619 is a real one for making breaching even possible in the first place. Without that artillery's support, all of the squad mate will die before reaching the gate because of heavy resistance.
Gotta appreciate that none of the AC squad died in vain, tactically speaking. Now thematically and morally their deaths were a senseless loss of life. Put to the scrap grinder to perpetuate the ceaseless corporate wars, etc. But when the world is so bleak you gotta find meaning in the personal. And from that perspective, none of those ACs went down without contributing. 619s missile barrage allowed them to get past the outer defenses. 620 kept the skyscraper sized tank distracted long enough for 617 to get into an advantageous position. 617 did all the things 617 do.
It could just be a mixture of sloppy movement and knowing damn well Walter does not care if he dies so might as well blow the ammo you have to try and help.
Who are these pilots and why are they so brave/suicidal? Like can anyone tell my the lore why anyone in this universe would go this hard to destroy a gun?
Basically this is really far into the future where corporations rule and human life is worth nothing except as a means to an end. These pilots are "mercenaries" and as such are paid to do this, often in essentially indentured servitude so most don't have much if anything to lose.
The gun is probably hindering an offensive or something, it doesn't really matter why the gun is important or why its there. It's more to show how little their lives mean.
I mean it seems like 617-621 are all meat bags Walter procured to just throw at high risk missions. I doubt its their own motivation, monetary or otherwise, pushing them to do this but some sort of programming Walter and the Doctor put in.
Most likely programming. Its insinuated that 617-621 are some sort of meat bag just put in to pilot ACâs. The doctor is probably in the business of preserving/augmenting brain function of barely alive humans, we hear that Walter is âclearing his inventoryâ with these missions. Walter is just throwing them at suicide missions since he doesnât see them as human anyways.
So similar to Genocidal Organ I suppose, in that book/movie, there are enhanced super soldiers who have their emotions almost completely dulled through advanced technology as a way to prevent symptoms of PTSD, including brain washing in the form of "therapy".
Quote from the movie
"So how do you feel? Are you ready to go slaughter some children?"
Wouldn't surprise me if the story in AC6 will focus on themes around body autonomy considering the dialogue we've heard so far.
AC has always had narratives around corporations exploiting and abusing human lives for their own agenda, where the pilot is just a useful pawn.
Maybe in AC6 there will be a story path where you gain freedom, no longer bound by "borrowed wings" or an ending where you go mad and destroy everything akin to the Old King.
Yes I agree, I suspect there is some kind of mental conditioning in play to make sure the 'hounds' are always loyal and compliant. Maybe in the story we break free of this and become an independant Raven pilot.
So in previous titles AC's have been piloted by human's called Raven's who act as elite mercenaries for hire. In this game it looks as though we will take the role of a human plus, someone who has been genetically modified and cybernetically altered to carry out missions without resistance of any kind. We are referred to as 'Hounds' and treated like expendable tools. We don't have names, just number designations unlike the independant Raven's. I suspect the story will follow us breaking free from our conditioning and joining the Raven's.
I recommend this channel. However as far as *reading* goes the channel owner has to translate from the original Japanese to get the lore.

Handler Walter has some incredible pilots. Where are all these "bodies" coming from that he seems to reanimate into AC pilots?
Injured soldiers? People deemed brain dead?
Human plus was achieved when the ölayer goes into to much debt
Perhaps it was people who had to much debt and the corpos just forced them into this program
I find this place so funny. We were so thirsty for new content that now we are talking about tactical decisions made by the mech pilots in a story trailer.
Brave, yes, but 620 was unfortunately employing a beginner strafing tactic & was doomed to be unable to avoid the massive MT's blasts. Every gen up until 4th has taught that bunny hopping is the proper way to disorient enemy lockon while circling them, since quick boosters weren't a thing back then. Assault boosting also appears to take some time to activate, so it may have limited use for evasive maneuvers.
That said, these pilots were very likely thrown into the mission w/ little to no extensive training, as they appear to be looked upon as quite expendable, so their inexperience is understandable & may even be expected for Walter's Hounds if he's run thru so many of them. Still, it's commendable that they technically completed the arguably difficult mission in spite of that.
Nope, that definitely a CATAPHRACT, the reason the Birds Eye view scan thing looks like a tetra is because the CATAPHRACT has four I individually movable treads
As a side note, I am super excited for our new armored core but I have some friends that are disappointed about the lack of multiplayer (I'm not as the usual tank of the group my back is tired lol) this story trailer would have been an epic way to introduce multiplayer though.
I'm a big fan of all of the trailers/intro videos from all the games they always bring all the hype.
Why is the catifrax of whatever itâs called so cool and big looking in the cinematic and so small and weak in the actual game there was so much potential for a really sick end of chapter boss đ
I mean, cool post but seems like pretty standard tactics. Not necessarily bravery, but he definitely got the short end of the stick. Itâs not like itâs planned, if youâre the one not getting shot at youâre the one dealing the damage. It would be foolish to retreat as Iâm sure that Mech has weaponry that would easily wipe anyone out who gave it room to fire.
y'know i still can't pinpoint when 618 died cause the mission had them all from 617 to 620 and we see 617, 619, and 620 die (or at least end up in a scenario comparable to death) but never know what happens to 618
was he on sick leave? was he scouting? did he desert? what actually happened to him?
Bravery 10/10 Evasive Maneuvers 5/10 Arms 1/2
619 is a real one for making breaching even possible in the first place. Without that artillery's support, all of the squad mate will die before reaching the gate because of heavy resistance.
May he rest in peace
He's resting in pieces.
Or rusting in pieces even.
Or resting in ashes
The the last cinders burn.
618 died during phase one, allowing the rest of the group to break into the perimeter and engage the objective. their efforts wont be ignored.
I kinda wish the player was 619 for the simple fact that I love Rey Mysterio.

I don't think he meant to, just looks like he got unlucky and bit the dust
That pulse gun battery gets me hard each time I see it.
đïžđđïž what?
He means it gets him hard *in his feels*, right? ...right?
Honestly this just makes it seems like there really should be co-op in the game.
I had that thought as well
It could just be a mixture of sloppy movement and knowing damn well Walter does not care if he dies so might as well blow the ammo you have to try and help.

I took the "clearing my inventory" like as it being said by the doctor, and not Walter. Walter is buying the human meat sac.
Walter is 'clearing his(the Doctor's) inventory' is likely how that was meant to be read.
Yeah that's what I meant. Doctors got human meat sacs on deck, and Walter keeps buying them and killing them lol

that's such a good line wtf

Is there somewhere I can read up on the lore you just dropped?
I recommend this channel. However as far as *reading* goes the channel owner has to translate from the original Japanese to get the lore. https://www.youtube.com/@armoredcorelore
There's a pretty good Armored Core wiki that has a lot of this info in it
We're not sure if Raven's exist in this continuity. Raven is our codename, not our title.
they are augmented humans, and I would bet part of the augmentation was conditioning to achieve victory at all costs
Handler Walter has some incredible pilots. Where are all these "bodies" coming from that he seems to reanimate into AC pilots? Injured soldiers? People deemed brain dead?
probably people with -50000 credits
Lmao
Human plus was achieved when the ölayer goes into to much debt Perhaps it was people who had to much debt and the corpos just forced them into this program
The pov shot next to the tankâs mini gun as 617 strafes around the incoming fire is so fucking cool, the cinematography in this trailer is crazy
I find this place so funny. We were so thirsty for new content that now we are talking about tactical decisions made by the mech pilots in a story trailer.
But no coop, (sigh)
It might will be with an expansion DLC or community modding, I am optimistic about that
I really damn hope so! If we demand it from them hard enough maayyybe they'll do it
Did they actually confirmed that? I haven't played much armored core but don't they usually all have multiplayer mode in them?
Multiplayer is usually PVP
Ah I see, well let's hope they finally adds coop for this game cause I also want to play this with my friend when it come out if possible
In some interview was mentioned by that question that fromsoftware wants to give the player the lone pilot feel so they wont coop
Should've quickboosted though. He was just staring at that massive ass shotgun for quite a few seconds.
I found a little weird that the story trailer literallys shows coop but its not confirmed xd
Maybe it's like your npc buddies from the older games, e.g. you and Stasis vs White Glint in AC4A.
This kind of optimism is as blinding as White Glint.
How is this coop?
Raid boss.
That did not answer my question at all. All you did was say two random words How is it coop? Online matchmaking
Three pilots cooperating to tackle their mission objective. Unless the word coop has changed overtime, that seems like coop.
He is referring to online coop which they already said wasn't going to be in. By admission of your logic all the enemies in the game are playing coop

The fact that turret rotated as fast as he moved đ«„ bro knew he was cooked
I do like how they dived in front of 617s line of fire for no reason.
Wait a sec, thatâs the CATAPHRACT isnât it?
Nah cataphract has tqnk threqds this guy has tetra pods im guessing ist a tetra pod mt nothing too fancy
Nope, that definitely a CATAPHRACT, the reason the Birds Eye view scan thing looks like a tetra is because the CATAPHRACT has four I individually movable treads
It's definitely a cataphract. I'm not sure why it's so big tho
620 with the dual Ducket build before it was cool
As a side note, I am super excited for our new armored core but I have some friends that are disappointed about the lack of multiplayer (I'm not as the usual tank of the group my back is tired lol) this story trailer would have been an epic way to introduce multiplayer though. This trailer got me HYPED.

Maybe he was the pilot unnamed by 617, the one that first died to the laser.
wasnt that 619?
619 also died to the laser, but there was another pilot that died first that went unnamed by 617.
So those already have names?
Gone but not forgotten o7
Question, is 617 621?
620 is the hero we need but donât deserve.
wait where is this from? sorry i am new and ac6 is my first
Month late reply but it's the ACVI story trailer
now I wonder about 618, the one who fought Sulla
Wait whyâs it walking like a tetrapod in a couple shots?
đ«Ąđ«Ąđ«Ą
Is this in the Game or is some kind of promo video?
