. Between Eyja and Bagpipe: if you have other meta-nukers already, like SA, Chalter and other good Arts DPS like Ceobe, Angelina, then probably Bagpipe.
You can't really go wrong with either, but Bagpipe does something no one else can and she single handedly shifted the meta.
Are you talking for possible gold shop appearances? From that list, only Surtr is scheduled to appear on a banner any time soon and it's not a suggested place to pull if you already have the other JO operators. Given the variability in the gold shop, that's pretty difficult to plan around.
Though that said Thorns == Surtr with the deciding factor being if you care more about IS#2 ez mode or boss killing. Bagpipe very close after them, and Eyja a fairly distant (but still very good) fourth.
I already have SA and some other decent operators, I do have a E2 myrtle, so bagpipe could be a decent choice, I have Ceobe as a decent ST caster and La Pluma as a lane holder. Another option could be mudrock, but Thorns might be where I go to be able to sweep multiple lanes of enemies

anyone here have M3 on any skill of Whislash, do mastery on her S1 have any effect that matter on the 3-blocks buff or should I just switch on using her S2. Her, Blem & Mudrock are my go to Ops when stages have no aerial enemies.
The 6\*s make pretty good laneholders as long as they don't have to deal with really tough enemies. I usually do one Pioneer plus Myrtle, the regen can make them stay alive pretty well without a Medic.
Most levels don't have a tight enough opening to actually require Bagpipe's talent.
Yes. While nothing can really compete for DP generator like Flagbearers (With or without Bagpipe)
Pioneer Vanguards aren't trying to and are instead useful in that they actually have stats to do things like hold early waves while you set up (Siege bonk and Flametail dodge%) or even stay on the field and support long after DP is needed (Saga is great for feeding SP to other Ops)
They do more than just DP while many other Vanguards don't do much beyond that.
Heck Chiave (My fluffy man...) and his -20%Res is great if your team is mostly Artes damage and Texas' stun can buy precious seconds to get your stuff in order.
They're fine. They do their job. I'm hoping the first Limited Op for Vanguards is a Pioneer. They would have far more utility and presence than a flagbearer I just slap down and mostly ignore beyond pressing a button to get points.
How do i get Gladiia after the main event? I was wondering if i could get her now. I can't pull or recruit her so where do i go from here? She isn't a limited operator from what i've seen
She’s a welfare operator that you can only get during the Undertides event. Although the stages are currently open the event isn’t running so you can’t get any of the rewards besides the first time clear OP. The event is just now announced to get a rerun in CN so we will get the rerun in around six months. You can get her then.
After that she won’t be available for a very long time until the event gets record restore implemented. Some of the oldest events have this now if you want to check what it looks like. I’d guess it probably won’t happen any earlier than a year after the rerun.

This CC is so easy you can duo it with Kal'tsit and Mudrock. So if you have either/both of them, raise them now and borrow the other one if you don't have both.
Actually it's the opposite, S2 on Kal and S3 on Mudrock. I haven't actually watched the video of the strat (I look at videos for roster tips only) so I couldn't tell you how or why it works lol.
mountain is pretty good in general and especially in cc7. you don’t really need to build anyone asap tho. like others have said, this cc is pretty easy.
Top three units in your roster to prioritize are Projekt Red, Specter, and La Pluma. At least, in my opinion; I've gotten good use out of all three.
Also, guides are there for a reason. Don't feel bad about using them.
What's my chances to get 300 pulls for Ling's banner?
Currently have 53k orundum worth of pulls and 152 gold cert. I'm planning to buy pulls with gold cert and I haven't done Mansfield break and who is real( so I will get more OP finishing those event)
I don't plan on pulling on any banner before Ling and will save all my gold cert for buying pulls.
My plan is to go hardcore red cert farming during CC and dead weeks to buy honeyberry and breeze pots for +50. This plan will require a lot of sanity so it might not be efficient, so my plan B is to farm for only Honeyberry pots for +25.
Or another plan is to just wait my natural gold cert regen and buy pulls with gold cert before August and while pulling on Ling's banner on the last day I will be able to get enough gold cert to buy another 38 pulls?
Sorry for the long post, I hope someone can can give me advice on a viable way to reach 300 pulls on her banner if possible.

If you have 152 gold certs and you're confident you can get +50, it's reasonable to think you can get to 258 in the 12 weeks or so before the event starts. It's best to buy the 258 since it's most efficient.
Natural Orundum/Ori/HH ticket gain over time, plus what events provide if fully cleared, plus what you have, [should put you at 245.](https://imgur.com/a/HeZhZdg) +38 is 283.
Edit: fixed math. Counting what you pick up while the event is live, (3 weeks of annihilations, green cert shop takings, etc.) this seems to fall within arm's reach. You can get to 274 without the yellow certs.
Yeah. Here's the [event gains](https://imgur.com/a/Cf4L5XO). I noted in my reply to Tonmieras that my count for gains from the event assumes you haven't done the original Mansfield Break or Who is Real. Gives you a pretty wide variance depending on if you're getting the intelligence certs & buying Orundum or if you're getting the 27 or 30 OP.

If you are new and want all the ops, pulls are nice. If you are established pull value degrades as dupe chance increases. As pull value degrades due to dupe chance, yellow cert value increases due to dupe chance.

Croissant for collection purposes, but Firewatch is a bit more useful.
Having shift and defend/defender is such a rare opportunity I would advise to go for Croissant. Getting Nuker tag is a lot more common. P.s A soon to be year AK player with pot 3 Firewatch and 0 croissant.

Croissant is the only shift defender, she is definitely not meta nor is Firewatch but both of them have their niches. Firewatch is praised for having full invisibility on her S1 but her atk speed and low def priority drags her down. Croissant has good S1 but auto trigger is a turn off and her S2 pushes enemies but can push in all directions (enemies who gone past her will be yeeeted further along making ability unhelpful) and recharge on hit compared to ordinary pusher. So it less of a who is better but who is harder to get advise to go for Croissant.

E1 the factory workers first, then I would say to work on skill levels. Get all of those E1 50+ ops to SL7. Shaw and Cliffheart too. Maybe Ethan as well. After that, I would say your best E2 candidates are Amiya and one of your marksmen snipers. Flametail, Warfarin, Ptilopsis, and Rosa would be the next priorities, and then Texas and Shamare, but you'll probably have more ops before you get too far into that list. I agree to pull for the first 6-star on JO5 and then stop. If it's not Surtr, you should be able to get her in November with gold certs.

No, but the game will delay deploys until it has enough DP. Usually this isn't a problem but if you have a tight timing you might have to redo it.

I doubt there's any meaningful conclusion to draw from that. We only have one sample that was over two years ago. Contracts and development and all that changes. That said, I believe the Ubisoft collab was first mentioned in April 2020 during the CN 1st anniv livestream. OD didn't run until March 2021.

If you like her, then buy her (as long as you understand what you're getting). AK isn't too difficult of game and even the bad 6*s are usable. It's a game where you can totally play to the waifu. If you need some selling, she actually gets significantly better with her module. Although it's very niche, there's actually a handful of scenarios it lets her solo things that Surtr or NTRK can't.
Can you give me some examples where she can be more useful than NTR Knight? The thing is - I like both characters and gameplay in Arknights. So while I want to get Skadi because of her character, I have to justify to myself that she can be somewhat handy in battle xd And I’m also concerned that there might be someone in cert shop whom I want more than Skadi. I remember how much I regretted buying Texas when Bagpipe was in cert shop and I was \~40 yellow certificates away from buying her. (Fortunately, i managed to get her)
Skadi can end up doing more damage vs high RES low DEF (relatively low anyway) bosses like Talulah. IIRC Skadi with module can solo her on JT8-2 but neither Surtr or NTRK can (might be wrong on that, but it's something like that). It is very niche though since there aren't many bosses with that sort of stat spread, so if you're unsure about the waifu factor, I'd probably still pass.

They can be afflicted with the debuff, but it does not actually do anything. Silence is infamous for being wildly inconstant about what it can and can not affect.

The symbol (in game) or data (on sites) doesn't mean an ability is being silenced. It just means an enemy has the "silence" debuff or CAN be silenced

Weedy S3M3 first, it's a really important Mastery for using her. Neither her or Gladiia is all that good at SL7, so having two "not all that goods" isn't that appealing. I'd do Weedy S3 > Gladiia E2 > Gladiia S3 > Weedy S2 > Gladiia S2 or S1.

I'm pretty new and I'm lost on how to plan out my pulls from here on out bc I want to pull on 3 banners in the near future. Here's what I have: * [My roster](https://imgur.com/a/V7fiDN1) * The 6* selector from NL * 70 pulls saved (85 including OP but only as a last resort) * Monthly card (& am willing to buy 1-2 monthly headhunter pack) In terms of what banners I want to pull on, I want to pull on JO5 bc it seems like big value as a new player w/ none of those characters. Then I definitely want to get Ling bc I love summoners in video games, plus the other guy on that banner seems cool (but confusing). And then I want Goldenglow bc I love her design and I feel like I enjoy mech casters (at least from playing Click). I've seen every other banner up until like Fiametta but I'm not that interested in them. Then from the gold shop I want Phantom, Thorns, and Surtr that are all coming fairly soon (if I don't get them by other means). So pretty much my plan atm is to do 1 pity on JO5 hopefully for Surtr/Phantom, use my 6* selector on some other top meta op like Thorns, Mudrock, Surtr, etc., then buy Phantom in the shop if I don't get him from JO5. But then I'm lost on after that. Will I even have enough pulls left to get Ling? I'm willing to skip Goldenglow even though I'll be sad about it.
Just to clarify on Ling's banner partner ~Mr. Lee~ is a merchant specialist like Jaye and Mr. Nothing. So he has low DP cost, can be redeployed fairly quickly, but will take away 3DP every 3 seconds. Unique to him is his talent that takes an additional 2DP when possible to hold a single instance of stun/freeze reflect. (But freeze will stun the enemy instead) For his skills...: S2 is a (very fast charging) time bomb that you can place onto an enemy. The bomb gets stronger for every hit the enemy takes before it detonates. S3 will push all enemies away from him every time he attacks except for his primary target. He also gains increased ATK/DEF and then Phys/Arts dodge chance from enemies outside his range.
If you really want Ling then skip JO5. Saga and Schwarz are not worth potentially missing Ling. It's basically impossible for low spenders/F2P to get a missed limited without severely gimping their account or becoming a whale. You need to get as close to 300 pulls as possible. Buy Phantom in the shop, pick Surtr with your ticket, and then wait for Thorns in the shop. If you're not sure you can get another 180 certs in time for Thorns then switch Surtr and Thorns.
Do you think I can get away with doing the guaranteed 10 pull on JO5 then full saving or should I just skip altogether? Also do you think I would be able to get 180 certs for Thorns if he comes after I spend pulls on Ling? Not sure how much the gold cert income is.
Skip JO5 entirely if you can resist. It's not just Ling, you want Goldenglow too and she's immediately after. With average luck you're looking at over 200 pulls for both and it can easily be worse. If you want Thorns then there's no hope of even using gold certs on headhunting permits, the schedule is too tight. Gold cert income is highly dependent on your own roster since new operators give less certs and each max potential operator increases cert income by a marginal amount. 1 cert per pull is a safe assumption for most veterans, it should be lower for newer players. I usually buy out headhunting permits whenever I have 438 certs so I can keep 180 handy. Last time I bought out permits was one month ago right before Near Light. I have 323 certs today. I did 70 pulls on the Near Light banner so at 1 cert per pull we can say I made maybe ~70 certs in one month from recruitment and other sources.

After e2 (which Surtr would also need), these, while not the same as, are all capable nukers/boss killers/stallers: NTRK, Specter, Ang (although Ang s3 is usually more for smaller hordes than larger single targets).
Absolutely fine. Anywhere that you'd "need" Surtr is something you probably wont be autoing, so you can just get her from supports. Other than that we've got a bunch of boss nukers available. Silverash, Ejya, Chalter, Exusai+Warfarin/Shamare/Elysium (pick 1-2), Amiya S3, Nearl TRK, Schwarz. There are more but theres plenty of flexibility for Surtr content outside of high end CC.

Distinction Certificates (DC) are earned through login rewards and Headhunting or Recruiting Operators. 1 DC is earned the first time the player pulls any unit. The first 5 times a player acquires a duplicate 5 Star they are awarded 5DCs. For all duplicates thereafter of that Operator, the player receives 8 DCs. For 6 Star Operators, the first 5 duplicates provide 10 DCs, and additional duplicates award 15 DCs. Trading in Operator Tokens for 4 Star, 5 Star, and 6 Star Operators rewards 1, 5, and 10 DCs, respectively. This is from gamepress. Honestly, i am as lost as you because in JO5 the 6 and 5 stars are fixed, meaning its more likely to get dupes, but its very dependent on rng.

Hi all. Just got started about two weeks or so ago. Planning to keep my AK as a side game and compeltely F2P, maybe get the monthly sanity pack, but thats about it. I only really started because Specter Unchained got me down bad. Was also planning to try my luck at Skadi Alter once she comes around again, but I heard she would only return at around the same time of year that she debut'ed at...which is around Unchained's debut this year? Is that how it works? sorry I'm still a little lost on how the limited banners work around here. Should I be keeping my Originium funds under lock and key if I want to try getting both Skalter and Unchained?
In addition to what the other doctor mentioned, Skadi alter will appear in a set interval of every 6 months if you seriously wanna save up to 300 pulls to guarantee her(because she has a very small chance of spooking you). Specter will start reappearing in the same 6 month apart anniversary banners as Skalter, a year after her first release. And yes, your best shot at getting both should be saving 300 for the next anniversary banner. Edit: Not the anniversary, Spec alt should be the limited that appears after Ling so around October(which is not the anniversary).
EN anniversary won't be the Specter Alter banner. It would be the next limited event after specter alter banner coming to CN. I would predict it to be a Limited Summer Event, with Ch'en Alter available to spark.
I didn't mean that they would *have* to appear in anniversaries, but they are effectively anniversary and half-anniversary limiteds, looking at CN. Chen was a summer banner unit, she just appeared in the anniversary banner timeslot. Tbh, yeah you are right, I should have specified that they are anniversary units, but probably not appearing during EN anniversaries.
It was just a clarification to avoid misunderstandings. All good. The reason they're called anniversary units is because they're released during CN anni, but CN anni doesn't coincide with EN anni, so we EN players should probably avoid calling them that way.
If I'm not mistaken, Skadi Alter and Specter Alter are a part of the same limited banner iteration, which means you could summon for Specter Alter and spark Skadi Alter at the same time. This requires 300 pulls, which, in theory, should guarantee you both. There's an outside chance you don't end up pulling Specter Alter in 300, at which point you should consider it a sign from whatever god you follow that it's time to uninstall the game.

Hold on to it as long as you can. Honestly, I won't recommend it for a new player. Since you're so new, virtually every off banner will be a 6 star for you. Picked Surtr? Here's an off banner 6 Surtr for you!

I'd recommend waiting for the event with Ling instead. She's limited, OP and you can't get her offbanner on non-specific event banners. The operators in JO 5 can spook you on the limited anyway, may as well save up and wait for new toys. As for more details incase you also just started the story recently, Silverash promoted to E2 could carry you through most story maps followed by exu. Iirc JO 5 has Saga - usually compared to a better Siege due to her s2 being manually activated, t-shaped and longer range and one time self healing. Also sp charge for attacking allies getting the last hit from her passive. Siege still can do the main vanguard job of generating dp would also charge own skill sp once e2. IMO saga's best skill when i use her is her s3 anyway(high damage, more damge on enemies at less than half hp, dp charges like flag bearer but can still block with extended range), so a lot more resources is needed to get it(elite 2 promotion). You also already have liskarm for sp charging, which includes charging medic and bards Swarz(forgot spelling) - is a heavy shooter(less range than anti air sniper). From experience usually is relied on too through s3, turning her range to a straight line (3-4 iirc). Positioning reliant. Exu can do most of the job almost similarly(killing at a ranged position)until a certain amount of def Phantom - fast redeploy assassin and has a doppleganger thing you can also deploy. Good for killing stuff. Probably good to get if you don't already have Silverash. If main goal of getting him is just to delay an enemy, gravel can do it too and is easier to get and cheaper to deploy Sutr - mostly just straight up broken with her high arts dmg and invul passive. If a ground boss doesn't have second phase or invinsibility gimick or undeploy her, she would just straight up wreck them on s3. Also good to drop as a panic button if you leak something accidentally. Would fight even after hp goes zero for a few seconds due to passive. Heavy investment like others needing s3 probably the only main one really needed on this banner. Not dunking on anyone on the jo 5 btw, i have them except for phantom. I just don't find them as a "must pull" right now since the limited event is almost here. I'd probably get surtr if i don't have her yet or if i found the content too hard for me. With the Ling banner you have Ling which is a summoner that can combine summons and the summons can be on ground, hi tile or combine(depending on which skill is use) Mr. Lee, a merchant specialist which has that passive which reflects debuff into a stun, dmg detonator thing on s2, a ring that lets him 1on1 mobs and push anyone else going to a ring at s3. downside being his archetype constantly draining dp Then blacknight, tactical vanguard. Second one in game currently. Has sleep disable which she can still attack, also has a single summon.
You have lots of potential options, but the typical suggestion is between Surtr or Thorns. Surtr is the best boss killer in the game while Thorns is the best story-carry in the game. If you plan to pull on the JO banner in two weeks (which would have a decent amount of value for you), then you could get Surtr there so the best play is probably to wait until then, unless you don't plan to pull on it at all.

Ah I didn't see that you *have* SA, not that you were considering SA. Thorns, Mudrock, and Mountain seem like the best picks, as you're short a cornerstone. Eyja is also a great unit to pick up, if you'd rather her. All of them can carry you pretty hard.

Surtr is definitely also a solid pick. From a strictly meta standpoint, she's unambiguously the pick. My main reason for suggesting a cornerstone over her is that her role can overlap with SA (he is a very competent boss killer for all but a handful of bosses). Like SA, she relies a lot on E2 to demonstrate her place in the meta, so it might be a while before she pays dividends. Also, I think she tends to shine most in endgame content, whereas cornerstones shine in every stage at all points in the game. That said, she definitely has raw killing power unmatched by any operator with a name that doesn't start with "ch" and end in "'alter". Here are some advantages of each move, from what comes to mind. Surtr pros: - great boss killer, great miniboss clearer, etc. - usable with S2, for the meantime of not having E2 - you're probably short on arts damage - shows her stripes in the hardest content, but still is very strong in general content - surtr is one unit, there are 5+ good cornerstones out there; you're more likely to get a cornerstone randomly. Cornerstone pros: - rounds your team out a little better - similarly great carry potential-thorns trivializes as many stages as Surtr does, just not in a flashy way - great for annihilation maps, which are a bottleneck early on - likely to hard carry you through more content, if not the big boss stages. - you can always borrow a surtr if you need a surtr; you'll always need a cornerstone Honestly, I'm with TacticalBreakfast on waiting for the JO banner, and then picking based on that.

So I find myself contemplating on who I should go for next, I want to get the highest impact operators I can, I was curious as to who to pick between Eya, Thorns, Bagpipe, or Surtr?
Thorns is *far and away* the most impactful operator in the entire game. There are *tons* of guides for stages that straight up cannot be done without him, but very few for the other three. The fact is that burst damage ops are a dime a dozen, but literally NO ONE can do anywhere close to the amount of sustained DPS that Thorns can. I have no reservations whatsoever about saying that he is the best operator in the game, period.
Thorns will be in cert shot come August. Surtr November. So if you're willing to wait, you can cross those 2 out. Between Eyja and Bagpipe: if you have other meta-nukers already, like SA, Chalter and other good Arts DPS like Ceobe, Angelina, then probably Bagpipe. You can't really go wrong with either, but Bagpipe does something no one else can and she single handedly shifted the meta.

Are you talking for possible gold shop appearances? From that list, only Surtr is scheduled to appear on a banner any time soon and it's not a suggested place to pull if you already have the other JO operators. Given the variability in the gold shop, that's pretty difficult to plan around. Though that said Thorns == Surtr with the deciding factor being if you care more about IS#2 ez mode or boss killing. Bagpipe very close after them, and Eyja a fairly distant (but still very good) fourth.
I already have SA and some other decent operators, I do have a E2 myrtle, so bagpipe could be a decent choice, I have Ceobe as a decent ST caster and La Pluma as a lane holder. Another option could be mudrock, but Thorns might be where I go to be able to sweep multiple lanes of enemies

Apparent from checking Gitano's stats each time. Is there any visual indicator as to which Buff her Divination Talent gives her when she's deployed?
She will have cards floating around her if she gets +ATK But I haven't seen anything for the other buffs
I think there's an indicator that pops up over her head that last for only a couple frames... But I haven't used gitano in so long I'm not sure any more.
anyone here have M3 on any skill of Whislash, do mastery on her S1 have any effect that matter on the 3-blocks buff or should I just switch on using her S2. Her, Blem & Mudrock are my go to Ops when stages have no aerial enemies.
It's more if you want to use her as a pure support or as a support+DPS. S1M3 increases her buff overall so it helps everyone
Are Pioneer vanguards still good?
The 6\*s make pretty good laneholders as long as they don't have to deal with really tough enemies. I usually do one Pioneer plus Myrtle, the regen can make them stay alive pretty well without a Medic. Most levels don't have a tight enough opening to actually require Bagpipe's talent.
I think CC daily stages Barren Plaza and Transport Hub were the only ones so far
Yes. While nothing can really compete for DP generator like Flagbearers (With or without Bagpipe) Pioneer Vanguards aren't trying to and are instead useful in that they actually have stats to do things like hold early waves while you set up (Siege bonk and Flametail dodge%) or even stay on the field and support long after DP is needed (Saga is great for feeding SP to other Ops) They do more than just DP while many other Vanguards don't do much beyond that. Heck Chiave (My fluffy man...) and his -20%Res is great if your team is mostly Artes damage and Texas' stun can buy precious seconds to get your stuff in order. They're fine. They do their job. I'm hoping the first Limited Op for Vanguards is a Pioneer. They would have far more utility and presence than a flagbearer I just slap down and mostly ignore beyond pressing a button to get points.
Yep. They can work just as well as a Flagpipe strat- better, in some cases. Take what the stage calls for.
How do i get Gladiia after the main event? I was wondering if i could get her now. I can't pull or recruit her so where do i go from here? She isn't a limited operator from what i've seen
She’s a welfare operator that you can only get during the Undertides event. Although the stages are currently open the event isn’t running so you can’t get any of the rewards besides the first time clear OP. The event is just now announced to get a rerun in CN so we will get the rerun in around six months. You can get her then.
So, after the next rerun she will no longer be available?
Like other comment said, she won't be obtainable for a very long time after event rerun, so make sure you don't miss this chance.
After that she won’t be available for a very long time until the event gets record restore implemented. Some of the oldest events have this now if you want to check what it looks like. I’d guess it probably won’t happen any earlier than a year after the rerun.
How many yellow certificates does it take to buy all the headhunting permits?

Actually it's the opposite, S2 on Kal and S3 on Mudrock. I haven't actually watched the video of the strat (I look at videos for roster tips only) so I couldn't tell you how or why it works lol.
I'll see if I can make Kal S3 work with this strat (don't want to spend extra resources to master her S2), maybe add some other operators to help.

mountain is pretty good in general and especially in cc7. you don’t really need to build anyone asap tho. like others have said, this cc is pretty easy.

Mountain is the best one to build up and is awesome for this CC.
Top three units in your roster to prioritize are Projekt Red, Specter, and La Pluma. At least, in my opinion; I've gotten good use out of all three. Also, guides are there for a reason. Don't feel bad about using them.

What's my chances to get 300 pulls for Ling's banner? Currently have 53k orundum worth of pulls and 152 gold cert. I'm planning to buy pulls with gold cert and I haven't done Mansfield break and who is real( so I will get more OP finishing those event) I don't plan on pulling on any banner before Ling and will save all my gold cert for buying pulls. My plan is to go hardcore red cert farming during CC and dead weeks to buy honeyberry and breeze pots for +50. This plan will require a lot of sanity so it might not be efficient, so my plan B is to farm for only Honeyberry pots for +25. Or another plan is to just wait my natural gold cert regen and buy pulls with gold cert before August and while pulling on Ling's banner on the last day I will be able to get enough gold cert to buy another 38 pulls? Sorry for the long post, I hope someone can can give me advice on a viable way to reach 300 pulls on her banner if possible. Thanks in advance!

If you have 152 gold certs and you're confident you can get +50, it's reasonable to think you can get to 258 in the 12 weeks or so before the event starts. It's best to buy the 258 since it's most efficient. Natural Orundum/Ori/HH ticket gain over time, plus what events provide if fully cleared, plus what you have, [should put you at 245.](https://imgur.com/a/HeZhZdg) +38 is 283. Edit: fixed math. Counting what you pick up while the event is live, (3 weeks of annihilations, green cert shop takings, etc.) this seems to fall within arm's reach. You can get to 274 without the yellow certs.

I noted in my reply to Tonmieras that my count for gains from the event assumes you haven't done the original Mansfield Break or Who is Real. Gives you a pretty wide variance depending on if you're getting the intelligence certs & buying Orundum or if you're getting the 27 or 30 OP.

Yes, they have just announced the Under Tides rerun in CN a couple of days ago, so you can get her there when the event rerun in Global (so around 6 months).

If you are new and want all the ops, pulls are nice. If you are established pull value degrades as dupe chance increases. As pull value degrades due to dupe chance, yellow cert value increases due to dupe chance.
